who wanted to be pinged about Persona 4 i forgot
At Fate's End (next game from the Spiritfarer devs) and Gears of War
Sea of thieves?
I need a guy to come on stage and say one more thing
oh, right, I still haven't tried Spiritfarer
Rare when will you make Banjo Threeie
LFG PERSONA 4
where spyro 4
Pirate Borderlands, but it's the movie version of Borderlands
Season 17 oml
Oh the boys video game
They made an Invincible game?
oh Invincible ?
i still need to watch season 2 and 3
I like the cell-shading tho
this looks good but do they have any gameplay
tbf that's also nearly every game where the MC is way stronger at the end
yeah it looks really nice
Lmfao
Ok probably the best genre for this
3 Viltrumites vs Invincible and two people who would die from being breathed on by a Viltrumite
oh it's a fighting game.....
I was about to comment how little I am interested in playing an Invincible game, but this makes sense
Yeah saw that coming a mile away
i think maybe a 3d type fighting game like some of the dragon ball games could have worked
feels like theres so many of these new 2d fighters
DID ANYBODY ORDER A FUCKING PIZZA
Is this part 2 out of 15 for FF7 remake?
What..
oh ! it's coming to Xbox
No that was part 1
yeah
Why is it not on xbox yet
FFXVI as well I assume
Sephiroth shows up in PArt 1? I thought Part 1 ends when you leave the city
iirc it was only on playstation for a while
It was originally a PS exclusive, I assume they had a pretty long excluvie clause on it
Sephiroth shows up every 5 minutes because he has no life
true.....
That tracks for him
it does, Sephiroth is introduced in the city
holy shit double fine
I don't remember that but I trust you
psychonauts 3
This is slighly nightmarish
In the original Sephiroth does not show up in Midgar just so we're clear
its new in Remake
I don't think I ever played as a lighthouse in a game
iirc one of the big act 1 twists was that Sephiroth ||kills the Shinra CEO who you were there to kill, which ofc throws off all of your plans||
Oh okay
ah
stop being ahead of me
it hasn't been two hours yet
whats TES
25 years of Xbox
The Elder Scrolls
Balatro mentioned

One last thing...
I do bet on TES sadly
fuuuuuuuck
Halo?
Fuck you stupid ass robot
gotta be Silksong
Nevermind
o
Alright guys but they are actually going to show it at the June Nintendo Direct
see you there
ok i believe you
Detroit: Become Human Too
but if you're wrong im gonna be upset
how many directs are there now
🤣
Another great day for Silksong fans, see you next time
idk there's the weird Outer Worlds one right after this
Next is gamescom in August
probably gonna be a June Nintendo Direct too there usually is
why would you squish the butterfly :(
oh
The irony is that they did give us new footage, so it's not nothing.
Yeah we saw Greener Path, and wall climbing
Also yeah, IDK why I didn't see this coming, they own COD now, of course that'd be the "one last thing"
did they seriously "one last thing" a CoD
Makes perfect sense
well the handheld Xbox looks pretty cool
is it over, are we free?
What games did they show
looks like an Ally with handles, which is intruiging
it'll probably harm portability, but it's not like you can fit a ROG Ally in a pocket anyway
(or a Steam Deck for that matter)
super meat boy 3d was the only good one
Indiana Jones DLC looks cool
This looks nice

I was surprised by how many new ips there was
I can't wait to cry like a baby
That was the best thing but I couldnt remember the name
Ooh
Yeah , Spiritfarer was.....it hit me harder than i expected
Wait why are we mentioning spiritfarer?
I haven't been following the stream or conversation
Was there a sequel mentioned?
This game
should have been called Persona 4 Rewind
Well I'm sold
Me too , the game looks excellent
Spiritfarer made me fully break down crying
I'm not ashamed to admit it
What a powerful experience
I haven't finished it
I stopped after the ||hedgehog lady||
The trailer for At Fate's End looks really good too
I would be hyped even if it wasn't from the Spiritfarer's dev
But it is which it's even better
What I missed in last 10 minutes on PC Gaming Show?

Den of Thieves was always going to come out, but it is headed by one of the former devs (and the voice of Wolf in the Payday series), along with a few folks from that studio.

😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭
i'm incredibly crying and happy and shitting myself
Why is call of duty black ops 7 releasing on xbox one and ps4 LMAO
Because they can and it will make some money.
Wait so Microsoft announced Xbox Ally, and the trailer just shows a fullscreen Xbox UWP app? So its still Windows but instead of the desktop booting, its the app?
I don’t think its gonna work well.
I hoped for the OS to be fully integrated but I guess its the bare minimum.
that's how it works on the ROG Ally
it's gonna run worse than bo6
welcome back bo3 for ps3/x360
this is literally bo3 ps3/x360 3
the second was bo6 on ps4/xbo
...expedition 42, what did you DO. Why is there a Souls boss fog door!?!?!

Hello everybody and welcome t...
Oh sorry I forgot it's 2025
God damn it I miss playing SCP and all the mods
I loved SCP Ultimate edition
Would love to play some of the older mods but they are on old versions and old SCP kinda sucks compared to the newer versions
that's a disturbing thumbnail... why did MLP get so accompanied by horror themes in some of its fanworks i'll never know
Minecraft I get it, it's kinda a horror game early on without some armour.
Mon Hun, strangely enough, isn't horror coded that much, you're sorta expected to work your way up to tough fights.
It has little hints of it for people that aren't hunters though
Can you please maybe get rid of that embedded thumbnail By putting < and > around the link? It's making me uncomfortable. :/
Sorry
This is a legendary picture how does it make you uncomfortable
hm I have spoilered it
Well, SCP Containment Breach is a full on horror game. And this just a mod of SCP. So I don't know why you're compared it to Minecraft
Whats this ugly smiling about ?
SCP did have some odd mods for it, I remember the MLG mod as an example. Was just funny, and very very of its time.
I kinda miss these old pony and mlg mods
I do too
Sure they were.....hit or miss ,but really charming
https://www.gameoftheyear420blazeit.com/ anyone remember this?
blazeit420
Yup
And sometimes lead to a true..... masterpieces
And there's pewdiepie playing it on the site eheh
omg yes
be me a owner and a leader of one of the three families on the strip
Want to sabotage the owner of the street and take over vegas
Shoot in the head and throw in grave courier that was delivering platinum chip
After a few days he comes back with the goddess of the sun with him
What in a goddamn ?!
I will never get over mlp mods for l4d2
Especially for some of the other mods I combine it with
it's edgy and MLP was pretty popular among edgy teenagers at some point, simple as that 😛
I was an edgy teen and that's how I got into mlp
I got into mlp because of cupcakes and rainbow factory
reminds me of myhouse.wad's sudden rise in popularity, largely thanks to that audience
although myhouse.wad stands very well on its own and is a good play even if you're not a horror fan

