NCR has lost a bit to them and would love to remove a threat from their flank, BoS proper doesn't trust the leadership, Caeser sees them as a threat before and after the Hover Dam assault, House sees them as a threat to his main means of security, and if they want to survive at all, they have to pick a side.

If you have any items you want with specific Legendary rolls, it's best to try and roll some 3-stars now. When the new season starts Sep 3, it'll be cheaper to reroll the 1st and 2nd star than to try and get the 3rd star you want.

This means that Legendary Cores will no longer be usable across Appalachia. After the update, events that currently drop Legendary Cores will drop Legendary Modules instead. Any unspent Legendary Cores will be converted into Legendary Scrip at a 1:1 conversion ratio when Milepost Zero releases.

tl;dr Legendary Modules are expensive to buy and going to be more expensive after the patch (100 Scrip instead of 50). But the Rusty Pick vendor will still sell random 3-star legendaries for 100-120 Scrip, much cheaper than buying three modules and crafting even now. And all your Legendary Cores are going to convert 1:1 to Scrip at the update.
So if you're just looking to craft Legendaries to scrap in the hopes of getting a plan unlock for an effect, you're probably better off waiting and blowing your Scrip on randoms after the patch.

Legendary Scrip Limit
The maximum of legendary scrip will be increased to 11,000.
This currency will be adapted for the new legendary crafting and can also accommodate the legendary cores, which will be converted 1:1 into legendary scrip.
Legendary cores are no longer needed and are converted 1:1 into legendary scrip, hence the increase in the limit to 11k (max 5k former legendary cores + max 6k legendary scrip).
Legendary modules are now junk items and can be stored in the scrapbox. The weight has also been reduced to 0.15 and can be reduced even further to 0.04 with the pack rat perk. The Scraprat-Backpack currently doesn't reduce the weight, what hopefully will be changed.

No, they drop dead, but if you ignore them for too long they just despawn instead of turning into a meat pile.
Or if you kill too many enemies in one area, it forces them to become meat piles to cut down on graphic information. So if you go on a killing spree, you could lose items to them despawning instead of becoming meat piles.

So apparently the whole "Best Builds" feature is causing some controversy. Some shit camps are getting likes just because of the current Challenges, while some other camps are going days now with very little interaction.
If you submit a Best Build camp, it goes into a list. Apparently, every server will pull from this list and populate at least 3 of these BB camps onto the server if there aren't enough online. These "phantom" camps appear on the server so people can visit them, but with any Vendor disabled (since the player is offline).
Some players have done a bit of digging, and it seems that the issue is that the affected camps are likely in zones where lots of people put their camps while playing (preventing the "ghost" camps from ever appearing), or are just so far off the beaten path no one ever visits them.

During Milepost Zero PTS testing and release, we made some focused changes to Vaccinated, Iron Stomach, Thirst Quencher, and Natural Resistance perks to make these generally underperforming cards more interesting and easier to incorporate into your builds. We did this by removing the extra ranks, lowering the cards cost, and changing the card’s effect to scale with the related primary stat.
In today’s PTS update, we’re continuing this process by modifying more Perk cards with the same design goals in mind. This batch of changes primarily focuses on Endurance cards, but you’ll also see some changes to a few cards in the other stat categories.

Analog Input Several screens didn’t support analog inputs to navigate the UI, so that analog functionality has been added to the Favorites Wheel and Social Panel. C.A.M.P. Pets
Say hello to two new fuzzy friends who will help bring your C.A.M.P, to life! We’re excited to bring C.A.M.P. Pets to Fallout 76 starting with a Cat and a Dog. And yes, you can pet them.
You can find your C.A.M.P. Pet in the newly updated DWELLERS workshop tab and spawn them by placing the corresponding spawning furniture for the cat or dog - a cat bed and a doghouse.
Once placed, the animals will follow you around your C.A.M.P., idly walk, sit in their furniture and use their own cat scratcher or digging in their doggy bone mound. The latter furniture items must be placed before they will use them, and currently are found in the MISC workshop tab.
C.A.M.P. Pets will not follow you in the world - they are just that - a C.A.M.P. pet! You cannot have more than one at a time, but you can have one pet and one ally in your C.A.M.P.. They will not, however, be available in your Shelter.
To interact with your new friend, walk up to them and press the interaction buttons that you see when they are close. "Interact" for Pet Commands, "Customize" for Dress Up, and "Edit Name" to call them what you'd like (other players will NOT see your pet's name).
Through Pet Commands you can have them sit, speak, and of course, pet them through an emote style window.
Dress up your pet by crafting their collars at the Armor Workbench in the Headwear section, then use the "Customize" interaction to place them on your friend.
As well as being a cute dweller in your C.A.M.P., they will also bring you an item every so often! This Pet Treasure system allows your fuzzy friend to show their love for you by bringing you a little treat!
We hope you enjoy the C.A.M.P. Pet feature as much as we did creating it!

It's not a bad choice for starting out. Be sure to pick up the Concentrated Fire perk when you can, that lets you target limbs. Shotguns are great for crippling legs, so the monster can't get close to you.

