Sometimes I realise that I have something already planned the day of a date, like egg hatching. So I think it could be handy to be able to talk to the NPC to cancel your date. You'll still lose heart, but less than if you stood them up.

I think you don't understand the suggestion, egg hatching is the next day, so if you're egg resetting that means going to the date in between each reset if you don't want to lose hearts. And it was only a mere example of a situation where someone could miscalculate their schedule and wish to be able to do something else than going to a date
It's also just more logical/rp, you don't cancel a rendez vous when you realise you have something else planned? You just stand them up and too bad for them? 😅