Kirby and the Forgotten Fish

some of those are stupid hard
Thankfully the clear time is optional
wow, apparently it's not just me
okay, Apollo may be a very entertaining bird, but THIS IS NOT THE TIME
To be fair, them saying this was literally damage control because the subreddit was about to militarise.
So it's not like it was something planned to be done that way
I finished Sly 2, so I started Sly 3 this weekend
also, remember those red-blue 3D glasses? The game supports them! I don't have a pair of those at hand, but I remember using that when I was a kid
lol I remember that too
I also remember it not feeling any different from normal play for me
I've been told the PS3 version kept that feature, while supporting active 3D glasses
I believe the biggest practical difference between 2 and 3 was that 3 overall has way more playable characters and minigames, so on that basis alone it's easy to understand someone preferring either game (personally I like 2 the most
)
mmmmmmm look at those pixel chunks in those cutscenes mm mmm!
it is interesting that FMV like that was only poppular back when pixels only came in chunks
Jason Court was 31 when he landed the role in a unique chapter of Star Wars history—playing Kyle Katarn in the groundbreaking PC game Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (1997), the sequel to the hit Dark Forces (1995). In this exclusive interview, Court reflects on how he got the part, what it was like shooting live-action cutscenes for a video game...
Yeah I just saw that video before installing the game and installing OpenJKDF2
Old Master Katarn...
yeah, kind of a shame as the tech would have been a lot better in the HD era
PS3 era games with FMVs would've been interesting
also I don't know if it's because of the music which is incredible but this game just feels so much more elaborate and higher value production than Dark Forces already
it controls like a motherfucker though I gotta say, feels like the game only really wants you moving forward and turn by aiming rather than strafing because Kyle moves around like a car, if you keep moving forward he gets so fast and strafing kills your entire momentum really hard
there's also old game controls like jump being right click/X, spacebar being interact, C for crouching, X for secondary fire
but I weirdly like all those things, I have more nostalgia for old PC game jank like this than I do for boomer shooters like Dark Forces 1 because unlike boomer shooters I grew up with old PC game jank
TIL, Windu wasn't the first purple lightsaber, and neither were the prequels the first SW live action productions to use as heavy CGI as they did
streaferunning is pretty fun in this game, but you don't jump very far due to the high gravity
it looks like Quake but controls more like Doom
and yeah, there's a basic dynamic music system in place
also, the game has online multiplayer... I have yet to try it
Supposedly the openjkdf mod reworks some multiplayer stuff but... I doubt there's any people actually playing this specifically
Jedi Academy is your best best and even then I doubt it's too big of a playerbase there too
Aahhhh I knew it
I do have Jedi Academy installed and still haven't tried it
maybe I should plan on that next weekend in between RotN sessions
The jump and movement is very weighty but the jumps do go much further than I thought they would
I'd recommend a very quick and easy mod guide before jumping into it just to ensure no issues appear considering it's quite an old game
There's certain ones that don't add many intrusive crazy options and try to keep things as vanilla as possible
being on Steam isn't enough?
I'm not really sure myself, last time I played this game it was like 2014 in windows 7 and I did use vanilla everything, but it's been a while and most of these big mods started right around that time after the source codes leaked in 2013
If you’ve been wanting to jump into Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy, chances are you’ve heard about these different client options like OpenJK, EternalJK, TaystJK, JAEnhanced, and so on. What’s the difference between them all and which should you go with?
Our recommendation is TaystJK for multiplayer, and JAEnhanced for single player.
...
OpenJk is like the base mod for all these that the others are based on and build upon, it's the first one and the most vanilla one, just fixes for modern computers basically
JAEnhanced is for any extra bells and whistles that for a first casual playthrough may not be really necessary
I guess if you're not bothered by old game stuff then you could just go vanilla though
hm, "client" sounds like multiplayer stuff, which I wouldn't be doing anyway
(if I was that bothered by "old game stuff" I just wouldn't play old games :P)
Those two are for single player only, MP client is TaystJK because vanilla MP is dead and apparently potentially unsafe as well
I know I know, but you know some people may like things like widescreen support or better aspect ratio stuff and all that
Just thought I'd throw it out there just in case
I guess personally I'd rather just play the game in a suboptimal but stable state, than spend time doing tech support for a thing I don't even know if I like yet
Yeah, if the old game stuff doesn't bother you at all then it's completely up to you, game's still great regardless, the vanilla experience worked for me for years when I was a kid
for me part of the point of revisiting old games is to see the old game stuff without any filtering, so I can form my own opinion on it
like when I played RE2 both OG and remake
I may not be a fan of tank controls and the remake may be objectively better now (don't @ me), but I totally get why they work in the originals, and the comparison itself is tons of fun
That's fair, although this is less a case of a complete overhaul and more a case of installing RE2SHD instead of playing vanilla
e.g. coming off the remake I remember being genuinely shocked that OG Mr X was "just" a handful of scripted events in fixed locations
and it turns out OG RE3 was where the boss monster started doing dynamic chasing
weird how that flipped
I'm gonna play through DF2 for the first time but with some of those OpenJKDF enhancements just because I like the support for bigger resolutions and 60+ frames and such, just some nice modern port options but otherwise the same game, I'm not even gonna install any upscale or HD mods or anything, those do kinda mess things up for me when it comes to a first playthrough
Yeah.... Tell me about it
on the flip side, I don't think I've ever felt like "this type of game peaked 30 years ago and everything since just isn't as good"
there are a few cases where I think a game that old is roughly tied with modern entries (e.g. Link to the Past is shockingly good, LBW only barely beats it for me)
but not to the point that I'd replay the old thing over and over and over
every genre I care strongly about has newer games that are as good if not better (even if they're now indie revival things long past the genre's popularity peak)
vanilla versions of JO/JK work OK on modern PCs, I would just increase FOV if playing on widescreen using the console (/cg_fov 106 for 16:9), and possibly use /r_ignorehwgamma 1; vid_restart to fix gamma issues if the game looks too dark
OpenJK is a better experience, but if you have no time for it, vanilla is still usable in 2025
it's the same for RTCW
arena shooters are a bit like that, none of the modern attempts have lasting power
did you play or see anything about Echoes of Wisdom at all? I feel like it genuinely is one of the best 2D Zelda experiences
There's a handful of old games I replay the hell out of, especially survival horror games, RE1, RE2, RE4, Silent Hill 2, 3, I don't know what it is I just don't really get tired of replaying them every so often I'll fire them up and see how I do end, I even replayed a bunch of Crow Country
Interestingly I didn't replay Signalis at all, I think I associate that game with a lot more story emphasis and I never felt the need to revisit it based on the gameplay
Metal Gear too, but for a game like that and for some of the others like RE1 or RE4 it's mostly replaying them in a short span just because I'm going through all difficulties
I never replayed a whole bunch of any Zeldas though which is the other franchise I'm super big about, I've always been okay with playing them once, but maybe I'll get on that especially now that I lost my saves for all of them
that's good to know for me too, although I'll probably go for either OpenJK or JA Enhanced since I'm replaying this game for like, the millionth time now
so it'd be cool to experience with some enhancements
well, for me Signalis and Crow Country are an(other) example of newer games matching the earlier peak of classic RE+SH (not to mention most of the RE remakes)
I have played SH2… twice? and since then it’s all analysis videos and other people’s LPs
saw a bit, never felt like playing
oh right, with multiplayer you can’t just treat popularity and quality as independent variables
It's also waaaay buggier than 2, iirc.

