Every year there has been reporting by the news reminding you to convert your controller
When they killed stadia they also refunded everyone for all purchases they made on it
I got a refund for the one game I had bought
Not me lmao, because I used a coupon… that was a case to be disqualified.
Oof
So I lost like five bucks, but its five bucks so whatever…. But its still funny that Google owes me five bucks.
I never used a stadia controller
I used an Xbox controller
Stadia didn't require the stadia controller
yeah, that corner case probably crosses the threshold of "implementing a literally perfect system would cost more than it's worth"
It was said to lower latency somewhat
Something something negative latency
I mean it made some sense, the latency was ‘lower’ because it connected to the stream server.
you can't have negative latency, that's like having half an A press
In my experience, stadia performed worse then modern Xbox game streaming and way worse then GeForce now
Google invents causality-breaking tech
GeForce now will have 100 hr monthly limit
And pricing all the games at prices similar or higher then steam, but you could only stream them, was a horrible idea
oh god, the half a-press thing
also isnt negative latency like time travel at that point
Well, with geforce now, at least you don't only own a license to stream your games
You could also play them natively on your main pc
Negative latency is in fact time travel
You simulate the console multiple times, once for each input, and pick the one that is the correct one
Xbox cloud streaming also tends to get you a license to play the game on a Xbox, or a PC, or both, depending on the game
That's key
Ehhh
No one wants to build a game library only accessible via streaming
Xbox cloud streaming isn’t as good as they make it out to be.
Honestly the best experience I’ve ever had with cloud streaming was…. Onlive. Which is crazy to say.
GOG screaming internally in the background
Ninja turtle spotted in OSRS https://i.imgur.com/zq9eDUY.png
It's not as good as geforce now
I wonder if there's an alternate timeline where cloud gaming became a "real" thing
It's getting more popular it feels like still
Geforce now is doing well
my vague impression is that (AAA) game sizes kept ballooning past the point there was no hope of streaming the game on normal internet
amazing
huh, I hadn't even heard of geforce now
When are they making a Linux client? Updating their macOS client as well? Are they even gonna bother actually making improvements with the silly gog galaxy 2.0 client?
Streaming isn't about game size as I understand it, you stream a h.265 video of the game and your inputs get sent back to the server
In real time
Like I really just miss the old gog downloader lmao.
The main issue is latency and consistency of connection
oh whoops, you're right, I completely mixed that up
the bigger issue was games where noticeable input lag would ruin the experience
Yes.
GeForce now has tried to compromise because if you pay for their service, you can run games at 120fps.
And streaming at 120 can in some cases have similar latency to running native at 60
So you brute force the issue
does the frame even get to your machine in less than 1/120th of a second
A world where turn-based strategy is the most popular genre?
Probably not, the main goal is just to get the total roundtrip latency comparable to a console game at 60fps.
Using more fps can help with that
It reduces the latency in that stage of the process
Then you have more room for latency in the connection stage
When compared to consoles at 60
If your internet is really good and you're close to the server, it can average out to be similar
That might sound crazy, but I’m not sure it is since most board games can more or less be categorized as “turn-based strategy” so clearly normal people are not completely averse to them.
And at that point you're not even buying the game, you're just renting the hardware with the game and never 'have' anything and are a slave to the subscription
GeForce now mostly uses your existing game library via steam and egs.
You can play the games, with the same save files, locally.
Not all steam games are compatible, but there's a very long list of compatible games
Same with egs.
now that you mention it, it does feel like the niche of "board game but digitized with the tedious bookkeeping parts automated" is... not as widely popular as I would've expected it to be
Wizardry or early ultima maybe
(not really)
well I think WG means actual board games with a board, not all tabletop games including D&D
computerized D&D obviously turned into RPGs which have always been a huge genre
What exactly are you thinking of by that?
I mean yeah, virtual chess is very popular it seems, but not ... Any more popular then real chess
So it remains a niche thing
I guess exactly I was thinking of literal name-of-board-game The Video Game games
This is correct. I was going to jokingly comment on how RPGs could also be categorized as TBS, but ended up not doing so before you all posted.
and failing to think of any just-video games that spun out of those the way CRPGs eventually stopped being straight D&D adaptations
I mostly have experience with monopoly, my dad's favorite board game, and the problem is that it's too people centric. Trading needs to be done over voice channels, and facial communications helps.
You could do that now, of course
Paradox games and Civilization are board game spinoffs, actually.
but I know very little about strategy games so maybe some of those did spin out of board games and I just don't know about it
welp
TIL
But the 1995 internet monopoly game didn't have that, it just had a visual interface to offer trades
When ime to offer trades irl games you wheel and deal, you sell people on it
It's a thing that is better in person
Or with video chat, which didn't exist at the time
yeah that's probably the direct reason
Europa Universalis is a board game created by Philippe Thibaut and released by Azure Wish Enterprise on 27 April 1993. It is a geopolitical strategy game in which players compete as the powers of Europe during the period 1492 to 1792.
ok now I want to see the Stellaris board game
Civilization is a board game designed by Francis Tresham, published in the United Kingdom in 1980 by Hartland Trefoil and in the United States in 1981 by Avalon Hill. The Civilization brand is now owned by Hasbro. It was out of print for many years, before it saw republication in 2018, by Gibsons Games. The game typically takes eight or more hou...
Although this one is more tenuous.
can i play this with a mouse
If the mouse can read the manual, sure

And yeah they made a monopoly video game in 1995 with tcp connectivity and ofc I have a physical copy of it

Someone made a fan patch to run it in windows 11
Aside from grand strategy/4X games, I think "tycoon"-type games are another candidate for games that sort-of spin off of board games, in this case something more like Monopoly. I'm less sure if there are direct links, though.
While those do still exist (go look up Wingspan on Steam), I think they've largely been replaced by Tabletop Simulator since it...simulates a tabletop and so can simulate any board game (among other things). It also handles a lot of the tedious bookkeeping (for example shuffling and dealing cards).
Incidentally, and since it is relevant here, I got Armello for Christmas (despite the game being some years since its last patch...), which is described as a "pure" digital board game, i.e. it was designed like a board game but was all digital with no physical predecessor or exact equivalent (it wouldn't be wholly unfair to compare it to titles like Shadow Hunters or Betrayal at House on the Hill, though).
#TalosPrinciple2: even as a cat person, I can't fault their argument
I got the MGS3 remake for Christmas, I love it
I should continue my playthrough of MGS1 when I finish it

discord why you bold it like that
did u put a "# " before the 2
I did, but I don't know why that means bolding. Seems like an odd choice
It's big text (for top-level header), not bolding

