Tunic's Fairies and Blasphemous' Children of Moonlight are a similar "collect dozens to unlock <5 checks", but GSTs are the most extreme case in practice since there's 100 of them instead of Tunic/Blasphemous' 20-30, and we tend to have multiple OoT slots

IME the usual handling for those kinds of sidequests is to exclude_locations the reward for 100% of the thing

since completing the quest has more to do with the overall multiworld reaching a certain % than you doing anything in particular, it's usually not that fun

at least personally, I do priority_locations on boss fights that I'd otherwise be tempted to put off for after all the easy checks

If you send an item to the archipelago server for another player, it will remain sent forever. If you start a new game in the same room, the server will give you all items that have been sent to you

#

But it'll leave the items that are local to you where they are in the case of patched games

#

So you have to find those again unless you save or use a save state
