No way
So what do you think? Is nintendo directing you?
Hnnnfnnfnfn nnnnnyyyeeensss

The prices are terrible, but the games look goooooood.
We'll work on that first one together. <3
i thought tekken couldnt get worse,i was proven so fucking wrong
apart from graphics tekken 7 is literally better in every way
this sparks joy
kinda half meme but it just makes this a million times funnier and is relevant to the current state of the game
They had the China-exclusive iQue DS Lite
I decided to pickup a booster box of yu-gi-oh quarter century stampede.
Oooo what did you pull?
It's coming sometime between the 22nd and the 28th, I'm going for the dragonmaid cards and the black rose dragon cards.
that's quite the review bomb
what happened to make T8 get such bad reviews? I'm out of the loop
last i heard it was going ok
its player count looks like this
I assume a new unpopular update
my prayers go to the 43 people who left a positive review in those trying times
oh dear lord
most recent negative reviews are focused on the balance changes being not focused on improving defense enough, despite developers saying it was their focus
it also got a bunch of negative reviews last year related to its MTX policy
right right, that's a shame
it seems like the balance team has a tendency to overtune characters to remove their weaknesses
I've seen this happen numerous times (even Project M did it back in the day), it makes sense to do it to keep player satisfaction up on a surface level, but it also makes the game less deep in the long run
regardless, it's a bit amusing to see people complaining about an offense-heavy game, considering overly defensive fighting games (or archetypes) is what I loathe
it's interesting, I remember seeing the pre-release streams where they mention the word, "Aggression" 15 times or whatever hahah
https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2025/04/tekken-8-reveals-emergency-patches-as-player-backlash-spirals-out-of-control
This appears to have a summary
I always find myself gravitating towards rushdown characters in fighting games
I tend to just pick someone who looks cool, but I'm not good enough to actually play fighting games so it's kinda a moot point
Please keep Rule 2 in mind while discussing this.
people have been waiting for changes for the fundamental systems of the game to reduce the amount of 50/50 situations and the sheer advantage you get from heat(meter) and stuff like chip damage, they did not deliver even after the game has been out for over a year now
every character being more unified in balance because of the games heavy focus on 50/50 instead of diversity in cast and characters actually having strengths and weaknesses, the whole cast feels near identical to eachother because of the games reliance of one aspect of combat, which, again,is 50/50s so in this case the game """"being balanced"""" is not a good thing its just a result of huge power creep and assimilation
now to explain why 50/50s being so prevelant is bad
tekken is a 3d fighter, you can move forward, backward and to either side, and thats usually a huge part of defensive play, unlike in other games you can choose which way to get out of a situation or which one is more optimal and that adds complexity to the game and its a major part of tekken's identity and if you remove that 1.you get much less skill expression and gameplay variety 2.you literally are not playing tekken anymore, youre playing a 2d fighter, and youre left with no way to get out of the situation, your only option is to either duck or standing block, which is a pure coin flip guess
people have been complaining about that since release so opinions of people have definitely been clear since the very beginning and loud, yet they doubled down, they released another 50/50 heavy character and added extra moves to existing characters that encourage even more 50/50 play, and to rub salt on the wound, the promised "defensive changes" for season 2 ended up actually encouraging aggressive play even more and thats on top of the game having nerfed defensive play since release compared to the previous entry(where people had next to no complaints in that aspect in tekken 7 btw)
another thing is their current monetization model, they charge for characters and stages seperately, and they also have paid cosmetics in a 70$ game
sorry if its difficult to read cuz im kinda ass at writing that kinda stuff and apart from in class,im punctuationally challenged
only positive reviews made are either negative reviews jokingly marked as positive,or new players who have played <20h of the game
Thanks for the full explanation
what does "50/50" mean here?
That's really weird, how did they think this was a good direction lol
A mix up, so like, your first attack hits, and then you have two choices for second attack, which can go Low or High,
Each requires a different defencive choice
but it's 50/50
you have to guess which one your opponent is going for
when you only have 2 defensive options and you cant in any reasonable way know which one to use in that situation, making it a pure forced coin flip guess
fighting games typically work on a rock-paper-scissors basis
oh
yeah I guess this is a "you'd have to play these games to get it" because I was kinda under the impression the whole genre is based on guessing what the other guy is about to do to you
Smash is the most obvious example (attack/shield/grab), you can look at it like Pokémon types with one being strong and one being weak against the others
majority of it is gameknowledge, and tekken specifically gives you extra option to get out of situations usually if you know what youre doing, and since thats the point of tekken removing that ability is a huge deal
50/50s are perfectly fine and expected, but if they are too common, it removes skill expression
Like, some 50/50s are nice, and if there's some work to do to get an advantageous 50/50 that's neat!
But if all interactions are 50/50 might as well be playing spin the wheel right?
It's good imo if you see your opponent go into a particular combo, and know to hold high, or have the knowledge that the 4th kick can be side stepped.
if all that legacy knowledge is useless because all the characters feel the same and everyone is doing 50/50 moves on offence then I imagine that feels pretty bad
another thing that makes the 50/50s worse in tekken 8 specifically is that some attacks are huge and deal almost a full combo worth of damage
where are these manufactured
The switch 2?
yeah
Japan.
Some if the chips are made in Japan but it looks like most of the assembly is done in veitnam
Like with most things, thanks to globalisation, bits of their consoles are made everywhere
if they're assembled in vietnam they'd be charged with 46% on everything then right?
that makes me wonder if they're considering raising the price
Yep
I think they have plants in a few more places
But all of them just got hit with these tarrifs
It is very difficult to say something
Yep