"Free on EGS today - Trine Classic Collection"
nice, I remember hearing about Trine a lot in the 2010s but it kind of faded away over time
it's very rare for me to see random mentions of Trine on the Internet these days
I should probably start claiming all the free games they announce
All I've claimed so far with the free games on EGS was viewfinder and hogwarts legacy
HL only because of having to play two hours of it to unlock an item in a different game
I did claim bendy and the ink machine and fnaf into the pit back in October as well
I miss when games had demo plays. Like you sit on the title screen for long enough and the game starts playing itself
Or if it is doom it plays itself from the start
https://www.greenmangamingbundles.com/bundles/rpg-icons/ pretty good set of CRPGs for 10$
My character in zomboid got fucking disconnected from reality, hit a tree at Mach fuck then got launched a few feet away and died

Like I said my character got dissociated from reality, my car was going so fast it loads and unloads 105 tiles in a span of a 0.5 seconds so i couldn't so anything and my car was stuck at a set speed until it hit a tree going Mach fuck
on vrc again if anyone wants to play
Hello, gamers! Did you ever want to combine red dead redemption 2 and katamari Damacy?
No? Well fuck you, have it anyway
holly shit I love this
Just learnt of the Voxy mod for Miencraft. Might try using it. And may end up giving up on the ray traced minecraft. Ray Tracing is cool and all but it is kinda fuzzy looking and it would be nice to see more then what people were seeing in 2015
Wait like.. Amazon Prime?
I already have it 🙁 this year's EGS giveaways were a bit disappointing
Yeah, amazon regularly does that
I guess I'll have to make do with Unreal/UT99 and soon UT2004 becoming freeware... 😛

Idk what Voidheart edition means but we gon find out
There is only one edition, you don't have to worry about that
Basically it's how they called their completed edition with all the free additions they made to the game post release.
LOOTBOXES HELL YEAH
i feel like that game went free before
They've done like 500 games now, so there's a good chance it was free before

He starts with a disclaimer that this ranking is E33-free
No E33 allowed
this is a E33-free zone
I assume he took the position that E33 was trash
He tends to have... really weird taste in games.
Nah, he had some gripes but he reviewed it earlier in the year and liked it, and the video starts with "GOTY, fair enough" but had gripes with the designation of 'indie'
Doesn't really say why, but I get the feeling it's mostly a "it's already been covered enough" thing
what an interesting position for a game to be in where people don't even want to bring it up in conversation anymore because everyone already knows how good it is
He probably just went ahead and removed it from the conversation because it's a game that was talked about a whole lot this year, makes sense
There isn't much else to say about it if you follow gaming closely enough. There are many several hours long dissections about every aspect of the game on YouTube
One day I'll play it
Essentially that, Gen, yes. I mean, he doesn't spell it out that way but that's absolutely my impression from watching
Then I can see what all the fuss is about
Gotta fix my PC first
Fair
soon, every single pony in this server have played e33
Then we'll need to pull in new chatters
And indoctrinate them

It's not on switch 2, correct
I don't believe so, no
I dont have a PS5 and I need to figure out whats wrong with my PC
It's extremely stressful because the cost of RAM and video cards is unaffordable
And I'm afraid that it's likely a hardware issue
You should run a memtest
How do I do that?
Run the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool. You can find it by searching for it in start.
does anyone do steam achievements here or nah? i have friends on steam but none of them do it
All the games I like won't let you have achievements if you "cheat" by modding the game
Or using the tools they explicitly give you 😛
Hm, I ran the memory diagnostic tool but... I didn't get any results after it finished
Oh, finally. Apparently there were no errors
I don't hunt for achievements, but I grab them if I can. I only have a few games 100%'d
i see, i try to stay away from co-op games at least i can do online depends what the game is i don't bother doing co-op games since i need people to 100% them with if they're going too so i just stay way from that
and here's mine anyways
I do…somewhat (rather) dilatorily, but I do explicitly plan around getting achievements.
gl
being trying to finish my steam library anyways i just did cod ghost in like a day on the 27th 💀
I'd love to 100% BG3, but there's no way in hell I'm beating tactician mode😭
game takes like 200-300 hours or more to 100% anyways there's people if you beat the game under like 200-250 they think is "too fast" or just hate you for some reason for 100% a game too "quick"
I 100%ed Elden Ring in about 140 hours

I swear it is such a meme to want to go in being a mage and then accidently become a stealth archer. Cause starting being a mage can be tricky, and stealth archer is so easy.

- 20 years old: Oblivion, Trackmania Nations, Supreme Commander, Outrun 2006
- 15 years old: Minecraft, Skyrim
- 10 years old: Doom 2016, Dishonored 2

Imagine playing a modern game with this
Thinking about the PS3 controller with the sixasis. It had gyro, but any game I played that had gyro on the PS3 was really really bad. Like it was a gimmick. Like in GTA4, you only used it to control a helicopter. I think nobody knew how to use it yet.
But then later when I played Splatoon on the Wii U, and that used Gyro for aiming, omg that was mind blowing.
PS3 gyro didn't have all sensors modern controllers do
it also had high latency and no vibration
Later versions had vibrations, but the first version didn't. The one I got had it.
Also that is interesting yeah, but makes sense. Modern controllers having more sensors. Except for xbox. I love the xbox controller but maaan I wish it had gyro.
No gyro just kills a controller for me now
I love FPS games and like playing on controller but I just cannot aim properly with just the control stick
hey that's just my regular mouse
it's how i beat firefox
You beat firefox?
everything else is just too hard

interesting, RetroAchievements is sending rewind emails this year (but there is no web version)
oh, interesting!
I could use that, I have emudeck. Don't have an account yet.
I don't care too much for achievements personally but the idea of achievements for retro games is so cool
Achievements do add a thing to do though

Also, I would personally think that 60 fps would be as easy as just disabling the in game frame limiter, and maybe even could be done through the emulator. But I don't know enough about it either.
Surely would be a good feature, turn off the fps limiter and go even up to 120 fps or more if the game doesn't break from it

wow, you're a lot further than I am even though you started after me

yeah, most games once I start I'll just keep playing until I "finish" and then never touch them again
depends what game it is, i did halo mcc i still play it but taking a break since i mostly play the mp/xp now

I would observe that they've been selling for about this much basically since launch, even at retailers... so I guess changing the actual MSRP isn't terribly unexpected?