If people can forgive NMS for its launch (changes to steam too for false advertisement in places) and praise it for going beyond getting to a good state (a lot of free updates), then folks should accept a similar thing for 76. Same happened with 2077 (which literally bricked PS4s and had to stop sales on platforms for a bit).

From the comments, if you have one of the cards that has multiple ranks but is dropping to 1 or 2 points, you'll get duplicates of the new card. So if you had a card at Rank 3, but the new version only has 1 rank, you'll wind up with three Rank 1 versions of the new card.

yeah, windmill and fusion generator drop from there, along with the Medium and Large generators IIRC. Small comes from an early quest.
There are ways you can buy the plans later on, but doing Powering Up <plant> is really the best way.

Be sure to break down any weapons or armor you get at a workbench. That's how you learn plans to modify them. If you break down Legendaries, you can either get a box to apply a specific Legendary mod to another items, or learn the plans to make your own Legendary mods.

Hey F76 folks, what's your way to get lots of caps? I've started building out more water purifiers at my CAMP to get some easy caps that way, but if y'all have any suggestions I'd love to hear em.

Purified water, cook + sell food, sell any weapons/armor you don't need to scrap, and if you get any chems/bobbleheads those can sell really well in your vendor (used for crafting certain Legendary mods).
The real money is in farming things people use regularly and selling that from your vendor, but it can be dull.

right, that makes sense. I've not setup a vendor yet, but selling chems/plans sounds like a decent way to make some amount of caps instead of just leaving them in the stash.

Scrapping a Legendary weapon or armor has a chance to drop a module, and a VERY small chance to teach you the recipe to make one of the mods.
If you buy or receive a module, you can attach it to the proper item for a cost, and each time you replace something in that slot on the same item the cost increases.
So if you swap out the second star on a weapon, it will cost more to swap that second star again.

Supply payout for helping caravans have been increased:
Helping Small Caravans: 4 Supplies, 3 Scrip, Stimpaks, Contextual Ammo (increased amounts). Helping Medium Caravans: 12 Supplies, 4 Scrip, Stimpaks, Contextual Ammo (increased amounts). Helping Large Caravans: 20 Supplies, 5 Scrip, Stimpaks, Contextual Ammo (increased amounts). Failing a Caravan will give you 3 supplies instead of 1 now.
Might be worth yoloing caravans now if you get three for failing (I don't know for sure though).

From your inventory, there's a "Deposit all Junk" button. But you can't automatically move from the Stash to the Scrapbox. You'll have to pull all the stuff in your Junk category from the Stash, then you can dump it all in the Scrapbox.

I don't know if the fusion core charger is available on the atom store, but that might help if you go through cores regularly enough.
As for food, it depends on your mutations, but the birthday cake might be something to consider if they bring it back (FO 76 release is next week). Up to 8 slices and comes with a CHR bonus.

I know this channel is mainly about Fallout 76 but I want to say I played a long fight to get Far Harbor DLC in Fallout 4 to work for me. I finished the main story, then wanted to go to DLCs. Unfortunately it seems like I picked up the clues that trigger the steps in the quest that begins it not in the right order. I left the game for like a year, but recently decided to come back and play the DLCs I have. I read up online that I need Nick to be with me when I talk to the people that would take me on a boat. Unfortunately Nick Valentine was nowhere to be found. Eventually I found him in one of my random settlements but I wasn't able to start conversation with him. I found a super old save and found him there again and this time he followed me. But visiting Nakano residence and talking with owners who should start DLC did nothing. Without starting the game from the beginning I don't have an option to start this DLC, but I came to peace with it. I know I tried and I know Bethesda is Bethesda and console is console. But I know I tried and before I am done exploring the Commonwealths undiscovered secrets will be a blast as it always was and Nuka Cola World will put a bowtie on the excellent time I had with Fallout 4

F76 is online-only. You'll actually bump into other players, take part in events with them, and visit their camps. Speaking of which, the feature from F4 that lets you create custom bases? You can do those pretty much wherever you want in F76, lots of customization.

PVP has to be consensual. If someone attacks you and you do not respond, you take only 10% of the damage being thrown. I think people can take your stuff on PVP death, but I haven't seen it for myself.
Most of the trolls either keep to themselves or have abandoned the game at some point.

The only real danger is if someone decides to nuke your base, but like, that's never happened.
Fair warning that Workshops are PvP enabled, even if you are on pacifist.

Yeah, as they said, you can turn on Pacifist Mode and no one can hurt you... unless you've claimed a Workshop (fixed locations with resources), that enables PvP while you're inside it.
Even if you do die in PvP, the only thing you drop is Junk (aka building resources). You won't lose your actual gear.
The one bad thing players can do is drop a nuke on your camp. But all that means is that you have to repair everything, and it's rare that someone will waste the time to do that (the process of dropping a nuke is time consuming).

You can't really steal from CAMPs. People can certainly lock down resource generating items (and that would count), but most people tend to leave those up and running for folks to grab if they want.
Player shops are a thing and there are Shelters, which you can get for yourself if you know where to look (check billboards in train stations).

