fwiw, an .apworld is literally just a zip of a folder containing .py files (citation)

unsupported games like mine usually just ship an .apworld with only the source .py files (I literally do right-click -> zip on my source folder when I release OW), I think the use of pre-compiled .pyc files is specifically a supported game thing that AP's build system does, similar to how it turns e.g. the MultiServer.py script in the source repo into an ArchipelagoServer.exe file for the official releases

one reason many AP games try to avoid combat logic or money logic, or keep those parts of logic very simple, is because they'd otherwise end up with lots of items being progression that arguably shouldn't be or are far less important than the truly blocking items

granted, if you're willing to set up a proper AP dev environment with a fork of the source repo and PyCharm running the unit tests, and you're willing to figure out what changes need to be made to the logic when you mess with the items, then, sure, go ahead and make custom apworld edits, it's not that hard

Thank you for joining me in the second Manechat Archipelago for June 2024. This game had a whooping 83 spheres for some ungodly reason (Only 3209 locations though.) OOTMM Sign up

I'm hosting an OOTMM multiworld for July. OOTMM is a rando that combines Ocarina and Majoras Mask into one game https://ootmm.com/multiworld. It's very similar to playing archipelago with some key differences.
-There's no console to release items in case you have to stop playing, so you should be pretty confident that you can play. Worst case scenario someone else can take over your file.
-There's unfortunately no automatic tracking or website tracker so everyone will be required to use Emotracker to manually keep track of their checks, otherwise we will definitely get stuck.
-Everyone plays with the same settings. There's a lot more settings in this than OoT AP and I will be using the ones I believe will make this the most fun.
-Since everyone is playing the same game you can actually see the items you pick up in the game instead of just "Archipelago item" which I think adds a lot of fun to the experience.

I'll ping those I believe have shown interest already but anyone here is welcome to join. @wet field @lament tusk @sage dawn @fiery mason.

Starting items

Important seed settings to be aware of:

Because of how Majoras Mask time system works, the game is not in logic until you have obtained the Ocarina of time (MM) and Song of time (MM). You can still go to MM, and in some cases your song of time will be the song you get when first entering MM, but none of the other checks are in logic and you won't be able to reset the cycle before you have those two items.
MM Clocks are shuffled. I believe we start with the first day. Before you get more clocks you have to reset time before the first day ends otherwise you game over and lose your progress.
Ocarina buttons are shuffled, but shared between games.
Dungeon entrances are shuffled across both games.
Once you have the ocarina of time, you can time travel by playing the song of time, and some checks might require you to do so.
You can use warp songs across both games, so song of soaring to clock town is an easy way to get to the market in OoT.

Emotracker can not account for dungeon entrance shuffle so you will have to keep that in mind.