But yeah, $5000 GPUs is batshit insane.
$2000 was already wild
They're not even workstation GPUs!
steam machine coming in start of 2026 is pretty good timing. Hopefully those ram prices dont drive it above 1k, but it seems like it'll be a very good option for folk instead of building your pc
Either good or terrible timing on Valve's part
I wonder if they can price that in
Then again, they're swimming in so much money they could absolutely afford to sell it at a loss
I think they initially didn't want to sell it at a loss because they didn't need to
But now, they might have to
I wouldn't really feel bad about them for it
If HL3 is the launch title for the steam machine, they might potentially get the volume they need for it not to be too much of a loss
It definitely needs to be sub 1k for it not to be dead on arrival. I think if they push it to 999, NOW, with the ram prices, people might understand and be willing to fork it over. Before this ram madness, I would've said 750/799
Indeed
Although the same logic led to the Nintendo Switch 2 somehow being "overpriced," so I don't think any price would satisfy people
$5k? jesus guess other reason why i went for amd 💀
Negative pricing, they pay you to take it and make it up on games
At least, as long as it's otherwise a good console.
part of me feels bad because I worry I'm going to need a new computer soon and may not be able to afford it :(
Same
AMD is likely to follow suit though
i probably won't upgrade again anytime soon i just need to upgrade my motherboard when ever that will be i got the rx 9070 xt on launch day amazon shit is just using i7 6700k with it rn i got the gpu first since i wanna get out of the way
At these insane, unfair prices, that's already the case
I'm using a laptop since my desktop is still in storage after my international move (and i don't feel like I have the stability here at the moment to get it out of storage), desktop has a 3070 so it's still good for lots of things, I think
Legit PK, hit me up about my old PC if you need it. I'm looking to get a Steam Frame in the future and don't need a third computer anyways
it's a little bit of a mess (needs a drive, probably a cheap b450 mobo, and the AIO watercooling radiator barely fits in the case) but we can easily get it working
I’m pretty sure this is indeed expected imminently
Yes, it is
AMD is similarly increasing their prices. For some reason this specific article didn’t link it even though it comes from the same report.
But that’s wccftech for you. They editorialize a lot.
I’m quite annoyed because I tried to upgrade my PC last year, and found I need to replace the motherboard, CPU, and RAM as well. This pricing nonsense means that I can’t remotely justify doing that anytime soon.
I'm worried that if I do get my desktop back, that there might've been transport damage 😐
what was the issue with the desktop?
Oh none, but I moved countries and the previous times I'd moved, there was damage to the GPU so I'm hoping it's not happened again

#TalosPrinciple2: NO WALKTHROUGH
(also none of the in-game cheat tokens)
(for the stars I did have to look up 2 hints, and even those were failures of wall-licking, not of puzzle solving)
Steam achievements are so funny sometimes. There are several games that have achievements just for you finishing the tutorial level and it says like "63.2% of players have this achievement".
What are the rest of y'all doing???
Not playing the game
yeah, I usually use those %s as measures of "drop rates"
according to TP2's steam achievements for example: 88% finished the tutorial puzzles, 82% got to the main game, 77% finished the first proper level, 67% did a quarter of the game, 60% did half, 51% did three quarters, and 42.9% got an ending
buuuuut the fact that "get any ending" has a lower % than "solve all regular puzzles" is extremely sus
Lol
to be clear: getting a main story ending in this game requires solving only ~80% of the "regular" puzzles
There should be an achievement for opening the game for the first time. See how many people don't even click play
IIRC that's Steam's definition of a "player", which is probably why achievements don't duplicate that
ah truee yeah, I didn't think of that
You can buy the game but not become a player of the game
which makes it even more baffling how many of these "finished the tutorial" achievements are sub-90%
do you normal people play all of your games for five minutes and then get distracted by a shiny object
and then there's the games that add achievements after the base game achievements (i.e. dlcs or free updates adding new achievements) that have ludicrously low percentages
Looking at payday 2 for that
Come back to the game after years and then its like 'huh why are there like 500 new achievements'
oh right, doesn't payday 2 have like, 1200 achievements or something ridiculous?
I just realized it's even weirder for TP2 because that's a sequel
The achievements for completing each dlc level for all of the 6 or so difficulties help contribute to that a lot
Hollow Knight's earliest/highest % achievement is 77%, and Silksong's is 91%; that gap makes sense at least, you probably don't buy #2 if #1 wasn't your thing
man I wish I like hollow knight more than I do
there are other games I could say that about
I might like it, I have never tried it
For some reason I always think of shovel knight when people say hollow knight
completely fair, I like doing that (and also learning an area well enough I no longer need to) but of course metroidvania is my favorite genre
my sense of direction is so ass, that I once went in a big ass circle in a location without noticing until I was like, half way into my 5th loop
Also I wanna say that I hate payday 2 levels cause to get to max level you just need to play through the game like 1000+ times. And in a 4 player co-op that has a bit of a story, and is a hoard shooter similar to l4d2 in ways, it just feels so weird to grind on it. I guess it at least gives reason to keep playing though
I don't even hate the difficulty or controls or anything; I just cannot find my way around the map, and I refuse to use a guide showing me where the correct direction is
that does make me curious if a similar game with a simpler map might work out better
maybe
I have yet to sink my teeth into any metriodvanias
I tried with hollow knight, and didn't like it
and I heard it's one of the best, so I figured "if this is the best, I don't think I'll enjoy any others"
but you did come away with a specific bugbear, which (speaking from experience) is more than most people manage
oh HK is absolutely one of the best MVs of all time
but that doesn't mean everyone is required to like it
even by MV standards, HK tends to expect/encourage more wandering aimlessly around the map (especially in the mid game) than most, especially the way it doesn't give you a region's map until you find the right NPC within it (the one thing I've yet to see any post-HK MV copy
)
Ori's my go-to for most beginner friendly MV, and I'm pretty sure its map is more straightforward
and Nine Sols is one of my personal favorite MVs that heavily favors combat challenge over map navigation challenge (to the point I've seen HK fans complain that it's "too linear")
Why is the basic edition of Ori and the Blind Forest not available on steam anymore?
it's only the definitive edition that's available
my understanding is that DE is a strict upgrade/superset (more content, a few QoL features, but no "remaking" of original content), so it does actually make the original obsolete
ok, then why is it still on steam at all then?
I assume because of people like me who owned it before DE came out, and wanting to present DE as a new release (which it is)
I mean there's zero reason to play the original any more so I wouldn't get hung up on it, lots of games have some edition stuff like this when you show up several years after it was new
Fair
I have the game from GOG and run it through Heroic, so no achievements for me
I wish achievements were a standard OS feature like on consoles, but they're not 🙁
yeah, that's probably unavoidable
I already doubt the veracity of quite a few steam achievements, any universal system for them would have no plausibility at all

Man I watched this and it just makes me wanna play minecraft again, I miss it. And kinda miss watching this guy, I used to watch him lots.
All the critiques are valid but I also think some of them are what make the game great. A survival sandbox doesn't need to a have a whole big objective to it, one of my other favourite survival games called Urge (it is super fucking weird) doesn't have much objective either besides building, surviving and exploring.
Let's do this in a real way, not the band wagon way

Watched this out of interest. Despite what I see people say, 8gb is far from being unusable, even with modern games on windows 11, and any issues you do get are solved by just having 16gb. So I guess it really helps to know that unless you really need a specific reason for it, you can safely go for 16gb for gaming.