This only affects Americans tho
Wait are we predicting a price increase after they just announced it
Factors outside their control
yeah, new tariffs just hit
It is very difficult to say something
iiuc all Nintendo announced so far is there will be a delay while they figure out wtf the tariffs mean for them
so did I!
I think it's the sane tarrifs
yeah its just denying the antecedent
Eventually we will defeat the final boss
well, if they are "the same" tariffs, then what happened last Wednesday is we finally got concrete numbers announced
Probably
Either way, blame the orange man
It is very difficult to keep my filter on
sighs
it will affect everyone that trades with the US though
I'm gonna go work I guess
Without going rule 2, there's a certain tit-for-tat thing going on and more keep getting introduced/increased.
The switch delays only affect America
oh i thought you meant in general
I'm getting conflicting claims on whether the $449.99 figure for the Switch 2's US price is including their tariff expectations, or needs revision after these announcements
What you're talking about is a whole can of rule 2
it might have been what they expected at that time but now they have to go back
yeah i should probably leave it's too risky for me to stay in here lol
I think what's going on is the US price was based on US expected tariffs, and what's actually breaking news is concrete tariff numbers and a delay to the US Switch 2 pre-order date, so the pre-order delay is almost certainly a response to the new tariff details
however "The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged."
Resellers are eh, but that's a different thing
oh christ
Wow, apparently I could buy a base model Steam Deck for $130 cheaper than a Switch 2
The Steam Deck is versatile
Tbh I'd rather a Steam Deck
refurb Steam Deck is a great option if money is tight
Also is more repair friendly as you can buy spare parts.
one of these things it's not like the others...
They're out of stock for refurbished currently
so im wanting to play Kingdom Hearts, and 1.5 and 2.5 are on Steam, but i know KH is pretty complex and has it's story spread out through a ton of different games. does 1.5 and 2.5 have the relevant story beats so i wont be confused ?
1.5+2.5 have KH1 Final Mix, KH Re:Chain of Memories, KH2 Final Mix, 385/2 days in cutscenes instead of the full original game, Birth By Sleep Final Mix, and KH Re:Coded in cutscenes instead of either of the two original versions of the game.
The only things missing would be the ones from 2.8 collection which are Dream Drop Distance, the cinematic of Kingdom Hearts Cross Back Cover, and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep 0.2 A Fragmentary Passage which is the prequel leading up and basically the prologue to KH3
so cool!
odd tank
I'm super happy to move away from having to use one single word processor
Might want to post it in #science-and-tech too
Yes, that collection has all you need for the first several games of the story. Just be sure to start with 1, CoM, and 2 in that order and you’re good. (it’s after 2 that they start doing prequels and side stories)
oh right, I clicked the wrong channel.
https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2025/04/everything-to-grab-from-prime-gaming-april-4th-edition-for-steam-deck-linux/
just a reminder, if you have Prime Gaming, you can claim Mafia II and III on GOG right now. (The first game's definitive edition could also be claimed in the past, which means you could get the entire trilogy for free)
amazing
Trails has great chest gags
Gonna make some better shots tomorrow
I think i have another Pinkie livery in my garage
beta art is peak
Why is this not a rare card?
I can't remember how you get this card, but yeah, it should be rare.
love it
i should return to StS but i've been tired of not winning a game regardless of my strategy
Yeah, when I started playing Slay the Spire I was already pretty good at strategy games and I kept losing run after run
Eventually I did become more consistent
I like how he looks less proud
The one where he's not scarred still has smugness
Head held up high, spine straight
starts game callled MAFIA II
first mission is fucking call of duty
Oh, the sicily prologue!
Fun history trivia:
The Mafia in Italy actually helped US Soldiers in the war efforts
The United States government collaborated with the Italian Mafia during World War II and afterwards on several occasions.

See: operation husky
i was poking fun, the game seems fun so far but i can't true focus on it because i'm hanging with a friend
Takes place in sicily, and that's were mafia ii first mission took place in.. Sicily
So it's 100% related
plus like, nothing like a war thing to teach you how to commit crimes
Have you played mafia I or is II your first?
Mafia II is my first because of Amazon Gaming, is there anything from the first I need to know, or can i skip it?
Just a major character death
That takes place in II
You won't be as sad as i was when said death happens
oh...
i was gonna play some amogus or jackbox with some friends in another server if anyone is interested
i just noticed in the prologue/first chapter of Mafia 2 you have M1 Garand
ping me if anyone is interested, ill need to invite you to another server
Normal vs Simulation Driving - Mafia II #shorts #youtubeshorts #shortsvideo
This video illustrates the difference between normal and simulation driving in Mafia II.
Normal vs Simulation Driving Mode:-
° Simulation mode makes the driving more realistic.
° Normal is arcade driving.
° ...
Very interesting how Mafia II has realistic car driving
i am a mature adult
congrats!
New Orleans TAKE THE NIGHT!
Let's gooo, I've not played HADES 2 but any of the big bosses are tough cookies,
Nice work
||Hecate? ||
hey, no spoilers
I keep forgetting this game is technically not out
yeah, I'm waiting for it to be done before I pick it up. I don't want any big runs to be "meaningless" in the sense that the content isn't there for it
"ill buy hades 2 when its out" 👶
"ill buy hades 2 when its out" 🧑🦰
"ill buy hades 2 when its out" 👴
"ill buy hades 2 when its out" 🪦
To be fair what I'm referring to is the very first boss of the game just because I don't know what 'surface side boss' means so not a big spoiler but I guess people would still consider the first boss to be a spoiler
I didn't finish the game either myself I got only ~5 hours on it
gonna yoink it from solar's library when im back in lithuania probs,i only played it on like the first early access build
No, also she's not the first surface boss either
Nah, this ain't Silksong
I guess I don't know what surface means in this context but maybe I don't wanna know just yet
nah its a universal highly regarded indie hit sequel classic
Hades 1 was in early access for 1, 1.5 years? I think it's been about 1.5 for hades 2
slime rancher 2,deltarune,silksong,hades 2
Not really a big spoiler. In hades 1, you left the underworld to head to the surface. In hades 2, you start by heading towards the underworld (won't spoil why), and can unlock going to the surface as well
And they each have their own multiple zones and bosses
(currently surface side is SO GODDAMN HARD)
really hoping they either rework some of the weapons or add ones from hades 1
When did you last play? I think in uuuh late Jan or Feb they added a new big patch that tweaked weapons and added the last part of the surface area
(and it's extremely unlikely they'll add hades 1 weapons)
m-my shield though
myself i played only earliest build but i have went over the patch with solar when it released,p sure the issues i have with the weapons are still there
they are pretty fundamental, general issues so i cant say im expecting for them to fix them but maybe some chance they might to some degree since it is still EA
I think the ||fist weapon omega attack|| might get some tweaks. I think they changed the Axe's omega special to the ||fist omega attack|| so there's been some individual hefty changes, but it does admittedly depend on what issues you have with some weapons
Oh I'm guessing that's the door that's always locked when I go to check it out at the main hub
||my main issues are with twin blades and axe, both weapons i feel like lack variety and it feels forced to chase for specific things, for example backstabs on twin blades, both weapons in general lack flow and imo dont fit the gameplay style of hades very well||
im mostly speaking off of feel, its p hard to point out the specifics with words and narrow them down to specific aspects of the game, they just do not feel right
not sure bout other weapons since i havent really played them or had any interest in them
||I can see that with the axe - even with different boons or the different aspects of the axe, the variations don't really change too much. However with the twin blades, the aspects absolutely change things quite a bit. Aspect of artemis makes it more focused on specials (place the cast circle, and the specials/omega specials all home in on the enemies in the cast), and the third one has a parry gameplay aspect to it..||
The ||fist weapon is really damn fun||
actually dont think ive tried it yet
They added ||ares|| in the last content patch if you missed and his boons are pretty good. I think it's worth trying it out again - but the surface is definitely significantly harder (especially zone 3 and 4) than underworld, so it might be good to try things out with underworld first

