Just finished pokemon violet today after I finished scarlet a month ago and I can say that it is my favorite pokemon game slightly beating hgss and bw2, only complaint is the one many people has for the game which is the technical issues. I was shiny hunting Houndour with my sister yesterday and we found a shiny Lokix instead that I let her catch, and another one appeared later that just froze my game as soon as I touched it so I couldn't catch it. She couldn't get that second one either because my game freezing disbanded the group.
I had noticed that my character's face animations had stopped working when I made the sandwich, but I just chose to ignore it. So that shiny fail was completely on me.

This is my take as well. The game runs so much better in the Switch emulators on a good computer, you can get a solid 60FPS at 4K with proper antialiasing.
I'm really sad that it runs so poorly on the native hardware, it's a good Pokémon game otherwise.

The game does have poor optimization due to lack of development time, yes, no one is denying that, but there is no question either that the games would benefit greatly from better hardware specifications.

The console is to blame to some extent as well. First party titles given adequate time to develop their games will run acceptably well on the Switch; however, a lot of other games need to have their quality greatly reduced to be able to run with acceptable performance.
The point is, the Switch hardware is very outdated.

In the case of Metroid prime, I must bring up, the biggest factor to its performance success is that its playable environments aren't "vast" in an open-world sense.
Open world type games are often the most difficult games to optimize because of how much freedom the player has with how they see and traverse the world
A game that puts you on a linear path could have like, say, 10 times more detail than a game that lets you turn the camera in any direction you want, and go in any direction you want. Not impossible, even a couple third party games have managed to some degree, but Pokemon game development has been in such a weird state for some time now
Their ambition levels are growing massively, yet the development cycle and resources they have isn't able to help support that ambition to its fullest potential
So, let's say there is a new console coming out that is significantly more powerful than the Switch. Something like that happening would allow more breathing room for the insane development cycle Gamefreak is under to make the game they want to make with their ambition level and yearly release cycle without having to implement hyper aggressive and sloppy optimization techniques to get the game even running semi-playably on low-spec hardware in the time they have to work on the game.

It is most definitely a "worst of both worlds" situation. As always, the rush to release new games solely so that merchandise can be sold in an expedited manner heavily impacts the development time needed to truly iron out the game and make it run as smoothly as possible.
Pokemon has always been a merchandise-first media franchise and, although it's video games are their second most profitable venue, merchandise is their bread and butter. It is very unfortunate that they do not give their games the proper development breathing time they need to truly be spectacular, but it is what it is One thing is for sure though, at least to me. It is not GameFreak's fault. They do what they can with the time they are given and the *resources" they are given.
That being said, the Switch hardware is also to blame due to how intricate it is to develop games for it due to it's unique features such as it's portability and dock-ability. First party games that are developed for it are given years of development time which is why you do not see games be announced and released within a year's time. Pokemon is the only stubborn franchise that wants to stick to a yearly release schedule and their games suffer in quality as a result.

I wouldn't say the feature of undocking and docking the switch is what makes developing for it hard. A lot of that integration works by itself with any game for the most part. You just have to make sure the game you make can easily change its rendering resolution on the fly to account for the halved GPU clock speed when undocking

Just an aside, I've been doing some experimenting with performance software mods on Switch hardware to see what it would take to get a game that runs quite poorly to somewhat acceptable. I've been testing Overwatch 2 specifically this last weak. Its a game that was backported to the Switch, so it wasn't made specifically for the Switch hardware spec, but I already know can perform well on mobile hardware since it can play at 120fps on something like the SteamDeck just fine.
That game runs natively at 30fps at 1600x900, and has a dynamic resolution scale that can go as low as 1120x630 just to maintain 30fps. That's the stock behavior of the game with stock hardware.
My goal was to get this game running at 60fps, and I wanted to see what it would take. I managed to get there, but I took pretty extreme steps through the performance mods. First easy thing I did was overclock the Switch. Overwatch 2 is pretty heavily GPU bottle-necked, so overclocking that was the most important things. Went from stock 768MHz to the rated maximum of 921MHz, which is about 20% more performance headroom on the GPU side. It's good but not enough. I messed with rendering resolution next, and ultimately after a lot of testing, in order to keep a "somewhat" consistent 60fps in a heat of combat is setting the game's rendering resolution to 426x240. I have played with changing its dynamic resolution behavior too, settings its minimum dynamic resolution to that 240p number and settings the dynamic res target framerate to 60fps of course, but Blizzard's dynamic resolution behavior doesn't seem to keep up well with 60fps, as it takes a while for the game to step down to its lower resolutions. And again to contrast this with something like the Steam Deck, Overwatch 2 can run a stable 120fps at 1280x800 and not even be on the lowest graphics settings.
Overwatch 2 while not being made specifically for the switch isn't a poorly optimized game in of itself. And it can perform well on mobile hardware. Just not on the Switch, it's far too weak.
A bit of a tangent there, but I just wanted to emphasize how weak the Switch is. The Steam Deck is 10 or maybe 20 times more performant (depending on how you look at it) than the Switch with the same game with the same underlying engine.

Pokemon will never change how it develops their games (as in, the resources and time allowed by the higher up business decision makers) because there is literally zero business incentive to. For as long as the Switch remains as the primary platform, Pokemon will very likely continue to be released in these broken states. If a team like this was targeting any other platform, they could probably still pull it off

The boss is level 75 since it's a 5-star raid, so being at least that level is ideal.
EVs probably don't matter too much for 5-stars as long as you're a high enough level and you have max Attack, but my preferred spread for Kingambit for raids is 248 HP, 252 Attack and 8 Speed.