How much RAM do you actually need for gaming in 2025? Today we’re putting that question to rest with a full breakdown of how different RAM capacities affect real in-game performance. We’re testing 8GB, 12GB, 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of memory across a wide range of modern titles...
Windows 10/Linux is a lot more usable than Windows 11 with 8 GB
Yeah I'm sure it would be too
He interestingly brings up a point of like, by the time apps or games are intense enough to need 64gb of ram, the speeds we have now would probably be very slow by then
I certainly won't be upgrading my RAM any time soon
my current laptop is above average mostly as future-proofing; this ongoing price silliness wasn't one of the futures I was trying to proof against but I guess it works out that way
Yeah
I would like something more then what I had right now, in basically all of my devices, but it will still be fine. Only really device I have that is basically unusable is my tablet, it is just really old. It has 3gb of ram and 32gb of storage.
you say "normal" and then you literally describe adhd
Winners are out
BG3 is done with their work and it won Labor of Love? The fuck?
NMS is again denied that honor.
I just ordered a decent Thinkpad that has 64 GB of DDR5 in it, for around $1,300. A steal, if you ask me. May as well, at this point
How the fuck did you get that for $1,300
I am in aud but I could probably only get 16gb for that price
In USD
Direct from Lenovo it would have been $1,600+ or so, but I found the same thing for significantly cheaper on Amazon
Okay yeahh, $2000 for me. Still for that price, I expect 32gb at most, and most still being 16gb
My macbook was around that price and it has 8gb of ram, before the ram shortage
Yeah, the crazy RAM prices haven't quite reached pre-built laptops from the major OEMs, but it will soon, I suspect. So I jumped in on this
I see I see
Dang, that's a tempting idea...
recency bias is too strong for anything that really makes sense to win labor of love
I guess they released their last patch in April
I feel like NMS's work was more substantial, though
Listen I like NMS well enough and they did way past what they needed to do on the game to redeem themselves in my eyes, but I'll say it here, NMS is not that good of a game so I don't mind BG3 winning over it.
NMS is kind of shallow and kind of grindy for many of its systems for the genre it's in.
It's a good game, the content it offers is very wide, but I don't think it's crafted as carefully as BG3 is when you take the single systems into account.
This is all fan voted as well, isn't it? Heck, I'm surprised at the GOTY result. Not undeserving, but I sense perhaps a bit of "ya know what fuck you i'm gonna vote for something other than all the awards/magazines"
As for volume, I wouldn't be surprised if on Steam more people played HK given the lowest price point on the platform.
Lots of people played E33 on Game Pass after all
That's also a fair point
i figured cuz silksong is easy to run and steam awards pulls a lot of people who wouldn't normally vote in any awards since it's right there when you open the app
I still think it's insane they placed it at 20 bucks
They could have gotten away with double given the hype around it and not lose that many sales
30 and probably still sell 90% of what they sold
for how small the team is theyre def each making insane bank either way
big respect for the modesty
Oh yeah they were already set after HK, it's why they took their sweet time with Silksong
And why I assume we'll get the same treatment of a bunch of free post release content for Silksong
ENA mentioned
a surprise to be sure but a welcome one
That's a funny one for Silent Hill F to win, not that it's not going for a distinctive style but it falls under the AAA realism I'm used to see in a lot of big production games (namely, precisely going for real world graphical fidelity), I would've given it more props for its sound and narrative but I guess there's games who win over Silent Hill F in those categories instead
if the game had come out any other year it probably would've won those categories
Also, an extraction shooter wins most innovative gameplay. Okay, sure.
Eyyy, Dispatch won something! And yeah, Silksong winning both GOTY and "Best Game You Suck At" is on point, lol
pfff
I would've probably put Blue Prince in there instead, although I guess Blue Prince is more innovative concept than gameplay maybe, but still
Yeah, this one was dumb
I'm surprised E33 didn't completely destroy the goty category
Extraction shooters and most FPS games are far from "innovative" these days
Hades 2 got in there too so that's nice
Peak too I don't remember if Peak had won anything for the game awards but I thought it deserved to
Nah, I knew Silksong would win GOTY for Steam. E33 is fantastic, but Silksong outright broke Steam, and after E33's usage of AI came out, I guarantee you that some people switched votes to Silksong.
I voted for Peak in its category, simply because it's absolutely hilarious
Maybe a bit that, and a bit what Tch suggested, which we can call the hipster effect, that a certain category of people are never gonna vote for the popular thing regardless of merit.
Indeed
I would guess E33's other award sweeps were a bigger factor than the "AI" nothingburger
I agree it was a nothingburger, but it still likely swayed a few votes.
I see that Larian’s AI usage didn’t bother people, though.
@gaunt marten you seeing this??
I think its time for another Tmod playthrough
ive been hmming and haawing what new single player game to start and landed on final fantasy xv, but unfortunately getting it to run is a little problematic
so i am, workin on it
good luck Bringi
I struggle to stick to one game at a time haha, so I just kinda flit from game to game depending on my mood/day
ive gotten a lot better at singleminded pursuit last year or so (with ffxiv being the only real diversion bc thats like, beloved commitment
), but i "just" finished hades 1 so its that transitional period. i did kinda-sorta promise gen ill try playing warframe, but to my understanding thats a multiplayer game and a) im in mood for contained single player rn and b) i dare not grab his attention away from kingdom come games i neeeeeed his updates on how his hungry hungry henry adventures are going
so i thought hey, i have four guys on road trip the game on my list back from that huge sale, why not. alas somethin is wrong™ with something somewhere and i get stuck on infinite load screen after hitting new game (the tutorial is fine? so why? strange). so ive been tryin to figure out the issue all evening to not many results
huh, did you already do a "verify game intergrity" thing on steam?
could be a missing file somewhere
currently doing so, aye. it just takes a long time
Speaking of games, since I recently finished Tempest Rising, I have picked up The Ascent as my next game to play through. I do also try to focus on one game at a time for story... with some others for 'hey this will kill 15 min' (see: Ball x Pit)
The Ascent is a solo and co-op Action-shooter RPG, set on Veles, a packed cyberpunk world.

I bought that one on sale this autumn, I have it on my Legion Go 2 but didn't start it yet
which i can only think to describe as... cyberpunk 2077 meets diablo?
Its pretty good so far but was hard for a while. I recommend maxing out the HP stat first then going into whatever else build you want
if you're into the Starfox this game looks pretty cool
kinda sorta! it didnt fix it quite so but it looks like the issue was in my external disc, not the game itself. i ran repair, it looks healthy now, ill redownload it and hopefully itll run tomorrow
ahh that's an annoying issue haha, but yeah
oooh i'll take a look
it's made with Godot too
it seems to be the best Star Fox-like we have for now
ooohh myy god what is wrong with you GOG why did you automatically start this update
jesus
You know what, I feel tempted to make a youtube video of a 'one and final' video for modding on steamOS/Bazzite/Steam deck. Because all the tutorials on modding games are overcomplicated and don't actually teach you about how it all works. I want to be like, here is what you to do to mod literally any game on Steam Deck. Like, use multiple games as examples and different things you can do. Cause its like, once you get how to do it and make it work in steam gaming mode, you can do it for basically any game, you just gotta figure out what each game specifically wants.
Like, show how to use mod launchers and managers in steam gaming mode, whether it is linux native or not.
Or maybe I could even do it for specific games. Or like 'how to mod unity games' because all unity games seem to use just the one unity mod manager
that sounds useful

