I got the survey today and to my surprise one of the questions is "To account for fluctuating global shipping rates, we’ll be charging shipping and handling fees at a later stage. You'll need to enter your payment information to complete the survey."

I have the 25$ pledge (Friend of Bait) which does not include any physical good, so why do I have to enter my payment information?

There might not be a way to have no payment window if your pledge covers your Total. Perhaps feedback can be sent to BackerKit Support for future campaigns.

Digital goods can also be taxed, which is why I think BackerKit collects payment info from all backers, regardless of whether they have physical rewards. But you're right in that you'll have no shipping charges!

The reason there charging later is because shipping costs may change between now and april

If you are still hesitant to leave your card on file for an undetermined amount, please feel free to leave your survey incomplete until the creators lock in the shipping costs and update backers via an update. Your survey won't be cancelled and you will still receive your rewards as long as you complete the survey on time. You will still be able to complete the survey once shipping prices are finalized and entered into your survey by the creators.

I can't say if a Wonderstorm employee has seen this thread since WS Justin replied on 11/7. Perhaps you can reply to WS Justin's message here which will @ him and perhaps you two can discuss this further. It may be a unfortunate limitation of BackerKit's system.