better go bingo than go postal
https://www.theverge.com/news/644457/nintendo-switch-2-joy-con-controller-hall-effect-joystick-drift
Welp, I guess the drift might still remain.
hmm, I guess I'll have to wait and see, if we get drift again it should be fairly noticible like it was with switch 1
https://www.theverge.com/news/644516/legend-of-zelda-switch-2-upgrade-price
“For somebody who has bought Tears of the Kingdom or Breath of the Wild, the upgrade packs for those are $9.99. And if you happen to be a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack member, both of the Zelda upgrade packs are inclusive within that membership.”
I assume USD for this pricing
but that's a lot better than I was expecting
Oh, nice! It's included with the membership. Yeah I expected to dish out $20usd. I figured I never really got in to TotK so now's a good time
of note, that's specifically the more pricy Expansion Pack membership
but yes
I've not gotten into TotK much either
so I might just play it now in the leadup to Switch 2 coming out, as I'm still unsure whether to Pick up the new console
id wait for a month or 5 tbh, the demand is gonna be high, driving the high price up farther
yeahh, that's probably wise, but I guess I'm worried about missing the boat on the online play window with friends hahah. Is it FOMO if the fear can be realised?
Yes
Missing out on some things is fine
If you're worried, you can agree with your close friends on how long to delay
now that there are far more online multiplayer games than any single human could fully play, there's no point "fearing" it that much; "missing out" on something is guaranteed no matter what we do
the dimension we actually can optimize is how much of our free time is spent having fun
I don't quite follow, I can have fun on my own all I want, but there's usually fairly limited windows in which
a) a release is popular with my friend group, and thus
b) they are willing to schedule time to play together whether online or in person.
Flitters suggestion to work with my friends to delay our potential purchase is a sound one and I won't know till I try.
if that makes sense?
LMAO
So in Mafia II you can actually rob the gun store if you kill the owner
I got $400 and I got away scot free
yeah when there's a specific group willing to coordinate this makes perfect sense
nods I'm hoping I can interest them in Kirby Airiders when it comes out, but that depends on it being good and interesting etc. I've no real info on it just yet.
in the mean time, I'll send out some messages about delaying a month or three and see what the response is and where people are at.
im interested in the Switch 2 but due to how expensive it is (not even mentioning how it could get even more expensive due to rule 2 reasons) and i just got my steam deck, idk if im gonna get it immediately
yeah fair enough
It is rather expensive, and my area doesn't even have those particular R2 reasons
How's the Steam Deck been to use Captain?
great ! i love it very much
fuck you i'mma load ALL THE CRATES
Heyyy a game I played
HAHAHHAHA
I LOADED SIX BOXES AND HE'S LIKE "NAH"
which tbf
i did rob a gun store for over $400 like not ten minutes ago, so fair.
bro was literally trying to phase through the stairs.
"This one don't want to do manual labor."
"What the fuck!?!?"
mostly New Vegas lately
where ur at in the game
uhhh right now im doing Old World Blues

i love New Vegas
I'm really glad I read this title. I loved Faceball 2000. It was one of my favorite games. I look forward to watching this.
the journey is insane
when I realize I'll never have time to play Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing: 😢
that has multiplayer!?
any game is multiplayer if you make it into a Twitch Plays ... 😛
Me watching a Balatro (unseeded!!) challenge run: ok how much do we need to beat this
what the fuck
[jump cut]
Just playing the hand took 7 minutes
And that’s at 4x, if you had this on 1x this would take 28 fucking minutes to score holy
where can i install cheats for balatro
That’s just called using jokers

Kain : There's a third option, a monumental secret hidden in your very presence here. But it's a secret you have to discover for yourself. Unearth your destiny, Raziel. It's all laid out for you here.
Raziel : You said it yourself, Kain... there are only two recipes in your kitchen, pudding or pie.
Kain : Apparently so, but suppose you mix the bowl enough times... suppose one day, you bake a cake instead.

"I found your spoon in my baking pan, Kain, how could you profane a feast by sampling it before the meal transpires?!"
"How could I not? One must keep his guests' taste close, and his sous chef's, even closer."
these comments are just too funny
the best part is you don't even need to have played the games to get the joke here
if a non-player ever wonders why LoK dialogue has the particular reputation that it does, this video is a perfect answer
(admittedly these comments' follow-up jokes are a bit more specific)
if the switch 2 has joycon drift Nintendo is a complete failure
I expect any other part of the system to falter before those joysticks, that should have been their #1 priority once the class action lawsuits started coming in
I don't think I've ever had drift
My pro controller has drift even tho I was told that pro controllers can't drift

That sucks
Yeah, it's not severe, but still annoying
It's mild enough that it wasn't much of an issue when I used the pro controller to play Detroit Become Human
If it has an analog stick it can drift
Dumb question, can other controllers drift or is it just the switch ones
If it has an analog stick it can drift
Doesn't even have to be a video game controller
Damn
Hall effect sticks can drift too
Multi stick drifting
I never experienced drift or other mechanical failures on my Switch, although I've probably only used it for a "mere" few hundred hours
Huh, there's a persona 3 reloaded demo now
I had it once
An original a-cappella arrangement of Spear of Justice from Undertale! Exactly nine years ago I was recording songs from this game; plenty of them too. I realized that this year marks Undertale's 10 year anniversary, so I felt it's time to dive back into a song I really like from this game.
Undertale's such a unique game that popped up out of ...
Someone post it in the Undertale thread or something

same, mine had drift out of the box
also lots of snapback, but every controller has it... (why isn't snapback mitigation a standard feature at the firmware level?)
theres only one controller i never had snapback issues with and that was the razer wolverine ultimate
still believe its the best controller of all time part from being wired only

What are you guys most played games by hours? This is my steam round up
hmm, I'm not sure i want to look at my most played games by hours hahah
Here's my list https://i.imgur.com/p7gBPQa.png
I've looked it up before, and aside from the games I mod and/or randomize enough to rack up hundreds of hours (Outer Wilds, Hollow Knight, Ender Lilies, Nine Sols, Tunic?), it's mostly ones that take a long time to do "one playthrough" of, like Witcher 2 & 3
top 6
New Vegas: 135.9 hours
RDR2: 130.8 hours
Spider-Man: 43.5 hours
Control: 37.5 hours
Elden Ring: 31.2 hours
Doom Eternal: 29.7 hours
what the fuck i havent played Doom Eternal since Feb 18
that's gotta be a record for me
The world has many very good games, so it's nice that you haven't played the same one in a while even if it's great
in brawlhalla I have the Jack of All Trades achievement but not Welcome to Brawlhalla!
a lot of my gaming is outside of Steam. My most played games on the Switch are Tears of the Kingdom (320hr), Breath of the Wild (280hr), and Splatoon 2 (210hr). My most played game is Minecraft (8,700hr) which dwarfs everything
Fellow ToS enjoyer
if town of salem 1 had a playtime counter I'd be very scared to find out its value
It should have one?
outside of steam i got like fortnite hours in the thousands and a lot more in apex, paladins, monster hunter rise, and terraria
I use the web browser version unfortunately
oooh I'd love to see how many games that is worth
Didn't end up playing ToS2 as much so I only have 80 in it
just checked, I have 1496 games in ToS1 (no ranked, mainly all any)
Uuh does it show in-game? I can download it to tell you if it does
yeah
oh damnnnn :O
526 wins and most are also on all any
and you have all 361 achivements??!
oh, through private games right
Have you ever heard of SaM?
Ah well it's "Steam achievement manager"
Steam Achievement Manager. It allows you to pretend that you got the achievements
You can add achievements to games even if you haven't done them
ah lol
Steam doesn't care if you got them legitimately, it just checks for the achievement signals
So you can add or remove achievements however you like
I did it way back for some steam sale where you got points if you did a lot of game achievements
This is super convenient for speedrunners who want to do 100% achievement runs
Since you can reset after you end your run and do it again
I still have around half of them legit though
yeah I think I would rather my Perfect Games list be empty than these two
will look into it, thanks!
I think I did make Changed private while I was playing it lmao
If you're embarrassed for others to see that you own or have played a game, right click it in your library and hide it for good
Or just add awaria to them
awaria is in my playing category but I can't get past one of the levels on hardest difficulty
I refuse to even try a lower difficulty since hardest one is all I know
Yeah that's how I completed the game to begin with too
also thanks for checking your stats! if the amount of time per game were roughly the same for both of us then that means I'd have about 800 hours
Seems right
Yeah I would imagine that is true
which is double any of my other games. Except for Minecraft which has 10x more than ToS
just makes me curious about all the other untrackable games
how do you check how many hours you have in MC?
I've played a fair bit of Mario Kart Wii in my time
the hard way: github code to scan the log files that are recorded every time you open the game