Oh my god, this video feels like exactly me
I remember when Skyrim special edition came out on PC and I was like 'huh.. Cool, but mods already make the game look much better then this'. Same for the GTA enhanced edition, but rockstar took down some of the old mods.

if the game gives me a parry, boy am i gonna fucking use it
especially on this guy
his fights are some of my faves, with just a dodge its a good test on spacing and seeing opportunities properly, with a parry it has no gimmick attacks so its just a no bullshit timing test
Man, seeing it makes me wanna to do another run at some point
What an excellent game
It was yeah
thought so
I got me some gaaaaaames!
Hey hello, absolutely no rush on this, just want to add that WF is indeed multiplayer, but most story content is single player, and in general all of it is made to be solo'able.
Arguably a new player is better off solo unless they are trying to farm something faster, as veteran players matching with them tend to trivialise challenges or be way too fast for how a new player tends to play initially.
super scribblenauts is the only one worth any actual value /s

I used to have it
Actually it might have come with the 2ds I bought awhile back so this purchase might have been pointless.......
I didn't realize, like an idiot, that this wasn't Mario Party Island Tour, the one I was after
But I'm not going to return any of this. I have games.
Games are fun.
ive never even heard of Star Rush
It is...obscure
I wonder if anyone's made an ultra randomizer
you exit a room in a mario game and suddenly bam, you're in a zelda game, you go to the next room and suddenly you're playing resident evil
there are some randomizers that stitch two games together into a single program; the examples I know about are SMZ3 and OoTMM
my understanding is these were only feasible because the two games were made on identical hardware and their ROMs happen to be mergeable in a way that both mostly just work
it's definitely not feasible to stitch together two arbitrary modern games in this particular way
Doesn't Archipelago stitch together dozens of games?
(though you can have "multi-game randomizer" systems like Archipelago, where each game is doing network communication with a common server using a generic protocol, so there's no stitching into one program, "just" modding each game individually)
Ah
yeah the long answer was required here since the normal meaning of "multi-game rando" is Archipelago but that's clearly not what Plucky had in mind
(which is a fun coincidence, I'm working on one of my Archipelago mods right now)
you might be able to do something super hacky with like, an altered emulator and games all on one system
but yeah it'd be cursed
indeed, plus it probably has to be a small set of very similar games in order to be fun
I think the fun would be having to go from platforming to a shooter
a true test of gamerskill
I guess it's easier for me to say "that probably wouldn't be as much fun as it sounds" because I've tried entrance/room rando in multiple randomizers, and if it's too fine-grained, keeping track of all the transitions does tend to overwhelm all other aspects of the game in my (and others') experience
doing that with multiple games is likely even more clunky
but a very coarse-grained form of it might work
(I'll be trying to make my own entrance rando in the near future because I think this game is coarse-grained enough it'd be fun)
probably the real question is, even if you could stitch together games X and Y, is that more fun than Archipelago'ing X and Y already is, by enough of a margin to justify that extra effort
...this just made me imagine a Halo MCC randomizer, since that's a case where the original devs already solved the "run every game in the same engine" problem
oh! good to know
ive started watching Vinesauce Vinny play Blue Prince
the vibes are much different from what i was expecting
Blue Prince is pretty fascinating
he just accidentally wasted an entire day :ICANT:
Without spoiling anything, it goes deeeeep
Certainly not for everyone, and it requires a certain mindset to get the most enjoyment out of it, but it's such a well-crafted game

Its great!
Hell yeah
Theres evrn a pony mod thats better than the minecraft one as it actually affects gameplay
Fricken awesome
Can you make the game cursed with 1000 mods like you can in minecraft or has that not happened yet
I think theres about 1000 mods, not that ive counted, bit the vast majority are QoL, genuine improvements, overhauls of various mechanics... very few junk mods
Oh I see I see
Hey a game even with a lot of normal mods can feel cursed in a way
Even something as simple as 'there is way too many weapons here then this game deserves to have'
If you did buy it id be more than happy to play with you
omg really?
I don't play games too regularly though I guess, and with my work schedule it would probably be like, once or twice every few weeks
I LOVE the game but its much better with a friend
I see I see
(And youre gonna want someone to help explain the gameplay)
I have heard that the game does at least teach you some things though
Oh its genuinely great at explaining things
But theres a difference between a guidebook and a more experienced player explaining things lol

