there, launched the rocket
i spent a bit of extra time pointlessly adding a bunch of food and water to the rocket's storage. you dont keep it and it affects nothing but i never like the idea of my char just launching into space with nothing to eat
so one of the unofficial Archipelago games is a "Manual" game, which can be configured with any items/locations/logic and is meant to be used for non-video games (like board games or miscellaneous irl tasks), or to prototype before making a proper game mod

So you'll need to 1- Generate a "patched" game, then 2- let me install the apworld file on my machine, then 3- edit the YAML to fit your needs.

I'm guessing it's because lower_snake_case is the norm in Python, which led to it being the norm for the generic yaml settings all games have because it's AP core implementing them, like start_inventory, and most games just use the same style for their other options
though AHiT interestingly uses UpperCamelCase for all its game-specific yaml settings

You may choose to play a game that is heavily front loaded or back loaded in order to skew how much you'll need to keep playing according to your own free time
(use the 0-99 balancing to control that)

I know there's a lot of talk about missing hint features and reworking hints in general, and I think "more GUI" is the answer to a lot of it
It's only something I care about because some games do not automatically hint when I view shop items or when I can make deductions to derive item locations
So a note field is a bandaid, not a solution
yeah, and in some games it'd be too spammy
Tagging and filtering hints sounds like a fun problem to solve
like how in Ender Lilies, every other item I stand next to shows "LT to pick up Flitter's Ocarina", but to hint that a second before I pick it up would be mostly obnoxious in practice
(if you could somehow detect that I skipped it on purpose, maaaaaybe)
though in Tunic I can only see trap/filler/useful/progression categories unless it's one of my own items, and hinting my own items would likely be silly too

Hey, @fresh hill could you offer advice? There's been a new Minit archipelago release. When you played Minit, how was it? How long did it take? Any pain points? How complete was the archipelago implementation?
I know it's changed a lot since the version I played, e.g. that version didn't even do the fanfare animation when picking up items because the dev hadn't figured out an issue with it yet, and I had to avoid a certain place to not softlock (both are fixed now)
I think the pain points I hit were all slightly obtuse puzzles in the base game rather than with the content of the AP mod
I forget how long it took but I wanna say one day
the new version even has entrance rando, so it's a lot closer to "complete"