so if you played on a laptop and you don't have access to its files anymore then you can't track the hours on that
best i can do is look at the ingame statistics and see how much ive spent on the ponycraft server
yeah for 99% of people it's not a feasible thing lol
Way too much for both of us
But I'd guess even more for you
I'm lucky that the three laptops I've played minecraft on since logging was added to the game in 1.7 are all functional enough to transfer files from
another thing you can do with log files is read old server chat logs!
I'm actually making a Changeling version of my oc for my mc skin
nice nice, ty
...I realize I only have 2 games I have over 1000 hours on
1000 hours is a HUGE amount do not worry
I have like 1.7k on tf2 but compared to others with 10k+ it's almost nothing
one is a game I haven't played on over a year, and the other's a mobile game
I have played ~550 combined hours of the two zelda games on switch and I feel so familiar with the world and characters
oh nice, is the second one battle cats?
my most played on the Switch™ is Mario Maker 2 at around 480 hours
niiice
oh I didn't even think about checking my switch, one sec
but consider that 10k hours is over a year of game time
that's a pretty ridiculous amount, so doesn't matter if 1.7k is nothing compared to it
fuck it's dead

I'll harbor a guess that my most played switch game is smash bros ultimate, ranging anywhere from 800-900 hours
online matches I presume
no
Dang, this is an obscure reference.
I like, never play online
oh dang
I didn't have anyone IRL to play with and the online connection sucked so I just did the story mode and mostly stopped
I just labbed the shit outta characters when the pandemic hit
So much Civ V but no Civ VI?
I used a couple text manipulation tools to put every log into a giant .txt file that I could search for keywords. Turns out I had already played some games of Capture the Flag with one of my online friends several years before we met
also for privacy enjoyers out there this means you shouldn't spill your darkest secrets to the minecraft server chat (obviously) because the messages will be forever stored on the PCs of everyone ingame
My most played…actually Skyrim should be in number two, right ahead of Elite Dangerous, if you correctly add up the two versions. That would make Crusader Kings III visible.
It’s actually really funny because I haven’t actually played any of the games here except Imperator: Rome in ages
Ooooooh this will be VERY helpful! Thanks!
No worries! I'm done changeling-fying my oc too
some of my most played
I may be living in the past just a bit...
aren't we all?
what how are you in the future thats not fair
I finished Black Mesa in 2020, restarted it last year with definitive edition but didn't finish it
UTC+3
I'm sad it lacks TAA, it's kind of a noisy mess even at 4K... you can force MSAA in the driver, but it's slow and can break things. It also doesn't work on everything anyway
original Half-Life is way less visually noisy, and you can force 16× MSAA and great a great image
I haven't felt like replaying any HLs, still haven't touched Black Mesa
I played a bunch of multiplayer when the 25th anniversary update came out
it was great fun to play on 32-player servers with 3 teams and at least 15 players using the skeleton model
soon youll be looking like this
HA Hey I play PC games from the 90's I played as a kid all the time. I only ever owned an NES, then Sega CD before I juast did PC builds so I go back and play stuff from then pretty often
Speaking of old pc games, I really wanna play Chip's Challenge again.
oh lmao it's free on steam
all of Oddworld? I'd buy that for a dollar! https://www.fanatical.com/en/bundle/oddworld-complete-collection

I'm so happy that there's big nerds with a lot of time in their hands that can dump so much time into analyzing these types of things out there because when I was playing this game I thought they had just scaled the entire map a couple sizes and didn't even put together that roughly the entire map of ALTTP/ALBW including its previous borders is actually all still there, they just brought down the borders and walls and carved new paths to access areas of the kingdom that weren't accessible before
or that they even took into account the map of Zelda 1 to create the new area where the Zoras live in
makes me appreciate this game even more
Yo what's that game??? Enlisted?
Oh it issss
Havent played in a while
I started playing after badger uploaded a vid about it
I LOVE MY PPSH-41!!!
Feels like the MG42 but just slightly weaker but more maneuverable
I like the vg2 and mannlicher
For the soviet tt,,
Mosin carbine
I also have a favourite soldier...
Julius Ancans in a recon regiment
Mines a guy called Fyodor Shapolav (if i remember correctly), he's the squad leader of the first infantry squad i got in the battle of moscow
Helmetless
Snipers get his ass
But he is a sniper
Mind you, I'm very skilled
Also, contrary to popular belief, helmets were made for shrapnel during ww2, not head protection against bullet
They aren't bulletproof
Yeah, i do remember the times when I crawled up 4 stories to the top of a cathedral to snipe people in their spawns
Helmets did not help em
Ay fuckin' oh?
It could go on a better discount than that
Yeah and the DLC isn't discounted either
Dave the Diver is the NieR of indie games (it has crossovers with fucking everything)
actually wait
That's Dead Cells
Isn't it made by Nexon?
ah, it is owned by Nexon, you're right
fucking vertical corpo bullshit
Nestle moment
you mean the new dlc that's already dirt cheap 💀
Dave the Diver is notable for looking indie, but not being indie
they are literally punching below their weight
the DLC costs half as much as the full game
Weak...
I frontline snipe
which games does Dead Cells have a crossover with?
it's been a while since i played, i know they have a Castlevania DLC and a lot of references
What does this mean exactly, I don't know anything about Nexon
I heard of that game, yeah
they also made Counter-Strike Online, a F2P spin-off exclusively for the Korean market
they are pretty big on F2P with aggressive monetization, often being or bordering on pay-to-win
which is also why they're not well-liked in the western market
I've been trying to play the DMC games, but they're so difficult and I'm not sure I'll be able to finish any of them. I really like them tho
It's frustrating cuz I really like them, and want to finish all of them, but I suck at the game
yep, that's me every time I play a spectacle fighter or soulslike or non-easy metroidvania
I was able to get through Elden Ring, but DMC is just a different kind of difficult
I'm just not very good with chaining combos together
if you didn't tell me Dave the Diver was a Korean developed game I would have gotten the idea from the opening credits

oh yeah i had a lot fo fun with dave the diver
i should finish it tbh
it got me into balatro lol
having done the first day, this is like Mystia's Izakaya!
but with less cute bird girls