I see
(I think were on 1.21 rn but that wasnt a significant patch)
I've been hearing a lot about Vintage Story. How is it compared to Minecraft? Like, what sets it apart?
It seems like it is a lot more focused on the survival aspects
you actually need to work for stuff, progression is meaningful and plentiful, and there are many more mechanics that make the game interesting
or simply,i would call it minecraft if it was made with survival first in line, not creative atleast from the little bit ive played
unfortunately didnt manage to convince anyone else to play as well so i kinda fell off
Minecraft is a sandbox
Vs is more survival
Heloooooooo
Finally, I've been WAITING for this feature in war thunder
They finally let me use tank customization on Minimal download 🙌🙏
I can now slap on my body pillows on non-reserve tanks
To put things in perspective:
To get an iron pickaxe in minecraft, you punch a tree, make a wooden pick, mine 3 stone for a stone pick, then after about 10 mins find 3 iron
In VS however:
Find clay
Form clay into a crucible and mold
Make a pit kiln and bake crucible and mold
Make a charcoal pit
Hope you stumble onto some copper bits by exploring the surface, if not, make a wooden pan and sift gravel for 40 of them
Use crucible to melt the bits, pour into the mold for copper pick and prospecting pick
Prospect for a big copper seam, and a tin seam
Once you found both, use crucible to alloy tin and copper together to make bronze
Make enough for a bronze anvil and hammer
Make a forge if you havent already
Make clay bricks
Cook them in a pit kiln
Make a bloomery
Start the prospecting process again but for iron ore (i think thats hematite)
Once you have enough, put iron ore in bloomery with charcoal
Wait
Once done destroy bloomery (you get some clay bricks back)
Heat the iron chunk in furnace
Chip all the slag from chunk and form into ingot on anvil
Heat ingot
Use anvil to forge into a pickaxe
Iron is a late game material
(this sounds like TerraFirmaCraft)
Yeah lol
i haven ggone through even a third of that within 10h or so
which from what i understand was a mix of being unlucky with early game resources and also severe skill issue of dying thousands of blocks from base multiple times
Tbe devs started with a minecraft mod not unlike that but realise mc kinda sucks and just made their own game from scratch
nice
Its like being in a primitive survival video lol
I've always been interested in vintage story
It is a challenging game to be clear
But the price is steep so I'd wait for steam release to get that sweet regional pricing and steam sales
$20 is steep?
Yes, I'm an unemployed college student living off my parents' wage
Oh right regional pricing
20$ is around 1000php for me and that's a week of work, maybe when I get a job someday
Oof
Tell you what
If youre willing to do multiplayer and we can find times to play, i might be able to buy a copy
Look up this bid furst and dm me if youre still interested, im a bit busy today
I'll look into it! Also I'd be down to do zomboid vanilla
Awesom
Only nosteam tho,
Don't you hate when you try to add about 50 mods to game, and then it just crashes, so you get rid of most of them, but there is some weird ass bug and so you just gotta keep eliminating mods that you think it is until the bug goes away
Sometimes it is just better to choose a small amount of mods, or slowly grow a mod library over time.
Some games take mods so well, and you can add hundreds without issue if you are careful about conflicts, others just really hate you
Not sometimes, always
Nahh sometimes you want a large amount of mods
And the best way to get a large amount of mods is one mod at a time
Oh for getting large amounts of mods yes
I remember why it is what I did with Skyrim now. Add a mod or 2, then see how it works.
Or if there is a modpack that is good. Otherwise, yeah.
and sometimes it's more about the individual mods than the base game
Sometimes a single mod can do a lot
especially when APIs are already in place to let certain kinds of mods compose safely
I was trying to add a lot of content at once to this game and it just ended up not really working
damn
(the build got a little silly)
Okay, if you have 114 mods, it could give you 6 per mod plus 101 base
I'm also trying to mod a Unity game, with not so great mod support and game updates known to break mods entirely so I can expect things to not work
can't believe i actually pulled off an Intangible build (A status that reduces damage taken to 1 per attack for a turn)
HC have you tried the new savage?
What game is this
Slay the Spire
oh I have heard that name before
my brother in christ it launched today, i don't even have it unlocked
Horse game is coming to game pass soon
pony game yayy
Do you guys ever like to play games with the lights off? It just feels cool
not specifically lights off, it tends to make the screen feel uncomfortably bright (unless it's so dark I can't see anything which is a whole other problem)
That's the sequel to maritime Bay adventure right?
Or did that one come first
I do tend to cover up windows because, although I'm not a vampire, rays of sunlight inevitably end up at an angle that creates glare or blinds me
Ooh RE Village
Depends on the game
Makes sense, I love being able to just focus in on the screen, everything around me being dark
I play with lights on and near people with horror , lights off with most
Oh I'm 100% lights off with horror
Same reason tho, I'd turn lights off on day (who doesn't)
I'm a wimp, I'm horrible with horror
I got jumpscared by an ISOMETRIC ZOMBIE
some horror games I'm glad I watched someone else play, some I'm very glad I played myself, it really depends
Stupid zomboid jumpscare sfx
I'll take the former any time of the day
I wish I played Iron Lung first before watching a video on it
(I mean being scared is usually part of the point so "being a wimp" is not incompatible with the genre
)
I played all fnaf entries, even sb and ruin, But never fnaf 4
yeah fnaf is one I would never enjoy playing myself
fnaf 1 did so good at horror, I feel like less so in some of the others
Security breach is just wacky
I got horrible nightmares one time from horror after watching so that might be the root cause why i don't play horror
Fnaf 4 is peak horror, I've played it 1 time only
If you like rpgs fnaf world is cool
UCN is also pretty cool because it focuses less on the horror aspect at that point
fnafb is peak
Most recent
hm? what? who said that?
I avoid horror games completely ngl
Movies too
The only horror movies I watch are the paranormal activity movies
And even then those are tame
Not a horror person at all
I fucking LOVE fnafb
Fucking such a good rpg game
So fun
So goofy
Fight those party hats
Why
The equivalent of just watching someone else play the game
Need the ghost player to help me through a visual novel
💀
"It uses ‘non-invasive sensors’ to read brainwaves and encourage gamers to boost their performance."
An anime girl voice: "You can do it! I believe in you! Do it for me!'
lmao
I read the whole article and it explains so little that this feels completely fake
After clicking through and reading the press release, I don't think this is fake, but I do think they're overhyping it (not surprisingly). It (still) doesn't provide much detail, but I can hazard some guesses about how it works based on what I know about this sort of technology--most likely, what's going on is that the headset has sensors to pick up electrical and magnetic fields from brain activity, and then has some kind of ML system to translate those signals into usable signals.
You would basically need to use ML techniques for this, since the data would be extremely messy at best.
i don't use headphones but ye i'm good 💀
Then there's "something" that does "something" with the signals that "somehow" improves performance. (I really have no idea how the one leads to the other)
so it's just marketing fluff and not actual news
The use of "AI" is probably technically correct here, but misleading for average consumers because the "AI" used here is only vaguely related to the "AI" in chatbots.
damn we got south park now 💀
Peak lol
#1033108638572744705
didn't realize we have a channel but thanks will keep it in mind next time
This is why I think it is fake. There is no hint to what it does, and I see no way that it could do something.
Does it somehow play a sound that makes you react faster
Huh, the Syberia collection is 5.99$ on GOG. But I checked gog galaxy and turns out that I already have all four. Didn't realize
Yeah, I think they were free multiple times
I have three on gog and one on steam, somehow