Some things are global to players. I think things in chests and other loot containers are for you only, while everything else is global until it is picked up or despawns.
And you can quit wherever. You should spawn at or near it, depending on where you are.

In my experience any collectors and generators are up for grabs* unless it's locked, then only take if you have the skill and don't have the morals
*take what you need don't be greedy
Also you'll see community chests around, take whatever you want from those but it's encouraged to leave something behind, especially something of equal or greater value

Oh, also: on the main screen, you'll notice things labeled Challenges and Seasons.
Challenges are daily, weekly, and general tasks you can complete in the game. The Dailies and Weeklies reward "S.C.O.R.E." points. Those points help you level up your Season, which works like a scoreboard in games like Fortnite. As you rank up, it grants Tickets you can use to unlock items you can claim for your account. Most of them are skins for weapons/armor, or items you can build in your Camp.
Normally I'd recommend not claiming anything (except the free items) until you hit rank 100. Because you can't unlock everything without grinding past rank 100, so it's better to save up your Tickets for the items you want.
However, the season ends in early December, so at this point just snag anything on the first page or two that looks interesting & you have the Tickets for.
Right now, there's a special event going on, "Invaders from Beyond". You'll see it pop up at the top of every hour. If you pull up your map, there's an option in the lower left to join the event.
It's fun, lots of good loot. The aliens are tough at low level, but you can just shoot them once or twice, as long as you do some damage, and let the higher level players finish them off, you'll still get credit.

tl;dw Dissipating does not work while you're actively taking radiation damage, it just helps you heal radiation damage away when not actively being irradiated. A full set of Dissipating armor heals about half as fast as a maxed-out What Rads? Legendary Perk, but the Legendary Perk can heal you while you're being irradiated, so it's better overall. Recommendation is that if you don't want What Rads? just put one piece of Dissipating on your armor for some minor passive Radiation healing while you're out & about, but it won't help if you're in Radiation Rumble or a nuke zone.

Be sure to at least do the Settler quests. There's some unique rewards there. Each half has a point-of-no-return where you have to pick a side to journey with to finish the questline, but before you hit that point, you can do each side's quests for rewards.
The game will warn you when you hit that point, and you can back off to go do the other side until you get the same warning. Then you can back off and go tell the Raiders it's time to finish & do the quest with them.
Be warned that if you do choose the Raiders for that final set of quests, it's very buggy. People have had to restart certain missions because people just don't spawn in, etc.

Like, in the one where you have to save that kid for the super mutant, there's a bug where at the final door theres two protectrons you have to kill for the kid to open the door, but sometimes they just don't spawn from their tubes
Turns out they do spawn from the tubes, the tubes just don't open for some reason, and I figured this out by shooting the doors, making the protectrons clip out of them in anger

Like, they refuse to attack foundation for some reason, many of the members say they only attack people they think deserve it, they're more open to mutants than 90% of Fallout factions, and I've yet to see them go on an actual "raid"
Hell the Test Your Metal event seems to imply they're even friendly enough with the brotherhood, at least the crater raiders

yeah, Crater Raiders have realized if they want a stable society, they have to tone it down a bit. They did attack Foundation at first, but right now they're basically in a cold war status of just grumbling at each other, because they don't have the strength to take down Foundation.

What it let's you do, for clarity, is lock your character or the camera and move only the object with more precision.
Doing that also slows the object rotation, at least on PC.

We’ve reduced the radius in which screen flash effects appear for a multitude of explosions throughout the game. This is purely a visual change and does not impact the radius in which damage is dealt.
Creatures that previously used player weapons (Blood Eagles, Cultists, Lost, Mole Miners, Raiders, Scorched, and Super Mutants) will now use NPC versions of their weapons with balance adjustments to account for this change (see notes below).
When defeated these enemies will have a chance to drop the base version of their weapon alongside some junk items. When a weapon isn’t dropped, the enemy will instead drop more junk items that players can scrap to make up for the loss components you would receive from scrapping these weapons. Increases have also been made to the components earned from scrapping many junk items in the world, so now you will also have more components at your disposal.
We have also increased the rate at which you learn mods from scrapping weapons by 10% to account for the lower number of weapons you’ll find from these NPCs. This increase will not affect your chance to learn Legendary weapon mods.
These enemies also now scale to level 100 properly so, uh, good luck.
These creatures will generally be less threatening at mid-level (especially 35-75) but should be a bit tougher towards level 100. In some cases, at lower level, these creatures may be slightly weaker or stronger in order to ensure that they’re appropriately engaging even when first met.

The general rule of thumb is that the first person into an area triggers the enemies to spawn. So if a high level person goes in first, and the system rolls a legendary spawn, you're more likely to get a 3-star or 4-star legendary.

That's my understanding. Enemies generally scale to your level, but the legendary spawns are either fixed ("Leader of the Pack") or have a chance to spawn higher for higher level players.

tl;dr It's so broke they're disabling Holiday Scorched entirely, but not cancelling the event. You can still place Santatron, you can still wrap packages. As compensation, every day you'll be able to log in to the Atomic Shop to claim free Gift Wrap:
