Quick infodump on Quarn, focus the bees and the wasps because of final sting, or stun them if you see them casting.
It helps a lot
You got the 1st boss after the 1st wipe which is honestly par for the course for anyone that runs it
And the last boss the head, needs to be killed on one of the pedestal to prevent it ressurrecting
If you are taking, let a dps do it, it doesn't do much damage

But yeah, the one actual mistake is not waiting for the bard on the 2nd pull of the 1st boss, when you get there remember to check that everyone is near the gate.

You can get teleported in after 15 seconds but especially if someone is staying back, maybe the are about to write "1 sec"

To remind people how it works, the story floors you can matchmake (1-100 for POTD, 1-30 for the other deep dungeons)
To have access to the advanced floors, you have to start from the 1st level, and get there without having a single party wipe on a fixed party (so either solo or with a fixed group)

Of the ones currently available, machinist is relatively straightforward, it's basically use skills in the right rotation, and its burst phase is a very fast paced combination of attacks.
That said, because of that, it's not very lenient on high ping, I don't think you are looking to play it in savage content so it's not a problem but it's something to consider.
Bard is similar, plus it has 3 buffs to the whole party (songs) that you rotate, you basically always have one active, and what you have active changes how that bit is played, and slowly build to a bigger buff and a strong ranged attacks you can use.
And Dancer is a bit weird, it's based on procs, so basically your rotation changes based on some things that has a chance to happen.
For example using one skill might trigger another more powerful skill.
if it doesn't you continue your rotation, if it does you use that skill, and so on.
Bard also has some of that, but not nearly as much as DNC
It's a relatively unique playstile for this game
Plus has dances and shit that buff the party

Sometimes it gets better of you log out and log back in.
What seem to happen to me, if I log during a lag spike or during a big download that is fucking up my ping, the game seems to assign me to a node I have a bad connection with even after my line gets better.
Maybe it's a "he has 500 ping to all the servers, might as well pick one" situation, but when it gets resolved maybe I would have a better connection to some of the nodes but I am stuck with the bad one.

a note i have about my baby's first steps red mage; i have a really hard time adjusting to two button combos. with monk basically everything comes in 3s, n with ninja its like, 95% 3s too. red mage has like, what 3 two button combos? at least rn as in on lvl 50? it is drivin me insane bc im struggling to wrangle my hotbars into anything thats remotely coherent to me we will leave paladin aside bc its just. why does it have 2 button aoe n later ill get some sort of 4 button combo? apparently??

yes, but thats just one combo. monk has 2 alternatin 3 button lines, one 3 button aoe line, the chakras are in 3s, the meditation-perfect balance-perfect balance release is a trio ur pressin all the time, the riddle buffs are in 3. n the rest of the skills are just like. occasional sprinkles on top that i guess just have the benefit of me bein a monk main so i understand them easily

Ok, trying to remember how I set it up at lvl 50
On my 1 button I have jolt, and the AOE version with ctrl pressed
Then on my 2 and 3, I have the verthunder, and verfire
While on ctrl 2 and ctrl 3 ver aero and verstone
That way, If I am kinda panicking, I press 1 and I'm gonna do some damage.
With the execption of 1, I know that if I don't press ctrl I'm gonna get black mana, and if I press it I'm gonna get white mana
Apart from that, 2 and 3, are essentially the same skills than their ctrl counterparts
Then I have the aoe skills set up on another button, this one is a mouse button, but they follow the same logic of ctrl white mana, no ctrl black mana
My whole melee combo is on Q, that I would suggest not doing it that way
But I find myself okay with it
I do Q - ctrl Q - Alt Q for my burst melee
This feels relatively comfortable to me, but I don't play RDM very optimally, it's a set up that it's easy to get back to since I don't play it a lot

- A bunch of secondary directions for the pedestals that can be ignored but new people might not know that.
- Very minor, but some ranged enemies which can throw a new tank off.

It's actually not that bad, I suggest starting with WHM since you have a lot of "oh shit" buttons if you, like me, start to forget that you are playing a healer during bosses
And have to quickly make up for lost time
SCH i like since especially for early dungeons, the fairy does most of the work in bosses
But you have to work harder for big pulls, and the class is much more complicated

The main reason I think I struggle with healing is because I'm a clicker
while I use 1-0 on my hotkey bar, I need my mouse sometimes to fill my functions out
the mouse is also how I select targets to heal
which can be too slow

And I usually focus the tank when I'm healing
So if I need to throw a quick heal towards them it's a couple of presses away
I do mostly click to select the other targets if I need to
Usually if some dps are hurt you are better off with just throwing an aoe heal tho
Will also heal the tank, and if it's medica 2 also leave a regen which will help with future fuckups
As a sidenot, I strongly suggest to set Q and E and some of the other buttons around ASDW
Rather than some of the farther to reach numbers
This helped me a ton to get into the habit of clicking less skills

Going over I'm not sure, I managed to clear 130 but that's as far as I got
The story ends at lvl 100 tho, after they are hardmode levels for bragging rights and a title if you finish it
