Completely the same, even though the outside world has progressed. Originally the lore was that you had to leave the Vault because it was going to seal itself after 24 hours and then shut off the air handlers, so if you stayed you'd just die. This was how Vault-Tec was going to force the survivors to go reclaim Appalachia.
But once the timeline progressed in the main game, that kinda... didn't make sense. So they retconned it to say that a few people just refused to go outside until after the original storyline was over. The actual starting experience is no different though.

It's fine. You can just point to Obsidian's works since then and no one is really happy, even with their choice of engine, topic, and total control.
F3 would need a lot of work and it wouldn't be a remaster at that point. As for NV, you can't remake or remaster it since so much of that is wrapped up as it is now (plus nostalgia; ||also the TV show probably picking a definite ending||).

Yeah, this one is a random drop from the new Fasnacht starting Tuesday.
A lot of the others are either from other events, or you can buy them for Gold from Crater/Foundation at appropriate levels of reputation with them.
But the Atom Shop versions are the unlock for the whole account, while Gold/drop versions are just for the character that unlocks the plan.

Yeah, there are machines in Crater & Foundation where you can turn in up to 40 notes at a time (so 400 Gold / day max).
I prefer Foundation for that, since it's just one fast-travel, while Crater's is indoors so you have to FT and then another loading screen to go inside.

They are based on a mix between horse shoe crabs and blue crabs in 3&4, The hunters are based on lobsters, and the king was based on an extinct species. In NV the lake lurk is based on the creature of the black lagoon.
You may be thinking of the Ogua from 76, wich is based on not only a snapping turtle, but West Virginia folklore from the 80s.

The lake lurk is referred to a ‘snapping turtle’ variant (didn’t know until now there’s 2 wikis) but one also states the creature of the black lagoon. Based on picture alone, I belive it’s fair to say that any mention of it being a “snapping turtle” was to try to make it seem like it makes sense lore wise, but it’s really a sort of Easter egg
And the king is thought to be a frog in one because of the feet, and the extinct animal on the other, but based on the extinct animal, I’d say that seems most reliable. Anywho, see ya

Mischief Night is getting revised and finally making its return.
Legendary crafting is getting revamped to give you more control over which legendary effects you roll. You can scrap Legendary items to earn Legendary Particles as well as learn specific Legendary mods. You can add specific Legendary mods to an item by either crafting it yourself with a Module and a Particle, or trading with another player, then just modding it onto the item.
Adding a mod like this will make the item character-bound, and each mod added on will make the next one more expensive. They are apparently relaxing the restrictions on Legendary effects on weapons (likely allowing new combinations that were previously unavailable on certain weapon types).
This is on the PTS now, will release fully later in the year.
Looks like they're also rebalancing Fire/Poison DoTs to make them more useful, as well as adjusting more monsters.
Ah, and Railway Rifle is getting its recoil and AP cost reduced... but the Auto receiver is having its fire rate reduced & its AP cost reduction is being removed, so automatics will be less viable.
Bosses are getting buffed so that DoTs and Critical Hits no longer bypass their Damage Reduction.

Every time you scrap a Legendary item you will obtain Legendary Particles as well as have a chance to learn one of the Legendary mods on that item. After obtaining a mod plan from an item, you can head over to your Tinker Bench to craft it by spending Legendary Particles.
Once crafted, you can either trade that mod with another player or head over to your Workbench to swap it onto a Legendary item.
Please Note When you swap a Legendary Mod onto an item that item becomes character-bound which makes it untradeable and not droppable in the world. Each time you replace a mod on an item, the cost will increase.
As a result of this update, we’re also relaxing the Legendary Mod restrictions on weapons. We’re excited to see you explore this system and find new, exciting mod combinations.

The three with any real content is the robot one, nukaworld and far harbour
The robot one is fun because you get custom robot allies, but they don't really have personality and just make an easy game easier tbh, but there's a decently fun quest there
Nukaworld is great if you're an evil person, incredibly disappointing if not
It's a whole separate theme park with a lot to do but the main quest involves dealing with raider factions
The only "good" option is to kill all the raiders, which is literally just you skipping the story of the dlc instead
Far harbour is arguably the best one, with actually nuanced choices, a new island to explore, multiple almost interesting factions to deal with

the story is great, the world, charaters, weapon system... it had the most voicelines in a video game at the time of release
the DLC was really fun too, especially old world blues which was just silly stupid fun the whole way

there are 4 ways to finish the game, side with the NCR (a post-war recreation of american government, with lall the benefits and flaws that brings) the leigion (a roman styled faction with heavy slavery and very barbaric themes) siding with mr. house (a pre-war capitalist genius who's sole goal is preserving a tiny portion of the wold world) or going the wildcard route and take the wasteland for yourself
the fact that, to this day, folks stil argue which faction is "best" says a lot, theres a fair number of very legitimate arguments for (and against) every faction

I more commonly opt for ballistics, but the Holorifle from Dead Money and the recharger rifle/pistol are my favorite energy weapons.
One caveat about the recharger weapons is that they empty their clips every time you switch weapons or search a corpse, but this is rarely more than a slight inconvenience as long as you keep them equipped as a matter of course.

Aim for the wings in vats. If you cripple them they become a lot more manageable

True for a lot of creatures, really. If you go hard in a VATS build, you can turn almost any enemy into a pushover, as long as you take out the important limb before they reach you.
Robots are especially good for this. Robobrains and Protectrons, take out both arms and they self-destruct. Assaultrons, take out the legs and they just slowly drag themselves forward on their arms. The big military robot (I forget the name), you can get behind it, target the fusion core and then GTFO before it explodes.

I like to remove the Combat Inhibiter most of the time. If it doesn't kill it, it will attempt to kill everything around it and depending on the situation, that's preferable.

Rifleman builds are viable, just not meta. You have to gear up right for it, but against anything short of a boss you'll tear things to bits. It's boss fights where they lose their shine.

As for the older set rewards, unless you modded in something that lets them level to where you are, those are set on when you get them, meaning that they lose their value and punch towards the end of the level cap. Skyrim and Oblivion suffer from the same.

There are only so many legendary slots and effects, but going the Warframe route of rerolling keeps their use for folks that want it. Soon, you'll be able to apply effects that you want (with limits and luck) without needing to reroll the entire weapon/armor for it.

Double tenderizer, situationally independent accuracy boost (given existing perks and gun stats, this is basically guaranteed hits)

The first one is better. Furious is mosty useful on full automatics against bosses, you won't be doing enough hits with a gauss rifle to get much benefit out of it.
Either way, this is not a gun for boss fights, it's for sniping during regular play.

If I had this gun, I'd keep it in my back pocket for situations where I can sneak up on a group of enemies & take out several of them from stealth before being detected. Then switch to a main gun that I'm built around when they spot me.
