My first run I actually won against Team Zenith 3-2, so I was a little confused. My second run, I lost 1-4 against them, but still could continue. Another difference is that in the former run I had to run against them in the URA finale, which made me fail it and only got a normal career ending. In the second run, I was spared that, and won the finale.

But I think you also need at least 3 hard wins.

I've had runs where I win everything and lose to Zenith, I still get a good chunk of free stats at the end but no free skill

That depends on the horse you're running, but also the Wit strat is supposedly recommended if you have a lot of good, MLB wit cards

Riko is very good, both SSR and SR

SSR, all her recreations give SP and energy so it's a much better "dead" turn than Rest

And most of them give +1 mood too

I'm checking the SR version and it seems to be the same without the SP

Plus all the benefits of companion cards: lower energy cost, lower risk etc

Like, training guts is okay if there's four horses with flame up in there. If best you can do is one or two make it on a stat that matters, or WIT in the worst case scenario, and if not just Rest

Apparently to get the highest team rank. You need 4 preseason wins against the hardest opponent and a win against the medium opponent.

Important advice tho: if you're running Riko and you get an event with three choices my recommendation is to always go for the second option. The important part of this option is there's no gambling and it unlocks her Recreation events

The top option gambles the chance to open the recreation + stats and mayb energy, but if you lose you can never get her recreations

The top option I won it 3 out of 4 times but don't take that as the real odds

Well I guess you only need 4. I don't keep super strict check of who is my ace in what, but I'll happily give another flame up to Haru or Taiki over others, since I'm running med/long

I can see from this first round that I should make Special Week my mile ace, for instance, and Nice Nature my medium ace

I'm doing this mainly because I'd just let my team get autopicked up until now, but I've been stuck in Class 5 for a while. I want to move to Class 6. So I'm optimizing a bit and being smarter about shuffling my team. This is a pretty simple spreadsheet- it doesn't account for victory % bonuses, nor bonuses for opponent strength, or explain score. But it'll show me my underperforming umas who I should look at more closely, and it should average out alright.

I have a "dream team" in mind, but until I get there, I'll be slowly working with what I do have.
