Stuff ||starts in 4.4. when Alphy meets Shadowhunter and Scions begin to faint, so there is the end of 4.0, then the whole arc with Tsuyu that ends in 4.3||

Knwoing bringina we'll have a few weeks of side stuff in the middle

So we have the ||Omega raids, the Ivalice Raids, the Four Lords, if they want the deep dungeon and Eureka as possible distractions||

I do suggest to do 4.1 right away, after 4.0, because I think you'd really enjoy that bit and it ties really well if done right after by the way.
But I do expect distractions after that

Sometimes you do a quest, a dude comes in as someone you need to talk with, and the game goes "you already know each other, how so?"

Most of those triggers are there if you completed the quests

Even if you play another class altogether at the moment

If you play DRG during heavenswards there are A LOT of them

Because you meet estinian in the final lvl 50 DRG quest

And you are also sorta crowned as ||azure dragoon, so in the story there are two Azure Dragoon instead if you play as DRG||

You can tell that they made that quest far before they wrote anything at all about HWs and it definitely required some tweaking to fit it in the actual expansion

Also I will eventually advocate for you do to the DRK stuff, because the story is excellent, but that is probably stuff for after EW if you get there and still want to cry some more

also sidenote before i forget, the next time we meet up itd b cool to try an 8 raid with dual healers, id b interested to try out co-healing in a gen-safe environment

I am up for it, that said, to clarify, I am not a good healer.
I am a passable healer for normal content.
Just to adjust your expectations.

The best part of leveling healer for me was seeing the other side of the fence, as I played Tank most of my time

Seeing what a healer wants from a tank helps a lot while tanking

And vice versa

Usually people are reasonably happy with that

The thing that makes it an inexact science is that what level you are changes a lot

Both for what you have to press to mitigate incoming damage, and the relative strenght of the enemies

SB dungeons are famous to hit harder than other expansions for example

To make an example tho, there is a massive gap in power between lvl 55 warrior and level 56 warrior

Because at 56 they get one of their strongest self healing abilities

And those gaps are there all over the game and for every class

There are some skills that when you get them, they just make you a lot stronger as a tank, and every class get those at different levels and such

I think that generally, 2 packs are never a danger for a tank if the healer is not sleeping, so that's a good safe rule

If after the 1st 2 packs you see you it's very easy, you can try to up it if the dungeon allow

The intention was definitely to put her in a place in which she was in over her head and overwhelmed with the resistence
Have her go throught the ||Doman liberation, taking inspiration from you, Hien, and the Twins|| to grow into her own, and now we are in the payoff part

I do feel like they maybe could have done a bit better with the set up to make her feel a bit less lost tho

Or maybe shorten that part a lil bit

Maybe have her feel a lot more ||crestfallen after the resistence was set back by Zenos and have her turn optimist as you were having success with Doma||, maybe even take charge of things more in that part, would have read a bit better to me.

Alternatively I would have liked a bit more 1 on 1 interaction between her and Hien, to clarify the arc a little bit more, like her ||explicitly saying "How do I liberate my people like you did with yours"||

It's not bad but it's an expansion with a lot of characters and I feel like her growth gets a bit lost in the shuffle between zones and characters

though i will be honest if there's one thing i miss its ||the banter. she and papalymo were always such a delight together. like i get why, and makin her the comic relief when she's the "focus character" would hurt the expansion so i get why thats moreso delegated to the twins, but i kinda hope that come post-sb or maybe shadowbringers lyse gets someone to bounce off of. we can make fun of thancred its fine or maybe get a new scion since its not like the writers are averse to it. estinien is skulking around, he can join permanently or somethin, he'd probably make a nice straight man to other's comedy. i dunno the silly lymo-yda moments are one of the things i miss from "simpler times" of arr since they were top tier and i was a fool for takin them for granted||

As for the rebellion angle, I liked it when it was in Eorzea, problem is that I never beel to Ala Migho or Doma so i didn't have a strong connection to the land that we were supposed to liberate, so it was up to the characters to make me care.
And they did a limited job of it, Hien did it better

i dunnoooo, ya see in my mind the set up for ala mhigo has been there from basically the start? when i say sb feels personally tailored i genuinely mean it. i started in uldah, so from the get go you have the refugees bein intrinsically linked. there's raubahn who is. waves at raubahn all that. i feel like i don't need to reiterate yet again how fond i am of "the uldah gang". the whole crux of arr monk questline revolves around your teacher being ala mhigan and monkness originating there (that is one pointed complain i have at stormblood; where the fuck is my man widargelt? in msq that is. i distinctly remember a popup making me swear to aid ala mhigo in arr mnk quest 45 or something, why did you sideline him this hard?). and ninja was my second job so of course i paid extra attention when yugiri first showed up and complimented my ninja training and doma got brought up. so to me, it feels like the game finally lets me help a land ive known was in trouble since early baby levels, on top of helping the other land i had proxy interest in bc hehe ninja go brrrr. so i already start on all that and you add all the cool stuff in this expansion like zenos delightfully curbstomping you and hien being charming as hell and lyse getting the story focus, yeah of course i personally am having a great time. its like they decided to take 80% of all my favorite parts and just. pack it tightly for my player pleasure. its like a dragoon main who had lancer as their first class having hw be their favorite expansion. like, of course you would.

also god murder aside the themes of rebellion and such just feel, more down to earth somehow? and ive always liked stories like that, one's that focus on some "smaller", more human scale. its like. stormblood being the dragon age 2 of expansions ya know

Thavniar, Doma, Ala Migho, Vylbrand, Ishgard, etc.
Some because you simply get foods or materials from there, some are mentioned in secondary quests or set up in different ways, Ala Mhigo and doma was the refugees.

Until I get there you have to give me a character with a strong connection to it to make me care, and they weren't able to do that successfuly wilt Ala Mhigo until perhaps the last stretch of SB, which is why i didn't feel as connected with SB

To elaborate with zero spoilers, I think there will be changes to the status quo you will actively dislike, but the writing is so damn strong that I don't think you'll dislike the expansion.

To compare it to SB in the most geeky way possible Stormblood is a hit for 10k damage that was an automatic crit for you, because you liked all the things to make that story work for you.

SHB might be the opposite, but the hit is like 100k damage

That's my expectation which could be completely wrong and the expansion might hit you completely different

It's essentially 450 Anemos crystals per piece (it's not exactly that, there is another type of crystals but you can exchange Anemos crystals for this other types of crystal with a 2-1, so I just converted the other type to Anemos, because they are the easier ones to farm)

So 5 pieces 2250 crystals.

You do fates in there, and each gives you between like 10, to 100+ crystals, depending on the level of the fate

The games gives you a ton if you just remember to extract materias from your gear and sell it on the market, or desynthetise what you drop and sell it

that's easy 30k+ a day for 3 minutes

I did learn recently that each of your summons has different initial attacks along with the cast and cooldown differences but ehhhhhhhhhhhhh that requires thinking
