just ran a practice race in the same conditions and all three of my christmas oguri got 1st, 2nd and 4th. with 4th getting a 9 length lead over 5th place.
my two regular oguri got 3rd and 15th. Both had Long S but my S rank oguri had lower stamina (935 vs 764) and just died during the race.
christmas oguri is right now the only uma that must have 3 recoveries to run. the pisces cup requires max stamina and gold recoveries to run without stamina death.

Starting guidelines. Junior year is fixed, turns with multiple options depend usually on whether you're running a miler, a longer or a dirter so make you own judgements
Items are their own world but basicaly:
- Scholar's Hat is the most important item, buy as soon as possible so you have Fast Learner
- first turn of Camp, use all the items that raise friendship. Then over the course of Camp use the training-strengthening items as best you can
- Use recovery items to train in dead turns or to prevent race-punishments (never race with 0 energy, raise mood when needed)
- Save at least three of the best hammers for URA at the end

It should be noted, you want either 50% or 60% Race Bonus, hitting the increment-of-10 breakpoints matters a lot. 55% is barely better than 50 but 60 is A LOT better

Vodka and Fine Motion have the most longevity, I think Sweep Tosho SSR Speed is also pretty good
Taking the Fuku to 35 is also a solid option. The biggest use of that card is right now in MANT and it's mostly for the free initial boost to every stat, which is already unlocked. At MLB it's +30 to everything but at 1LB it's probably still a +15. You could definitely use it and borrow something else like SSR Neicha or NTR
For right now I think it's the best choice, otherwise go with with the long run investment

Yeah I do have to look up if 70% is overkill, I only ever saw 50% mentioned as minimum to aim for and 60% as being very good.
The most Race Bonus a whale can hit is 90%.... but that means no Speed Cards. If say using the example Guts Meta deck previously listed, you'll have an amazing 70% Race Bonus. Well above the minimum 50%.
While more Race Bonus is nice, once you have 50%, you can branch out and get cards with less or no Race Bonus at all when aiming for specific skills from cards. Don't forget that.
Yeah to be fair the cards with the most race bonus are pretty dogshit in skills, so it ends up being mostly raw stats vs skills

I was pretty lost with MANT, but I found this guide somewhere in a comment section on the subreddit and it's been helping a lot. It's not MANT specific; it has tips for every scenario, % chances of success/failures in events, and specific, exact explanations of stats and how races work.
MANT tips are in the Strategy section - Support Card builds, and advanced strategy. There's even an example playthrough.
It's a big document. You gotta use the thingy on the side to get around to the different sections (or the hyperlinks).

I did one career run as Haru to get the dirt trophy, and really felt the lack of dirt races. Overall, I did end up doing a lot more trainings in her playthrough than with other umas so far, and I didn't even get the skill upgrade at the end of year 1. If I tried her again, I would probably throw in many turf sparks to give her more options.

Yeah, Smart Falcon with and without a B in Turf is a world of difference. Nobody should do it without it
For Arima Kinen Haru getting a B in turf is not feasible unless I get lucky in both inspirations. But I'm running pretty much every OP dirt she can run and it's still like 30 races
Points and shop currency is still alright, severely lacking in rivals tho.

I mean, there is definitely no point in running Arima Kinen. In other scenarios you at least get an event for doing well, or even winning. However, they added completionist titles for winning every G3-G1 trophy as a particular character. So if you want those, you might want to first and foremost win those trophies that you normally cannot due to a conflict in the schedule and for anything else that is difficult wait for future scenarios with more power creep.