YOOO DOOMSCROLL FEATURE
oke this game is now peak again

thanks game, very cool
20% of people either never let dave get that low, or always let him die I guess
Or stop playing the game
the dlc is brand new? the game is not
the game is expected to go on sale, the dlc is like a third of the game's actual price
if you're going to complain about the dlc, complain about how it's limited time 💀
so there won't be a chance for sales probably
It's been six years
wait what
That's cool, though Katana Zero is a game i never played because it's so hardcore in terms of topics it deals with
I should just keep playing DMC till I (hopefully) eventually beat it
good luck! and there's probably guides out there if you want some extra tips?
I mean not if you're not enjoying it, I would never recommend someone play through DMC, or Dark Souls, or any other similar type of game known for its difficulty if they're hating the experience
It's just gonna be a miserable experience all the way and it's not really gonna make you appreciate the games properly
I do enjoy the games, they're just difficult
speaking of DMC though I have gone back to it, for totally no reason in particular, and since I beat these games so many times already I thought I'd shake things up a bit and install the DDMK mod (basically a mod that adds various different options, tools and fixes to the games, as well as basically being a mod manager of sorts)
and I gotta say, it's not much, especially since DMC1 is the grandfather of the entire genre so it is pretty limited, but doing things like quick switching weapons and guns just breathes so much new life into this game
one of these days I should probably try DMC3 (3's supposed to the best one, right?) considering I bounced hard off 1, but loved other spectacle fighters like Metal Gear Rising and Bayonetta
the only bad part is the gun switching is quite janky, if you switch guns in the middle of any firing animation while any gun particles are going off, the game WILL crash, and since animation cancelling is such a big part of DMC combat, it's very hard to train your muscle memory not to do it, and it does limit what you can do even more, but at least the weapons work really well, even if again they're quite limited
just for fun I also tried starting DMC3 even though my objective now is DMC1, and I gotta say even though all my weapons are not maxed out and I don't even have all my moves, it feels so good, I could never go back to playing this without style switching and only 2 weapons at all times, I just don't think I could
Ironically enough, DMC1 is the one that was made by the same dude who did Bayonetta, not Rising though, but Rising was his team so kind of, so you can think of DMC1 as early Bayonetta in a way
If we're talking purely gameplay, DMC5 is probably the peak of the franchise in my eyes and the peak of this genre in general, what this team achieved with DMC5 is just insane
DMC3 is 'the best one' in terms of a full package, it has great art direction, great levels, memorable cast of characters, great story, great soundtrack, great gameplay, loads of replayability, it just kinda has it all
The level in this clip is where I'm at in DMC1
I mean that's kinda about halfway through the game and the game is at most like, 7 hours
But like I said, if you're just stressing through a game I don't recommend doing it, if it's just hard well then yeah, these games are hard, some people are into the challenge and push through and some people just get stressed and upset and for those people I don't recommend going through with a game because you're just having a bad time for no reason
I do enjoy it, some of my problem with DMC1 is the controles tbh
(repost) I have an extra key for Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, DM me if interested
Ngl Nelo Angelo's second fight is kinda easy
That underwater segment was dogshit
The underwater segment is indeed dogshit but it's only the one area and it's mostly just weird
DMC2 has entire water levels that are arguably worse even though they're in third person just because they make you fight more enemies and even bosses underwater and that just doesn't work
Oh god
If you do decide to tackle DMC2 afterwards, although I wouldn't blame you if you didn't, I highly recommend installing the Definitive Edition modification
The full version of Devil May Cry 2: Definitive Edition is now available.

If you're playing on PC that is anyways
DMC2 vanilla is a very mind numbingly boring experience, this mod is more of a bandaid fix on a game that is quite simply put a complete mess, but it's a pretty good bandaid fix and it's a nice showcase of the passion and love people have for these games that they even attempted to fix this at all
Unfortunately I am playing them on Xbox
That is very unfortunate
I bought the game before i had a pc

A game called "star stable" about horses is being targetted by the European Commission for predatory microtransaction methods, since it's a game very much oriented towards a younger audience but is filled with FOMO and such.
Some pundits are saying that since it's the EU commission, this could have wide-ranging effects. (Such as how the EU enforced USB-C in EU and the rest of the world followed suit, this could slow down or potentially stop microtransactions in EU if they enforce it that way - which would have big repercussions industry-wide)
Horse armor introduced microtransactions, horse armor might take it out again
Interesting, one can only hope lol
probably be pretty damaging for a lot of the games industry
I'd link Bellular's video about it since it's the first I saw about it, but y'all fuckers complain every time I post a vid of his 😛
Are the complaints about the videos presentation or something?
Clickbait thumbnails, mostly. Which is true, but it's also the youtube 'meta' unfortunately, so the complaints get old. Valid complaints, but they were heard ten million times ago 😛
he is pretty clickbaity
I'm not disagreeing. But as I understand it from a bunch of youtubers who have talked about how youtube works, the clickbait works and since viewer numbers often translate pretty directly to monetary gain, I can't really blame them for doing it
Anyway, here's the vid, goes into more detail. Interesting watch, thumbnail aside https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCkUUm0zDLY
Predatory monetization is finally catching up with them.

@rancid herald Take 2, GTA online's endless money
ah
I really need to watch this show
Give him callsign shrek
too expensive
One of my favorite parts about the show is the one-off lines answering questions the audience is bound to have.
"How does no one get hit?"
"You just dodge the shells."
"OK."
"Why don't shells actually penetrate the cabins and fuck people up?"
"Non-lethal shells that simulate penetration and carbon lining."
"OK."
There is no further expanding on this. That's the asnwer. Live with it.

free on prime (x are older ones, I just took PC versions and don't have xbox but they're still cluttering the page)
In other news, S+ rank cars in NFS Unbound are fucking rockets. They have brakes, but it's hard for even the AI to use it. I was in a race earlier, and the AI in first at the time somehow wall-runs like, three train cars (a train goes by in the beginning of the race that you have to either dodge around or jump over using a nearby ramp), then fucking launches right off the track off the train, then somehow disappears, even with everyone else still in the race. I just kept glancing up to see how far away the guy was and the last check before the race ended (I won) was 4,000+ yds.
Is this Nishizumi-Ryu?
i'm a little bit late but i think DMC5 is the best DMC
in terms of movement, aesthetic, the kinds of weapons and just how cool it is to chain combos. it might be my favorite because it was the first DMC i tried but it was the first hack n slash that made me feel powerful and swag
also, V was a very cool character
Eh, aesthetics in DMC5 are kind of mid, it's the first time we get to explore an urban area since DMC2 but after the really cool city segments it's all Qliphoth and it's easily the game's biggest weakness
Every other game is vastly more varied in terms of aesthetics and areas compared to 5
That's why I said DMC5 is the best one purely talking about gameplay, but as a full package DMC3 is still considered the best one
6th balatro win!
i managed to get a bunch of jokers that buffed straights and the card that let me skip cards in straights
and i was playing the magic deck, and got the planet for straights early, fooled it and just had a bunch of great mults going
i created this video to educate the community and spread awareness. this video is NOT intended to:
(1) put a target on slash / create more hate
(2) have pc checking spread like wildfire and start witch hunts
(3) encourage cheating in any way
please watch the entire video to get my full message. and leave all involved parties alone, at the end ...
Man this video hurts to watch
You can hear the heartbreak in real time in Froxxy (the team captain)’s voice as he watches the PC checker go through Slash’s downloads history
They’re not native English speakers but you can tell the sense of betrayal as he finds out his friend and teammate of 4 years was cheating in a competitive league
Not only that but he’s just fucked over his entire team’s future
Imagine sticking your neck out to protect your friend and teammate only to find out they were lying to your face the entire time
Oh god I realized that the Slash guy had literally downloaded the cheats on the day of the tournament, which is why he was so sloppy