I do this for most games since it's really good on an OLED
but this is especially nice for dark games like Doom, Thief, Quake, etc
and games you play in aspect ratios that differ from your display too (black bars are invisible in OLED)
most games designed for CRTs do well in a dark room
hell yeah
EHM is one of the most absurd glitches in Portal 2, as you're able to make objects non-solid by doing seemingly random things, like loading a level for 2 hours, standing on a button for 8 hours, or walking through a portal for nearly 3 hours. Here's how the glitch works.
Curious about some of the other Portal 2 skips I mention here? Watch some...
adding onto the others, Vintage Story is more focused on being a realistic hardcore survival game (even down to the earth's orbit), so it's the kinda game you want if you're looking for something that makes that surviving aspect a lot more complex and involved as well as rewarding, the tradeoff is it's muuch slower paced and if you like the creative building it's gonna take a lot longer, and it's fairly brutal in the beginning as you learn it
it's really worth it tho, there's not anything else that's more detailed in the whole wild-man survival-craft department so it's very unique being on the extreme opposite side of minecraft, best if you'd like something that can make you lose a bunch of hours following how you develop from the broke, no money age far into the iron age, if you prefer something more "immersive"
Sounds more difficult than Minecraft
it is yeahh
Ye but I think I might like it
for minecraft the survival progression ends pretty quickly and youre pretty much set to do whatever about 20 minutes into the game since its goal is more on player freedom and creativity as opposed to VS where you'll spend a bunch of hours surviving off what you can before your first crop yield comes
it's a very cool experience
Yeah. In Minecraft the goals feel more like your own personal goals you want to do
to be clear, VS also has a lot of "do whatever you want" aspect to it
but you do have those goals of getting better gear, more efficient farm, building better food storage for the winter, upgrading automation and so on
also VS has less "islands of content"
as in, most aspects of the game interact with other aspects in a big interconnected web
unlike minecraft, where they added the pale forest that added... white wood, orange blocks and an indestructible enemy? is that fun?
Yeah, it is
I've wanted white wood for years, and people have been using the Creaking for extremely fun games
if you say so i guess
VS has vertical slabs tho
it doesnt need them tho, considering it has a whole chiselling system, letting you chip most blocks into almost any shape you desire
even combine them together
VS having vertical slabs is tempting, lol. But I really don't like how brown everything is. It doesn't look great.
Literally every gameplay video I see of VS has every blade of grass, every block, every tree being a shade of brown or beige. Even the sky. Barely any green or blue.
Like, specifically this color, all the time
?
the bear is a brown bear, the rabbits are brown, and the wood is brown
the grass is green tho
wow only 32 gb of ram!
is that a lot
I only have 24 gb of ram
and a portion of that is kind of always in use when I have other stuff opened in the background like the browser so really I only have like 16 available
simply download more
it is when 32GB of RAM now costs almost $1000
i just loaded up the world me and liv were playing on ages ago thats in inter and yeah ok i can see it now
oh you can just turn that off
i realise im not beating the brown allegations here but chiseling is fun
liv chiselled this doorway
pies and wines
anyway
i like VS
This feels like a game you'd have to invest a lot of time into
or have a group to divide tasks to, yeah
Oh my god😭
Yeah, not terribly surprising
This is like the fifth major game to do this
the hitman games ARE very complex
I really wish I didn't cheap out on ram when buying my pc components
yeah lol
I have 64GB of DDR5 and even that much is feeling tight to me...
I have 16gb of ddr5 ram
My ram is also only 4800MT/s, so literally the slowest DDR5 ram you can get
The only good part about new games being impossible to run is that I simply don't play most of the new games that come out, and the ones I do play are usually highly stylized games that are low in requirements like Hi Fi Rush
Biggest problem I have even after upgrading to the RTX 3050 LP is simply that I don't have enough vram for most games, I only have 6 gb and 8gb is already not enough to play most games anyway
still an upgrade from only 4 gb though
retrogaming will probably continue to be on the rise until morale improves pricing goes back to something more reasonable
you don't need 32 GB of RAM to emulate systems with 32 MB of RAM... 🙂
either that or we will enter a period where developers will maybe actually design their games with lower specs in mind and actually fully squeeze out all the performance out of those systems otherwise people will simply not play any new games because... they're not gonna be able to
unless they play on consoles
but that seems unlikely to me
By lower specs I don't mean low specs, I mean lower specs, like something most people actually have unlike what some new games seem to believe the average person has
indie devs tend to remain cautious about this for the most part, the Steam Deck does the heavily lifting here
if your game runs well on a Steam Deck, it'll run well on nearly any desktop PC
I don't see a world where AAA devs suddenly lower graphics expectations to cater to lower-end devices though
it's never really happened in the history of gaming
Me who went from a 8gb ram hp laptop to a 32gb ram i7 geforce gtx 1060 razer desktop cause of getting my brother's previous computer when he got a new one lol
Was using a 4gb ram acer aspire v5 laptop before that one
Then a 2gb ram single core emachines desktop pc before that
From 2014 to 2018/2019
I remember upgrading from 512 MB to 1 GB of RAM around 2007
it felt like the future back then
The 4gb one has a rainbow dash sticker next to the mouse trackpad thing lol
I am so, SO glad I jumped on this deal when I saw it after arriving here https://www.microcenter.com/product/677546/hp-omen-16-ae0001nr-161-gaming-laptop-computer-platinum-collection-meteor-silver . Great specs for a laptop and was about 1300$ at the time
probably be close to 2k now with current ram prices
Just stumbled across this picture, figure I'd toss it to the channel. JRPG players, what are you most looking forward to?
I'm so amused by the amount of remakes/collection of old games here lol
most of these look the same to me
That might work for me as I've probably not played any of the originals. Except P4, but I'm actually curious to see how it is (I did play P4G and I believe there's footage of the revival graphics too, but I mean as a whole product)
And I know nothing of beast of reincarnation, which looks more like an action adventure than JRPG
Code Vein 2
Megaman Starforce, Fire Emblem, and P4R I'm all hyped for
I'm intrigued by Beast of Reincarnation, Code Vein 2, and Elliot
lots of those don't actually seems like JRPG, more like anime games in general
Code Vein is a souls like for one
Ah right
Even though it is technically a Japanese made RPG
Seems like the person that made this, if it was labaled as upcoming JRPG, they just mean games made in Japan
Yeah
But to be fair it's a good collection of titles
Megaman is an odd inclusion seeing it's a remaster of a spinoff of a spinoff
I'm not looking for games to play, but still, this looks charming as hell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1L3JNpq7Oc
See the gorgeous but dangerous world of Constance in this new gameplay trailer for the upcoming 2D hand-drawn action-adventure game. Constance features a paintbrush-wielding artist, striving to escape from a colorful but decaying inner world, created by her declining mental health. Constance will be available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Ninten...
Looks like Hollow Knight, Ori, and Crowsworn all blended together and given a cheerier art style. I agree, it looks extremely charming, but I don't think it'll be making a lot of waves, unfortunately.
ive clowned on Lies of P in the past but im watching NorthernLion play it and it looks kind of cool. how does it compare to the FromSoft soulslikes ?
I liked what I played of it, but I got stuck fairly early in the game and never finished it. It's not on Game pass anymore, so I cant play it unless I buy it
it has better refined and more consistent combat, and its a bit more linear so you dont have to wander about to find your way
I didn't like the combat when I tried the demo of it, but that was also months before release. Not sure if they changed it
aw but i like wandering around
Vibes-wise, I think it's also more "alive" than most other Soulslike games. Like, there's actual people to interact with, and a living world around you, rather than just desolate ruin after desolate ruin like in Dark Souls (and yes, I know there are other living people in Dark Souls, but the whole series still feels oppressive and very lonesome overall).
you guys are just saying all the things i like about souls games
@green fulcrum since you're still the CRPG connoisseur of the channel, is there anything unreleased that you are looking forward to? Other than the obvious one, Divinity
Warhammer 40K: Dark Heresy (from Owlcat Games), Solasta II, and New Arc Line are the three I'm most looking forward to other than Divinity.
New Arc Line is in early access and hasn't received an update in a while, but it is supposedly still being worked on.
I saw a little bit of that other Warhammer CRPG and it looked pretty cool but I kept hearing that it continued to get content updates so last I heard it wasn't really 'complete' just yet
I should play some more CRPGs some time, I feel like I'm missing out on a cool genre I might enjoy
I wanted to maybe check out Baldur's Gate some time, not the 3rd one, the first or the second one, just to see
Some of these older ones are consistently under 9 dollars in most platforms anyway too
The first two are real-time-with-pause combat, just fyi.
The colour pallete used is a bit dull, it really doesn't look very colourful.
But also I think both games have good reason to play, don't need to compare them so harshly
Via amazon prime gaming
one can only hope haha
yeah that's been on my wishlist for a while
oh i didnt realise the game was out even, thought it was gonna release cuz of the trailer being sent

