Beats me why they decided BFA was the default. Honestly they need a Classic playlist (vanilla through wrath), a middle playlist (cata through wod), a more modern playlist (legion & bfa) and finally the latest expansion's with a note on general difficulty to be expected from each playlist on top of the normal/heoric modifier when selecting the playlist they want to do.

BfA was also basically the most "modern" xpac when the decision was made, meaning it had less jank than some of the older content. Blizz wanted to show off the clean environments, and never considered that dungeons made as endgame content might be inappropriate for newbies.

I used to tank as Blood back in Cata, did a bunch of Heroic dungeons, a little LFR.

Blood is scary, because you have almost no damage mitigation. Instead, you are actively using abilities to self-heal and hoping you can keep up until the healer tops you off.

Still, it's some of the most fun I've ever had in WoW.

Sabellion took a flight of black dragons into Outland to escape Neltharion's madness. But it's still unclear how he stayed free of corruption, and a few questlines imply either he hadn't, or did something unspeakable in order to accomplish it.

Nok is considered the next easiest after those two? I've been struggling with the 2nd boss on high keys during tyrannical. Pugs keep spreading out or all popping their defensives for the first storm or panicking and overlapping the circles because they missed an orb that's about to hit the boss, etc... So perhaps it's easier in a good coordinated group?

So, they fixed quaking for the worm boss in Shadow where it can't overlap during the inhale mechanic and kill your group

But they didn't fix it for the 3rd boss in azure where you have to stack during the big aoe part.

So it's been bricking keys this week

Everyone would have to pop all their defensives and be full health to maybe live it on a +20. But it's a very unfortunate overlap that can happen.

That ring I got from the vault boosted my dps quite a bit. I didn't attack the last boss much in 20 shadow and got to 15k just using a instant living flame and fire breath on cd. I'm curious to what I can push if I focus mainly on dps.

Ring accounts for 5% it looks like from that whole run. That's not too shabby for passive on a ring.

So they do the power leveling at nokhold in the west. I started out at 62 with full rested and am now 67 after an hour. It did take some time for them to find a phase that wasn't being farmed by others though so take that as you will. It cost me 160k which I think is ehhh but at least they didn't take the gold and run.

I'm considering race changing from an orc to vulpera. I know that'd probably be considered sacrilege to the horde to do such a thing though.

Okay now that they're on a good pace I went from 67-68 in 12 minutes.

I basically spent all of BC leveling, Wrath came out before I hit 70. I managed to hit 80 during the last patch of Wrath, mostly doing Argent Tournament stuff. Cata was the first time I could do real end-game stuff thanks to Dungeon Finder and LFR.

And Pandaria, I was all-in on playing through that xpac. I adored it.

I do want to see the void being the one to help aid us against the light at some point. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense in terms of how most would view the two but they've always made the two seem very ambiguous so having that twist wouldn't be too much of a stretch. Especially if we started out being against the void, found their intentions to not be what they seem and then get the twist of the light trying to spread its influence in the same way it tried to on Illidan and had to stop it. Making the light not evil in a true sense but still doing things that are considered bad acts.

Well, so far they've been hinting that the Light can be just as destructive as the Void. So I expect a future xpac will involve trying to find a way to force a stable balance between the two.

For sure. Dark Iron Dwarf mage/hunter w/ that and nitro boost would be insane. On my hunter I had a azerite set and was doing Uldaman in 3 1/2 minutes fully clearing it while I was farming for very rare transmog.

Druid is probably still the king though. I just don't feel like leveling up another one just to get an azerite set...

Yeah, I get that. I have a hard time playing with alts once I do the content I want to do on my main. I don't know if I want to mount/transmog farm and do min stuff until the next patch cycle or what; I'm at that point now. Playing alts of a different role and/or class can be fun but the content itself is still the same to me, so that level of excitement of playing an alt diminishes much quicker than the 1st time through on the main. I kind of want to do classic again just to try Ulduar but I don't want to join a guild there and leave them hanging because I want to play the next major retail patch, which leaves me in a little bit of limbo right now.

I will say that this is definitely the longest I've gone playing retail without taking breaks and I think I can contribute that to you guys keeping me interested. If I stop playing regularly y'all can still hmu for whatever if you need help; helping probably has been the most fun I've had while playing this game. Like the last really fun thing to me was doing the Tazavesh run; I don't even care about the mount.

apparently you can get the G.M.O.D mount on LFR from Jaina according to several WoWhead comments. Which would mean you can skip Opulence.

Yep! Looks like the mount from the Mechagon dungeon that you get for doing hardmode is 100% soloable. There is a some cheese required for the last boss and some more cheese that is optional but makes the 4th boss trivial. I'm more than willing to help you guys out if you haven't gotten around to getting this mount yet! The 4th boss has a one shot mechanic that you can out range by jumping over the gate and running to near the entrance. Once the annihilation ability goes off you just run back to the boss and click the zapper thing until it disables the boss and then you kill him. The last boss you just have to reset immediately before you're locked in with him. During phase 2 you click the red button at 20% of the boss' health annnnd the mount is yours!

Idk if you have unlocked the Mechagon zone on your characters, Masque but here's the guide I used to get the dungeon unlocked: https://www.wowhead.com/guide/mechagon-junkyard-tinkering#quest-unlocking-mechagon-part-1 - Took me about ~50ish minutes.