@slim thorn It's no small wonder why you love this game so much (at least I think you do? I think I've seen you gush about it before.)
This soundtrack is beautiful.
I love banjos so much, and to hear it played so well here just makes me so giddy.
I know Rom played it on VC before
Wish I could've seen that. Oh well.
But God I could listen to this soundtrack for years on end and not get tired of it. This song in particular has been permanently etched into my brain. Something about it just calls to me.
it's the first game I made a randomizer for, and I've played most of the "story mods" the community's made, so yeah just a bit
TIL about the "leaf sheep", which I'm posting here because I don't think I've ever seen an animal that screams "Pokemon IRL" this much
apparently it's a sea slug that photosynthesizes by "stealing" chloroplasts from the algae it eats
that's so metal
"My leaves grow greener with every algae I destroy!"
also must be some wicked biomechanics to do that
Humans do the same
They eat food containing living bacteria, they don't digest the bacteria. The bacteria lives and reproduces inside of them, and helps them digest stuff their body can't, like complex carbohydrates
If your gut bacteria dies you start to suffer, so you can undergo poop transplant surgery to steal someone else's bacteria
they really use poop for that? isn't that kind of.. unhygenic?
or is it like a really tiny piece of it or something?
It is unhygienic. That's why they make sure it's safe before they do it
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fecal_microbiota_transplant

I don't count Qin Shi Huangdi because the name doesn't ring a bell and it has to for it to count
The first emperor of China, who literally invented the title “emperor of China”.

And the second game still isn't out yet.
They released the trailers for it waaaay back in...2016? 2017?
I think there was one in 2008, actually

and hardly any competition
on the one hand, im kinda glad that xbox is doing a handheld, on the other, i know its going to be a locked-in console OS, playing games that you can buy on steam cheaper, bringing nothing unique to the table, and therefore be worse than the steam deck
yeah, I wish competition was based on the actual systems, not on the associated exclusives
a lot can be said about Apple and Android but at least those phones are competing primarily on their phone-ness
i often feel like consoles are holding back gaming more than helping
every new game needs to work on a console that, by this point, is using years old technology, has to work on a controller with limited buttons, limited hardware, on a TV...
AAA games need to function on console, which inherently limits any creativity in UI and control scheme
oh and price
oh yeah, does microsoft and sony filter the games they release in console?
pretty much; ever since the discs became glorified DRM keys, I haven't seen the value in a physical console
(except of course handhelds for those of you who actually carry them around outside
)
well the switch actually brings a unique aspect to the medium, being both a portable and stationary console genuinely brings a lot
plus unique games designed with the console specifically in mind, rather than being ports
i dont know about the swtich 2 yet but i've said for a while that the switch is the best actual console since the wii
yes I was including Switch under "handhelds" for that last statement
I wouldn't personally own one if not for the exclusives and still think it'd be healthier for everyone if games weren't so closely tied to consoles, but yes the Switch would clearly be worth owning for many people even if it wasn't relying on the Nintendo catalog
actually now i say that, i realise the xbox handheld actually DOES bring those things to the medium, admittedly a generation after nintendo did it first
but i cant trust microsoft
i know nintendo will make good games, microsoft cant even get halo right
their one unique title
"unique"
yeah...
(funny you phrase it that way, since half of Infinite's problem was being less Halo than a usual Halo)
I only played bits and pieces of the infinite insider test thing a while back and enjoyed it
5 was really good
Overall halo has been in a decent spot with 343
thats a brave take
I never understood the hate for 343 (well, beyond all the usual reasons the successor studio would get it before any actual fault) since 4 and 5 were perfectly solid, 5 even bringing good new ideas to the table, at least in the single player I can judge
Infinite felt way more like corporate mandates that don't gel with a Halo game than a developer issue
Probably because 4 and 5 were... fine
Halo was HUGE remember, 1 and 2 were literally the main selling points of Xbox Live, the first successful online console thing
They needed to be amazing and what we got was mediocre
Also the story was dum
oh yeah I remember
I was the only one who liked 5's story and I was upset that Infinite basically said "that all got resolved off-screen, don't worry about it, now let's redo a strange mish-mash of plot points from 4 and 5 since none of you remember those right"
I thought about it and realised I can't really name a Nintendo game I've played with a really good story. What should I check out to get that?
In this case I'm classifying Breath of the Wild & Splatoon, as being very immersive and rich in lore but the actual stories and characters tend to be nothing crazy
Paper mario and paper mario the thousand year door
ah yep, thousand year door is on switch right?
Nintendo don't generally focus on story, they focus on world design, level design and solid gameplay usually
Oh, the metroid prime games?
Super Paper Mario, Wind Waker, most Fire Emblems, Kirby if you squint hard enough...
Wind waker, twilight princess and shudders skyward sword, yeah
Forgot there was much more lore and story in those games
ooh yeah actually, Three Houses is good right?
I didn't really hear anything good (nor bad) about Fire Emblem Engage
yeah, maybe I'll check out one of those
If you want to play TTYD, the remake is the definitive version.
I have Astral Chain unfinished but the gameplay is not a genre I'm familiar with
yeah TTYD and Three Houses seem up my alley
I'd recommend the original paper mario first, as ttyd is just better pm
pm?
Paper mario
ah yeah
Sorry I didn't feel like typing paper mario out again, because paper mario is long
Paper mario
The problem with Paper Mario is that it's a nearly 30 year old game with no real "better" way to play it
Well you can emulate it very cheaply
whaaaat I would never even consider that .. . . out loud
It's fine on dolphin
Fortune Street for Wii is 🔥 if you get it for the bargain price of 0 bucks
That is, TTYD
I 'spose.
But like, I'm thinking in terms of a modern player trying it out without all the bells and whistles TTYD remake has
If we're recommending games, pikmin 1 and 2 are fire af tho basically have zero story
I didn't personally enjoy 3 and 4 is fun but still feels... off to me
yeah I sometimes find that emu- I mean playing very old titles. The lack of common convenince features makes me less likely to come back the next day
Chrono Trigger was perfect though, I was blown away by how seamless it was to play
fuck nintendo say the quiet part out loud and advocate piracy
Fucking millennial
Back in my day we had 8 bits and liked it
Conveniences like "autosaving?" We didn't have any saving
they're great, but they don't tell strong narratives
unless you're the kind of person who likes being let loose in a world with near zero context and spending half your playtime scanning every other rock, then the Metroid Primes are uniquely strong lol
iirc you can install steam on it
yeah it can be really cool but would probably be for similar reasons as BOTW, not what I'm thinking of
are you calling me a millennial or yourself a millennial?
It was a joke, I am a millennial
lol
I was gonna sa Gen Z doesn't know how to pirate games, it's a logical conclusion
I've only played Fire Emblems 7-10 myself, but of those 9 (Path of Radiance) absolutely had the best story. But I can't vouch for how it compares to e.g. Three Houses since I'm only ~halfway into Awakening atm.
there's so many Fire Emblems wtf
Needs more fire, less emblem
careful, that's how you turn into FE9's final boss
sounds good! definitely appreciate tips on which entries are the best in a series like that, because I'd probably just play a few
looking at Final Fantasy in particular
yeah, FF is another series you probably need to gather multiple opinions on
I'd like to play 4, 6, 7, and 10. Most interested in 6, then 7, and the other two I'll see if I get around to
e.g. I've personally only played 7 and 9, so I can vouch for those both having great stories (albeit enormous ones that badly require you to dedicate enough time to get through the games before you forget everything)
ooh 9
but ofc if we're dropping the "Nintendo" qualifier and it's just best stories in any games, then I have to point at things like Disco Elysium or Planescape: Torment or Signalis or Silent Hill 2 for my personal preferences
Bin are you looking for uniquely Nintendo games or just games for the switch?
Good choices
looking for Nintendo properties yeah, happy to talk about other games tho ofc
Try the phoenix wright games
gotta end our epic saga with a nice cozy save-the-world final boss, got it
Lol
definitely! I have the original trilogy purchased I'm just sitting on it unplayed (like disco elysium)
(that's actually a very strong trend in the examples listed so far, both ways, lol)
I love seeing people experiencing phoenix wright for the first time
Join the thread for it when you start playing!
or in my case, the second time after forgetting everything
||still can't believe he tampered with the bird witness, who does that||
my steam library has OMORI, In Stars and Time, Yume Nikki, and Your Turn To Die of which I can be confident at least one of will become an obsession based on other games I enjoy
indeed, if I had infinite free time I'd likely have fit in some or all of those at some point
it's so hard to choose what game to play only to end up putting another 100 hours into Minecraft, but I choose carefully
Phoenix Wright does have the very obvious stopping points between the "cases", so that's a good one to do side-by-side with another game
mmm, would you say that if I enjoyed Phoenix Wright then I'd enjoy watching a streamer play through it after I've beaten the game?
context is one of my favourite streamers has playthroughs for basically every game in the series so I could just watch them play
personally I can't stand when people try to do amateur voice acting on every single line of a VN like that
lmao
but otherwise yeah it's definitely the kind of story where seeing other people's reactions, and who guessed what correctly how soon, is a big part of the fun
Unless they're good amateurs
oh I'm absolutely losing my mind watching this youtube lets-player piece together THE reveal from Zero Time Dilemma
I still need to play that one, I've finished 999 and VLR
I won't say a word more
that mystery aspect is one of the only things the third entry has going for it

Some streamers add voices which add to the experience
if you want voices watch the anime
Still need to watch that!
this makes the whole videos worth it
Cataquack is from Mario Sunshine, No. 48 is from Mario Land 2, Elder Shrooboid is Partners in Time and Rat Funk is Super Mario RPG.
thank you Google-fu
... okay hoiw the fuck does this guy go from making an hour long video on matchup methods that uses Fate footage to geeking out over a goddamn manta ray for half an hour
Adhd probably

this is why i remain a doc mario main
Fun fact about Doc Maero, their neutral air's sweet spot in near the end of the moves life span rather than the beginning.
Unlike... basically every other single hit n-air out there
It can be really silly edge guarding with that move
GOD I LOVE DOC
Try the n-air, it feels very silly to land the sweet spot

I went to war with the Italian revolt for the duchy of Verona, which I got a claim on thanks to the pope, but winning the war didn't give me Verona, it gave me the whole of the revolt https://i.imgur.com/hECS9z9.png
The king of Italy doesn't mind, since I got it legally, and I ended the war fast, so the revolters couldn't surrender to the king for protection

this seems like something you'd call your friend when they're acting out of pocket
"Dave, you blitzball ass"
apparently SAG has suspended the strike against video games
I mean, he is a bit of a Blitzball-ass character.
What character/game is that?
Final Fantasy X
On a similar topic, during my stint at EA customer service for SWTOR, my favorite ticket ever was someone who was playing and they came across a space ship with the name ACE-PLUG 642, in english.
...The game was also fully translated in to German.
You can see where I'm going with this.
🍑
I remember always wanting to get into SWTOR especially because as a kid I would never say no to a Star Wars game that was $Free.99
but as a kid I didn't have a computer strong enough to run it and then I never got around to playing it
Maybe I should give it a shot sometime, I mean what do I have to lose?
unless it's one of those mmorpgs that are really really bad, in which case maybe not lol
Interwar tank designs be like for some reason
It's actually pretty good! It is free to play, but what I'd recommend is one month sub, which unlocks all expansions' story/mission content up to the current status. Which is like 5 xpacs by now? Also I think you're limited in level as a pure free to play, but the 1 month unlocks the ability to go max level even if you unsub
There's 8 classes and they all have their own storyline, then the first two expansions have their campaign stories and I think some class specific stuff, by the third xpac (knights of the fallen empire/eternal throne) it's all one story for all classes, but it's a biiiig story
And it's all Old Republic era stuff
Content being unlocked even if you cancel the sub does sound really good
Although if enough substantial content is available for f2ps that sounds great because I don't even know if I like mmorpgs at all, it would kinda be the first one I even try at all, so it would be a great way to just try it out and see how it goes

also til Replays in GG Strive record your inputs
and i am a FILTHY BUTTON MASHER

It's not all of it. I think it's like 6 or so xpacs total past the initial (level 50) content? I think you get the up to 50 stuff (class missions), then Rise of the Hutt Cartel, and then Shadow of Revan. The rest afterwards I think is not counted
Lame, even Neoptolemus was a king.
Yep, just checked it. First two are included for the free stuff and its a lot of good stuff, the rest of the big story stuff i mentioned before starts with knights of fallen empire, etc, that needs t he sub
can popes even drink

MGS Delta: Snake vs Ape for Playstation, Snake vs Bomberman for Xbox versions
Secret Theater is back and there's some new original MGS Delta secret theater scenes
new MGO mode: Fox Hunt
I'm glad this is looking to be an experience worth going through even for people who already played MGS3 with all the new stuff that's being added on top of the entire gameplay just feeling like a much smoother modern version of what MGS3 already does, which is what a remake should always be
It's not quite the old MGO, but they are right in saying that the landscape of online games has changed and the appeal of simply full-on deathmatch servers isn't quite enough today
I imagine Foxhunt will have various different modes with various objectives but functionally, it's basically MGO
alright now I'm gonna skip the entire showcase to see the Silent Hill news
this is so good omg
couple of gameplay shots of Silent Hill f
some of the new enemies
The team members and directors sound like they're really putting their everything into this and they seem very passionate about it, they might be cooking something great here

lol, this is a real thing? I would have thought this is a shitpost usually
gotta use your franchises somehow...
Have any of u ever played the Mutant Beasts mod??
If u did, which one of the 4 main ones (creeper, skeleton, zombie, & enderman) did you have the most trouble fighting?
I only saw YTers play with the mod (I had no idea how to install mc mods back then) but this def reminds me of mod showcases, which have practically gone extinct nowadays
Popularmmos was the goat. It's sad to see and hear all that has happened to him since then
Yeah, that was very unfortunate, he was one of my most watched YTers back in the day
I do want to say the cops handled that situation very very bad, and that's all i can say
(they ridiculed him for being a YouTuber, basically)
But yea, i agree. He doesn't really deserve this. He was also one of the YouTubers i used to watch back then
watching old Jonas Neubauer Tetris matches and man, it's so sad how young he died
oh damn, that's cool
I remember this from back when Halo 3 was being hyped up
Halo at the time was huge right?
I've installed a bunch of games on my Ally X, Halo MCC is one of them
wait, is that the new XBOX handheld you're talking about?
yeah, the original trilogy was massive
trying to pick early-mid 2010s games mostly, so they run well without community patches but are not too demanding for 60 FPS
Halo 1 basically made console FPSs a thing
and Halo 2 basically made multiplayer console FPSs a thing
it's the handheld the Xbox Ally will be based on
Ah I see, fair enough
How's it to play games on?
Yeah that's right, Halo 2 sort of made that cool
it works well, Forza Horizon 4 can do 1080p60 with medium settings
I installed SteamOS earlier this week, so the interface is the same as a Steam Deck
oh awesome
I never personally looked up sales numbers but it feels like 3 was the peak of the franchise's mainstream popularity
I've kinda given up trying to get "Good Multiplayer FPS" on PC after being served 3 separate video ads after each match in "The Finals". If i'm gonna deal with that, I may as well play R6S, so I'm re-installing that.
Yeah could well be Ixrec
while 4, 5 and Infinite feel like... well, the term "sequel trilogy" is a bit tainted but honestly the situation is not that different from Star Wars's ST
was 4 and 5 bad? I've not played em
so I enjoyed 4 and 5 about as much as 1-3
The Finals mentioned!!1
in fact 5 has the most unique core gameplay loop of 1-5 in a few ways, mainly additional movement options (jetpack hover/slide) and controllable NPC spartans; it's the one I often "miss" features from when I replay the other Halos
Do you play The Finals Calinou?
Ah, seems neat Ixrec
but story-wise, Infinite throws out everything 5 was doing, and 5 arguably undoes some of what 4 did; they certainly were not written together as a coherent story the way 1-3 feel like they were
(although I'm sure 1 was originally written without any sequel guarantees, you don't feel that when playing 1-3)
ah, that's a shame
and, let's face it: you can't really match the peak of "made console FPS a thing", at some point you can only go downhill
Oh right: and Infinite is the least interesting for gameplay. It's still fun, but IMO everything it does well was already done well in 1-5 (especially 3), so it's the only main entry I never felt like replaying. In particular, "open world" just doesn't make sense for Halo. It was never that kind of game.
even the Halo: Reach prequel managed to stand out by focusing on a bunch of other spartans who... don't have the extreme plot armor that Master Chief does
ah right, that's a fair point
Hell Halo is kinda built on "cool levels"
The Library
but it does feel like everyone just lost interest in the series after Infinite came out and seemingly impressed no one
yeahh
it's funny you picked this example because that's the usual pick for a Halo level that overstayed its welcome
(but I agree it looks cool, if you just deleted a couple of the cool but copy-pasted hallways no one would mind)
huh, I guess when I played, it just seemed difficult, and fun
probably part of it is that I hear chatter from the kind of people who replay Halo on higher difficulties
and every level is longer on the higher difficulties
iirc even for Legendary speedrunners, certain parts of the Library are just RNG
like when you get locked in that tiny room and flood pour in, including the shotgun guys who can one-shot you at that range on that difficulty
anyway
I guess if I had to pick a single "cool iconic Halo level", it'd be The Silent Cartographer
that has a nice mix of indoor/outer, vehicle/non-vehicle, beach/forest/forerunner terrain, all the major covenant types including hunters and cloaked elites, all tightly interconnected in a straightforward but effective way
(and I'm pretty sure I'd be saying that even if it wasn't the specific level that Outer Wilds referenced)
I did play 2016 and Eternal, haven't felt like TDA
2016 was really fun at the time in part because it's such a different approach to shooting from the Halos
oh, with Halo 3's "The Covenant" as a close second, probably first for some (all the "nice mixes" apply here too, but also there's both covenant and flood, it even has the double scarab setpiece fight, and there's even a good back-and-forth story-wise with which of your allies and enemies make headway in what order)
2016's multiplayer was made by the same devs as Halo 4 multiplayer, which is why they feel quite alike
singleplayer is a different story, of course
nice.
wait until you discover Snooze + crit charged fsmash at ledge
or Snooze + Psyche Up charged fsmash at ledge, that should work too
oh hell yeah you can actually sort of bhop in this game, good to know
who needs force powers man
why cant they fly using the force, are they stupid
look at the specs requirement for this game I found on Steam
Cookie if you can spot what's sus about this
No cookies for me, it seems. What's wrong with it? Is it the fact that the CPU recommendations are the same for both?
16GB RTX 3070 never made it to retail
As far as I know, every 3070 only ever had 8GB of VRAM.
idk why but it reminded me of the undertale soundtrack system requirements
The only serious one is the storage space, lol
and yes, it is a shitload of ram/vram
it reeks of unoptimized Unreal 5
what in the fuck
As I said. Horror.
This gives me the same feeling I would get as a kid watching the Star Wars prequels everytime Coruscant would appear on screen and you see all the busy traffic in the background
Or Trantor in Foundation. City planets, basically
makes me think of Star Wars 1313, what could have been
Deltarune OST has a different type of comment lol.
my goodness this platforming
I know this was checks date 1997 but man
it's not even that it's particularly unresponsive though that too a little bit, but it's just so tricky and unclear the first time
but also something cool I noticed while swinging this thing around is that it actually controls fairly similar to how they'd make it control in Outcast and Jedi Academy later on, where the swings you perform are dictated by which direction you're currently moving in, which is actually pretty cool, left and right for wide swings, back for a nice upwards slash and forward for a little flurry
it adds a little bit more intentionality behind the combat instead of just being wild random swings every time, makes you feel more in control of what you're actually doing
also I heard that the Mysteries of the Sith expansion for this game is god awful so I'm excited to see what that's gonna be like
but it has Mara Jade as the protagonist so I gotta check it out
Rimworld devs fixed pathing
Previously it was singlethreaded with some sort of node-based shortcut that made it commit all sorts of silly mistakes
Now it's multithreaded and works properly
I can't wait to somehow fuck shit up because I adjusted my gameplay to my pawns pathing like drunk chickens for half a decade.
Good shit though
This is what a great management game looks like before it dies.
I remember that stage
it's not awful but it's worse than the first game
...like most 90s game expansion packs, to be fair
I think only HL: Opposing Force is a real standout
most expansion packs are not terrible either, but some exceptions like Duke Nukem 3D: Nuclear Winter exist
YOU'RE NOT MEEEEE
that is adorable
The fatty whale cosplay is insane

EXPLOSIIIOOOON
You know this is making me realize I never actually played a single Kirby game before
I don't even know what they're about
smal pink ball kills god
@fresh bane Do you want some recommendations on which Kirby game to play first? You have a lifelong Kirby fan right here to give some (probably) good opinions
I mean I can't say I'm aching to play Kirby right now but now that I'm thinking about it I guess I could get one or two recommendations to check what these games are like in the future
I understand this reference, lol.
i do know that super kirby clash 2 is free and there’s a couple of free demos too
wait is it 2? i can never remember i haven’t played that game in years
Okay so first of all, this is my opinion and I'm very partial towards praising Kirby games in general, this shit is my blood
So, I think some good picks are Kirby Super Star/Ultra (The DS remake that adds new content, but DS games are kind of a pain to play IME), Return to Dreamland (Either the original Wii version or the Switch rerelease are good, the Switch version also has new content, but shouldn't really have bearing what you play, both are good games and are very much the smae outside of one or two additions)
I personally love Triple Deluxe on 3DS, but that was the first Kirby game I played since like Super Star so I do have a bias towards it and even then I think while it's not a bad game overall, you should probably not pick it as your first. Planet Robobot on the other hand is very much a solid pick (Same console/engine, just a lot more polished IMO)
Finally there's Forgotten Land, the newest entry in the series and also one that completely changes the game from 2D platformer to 3D linear sorta collectathon-ish gameplay. It's a fantastic game to be sure, but it's not exactly representitive of a majority of Kirby games.
Special mention to Kirby Star Allies for basically being a big celebration of the franchise as a whole. but it only got really good with the last update/free DLC patch and a lot of that comes from the fanservice so I would say avoid that until you get some familarity with the other games.
One game I would advise avoiding outright is the original Kirby's Adventure, since Nightmare in Dreamland is basically a wholly superior version of it and there's little reason to play it other than seeing how badly it aged, lmao.
There's other games like Kirby 64 the Crystal Shards and Kirby and the Amazing Mirror that have their own quirks (the latter being an up to 4 player metroidvania and the former being a 2.5D game that features the ability to have two powers at once (so like you can combine Fire with Sword to make a big flaming sword you yeet at enemies or fire and bomb to make a firework)
as you can tell i like Kirby a fair bit

I think Kirby Super Star Ultra is both the best version and the easiest to play
It is but I do have nostalgia for the OG Super Star because I had it on Virtual Console
The original is not bad
I am 100% biased, ngl
Ultra is probably the better pick (Hell, any of the updated ports like Return to Dreamland DX or Nightmare in Dreamland are)
tho Return DX has one quirk that i find hilarious, that one of the bosses on the Extra difficulty had their theme replaced with Roar of Dedede from Forgotten Land
which i can't even be mad at, that's just a straight objectively good choice
fwiw, I've personally played Amazing Mirror, Canvas Curse and Epic Yarn; I enjoyed all of those, though didn't feel any were god-tier must-plays, and obviously that's nowhere near enough of the series to give advice as useful as Hc's
Forgotten Land is good
https://i.imgur.com/D7AhCvb.png You don't have to make it weird, we're married
After two thousand hours of stalling in case I got this achievement at random, it finally happened https://i.imgur.com/1jfEx5b.png
That is a PITA to do. Congrats.
Thanks
In order to maximize your chances you need to invite a smart person with each education type and level four education trait and assign them to the appropriate child then get lucky five times
And you also need to manually assign each child to the education focus they need or else they're unlikely
In my case I just made sure to have as many children as possible
I'd say "useful" is subjective when dealing with someone who absolutely adores the Kirby series
Today I learned an interesting fact about the Islamic Iqta system, wherein the Caliph granted land to nobles and commanders in lieu of salary, expecting them to maintain troops and collect taxes (keeping some for their use).
Turns out that unlike in CK2, it was not supposed to be hereditary, and when you die the land is assigned to someone else
It only became hereditary in regions of decentralized rules, and eventually this decentralized rule progressed into full autonomy, where the local leaders had full control and no longer reported to the Caliph
You were supposed to have regular audits, and income beyond a set limit was sent back to the Caliph, who was expected to use it for the good of all Muslims
In CK2, both Caliphs and smaller rulers had Turkish-style open succession where the strongest or most fortunate of your sons inherited your position
(even in times prior to the succession system existing)
TBH, that's how most "feudal" systems (very heavy scare quotes there) get started. The king appoints local governors and in theory they're supposed to just be appointed representatives of the king who can be replaced at will or at least arbitrarily at death, but in practice they try to manuever their way into it being hereditary.
You see similar patterns in Ancient Egypt with the nomarchs during various periods, and in Japan in the Nara period leading into the long decentralization of the Heian period and the shogunates.
I wonder what a good way to simulate that would be in CK2.
You start with viceroyalties for kingdoms, duchies and counties, plus free retraction of titles and vassals. Vassals give you less tax and levy if they don't like you (CK3 has the hooks system which is more effective for this) and may rebel if they think they can win
There still needs to be a good way to simulate the natural move from centralization to decentralization that is actually hard to combat
Vassals have plots and can use hooks (in CK3) to get you to appoint their children as count/duke/king after them, and if that happens several times then they can also get plots to convert from a viceroyalty to a hereditary holding.
They're especially likely to do this when the ruler has just ascended, so it becomes difficult to oppose them.
FN Surcuof, based on the submarine Surcuof!
Well, its literally just the sub under all those extra additions
lmao
Omg amazing
I've been waiting to do this for years but never had the hardware. I can now seamlessly play my PC games in the theater room. My old PC acts as the middleman. I'm using Moonlight and Sunshine to connect them. It's magic and perfect.
whoa, nice
these days, Apollo + Artemis tends to be used more since they perform automatic resolution/refresh rate changing (useful for streaming to devices of varied resolution). They create a virtual display so your PC's display is unaffected
Wish we AMD users had an equivalent to that
Awesome setup!
I just use a really long HDMI cable
I do that too because it has lower latency and higher quality
4K 144 Hz gaming in the living room from a 5090 is pretty nice
Oh, damn! I had in mind that there was some NVidia exclusive thing that AMD didn't have at some point.
I switch hardware pretty regularly and remember that I was super happy with that Nvidia implementation, but had trouble getting a similar streaming quality with my back-then AMD gpu
Might try again sometime.
the server part used to be NVIDIA-only until Sunshine came along
NVIDIA eventually deprecated GameStream and removed it from their drivers last year
You don't need any GPU to do that
As mentioned above, in the past I only really had decent streaming quality with that Nvidia protocol
it's been a while
Oh thank you for the tip! I've never done anything like this before so I must have been using old info
I didn’t know Tomb Raider 2 was gonna start this hard. Looks deceitfully easy but I died like ten times.
this is a rather new development (6 months ago or so)

