I was once a RDM main, I stopped after I ended up having to not only heal, but revive an entire Raid that would not stop going sideways. During the Emerald Weapon fight, in the middle of my rotation, I threw myself back. Off the platform. And died.

I managed to get every commendation because the entire group died laughing at what I said. "I thought I had enough Verroom when I jumped. I Verdidn't and now I am Verdead."

I would then spend a year referring to that particular skill as Verdie

I never even unlocked picto because I am annoyed that we have 21 jobs and 20 Glamour Plates, but I have a plan now

Since now the glams are not job specific and you can mixmatch it, I will make a really really good one to use as main glam across all jobs, and will have a few specific glams for the jobs I like the most and for whichI have really good ideas for, which are probably a dozen of them

That way I have a good number of plates left to play with, it's probably the best way to approach the problem for the moment

I have some meh glams that I'm not super happy about, so I don't mind switching to this system

Like for now I really have to keep my DRG. my MNK, my SAM probably, my WHM, my SMN is a bit generic, but I like how simple it is, not sure for it.

The trailer and the news about evolved mode definitely have me hyped for the expansion, so I got back some fuel to spend in the game

Also given that I don't plan to do hardcore farming for now, just passive-ish stuff, having a long timeframe is good, 8 months or so is a pretty cozy time-frame

Also the math tracks, roughly 240 days to do 250 levels in classes, one a day is chill

(it'll probably be faster than that realistically, but to have a rough idea)

I have to wait until I do the glam reorganisation though, I need my plugins to come back online, and they aren't since the patch just happened, need to archive all the glams I'm not using anymore

since you mentioned it, mnk is always on my mind, so i keep wondering what they'll do to it in evolved mode. the idea is to reduce button bloat, but mnks most defining feature is arguably the free form combo making for solar lunar, so, surely that'd require at least ten buttons? not even counting in the chakra side of things or riddles. i guess unless they do five buttons and its "lunar single target rotation, lunar aoe, solar single, solar aoe and perfect balance"? curious what they cook up there

Looking at what thye did with DRG, they might consolidate the combos into single attacks that are directionals to give you the proper narta maybe? Not sure after that.

It's hard to tell given we only saw two DPS at work and one was BRD, which is already an atypical DPS in the current game

The point of detatching it from the 2 minutes meta is to be able to do more out there stuff with the classes after all

Right now all it does is giving you bonuses for your next hit, but they could make it work differently and make the stance switching THE main monk thing if they wanted, that'd be fun

Another thing that would be very MNK to focus on, since they showcased that on PLD, is counterattacks.

So there is a big AOE, you have IDK, riddle of earth that if you use within 4 seconds before getting hit, you can turn it into a big hit against the enemy.

SAM used to have that in Shadowbringers though, and if they do that gimmick on only one Melee class (it could be multiple) my guess would be on SAM

If you have no rush and are not close to start DT at the point you are at in the story, you can probably wait for the next expansion and buy that one directly instead.

If you get the last expansion you are given all the expansions inbetween you don't have in the current model of the game

Mentioning it since the next one is in January of next year, so there are roughly 8 months of time left to enjoy DT while it's current, so if you don't plan to get to it in that timeframe, you are better off waiting