classic
not too bothered about it cuz the boss is not really that hard but bit annoyed that the time is wasted
@arctic fern Would vintage story work fine for steam deck?
I realise its not on steam so it can't exactly tell me
It doesn't say anywhere that it supports controller. It might map fine to keyboard keys fine but sometimes if there are too many buttons it is just a pain
Also just annoying when you do get a new game and you gotta mess around with binding controls for like 30 minutes
I dont know
Send me a dm and when im free ill look that up
I dont think it does but im sure steam would let you kludge something together
I mean it would run fine, It's more just the controlls
(I could have just asked how controller support is really ahah)
I know a lot about running non steam games on it, I do it all the time
I may still try it if not but I'd definitely have less chances to play it
@slim thorn i did a thing
after i finish this playthrough i plan on doing this for all bosses, then upload it as a single compilation
p sure it is,even lingering damage like ice bombs i can parry,so it should be doable
I think when I played EL rando with random starting spirit (and rolled the parry spirit) I realized parry-only is infeasible (or at least no fun) on the bosses that mostly do ranged attacks
but EM might be different
theres carapace that launch a projectile after parrying, less damage but still shjould be fine
probably the... I forget the name of the EM witch boss but you know who I mean, that'd be my main concern
i could only see velgrynd being problematic personally, cuz in 2nd phase theres 1 attack thats really hard to parry and id have to go through a lot of them cuz the fights take a while, and maybe ending B fight as well cuz its just overall a difficult fight
this shit is hilarious to me though, true pacifist route or the "stop hitting yourself" route
you're probably right, I only played EM once since oh god so many peak games
we are eating good in 2025/2026
I've seen people do parry-only fights in Nine Sols and considered trying one of those myself
if ninesols has a boss rush maaaaybe eventually would be willing to do it there too, though not too big of a fan of the parry timing there compared to most other games
wouldnt be doing this in magnolia either but apparently it recently got a boss rush
Nine Sols does have a "Battle Memories" mode now for boss refights, so you can easily do a rush by selecting each of them in sequence
yeah probably just a matter of time then until i do it there
im assuming since you mentioned it,it is possible to do it there? as in parries dealing damage to enemies
pretty sure PoP:TLC also had a boss rush, it's arguably a standard feature at this point
so, in the context of Nine Sols, a "parry-only" fight usually means using Unbounded Counter to deal internal damage to the boss, until their health bar is 100% internal damage, then using a single talisman to finish them off
it should be but not always is,lies of p for example also only recently got one and in that kinda game it should be included by default
having to attack enemies?? in my combat game???
It has some small amount of splatoon mixed in, with the paint thing, the theme is pretty strong, I hope it is low budget enough to count as a commercial success at least.
1k reviews means it sold probably at least 10/20k copies lowballing it, but yeah rough to come out the same year of Ender Magnolia and Silksong for a metroidvania
huh found a weird bug, armed gilroy did phase 2 attacks before he actually transitioned to it,ig i did enough damage to enter p2 without him getting a chance to do the whole ritual
I have really been feeling an urge to make gaming youtube videos again...
Oh I actually thought that was a spiderman game at first ahah
the mods itself adds spiderman as a playable character and adds full on wall crawling and web swinging etc
omg fuck yeah
and regular walking
Based mod
i am elevator,elevating so hard
I feel like that's easier to spam than the EL wall climb but I'm not sure why
i mean here im cancelling the wallclimb with a dash

oh duh
you can get the same results by having your finger above dash and jump and vibrating your hand real hard
well this would have been helpful a couple hours back
idk why i didnt get it,i literally cleared that part before
think im just stuped
there's a lot of mouse control needed for the menus and for knapping without a mod to automate it so it'd be kind of a pain to play on controller
i tried setting it up once but no no recommend
*plus i needed to do that on ds4windows, there's no native support
i love the tonal shift when you get to ||house frost|| stuff in ender magnolia,it hits just the right spot
steam deck does have more button options so it might be possible to make things more convenient on it
Along those lines, can't wait for the new steam controller
i have the old one and my only complaint with it is that it it lacked a second analogue stick
the touchpads are fantastic but theres no beating a solid analogue stick
I will probably buy one for Godot purposes, just in case I don't have enough controllers
Oh my god, they're Nine Inch Nails
playing Quake 1 for the first time?
Quake 1 is so good
Nine Inch Nails was peak popularity roughly when Q1 came out. The reference was super funny at the time.
NIN also did Quake's soundtrack
Was about to say exactly that
Pretty much. I've played it before, but not much
also, Ranger's "voice actor" so to speak is literally Trent Reznor
and probably the guy who voices Enforcers too. The only 4 English words you hear in the game, that is
fun fact: Q1 is probably one of the earliest PC games to not have streamer-friendly audio, since it's technically licensed music... people have made a mod to replace the OST with streamer-friendly alternatives because of this
(it gets flagged by Twitch/YouTube content ID)
Neat
What actually happens in those cases? The stream just gets demonetized?
I think it gets removed by Twitch entirely, and on YouTube you get demonetized
but I'm not fully up-to-date on what happens when you get caught by content ID on Twitch
(it's stricter than YouTube AFAIK)
Huh
I've never put my streams on Twitch, just YouTube. Most of my recordings are just Beat Saber, so there's a ton of improperly licensed music in them and as far as I can tell they just get demonetized. (But they were never monetized to begin with, so... literally nothing happens)
I think it's pretty ironic when a Doom stream gets demonetized.
I completed episode one. It was pretty fun
I'm not really sure why I haven't played more Quake up untill this point tbh
If you love Warhammer 40K cinematic trailers as much as we do, you're in for a treat with this new one for Dawn of War 4, the upcoming real-time strategy game from King Art Games due out for PC this year, showing off the Ork Faction. Wishlist Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 on Steam if you're interested: https://store.steampowered.com/app/227236...
Quake is good for you. Quake is everywhere. Quake is for everyone. Quake is forever.

ooh neat! watching now
huh, it doesn't really show any gameplay stuff, just more of the cinematic from earlier i guess
Something wrong with my silksong
rush b
Sherma being a top champion is actually the best subtle joke in there
(for the uninitiated, not always the case but top lane champions in league tend to be very tanky bruisers that can handle being in a long lane without being blown up too easly by an ambush or another, and can realistically carry the team if they get ahead in exp and gold, which is why they are put in a solo lane)
(not always, there are some tiny top lane champions, not many though)
(also this information is at least a decade old, so things might have changed)
I'd ask what the joke is, but I still need to get around to finishing Hollow Knight haha
Sherma is a very tiny mild mannered boi
awww fair enough
Oh they just say what you should map stuff to, that is helpful
looking
what game is that
Heartopia!
Reminded me of My Time At Portia at first