Hat In Time but modded?
No it's vanilla
You can play as Bow Kid standard now instead of as being her as player 2 in co-op
The book screenshot is just because the devs are based
Tbh, I didn't even know there was another kid besides Hat Kid and Mustache Girl
look at this guy crawling around the pipes like an insect, what a weirdo
''is that our boss up there?
''
why did you kill that poor man 😭

Falcon, Pawwwnch!
Kirby's inhale move is probably the single move that took the most artist time in Ultimate
gotta design 85 heads for Kirby now
fun fact: you can use the move airborne and reverse your facing direction at the beginning (B reverse), which can be useful when recovering high to ledge to catch opponents offguard
well it's more like 24
god i love playing Kirby
damn, that looked sick
okay i might be getting too into this whole combo thing
i had a much sicker one that had Link bounce off of the bottom of the stage to his death instead of me having to ledgeguard
Also fun fact, the same can be said for Ganondorf, but unlike Captain Falcon, Ganondorf's version is actually stronger in the air (somehow) but there is no possible way to land it normally unless you get launched really high by the opponent, or if you do major disrespect and jump off the ledge to edge-guard low
(And yes, Kirby's version acts the same way except he could get much higher on his own due to... being Kirby and not Ganondorf)
My perfect husband divorced me because some rando gave him a temple in another country https://i.imgur.com/MrfeN1E.png

the energy sword might be one of the most fun fps weapons ive ever used
it's so ridiculously satisfying

adding a burst of forward movement to the actual swing was such a great choice
Cool

you're supposed to see the hammer in 2 and then be mad you can't use it before starting 3

also probably the best sword fly in the speedrun
I should play halo again myself, but it's most fun co-op
I do have MCC
work just ended for me today
and my PTO starts this friday, depending how much you're looking for
np
the rocket launcher is really good too
I feel like lock-on is fun at first, but quickly turns into "okay this is the weapon I pick up when banshees exist" and it feels more like a scripted turret sequence than a true choice of weapons, so I'm personally on board with later Halos giving you stuff like the Spartan Laser instead so it's more viable to aim at vehicles and then also use the leftover ammo for non vehicles
but that's a very vague half-remembered impression, I have not played 2 or 3 in years
Oh the laser is awesome
i think my favorite video game rocket launcher is HL2, i love the guided missile
I do disagree tho
The launcher is a power weapon, you use it for fun or for a tough enemy
I don't remember how I deal with banshees in 2, maybe I did just use the launcher
my memory is I'm more likely to kill myself than the enemy if I try using it anywhere other than an outdoor vehicle fight, but again that was a long time ago, and I might be remembering legendary more than normal/heroic since legendary runs take so much more time and effort
i get what you're saying Ix, the level i just completed gave me a rocket launcher with just enough ammo to deal with two Banshees, which was fun, but did feel more like a scripted turret part
THE HAMMER
Thr hammer was in 2? Man I don't remember that game
and of course this is Halo 2 we're talking about, half the game is just great and the other half is "good stuff that needed one or two tweaks to be great" and oh look at all the tweaks in 3
Was there a boss fight in 2 with it?
do you like the Arbiter levels
Mega: you're probably thinking of ||the Tartarus fight at the end||
I actually think I prefer 2
The gameplay in 3 was better, agreed, but I dunno
2 was just the right amount of cheesy action
Plus nostalgia, it was my first halo, first online console gaming
Might have been my first fps actually
3 is better tho, better balanced, better gameplay, forge...
and some people just like the less polished experiences
Ye
I often lean towards 1 when I'm forced to choose and that's obviously less polished than 3
I got 1 after I played 3, I have no real special attachment to it, but it's still good
and then 5 gets the weird distinction of being by far the most interesting Halo not in the MCC

Game: Super Mario R...
home now, looks like 15 min download? i think?
lets say 20 to be safe
...now its 25 anyway
lol
damn i thought this was gonna be a fast install, but no i had time to go cook food in the time it took
and its still not done
oh right, I forgot to pause my torrents to speed up my own install
lol
wheeee
mine's looking like ~50m to install
dangit
no worries
im just annoyed i chose to eat a snack than the pizza i have im my fridge that goes off today
can you believe the internet in 2025 still takes a whole hour to download 30 gigs of game
what are we even paying them for
My phone gets 400mbps, which means a 30 gigabyte game should be ten minutes
the download was about 20 mins, installing the game took longer
ah, my Steam claims to be installing in parallel with the download, but we'll see how true that is when it's done
if you structure your installer properly this is very doable
oh I'm sure it's doing something, my skepticism is of the "you're done installing the installer, now let's run the installer to install your game" variety
redistributing the redistributor
1- decomposable compression makes it possible to download files one by one.
2- once uncompressed, you can just put most files in the correct folders
3- dependencies can be precomputed for popular hardware configurations and prepared in parallel.
4- environment setup (create directory tree, placholder files, empty registry entries) can be done first thing or at any time
Steps like actual system changes have to be done at a fixed time and in order
So it's likely that it'll do a bunch of installation whenever it can, and also need a bunch more time at the end

