Shaman tank is seeming to be pretty viable in season of Discovery given the amount of spells and runes they're getting. It was already pretty good, even without the runes at least at the lower levels. But given the amount of new stuff they're getting, I think even as a mail class they're going to have enough defensives as well as passive defense that they will do just fine. Mage on the other hand is only getting one rune to help with healing so I wouldn't really mark them down as a healer unless they make that one particular rune insanely good because most of their healing is going to come through damage so I don't know. I think if Shaman tank proves to be very good and popular with this season, I think it will become a tank in retail eventually and split enhancement like they had with druids splitting feral into guardian and feral.

That makes them a good choice for running older content too because it affects sprints and you can probably make it 100% uptime with:
Sprint increases movement speed by an additional 30% and has 4 sec increased duration. and Reduces the cooldown of Sprint by 60 sec. talents.
Hmm, I should play around with them and see if I can make a speed set for older dungeons just for the fun of it.

Hmm, so there was one heroic dungeon that gave out whelpling crests for doing during S2 and that was the mega dungeon... I wonder if that'll still be the case because if so that'll be the easiest way to get crests and flightstones to start out with. Upgrading items up to 450 costs only flightstones, and...I'm not sure what ilvl the whelpling crests will push up to but I know it'll be above 460, which is great to start with going in M+ for up to the new "easy standard" which will likely be the same as season 2 with +11 and +13 for crests and gear respectively.
I'm not sure what the heroic mega dungeon will give out in terms of base ilvl gear because the regular heroic dungeons started at like 386 (upgradable to... I forgot... 411?) and the mega dungeon heroic was 402 (up to 424) So in theory with an double up on increasing the seasons ilvl... hmm... heroic dungeons should be like... 411 upgradable to 437...? and the mega dungeon should be... 424 to... 450? I might be wrong about the starting ilvl for it but I think 450 will be the max from that dungeon on heroic which would be great catchup for alts.
The trinkets and weapons will still be good for a lot of classes/specs
In any case, 437 is free now. Only costs flightstones which are easy to get.
Oh! There's a big question going on... So, this week is timewalking warlords apparently... The question is, will it still be raid gear from AB or will it be from the new raid? I can see arguments from either way. My feeling is that it will be from the S2 raid, sadly. However, I do believe that if Blizzard wants to players to engage with the content they should make it from the new raid to give players a taste of what's to come.
One piece of gear from the normal raid to start with isn't going to break everything. Most of the time you end up with a neck or ring or whatever and you can't get the legendary from it
It's in their best interests to make it from the new raid I think, but they won't.
Heck, if it's such a big deal they could even just make it from the LFR raid just for the first week since that'd still be better than giving a normal AB cache.

What's interesting is that S2 M+ is still active. I got a new key. Wonder if you can still get the achievements still after decking out in 450+ gear...
Timewalking dungeons still only drops S2 - 389 ilvl gear so don't do that for gear. M0, and heroic dungeons I'm assuming are the same but I'll try them out.
So, the heroic mega dungeon drops S2 - 402 ilvl gear too, so no upgrades there yet. However, what was interesting is that it drops the new crests, but instead of 5 per boss you only get two. Not worth it I think. People immediately left after the first boss.
And the TW dungeon I joined was after the first boss was killed. FOUR people, minus the tank had left it looked like. So me and three others joined.
Going to be an interesting week on the forums for sure.
I suppose they really just want people to focus on the new zone this week, which is no problem for me!

SAVE one token that normally gives 2500 rep until you get to renown 9.99 so with the boosts you should get to like 12.5 from one token.
Emerald dream rep tokens don't take long to get. So I'd say it's worth it!

I will say that doing everything day 1 I'm at renown 7. So I think renown 10 should be possible next week with the superbloom (1100 rep) and the next story chapter? Remains to be seen but I'd be surprised if we can't. 7500 rep next week shouldn't be hard.
Somehow I got 17500 rep from doing all the quests, events and world quests. I think 7 renown is pretty good in the first week!
Also, there's some pretty good side quests. Love some of the characters. You'll see what I mean.
So I think the best method then on character 1 is to do everything week 1 with DMF. Wait on week 2 until the anniversary and do everything again on character 1. That should get that character to 10. THEN follow my idea I already shared for character 2.

