In this expansion especially, it's probably worth trying to explain because if you just mainlined the story you probably only have a cursory awareness of other shards, most of the knowledge for them comes from Ukulele and that's optional.

If you have the 8 men raid, you can do the 5-8 wings as much as you want and get gear that way

The 9-12 wings it's still one piece of gear a week per piece tho

This is with me having access to post EW gear/dungeons/the like and not just market board

(well i think you need 615 to do 6.4 but you could just grind the 6.4 dungeon until you have 615 to do the trial)

Though my MCH is 610 *because I bought the highest gear from the Market Board, i just thought it looked funny, lmao

1-4 it's ilvl 580 so that already it would be an upgrade

The wings 9-12 give items lvl 640, but you can only get 4 tokens a week.
If your objective is to boost ilvl as much as possible and you get there to do the last few wings, I suggest you get 4 jewelry token

Since you can exchange those for the whole right side

Also I checked, the 24 men raid currently doesn't have a restriction

2 wings are out of that one and give 590 and 620 gear

(The only reason to use Holmgang ever really is in the extremely rare situation that Raw Intuition/Bloodwhetting is either not available (in which case you have fucked up because it's a 25 second OGCD, what have you done in the last less than 25 seconds to warrant such a drastic boost) or you simply can't outheal it (Pretty much impossible unless like you're in some DEEP Vulnability stacks and you can't outheal it)

I think it's that you interacting with the Dark Knight soulstone causes a unique effect.
I mean we are talking about artefacts made to store memories of their weilder and a class that is able to use magic to fight.
Is that really such a stretch?

In fact, the lvl 80 ability is you creating a shadow of yourself to fight alongside you for a short amount of time

Also not all form of summoning are primals

We literally summon a carbuncle at lvl 1 arcanist

It's just the act to give your aether a specific form.

Even the Summoner summons aren't actually primals, you mimic primal forms but they are still just something bound to you and made by your aether

My reading is that in the ||DRK quest, the thing you summon isn't bound to your conscious mind but to your subconscious||

And for the lvl 61-70 quest, ||they are bound to the piece of soulstone you lost and your memories inside of it||

That's my reading about the mechanics of the "how" at least

they're called mogtome events usually and they tend to have a couple of extreme mounts, various hard to get items, and a unique glam, and tend to be months long

this one will litterally last like 11 months