lol
it thinks it's installing files it hasn't downloaded yet...
its gonna go through installing the files a few times as i think each campaign is different install
or more likely, the second bar is excluding some of the "data" from the total so the numbers aren't comparable
its not letting me sign into my microsoft account >:(
Ok there we go
Weirdly annoying process for something that should be like 2 clicks
FUCK SHIT ARSE
sweet
vc?
gotta do the M$ account stuff first
Your knee of justice struck his back-spike with such force without shattering that Giga just up and died.
now that i have a heavy character it's time to start drop kicking motherfuckers
I forgot how Goddamn freaky Bowser is in that form.
This guy fucking disappeared so I can't win the war against him. Somehow he's everywhere at once https://i.imgur.com/4aBAbDK.png
riding my horsie around getting to mission spots while listening to tapes is a total vibe I gotta say
it's just too bad I gotta pay extra attention to the subtitles playing like this because the JP voices of BB, Kaz and Ocelot are super similar
why not listen to it in english?
I already have multiple times, I wanted to replay it in jp this time
it reminds me more of Peace Walker that way (I also have a Peace Walker BB mod)
ah wow, nice
and fair enough on PW
I've... still got to play through MGS V. the PC controls were really bad, but I might try again with a controller
I disagree on the controls but I'm not necessarily gonna argue about it, for me though they feel like second nature I'm very comfortable playing this on a keyboard and mouse
It's partly the reason why I got super into Helldivers because that game controls eerily close to this game
I just wish I could re-bind a few things
it doesn't even seem to have that as an option
seems to let me rebind stuff
I never felt the need to but I can see others feeling like rebinding stuff around
hmm
I guess I just got very used to the default bindings on PC for this
Let me re-open it up and see, maybe I really just missed it after completing the tutorial
To be fair to you, MGS games are made for a PS controller specifically
But, this was the first time they did the multi-platform release for MGS and I personally think they did a great job on PC, also the game is weirdly extremely well optimized in my experience, I remember running TPP on a very old low end computer in like 2018
i think ive been playing too much Halo because i saw Master Chief for a split second
huh, I really did just miss the menu. I went into controls instead of key bindings, 👓
thanks for the help Nire
Yeah everytime these games have control setting tabs they almost always have ''PC Settings'' or ''Key Binding Settings'' tabs separately for the PC version I've noticed
Arbiter is such a badass he only needs one hand to hold an SMG
hand ?
idk
claw ?
Oopsie Woopsie
The Seal the Deal DLC has a bunch of incompetent seals as the crew on a cruise ship and dey aww tawk wike dis
Egg
in these trying times?
🥚
Seal: Egg.
Me: O-Okay. I don't - I don't know what to do with this information. I don't know if I want anything to do with this information.
not the :3 key
I'm over here sweating out over this shooting challenge and I got some damn furry next to me talking about touching D-Dog's paw pads
I can't talk right now Ocelot, I'm doing something important here

Well.....i did it
Was it worth it ? Probably yeah , but tbh fan campaigns and maps are much more fun than most of the official ones
Also the nightmare achievements look really funny together
woo nicely done
Is that an achievement for finishing quake without killing any enemies?
Only the first level it would ve been incredibly hard to do on later levels
maybe I can play next week 🙂
congrats!! I did it too
my last achievement was discharging without dying in multiplayer, I did it by joining a server on dm3 and grabbing LG + pent. 10 seconds in, a player jumps in water, I discharge and they ragequit
fun fact: the "You're not supposed to be here!" achievement icon is a reference to Quake Saturn's loading screen
for some reason, loading screens on the Saturn loved having the game's protagonist doing a "ssh!" gesture to the viewer. Rayman is the same, it was also in the PS1 version
The Painless Maze is a no-damage achievement on one of Quake's hardest levels, doing it single segment is very difficult but thankfully, you can load saves
Lol , its funny , because Ranger my man what are you shhushing about ? You are the one running with loud nail gun and rocket launcher
it's possible to play it quiet in Quake, it's useful if you grab ring. Avoid jumping at all costs, avoid bumping into enemies, use RL/GL as much as possible
Quake 1 enemies are not aware of your jump sound still, unlike Quake 2
Oh it was such a nightmare even with saves
HAH, i had the same thing , but instead of rage quitting he wrote in a chat something like "AGAIN !?"
nowadays, it's a 70gb + download....
I play competitive Quake weekly so I'm pretty used to strats on The Big Three (dm2/dm3/e1m2)
the weirdest strat is probably the one that involves grabbing pent on dm3, then going to RL and standing on the player spawnpoint next to it so that any respawning players are telefragged by you (pent deflects telefrag attempts)
does WoW still use torrents to deliver the game files? I remember this was done at some point
I'm not sure
I do remember that but I don't know if it ever changed
RIP nexus mods then
now where are we all gonna go for game mods
github?
It was getting worse and worse anyway
There's GitHub, thunderstore, a bunch of other platforms
GitHub isn't quite as centralized for game mods, it also can't host files > 2 GB each. HD texture mods often exceed this size
it's a very good platform otherwise, I can't believe how many things it offers for free (and with no ads to boot)
nah its a blessing, no more shitass vortex manager
On prime this week
god forbid you need to bulk install mods on vortex, gg
of the games I’ve played modded, only one used Steam Workshop, and the mod dev seemed to have mixed results from that decision
Workshop is nice but it won't help you if you got your game on EGS, GOG, etc
Thank goodness GitHub is good for Balatro mods
You never needed to use vortex
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Gv0eQjJ-gY ! new content patch!
Now in Early Access, Hades II is the bewitching sequel to the award-winning rogue-like dungeon crawler, and just got its third Major Update! It expands core combat, Guardian encounters, and the story, with lots of new visual flair!
Music: "Rock and a Hard Place" by Darren Korb feat. Erin Yvette, Ashley Barrett, and Judy Alice Lee, from the Hade...
no 😔
I just always manually install mods
Still early access, however this is probably the last full "content" patch, so gameplay wise this is what it'll look like. They might still add some story element stuff as the launch approaches though
Marathon has been delayed. No release date as of today https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/marathon_update
soon?
I need to get on that, I gotta play more of this game last session I played I was so close
I feel like when I bought Hades 2 it felt pretty complete to me so I feel like I'm playing the game earlier than everyone else
I better make some backups of some of my favourite mods, just in case
im waiting for full release but whenever i hear more about it the temptation to play Early Access gets stronger
I'll probably just play Hades 2 whenever the mood strikes me, whether that's during EA or after full release
I'd guess end of this year or jan/feb ish 2026

She has a model now too
yay TR remastered!!
man that new banner is gorgeous
they have a dramatic reading of the patch notes?
I don't even recognize one of the characters on the thumbnail... that should tell you how little I still know about this game

Sims 4 rendition?
Took me 20 min too make her but 2 hours to find werewolf cc
hades 2? more like YAYdes WOO i like it a lot, have just gotten new update downloaded
how is HADES 2 Clean Sweep?
I forgot about this part. These crow things sometimes ask you to put in words to describe things and it asked "What legal term would you use to describe your crime?" I was being facetious and accidentally created gold.
Pretty damn great, the new additions in this patch definitely need some tweaking I feel, but it's great fun to be experimenting
Also Mustache Girl sounds like Hakos Baelz
There being more Mongolians than French, Swedish and Danish players combined in the CS Major playoffs is really funny
Apparently the Chinese CS scene is actually improving because the Mongolians are actually giving them a decent challenge for once
(Chinese CS is known for "all aim, no brain", due to the relative lack of other players in the region leading to all the good players only developing aim
oh neat
how is the CS scene atm? I've not been following much. Any major tournaments coming up?
