PEOPLE! A simple damage reduction in my opinion is not suitable for a bow fix. I STUDIED WHY IT'S TOO HARD TO KILL AN ARCHER WITH A GUN:

  1. THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT: if you do not increase the draw time of the bow, then you definitely need to make a STRONG slowdown in movement EXACTLY WHEN YOU ARE PULLING THE BOW, this is necessary so that archers cannot crawl out from behind a tree and instantly go back behind a tree.
  2. CHANGING ARROW DAMAGE: From my experience, I can say that in my opinion the ideal option would be 13 damage for an armored person when shooting in the chest. (like in the game "RUST")
  3. INCREASING THE DRAW TIME OF THE BOW: you say that it will be very scary and it will be impossible to shoot normally, but this is not so! Everything is not as scary as it seems. In my opinion, the tita attack time should be exactly 1.5 seconds!

If the developers make such changes, then finally there will be a huge sense in crafting a crossbow with its huge damage and accuracy, finally the speed of killing a person with a bow will be objective compared to killing with a crossbow.
For a crossbow in this case, a delay of 2.75 seconds should be made.

With a 1.5 second delay and dealing 13 damage to a player wearing metal it would take you 11.5 seconds to kill someone if you hit them with every shot. That's waaaaaay too much time

drawback could be slightly tougher, not a lot but enough to stop people from rapid firing

All you need to do is reduce the damage a little or change the bow drawing speed.

Drew said he’s looking at some ideas, prominent one he talked about was making it so rather then draw time, the bow just does less damage if you’re shooting too fast

Yeah but then you can't really outskill someone and the whole premise of combat becomes needing better gear. My favorite way to get metal and ak bps early on is to take them from someone who got too confident lol. Still gotta balance it to be able to make those plays, otherwise players are going to be forced to loot monuments (which are also contested by the metal guys) to be able to find those BPs

In my opinion there still has to be a chance to compete or you just end up with prim locked players eco raiding at 4am to get their come up

What I mean in “near zero” is if ur 1v1 and they know where you are and are trying to kill you

If ur sneaking up on them or they aren’t try to kill you then ur chances should be decent

My only gripe is that it’s a bit hard to balance it so it’s fair for both metals and nakeds

Yeah, there's a lot of things to consider when balancing all that. I feel like 7 shots with a drawback timer though is just a death sentance. First shot alerts them and then you've gotta survive and hit ALL your shots for the next 10 seconds

Because 40 damage works well for metals, 50% reduction makes it so that most shots do 20 and headshots are 40, so it’s hard but not impossible to make a play, but for nakeds doing 80 damage on headshot is absurd

This is ofc assuming we have a 1-2 second delay on shots

Hmmmm... let me look at the damage numbers because really it shouldn't do 80 damage to an armored head. That'd mean it's head damage is equal to 160

#

That's higher than any gun

It would do 80 to unarmored head

However if u lower base bow damage even a little down to 30 you would have to hit three headshots and a body which is way too slow on metals

Pretty sure full metal and cloth cuts damage in each section by 50%

So at full health still 3 shots to the head, 4 to the torso without heals

Obviously ur not always gonna hit everything but especially when there’s cover you can make big plays on metals if you have a decent skill gap between you

If they kept current damage but added longer time between shots and slowed you down while shooting bow I think it would be perfect

I think ~5 seconds is where ttk on metals should be if ur hit only body shots

Overall I think even for a very skilled player winning full metal with naked bow should be a rarity, something that happens once a wipe at best, however the decisions fall to the devs so we will see what is implemented and how