finally got around to replaying Sly Cooper 🙂
PCSX2 got a lot of niceties recently, including a "true 32-bit color" mode that increases color precision as much as possible, and of course HD texture packs. There are built-in widescreen/no-interlacing patches too, and the one for Sly Cooper also disables the built-in motion blur (which doesn't look great since it's just reusing old frames)
oh and...
I want to play Sly Cooper eventually
I should replay the trilogy at some point
pretty sure I played 1 and 2 multiple times and 3 once when they were new
same, I remember playing the multiplayer mode in 3 with my brother
RPCS3 can also run the PS3 ports, but the PS2 version seems to be a better bet for emulating it
also, props to PCSX2 for having this in the options menu so I no longer need to edit configuration files to do it 😛
(I opened a PR for it last year, it was rejected, someone else did it a few months later and it was accepted)
I'm surprised that so many games I've tried on PCSX2 have mostly bug free widescreen and aspect ratio patches
almost always activated by default too
I tried Fatal Frame/Project Zero the other day just to check it out really quick and I'm pretty sure it was already activated, Silent Hill 4 too
Haunting Ground had one too, the biggest 'problem' with them is just stretched out menus but that's mostly fine, I haven't tried activating any achievements on any game I played though
yeah, the cheat database got many updates over the years, no-interlace patches are fairly new
you can enable options in PCSX2 to enable widescreen/no-interlace patches by default and they're allowed in hardcore more
Dolphin also allows certain cheats to work with hardcore mode since the beginning of the year for similar reasons
I believe 60 FPS mods are still off-limits for hardcore mode though, at least currently
and yeah, most widescreen patches will have stretched UI as they don't squish UI elements to compensate. It's possible but pretty difficult and time-consuming to do
Sly has a WIP cheat for widescreen with non-stretched UI, which makes ultrawide and even superwide more viable
Yeeeeeeah I would imagine doing something like actually messing around with any UI elements to make them fit widescreen would be just too complicated for any or most games to actually have, honestly I can handle a bit of an ugly slightly stretched UI, it's honestly not that bad or noticeable really
at least PCSX2 has an option to force a different aspect ratio for FMVs, so it can switch back to 4:3 during prerecorded video playback. (DuckStation has a similar option)
haha, I did it on the third try

more of a 12.3 fan than 15.5 but damn does it look smooth
Oh hey, deep rock galactic survivor finally has a 1.0 release date (september)
Hmmm...does anybody know how to solve this?
Currently testing Minecraft on my new PC and this is what happens when I open it.
Sometimes the space is bigger
I also can't move it around.
Can you click on video settings and screenshot what you see
Everything is normal. Fullscreen is on borderless.
Hmmm...just tried it again and the issue fixed itself. Hopefully that was just a glitch since it's the first few times it's opened the game.
Ah, well

Ok but who's best 2hu girl ??
do you mean the window showing without a border?
it's strange, never seen it before
I guess it was a graphical glitch that eventually fixed itself. Third time was the charm.
I know that the UI can be large or small, like that screenshot showed
I forgot where exactly that setting can be adjusted at
Mystia
...I can run Minecraft at 120+ FPS with shaders. 300+ without.
That's 3 to 4 times the performance I was getting with my laptop.
Intel you beautiful bastards, the B580 is wonderful!
"ERROR, I was not programmed to simp."
...I don't remember this in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
The computer is silly
I can't tell if it's because the line was modified or it was that way in the original and frankly i want to keep the mystery alive
I do think the peach scenes are all a net negative to the game
i think i prefered the peach scenes in he first game, but i enjyed them in ttyd
in ttyd she's really operating at the whim of a computer but original shes genuinely sneaking around and helping mario
they are too slow
yeah especially with the remake slowing things down
I just want to go back to being Mario
i like the bowser segments
Yeah cause they aren't slow

BOTW for Switch 2 will cost $70 base and does not include previous DLC. It's $20 extra.
In slightly better news, if you already have BOTW for Switch 1 the upgrade to the Swtich 2 version is only $10... but you still need to pay for the DLC.
So $90 for people who want the full Switch 2 BOTW experience if you are not already an owner, $10-30 for existing BOTW owners depending on if you already have the DLC or not