They should just consolidate all the tracks into one. Higher content = further into the track the gear is. The upgrade portion I'm not sure about how to handle that if they keep a track system from low-end to high-end content

One upgrade token (still limited by how many you get per week) - Lower-end content gives fewer, higher = more. Further into track = more crests (maybe) and you can only upgrade a piece after getting certain milestone achievements for doing content? Mythic raiding/M+16 = unlocking last part of the track? Oh... interesting... What if they locked off portions of the track like I said that unlocks as you progress in difficult content?
Not sure. Probably a bad idea in practice. Idk, I just don't like 1000 different tokens to keep an eye on and think about.
That would make the track basically 1/...24...? or something silly which seems a bit much.
and maybe people would feel less inclined on upgrading pieces if they saw such a big number for having to upgrade... Anyway, I think the whole system needs a do-over, again.

Eh, it probably will but I think you're also overthinking it a bit. They understandably don't want people to do just one type of content and then be able to upgrade to the highest of the high gear. I mean like in your idea, just one token for everything but going from explorer 1 to mythic max would be like 5000 crests and take weeks and weeks to do. Splitting up into these tracks at least gives you a good idea what the upper limit of what you're doing is and what else you need to do to continue easier gearing. I mean yes, you technically CAN upgrade crests to the next tier now but you need a certain minimum ilevel in every slot
I think they'll keep this and at most tweak it to have maybe 2-3 tracks instead of 4-5

I have to agree with the youtuber I watched the other day: the base preorder is good, the middle tier is not worth the extra money, the top tier is actually worth it if you like the mount because you also get 30 days of game time with all the other goodies.
So you basically wind up with the base game ($60 USD), 30 days of game time ($15 USD), and then the other stuff for $15 USD.

Regarding the new account-wide Warbands system, they want to find the proper balance between allowing account-wide progression without making it gameable - there shouldn't be an advantage to running 20 alts. They're still working out the details, but they're keen to ensure that the best way to do renown isn't the worst way to play by grinding the same activity a dozen times in one day with different alts.

Since you only need 5 for the quest a week, the superbloom and weekly turn-ins is usually all you need.
There's also another thing that happens where you can get multiple seeds (forgot the name) that's on a timer.
Gear prices for 415 pieces or higher have been dropping on my realm like crazy. I saw a 421 2h axe for 200g.

I think having just one profession maxed out is fun enough, even at a net-loss. It feels nice to be spec'd into something even if you don't plan on using it to do public/private orders much.
There's a guy on my realm that has everything maxed and every pattern. He spams all day.

I've not been able to max out any Dragonflight professions yet. I think my Leatherworker is the highest, but I hit a wall where I couldn't level up any further.
I might be able to max out this Inscription character, since I was able to very easily skill up to 65 without putting many points into the specialization stuff.
Once I go around gathering all those points, I should be able to unlock more stuff with skillups.

Profession system is a net positive over the previous iteration, but obviously it needs a bit more tuning, mostly in the public/private order sector.

The current plan is for The War Within to have its own version of the existing Profession talents system, so players who really love professions will be able to learn talents, spec into specialized things, and use the Work Order system in the next expansion.
The Work Order system is confirmed to carry forward, though they've heard a lot of player feedback and so they're looking for ways to make them better.
Archaeology is a profession that needs a lot of love. Nothing to say right now, but stay tuned - there's stuff in the works.

That was the problem, I didn't pick the right options in the specialization trees, so I didn't have the recipes people wanted. And now folks are done with that content, so I doubt I can push through it.

I kinda think they could use the Delve system for Archaeology when they revamp the world. Have Delves be tied right into it, you get the tokens for the various cultures depending on which Delve you're going into.

Hmm, I didn't think of the mythic thing. That's likely a bug that will be fixed. I have no doubt people brought this to their attention. I don't think it's a waste if you do want a good set of 450 to start with. I'd be surprised if it isn't fixed considering the catalyst portion is bugged too. Don't count it a waste yet.
I think it'd be good on your main at the very least because it won't take nearly as many flightstones and crests. You won't replace it until you got at least a 2pce s3 set.
I've heard doing m0 gives decent flightstones so we could recover quickly if you really needed them bad.
