Fixes the logic bug I talked about earlier, implements an option to shuffle djinn among the same element (makes builds easier), and gives more descriptive location names for djinn (which must be locally shuffled between each other for now)

Okay so you know the three puzzles you have to do to open the vault
You can bypass those by putting in the correct codes
One turns off the light, one brings the raft over, and one you'd put in normally
So as long as you can get into the vault part of that section of the game, and you have Dream Totem Patch, you don't need the Limbo Warp Patch, the Alarm Bypass Patch or the Projection Range Patch
Since those codes haven't been randomized

IME the extra swords are fun and not a big deal for balance since they don't fundamentally change how the boss fights work; the really big jumps in practice are still no melee -> stick and stick -> sword
I have been thinking of using early_items on some randomly chosen non-sword weapon, because historically too many of my Tunic seeds have either expected me to play half the game weaponless, or just gave me the sword early enough that it was basically the same as vanilla (which I know is partially my fault for using start_with_sword lol)
the effects I remember are the purple goop damage that lowers max HP, and some cosmetic effects I won't spoil; I never saw items disappear or enemies spawn

My main concern is getting the ability to cut as many bushes as you like early, which I guess will probably happen anyway
yeah, the bushes situation is... weirdly maybe the hardest design challenge in the whole rando, because you have to get past some bushes to do almost anything, but right after that bushes are never a blocker again
and in principle you can do it with enemy manipulation or consumables ||or the free bomb codes||, but not everyone knows that
iirc in recent versions of the randomizer there's even a setting to just turn off the damn bushes so you don't have to do any of that

For my Tunic run I want to have an interesting challenge, but I'm not sure what I want to do exactly
A no-sword, no-stick run? An enemy randomizer run?
I'll definitely be doing enemy randomizer, but in part because I plan on forcing a weapon early; there's a few places where weaponless enemy rando doesn't work (e.g. bottom of the well if a big enemy is in the water)
and weaponless definitely won't work reliably on the bosses
I've been doing a vanilla run and it turns out there are two spare swords you can find if you have somehow strayed so far from the intended path that you're hopeless
That explains why the randomizer has three sword levels
the west garden spare was confirmed to be placed there by the devs specifically for speedrunner convenience

So in a lot of our previous asyncs, I played with relatively easy games or easy options so I'd have time to spare to work on my own randos. This month I want to finally stop doing that and go in the exact opposite direction. If you have death_link on, you've been warned.
I'll be playing Outer Wilds, Nine Sols, Tunic. All 3 of my games are set to prog balancing: 35, accessibility: minimal, priority_locations for bosses et al, and death link on true/all_deaths.
- Nine Sols will have the additional mods BossChallengeMod and EigongPrime
- Tunic will have entrance rando and enemy rando, plus a bit of plando to force a secondary weapon or shield to be available early in the Overworld (not to make the game easier, but just so I won't spend half the game weaponless)
- Outer Wilds will have Song of 6, DLC & all story mods & logsanity locations enabled, plus the additional mods Ernesto Chase and Ship Enhancements (on "Pandemonium" preset)
That ought to be enough to kill me several times a session.

They are turned into items and shuffled with all items. Possessing that item enables the fuse it's tied to

I mean regular in the sense that basically every AP rando is permitted to and theoretically capable of doing that, they just vary in how often it comes up in practice
For example, using orb I was able to get into quarry, collect all the checks there, but since I rested in the save shrine there I couldn't get out
In ocarina of time, it is impossible to get into that situation.
In the quarry softlock, I couldn't leave because I didn't have the ladders needed to return to the overworld
right, ER can also lead to some inescapable one-ways that contain save points which is why ER gives the torch
Honestly, Tunic should just have benchwarping
every time I suggest that in an AP game that doesn't have it I get told no lol

OW is a subjective case where depending on your interpretation either its design precludes the possibility of dead ends, or it obviously has tons of dead ends but also a vanilla warp to spawn that makes them not a problem I ever needed to worry about while modding it

In this spot I had shield and orb only, and I spent my last bomb. I couldn't get past the bushes
The solution was to close the game and start it over, then use the orb to pull an enemy and get it to kill me
Saving and quitting would place me in the secret room entrance, and if I had used all my MP, the only way I could leave would be to go into settings and turn on "remove early bushes"

Which is one of my biggest issues because bush logic would be so fun to puzzle out
In the quarry softlock, I managed to escape by exhaustively searching the quarry until I happened to find a fuse that allowed me to get to far shore
my understanding was that if bushes were a logical barrier it'd just be a sphere 1 vs 2 thing and also you'd have to just ignore or rework the free bombs or the enemy manips and yeah that already sounds like nowhere near worth it

It guarantees you get high enough stats before you're expected to fight hard enemies. I don't think I want it
I never personally felt the need for it in all my past rando runs
when I was active in the Tunic AP chat, the (easier) combat logic was explicitly framed as helping players of lower skill levels than us; it was kind of a given that Scipio and I and so on would probably never use it

for boring technical reasons I had to put out another tiny OW release today, but it has no effect on the validity of anyone's yamls; it's probably best to use the new 0.3.13 apworld when we generate this just so nobody gets the "this was generated with an old version" warnings in-game

historically, no, they're very bad at coming out with any predictable regularity
people have tried waiting in the past and ended up delaying stuff by multiple weeks
the only reason it's relevant to us is that one of the games submitted happened to require AP 0.6.0 RC3
which is expected to be pretty much identical to AP 0.6.0 full stop whenever that does come out
I'm still not sure what the warp change is for ladx
so Flitter will probably use RC3 to generate this, but unless one of your games has a maintainer that sucks at back-compat, it shouldn't matter

rando gives me 5 terran units immediately, and one of the most powerful protoss units (carrier)
it's easy to forget, but prog balancing will only move prog items earlier in a seed; if they all randomly end up early anyway then prog balancing has no effect