that's, really weird on the DLC front, but I guess at least the upgrade is 10$ and not a worse case
The opposite of discounts
yeahh
#EnderMagnolia: @random steppe got 'im 3rd try
This looks really cool, a bit excited ngl.
Is this going to be free to play, or will you have to buy it? Do we know yet?
I think its 40 dollars.
I've been hearing people say it'll be 40USD, but is there any source on that? I've not seen any announcement of price or something
Alas, the alpha access is limited to NA fans so there's little point in me signing up to their discord
It does kinda suck that while the game looks fun, a lot of people are trashing it because Concord.
And that its an extraction shooter.
I mean, I get the second half of that haha. A lot of folks liked the original marathon, seeing it's sequel become an extraction shooter must be strange
most i've seen is people saying bungie used the term "premium"
Aye, it's a different game and that's ok. Same thing that happend to PREY really
people have been speculating it's around the $40 point, anything more and it's guaranteed to flop, especially with bungie's reputation atm lol
yeahhh, and bungie does a pretty full on style of moneitsation
i feel like it kinda has to be free to succeed at this point
Battlepasses and MTX for weeks I'd bet.
How much is Hunt:Showdown?
That's a pretty well liked extraction shooter
though with very very different theming
$30
ahh ok. So around that price point would be competitive.
Though as some youtubers are pointing out, Idk if Destiny fans will like the Season Wipes and loot loss of Marathon
I mean Destiny costed initially and folks bought it no issue, Destiny 2 also had similar thing and same thing occured. Not sure why Marathon is an exception.
nah, I don't mean the price being a detractor, i mean the gameplay loop
I mean as long as I'm not fighting bullet sponges, I think its gonna be good.
Destiny had a lot of that.
Aye, We'll just have to wait and see for like an Open Beta or something, if they do one
because it was a proper game at first, and then they loaded it with microtransactions and ruined the onboarding experience and took out half the game
it's only an exception in that bungie has ruined their reputation and people will be really hesitant to buy in
It's more of i'd be wary to buy it because i'm not completely sure if I would enjoy the gameplay loop or not
Didn't it have no proper ending and teased the season pass?
That's a good point Nahvec haha
Welp, if folks are gonna be like this... then its a guarantee flop.
So many comments already trashing the game.
Also this, yeah
destiny?
Yeah, the first one at least.
I remember the ending not really being anything good or worthwhile.
Destiny 2 was a bit of a shitshow (Blizzard, then Independent, then Sony)
d1 didn't have a season pass, it was just a nothingburger of a story because they were forced to rewrite it last minute
the expansions weren't that much better, but they improved greatly in places like writing
it definitely never hit the highs of halo during d1, but the campaign wasn't that big of a focus with the format of the game
d2 dropped, and they fumbled HARD that first year, in some weird balancing change for pvp they forced you to have two primary ammo weapons, and they made everything that was special ammo in d1(shotguns, snipers, etc) into HEAVY ammo weapons
I guess what I'm seeing is that the hardcore fans want just another single player story game with some optional multiplayer, yet I think that would die faster after people play it fairly quick.
Not that I support MTX hell, I just am more concern with how the fanbase and the company are orienting themselves. I just see lot of folks wanting a single player story game, while Bungie wants a service game. Feels like there won't be any compromises since both sides are literally opposites.
so you had shotguns competing with rocket launchers and stuff in the pve part of the game, just to balance the pvp
I mean, that's any online game. Even Fortnite has balancing issues.
and all the weapons were static rolls, so there was no loot chase
I do remember loot sucking in Destiny.
so yeah, probably the only thing I would get concerned.
But considering extraction shooters are all about finding loot and not buying it, I think the MTX will be more about revives and time consumables.
what is an extraction shooter
Have you played Escape from Tarkov, or Hunt Showdown captain mario?
no
it was worse before, if you got a weapon from the endgame raid, it would be the EXACT SAME as any other copy of that weapon, everyone had the same guns
I can explain it, but it'll be a bit wordy
In a extraction shooter, you and your team go into a map with other player teams also joining at the same time.
In the map are various kinds of NPC enemies, loot, and gear you can try to hunt, find, or steal off of other players by killing them.
You and your team try to get as much valuable stuff as you dare, then try to extract from the map without getting killed first.
It's a push your luck kind of game. "What gear do I bring in, how much loot do i try to scavenge, do i hunt other teams"
etc
Pretty much, Skill is still a huge factor in how you are gonna win... and AI bs.
AI is probably gonna be the thing players will complain, I know Tarkov players complain about Scavs.
well, certainly not from me lol
I've played all the Halo campaigns multiple times, but never tried either Destiny since I know I don't like any multiplayer stuff; even Bungie shooting can't change that
Good thing you can play Solo at least. phew.
also going into d2 they slowed down the ability regen a MASSIVE amount to put more focus on the guns(that they already screwed up) so it just didn't feel great to play, and there was very little reason to keep playing after a while
with forsaken, they fixed pretty much every remaining problem and put out like, an expansion and a half of content in one go, and then introduced the seasonal model (but at the time it was basically marketed as permanent content)
but then shadowkeep dropped with a TON of lazy reused d1 content, plus a lackluster season, and their new seasonal model had them delete all the content IMMEDIATELY after the season ended
later on with the beyond light year, they made it so seasons stick around until the next expansion drops, but at the same time they kinda removed the vast majority of the game's content, including every last trace of the seasonal stuff from forsaken
which included like, 5 raids
and multiple campaigns
Still, I'm willing to try this game since there is no extraction shooter I've been interested in besides Tarkov. But Tarkov is PC only so I can't really play on console.
im only going to try it if i get in the alpha or if its free on launch
The removal stuff does remind me a bit of how Valve removed TF2 'beta' space maps.
Although they only did that once... unsure about Dota or CS2 now that I think about it. Is Danger Zone playable in CS2 or is that gone?
not sure!
Lookin at Google shows that it was removed.
Fanbase seems cool about it because they never really cared to begin with, but its still content that got removed.
Freaking Fortnite does this and I don't like it. The FOMO aspect is terrible.
with destiny it hurt the game really deeply by taking out any proper starting point in the story, they just throw you in the deep end after the intro (nowadays there are at least two free campaigns at least, but they're in the middle of the whole storyline)
Yeah, Destiny 2 really throws you into a very random position.
Honestly I think Bungie just wants to shutdown Destiny and focus on Marathon.
i see
Which is sad, like it shouldn't be like that.
Just release a proper update that restores all the content.
Maybe as a last patch idk.
which you might think, "well that's not a big deal!" but there's just too much going on, the game forces you into new seasonal missions out of order on startup even for new players, and people just can't get invested in the story
so they end up bouncing off of it
That is exactly what happened to me, so I know its a big deal.
You can't just shove a player into a story and expect them to follow through it.
that would be nice, but at this point they've added and removed so much seasonal content
They have it archived I'm sure of it.
sure, but they basically build modes as disposable
Well, lets hope Marathon doesn't exactly follow that trend.
it all feels the same every season, and there's too much of it to really make it work as one package
It wouldn't be my first rodeo into these kinds of blunders, I just hope it doesn't become another Concord.
(Not that I bought Concord)
the more I hear about these games the more baffled I am that anyone is still giving these things money
I mean TF2 is literally the definition of 'game that refuses to die' even though the studio tried killing it multiple times and gave up.
marathon's format as an extraction shooter should make it a little more streamlined, but it's almost certainly gonna have problems with the story/lore not all being available ingame for those that want it
I mean, I'm baffled we still are buying licenses instead of owning our games but what can you do other than complain and watch the industry never learn?
i adore tf2 but i havent played it in a while
Like seriously, Sony wants all the live service games, Microsoft is trying to shove AI and Copilot on their games and who knows what other terrors, Nintendo is extremely greedy and abusive, and then you have Valve which moves at a turtle's pace.
Like, there is no choice other than to not buy or keep playing old games over and over.
There's indies for sure, but you also can't rely on that all the time for every genre.
I did kinda luck out in disliking basically all the genres that "indies can't do"
so in my case I actually can rely on that
does the "not owning our games" comment include most Steam games?
I mean, the ones that can't run without DRM.
There are obviously a few that are DRM free.
cool, then the ownership thing is another issue that doesn't personally bother me, partly because most people play most games once (and often not even that) so the harm is pretty low in practice, and partly because there's way worse stuff going on
like, if I ever somehow had the power to influence any of these issues, I'd probably focus on curtailing all the predatory monetization schemes
I'm more of a "games are art and therefore should be preserved" kind of thing, which is why I rarely play live service games. But on occassion if a game interests me, I do play it.
So even if I don't support the thing I hate, I know others will. I know that's a fallacy but its kinda hard seeing how the industry refuses to learn, so I just hope one day they realize it.
I guess I'm just more accepting since I just want to enjoy life.
yeah, preservation and live service is an interesting conundrum, but since there is a genuine fundamental conflict there I don't feel there's a big moral issue with it
for the most part I'm happy on the preservation front as long as emulation remains tacitly allowed for all de facto abandonware
Yeah, which is why Nintendo needs to take a backseat lmao.
I hope Switch emulation returns at full capacity soon...