The only thing I don't know is if the mount is personal loot or group loot... I think it may be group loot so I'd have to take y'all through one at a time over the course of a couple weeks.

So, I had terrible insomnia last night. Did the opening of the Netherwing quest, got Revered. Kept questing to try and get more rep, ran into the "find an egg" quest and after an hour of grinding mobs gave up.

I don't remember if you need to do the egg quest to do the rest of the quests but doing every other quest including the racing ones got me 2/3 to exalted

I think that could just be because the people who just want the skin are doing it immediately and have the same mindset of wanting to avoid others who don't really care about learning the mechanics and are just trying to face roll through the boss until its dead.

Btw, TBC dungeons are considered the best to do for timewalking in terms of speed apparently. I think i have to agree because during legion I was getting through maybe 5 dungeons an hour depending on the dungeon we got. This time around I've been able to get into almost 10 with some decent luck.

So if there's anytime to try and snag the timewalking drake, I suppose now is the time... although it's drop rate is something like 1/4000...

Imma still try a few a day to test my luck though!

If you notice a person in that LFR group getting a piece of gear you need and they're overgeared themselves and have a better piece for that slot don't be too shy to ask them if they'd be willing to trade it. I had a guy ask me for 2 pieces in the timewalking BT I did and I just traded them over.

If they say they need it for transmog just shrug it off and move on.

There's plenty of people who will be overgeared doing LFR for the essences, catalyst charges or the last boss mount skin

Side-note: if you're not Exalted with Aldor or Scryers in BC, now's the time to do it. Arcane Tomes are fairly cheap, and I had a bunch of Sunfury Signets from running BC dungeons to get Org rep previously.

The 50% rep bonus applies to the turn-ins.

Good time to get the nether rays or talbuks from the reps too. Both of those take a couple hours each to do atm which isn't too bad.

Of course that's without competition though...

I've decided each week I will tackle one specific raid/dungeon to send my alt armies to in order to farm the specific mount there. That should knock some of these mounts out of the way a better pace without over doing things and doing every raid on every alt each week.

Yes, I have some tips for that, that should greatly help you. 1) Do every quest that pops up for that day. There's a lot of non-repeatable quests to do. One of the quests requires some items you need to buy from the AH but they weren't too expensive for me. I can give a link for that if you wish. Doing all those quests on the first day got me to like 15k out of 21k for exalted I think?

Yeah, that's the flying boss. I needed to take advantage of using the flying to get across the bridge part so I didn't have time to loot.

So I knew for that one mount it'd show up in the mail xD

Those non-repeatable quests took me a little over an hour to do because there's a lot of flying involved. One of the quests requires you to kill a dinosaur in the nether place and another couple require you to go to the far west of Nagrand. But if you do them all, you should be left with only having to do the dailies for a couple days after to finish up!

There's a couple hidden quests too that give decent or really good rep too

One hidden quest is in the mines. You have to kill the tar goopy mobs. They drop an item that you can open up that has a chance to give you a quest. Doing the small chain quests gives like 1k+ rep. Another hidden quest requires that you kill a giant mob with scythes for arms (forgot the names of those mobs) and he will give a quest that requires that you kill another different mob of the same type. I don't remember how much that one gives.

Reading up on Netherwing:

Through a bit of luck and misfortune I found out something interesting. When you are working on rep for this faction on the floating island in the south east, you are in costume. While in costume if you mount a Traveller's Tundra Mammoth, it will look like a drake, but you can still access the vendors. You can even fly and still access the vendors.

Here is the bad mojo part. Don't fly beyond the edge of the region that keeps you in costume or your mount reverts to normal and for some reason mammoth's can't fly.

Sadly this was fixed later.

Looks like the Ulduar trick to be able to skip to the last boss on all your alts does in fact still work. It's been years since I tried.

Disable all addons (for logging in faster) 2) Kill all the bosses except the last on your 1st character. 3) Make a group in group finder. 4) Log into alt to sign up 5) log back to other character to invite 6) log back to alt to accept 7) get to ulduar before automatically becoming the lead 8) Teleport to last boss 9) wait until you become the lead 10) kick the character that started the group 11) kill boss 12) rinse and repeat.

1. Solo puzzle dungeons, you get keys from rares & other events to go further into each dungeon for rewards.
2. ilvl 405 ring first time you go into one of the vaults, can be upgraded with Primordial Stones from chambers in the solo dungeons
3. Forbidden Reach has lots of stuff to do; lots of Elemental Overflow as rewards
4. Pick a faction each day, get 10% bonus rep that day to that faction
5. BOA catchup gear, ilvl 385 Primal Storms gear or Storm's Fury accessories, can be upgraded to 395 (very green coloration)
6. Artisan's Curio recipes for Professions, no idea what they do yet
7. Speculation that Baine gets a big story vs. centaur
8. Human & Orc heritage armor, color variations have been datamined, orc clan banners
9. Zul'gurub & Naxxramas transmogs and profession recipes, not clear if these will drop with 10.0.7

Woo! A GM responded to my ticket and I received the battleplans that didn't drop off of Illidan for 500 badges! Seems like it's a widespread issue that they're working on.

Now I just need 2225 for the mount...

Probably looking at 55-60 more dungeons, oof.