well, in the specific case of Switch emulation, I think the blame for the current situation has more to do with the emulator developers who were flagrantly encouraging mass piracy of brand new games using their emulator
though Nintendo certainly overextended in a few places
They absolutely ruined the entire scene because of their greed.
it's gone
they removed remnants of it (like bump mines and the gamemode configuration itself) recently
our only chance to see it again is Classic Offensive, which was shown to have fully functional DZ
interestingly enough, there are starting to be some fully PVE extraction games, the more notable is Witchfire which is in Early Access currently
Well it's not quite an extraction game since you don't lose the gear you are carrying if you die
Just the loot you would have gotten should you have extracted
But there is the element of having to reach the exit with your loot
Witchfire is pretty good BTW
Is this a recent call of duty game or something?
On the PvE only extraction shooters. Road to Vostok is another one that looks promising in development by 1 Lead dev with contracted work assisting it.
It is pretty generic mil-sim themed, but I'm hoping it's fun when it hits early access sometime
Arena breakout!
Ah neat, I saw ads for it but never gave it a shot, good job gettin gout with a lot of stuff
I know Arena Breakout Infinite is coming to PC at some point, but Idk what it's quality will be like.
wait, what controversy?
Haven't tried, I like AB
huh, isn't AB and ABI made by the same folks?
Different devs same publisher
that's... so weird
It isn't tbh
It's what Gaijin did with WTM and WT
WTM has different devs than WT
It's so much pressure to have to work on both a mobile game (with arguably low expectations because.. Mobile) and a pc game that is almost onpar with EFT
It's just the name attached, with no idea if the games will follow similar designs in the first
hey look, if ABI does a better sound system than EFT, that might get a lot of players
EFT is notorious for breaking their sound system
ABI has better sound, funny enough
cutie

Apparently Misprint in Balatro actually shows you the top card in your deck and absolutely nobody noticed for a solid 7 months
That means the first card you draw will be a 9 of hearts
This is some evil shit
Wait what game is that from
Whuh
Is it cheating if it's built in
#manechat brought up Nietzsche, so I was fact-checking myself on a few things before making further comments, and when I saw this passage:
What is good? Everything that heightens the feeling of power in man, the will to power, power itself.
What is bad? Everything that is born of weakness.
What is happiness? The feeling that power is growing, that resistance is overcome.
I thought "Nietzsche would enjoy Soulslikes"
We're so lucky he died before 4Chan
The last bit for sure,
That said, soulslike do kind of like to put you in a state of weakness compared to what you fight against so maybe he'd be more into powerfantasies
i'm so good at stelth
That's a good game
ye i never really played past the first few missions so i decided to start fresh
Hmm. I dunno if I wanna go non-lethal or not.
I cut the guy's head off... nonlethally
AFAIK the general consensus is that a "high chaos" playthrough is mostly easier but offers more variety, and there's no benefit to a "mixed" playthrough, so which is better for your first playthrough largely comes down to personal preference
High chaos is wanton murder, right?
personally I did low chaos, since I like my stealth to be a bit challenging, and I don't have the kind of creativity that the lethal toolbox (and actual sandbox games like Minecraft) benefit from
mostly yes
it was definitely known. My teenager told me about it a couple weeks after Balatro released.
this is one of the reasons i dont like dishonoured 1
the game expressly states that being a murderous psychopath is bad, yet you literally cant unequip your sword
ever
and the non-lethal options available to you is limited to the crossbow and walking up behind people
i hear 2 has more options but eh
you know it's not just about killing people
it's about sending a message
throws corpse into sewer

wow i never even got past the sewers
lmao
throws single canister of whale oil
YOU HAVE RUINED EVERYTHING
Whale oil be fucked
"Is he dangerous?"
"No, he's here to wo-"
okay so you can throw as many glasses as you want at people, but one crossbow bolt is an instatap
gotcha
Man, Dishonored
I was so obsessed with this game years ago, like proper obsessed with it, I never got around to playing the sequel because my computer couldn't handle it, I got it on sale with the dlc a while ago so it's sitting in my library now
I'll get around to it at some point
The funny thing about Dishonored is the DLCs are almost always better than the main game gameplay wise
I have yet to play Dishonored
same for Deathloop, Arx Fatalis, Dark Messiah...
forgive me, Arkane Lyon 😢
To be fair, there are a few more options than that, with certain powers, for full stealth I mean, and even in a low chaos playthrough you can kill quite a few people and still get the low chaos ending
It's not a Metal gear solid situation that if you get seen once by one guy you don't get the best rating
Making 95% of you arsenal completely useless if you are going full stealth
In my first playthgouh I probably did kill north of 50 people, maybe ever over 100, and still got the low chaos ending
you do have more stealth options, yeah, but nonlethal options is limited to some crossbow bolts and knocking people out with your hand
i know that stealth is supposed t be harder than murderhobo, but it just isnt very fun when, again, you literally cannot unequip your sword
its always there, giving you the option of murder, preventing you from using somehting esle instead
Oh you mean in that hand, eh, I never really had that problem...probably because I played a hybrid style, I never felt like my sword was something I would have never used
Also stealth options are nonlethal options in many cases.
Walking past enemies is surprisingly viable in Dishonored
(even tho, occasionally, you do have to hack a tesla coil and fry half a dozen dudes because it's funny)
still
ill stick with hitman:woa
Not saying you are wrong, to be clear, the game is more restricitive if you want a low chaos ending, but it's not quite as restrictive as its reputation implies.
You can still use the lethal tools, you just have to use them a lot less
The best part of the game is still the world building and the lore.
Man I love Dunwall
i think there's a bone charm nearby
oh this is DLC stuff
explains why i have 7 slots when the game said 3
Is it?
looked it up and one of them (Void Channel) is DLC
Void Channel is a bone charm which first appeared as part of the Arcane Assassin Pack DLC for Dishonored.
Oh ok.
intersting, I forgot about those small content packages
In my mind I rolled them with the game
Since the game has proper expansions basically
With new areas and more story
ahh, the extra bone charm slots were items i picked up, neato
I'm gonna save my runes for Shadow thingy so I don't have to worry about bodies
Oh right, the ||heart|| is a neat thing.
||You can use it to get lore for people and places by poiting it at them and pressing the button||
oh yeah the heart, i should use that more (i do not care about lore)
IIRC it was surprisingly worthwhile to check everything with it, especially people
plus, a good litmus test for "did you get the lore" is ||if you ever realized who The Heart is
||
HAHAHHAHA
I killed two birds with one stone by tossing a whale oil tank at some guards
Wall of Light gone
Two dead guards
yeah you might be a high chaos player
I'm the type who always wants to find the hidden alternate route around the wall
man this game's UI design is still so good
Dishonored 2 as well, they have such good art direction
I should probably replay Dishonored 1 if I ever wanna jump into 2 though... it's been so long since I played it and I remember vaguely what happens but, I'm sure I probably would need a refresher, I was super into this back in like... 2017
which 2 minutes ago, I would've said was like what, 4 years ago or something, but apparently that was almost a decade ago and I don't like the way that feels
Once again I have to say, playing through this game with DDMK is a treat, the ability to change weapons and guns on the fly is just so important for this series finally being able to do it in the first game just adds so much, even if again the options are still limited in comparison to what comes after
I have to say though after playing DMC5 on a completed savefile for so many years now I really forgot how late you get most of your arsenal in these games, I'm pretty much near the end and I barely have most of my moves, I don't even have air hike yet (double jump) although that one is famously the most expensive upgrade to get in all the games
