Tales of Berseria: I forgot how much Magilou reminds me of Trixie. Both magicians who insist on being stage magicians in a world with actual magic, both haughty and full of themselves. Only difference is Magilou is much more powerful than she lets on, so when she boasts, she's not just blowing smoke.
Also Magilou is likeable

Magilou: Comments on how Velvet's outfit is just a bunch of scraps of clothes
Also Magilou: My skirt is books
She's right though
Velvet's outfit is stupid. Please just fix it up
You are literally in town. The tailor will do it for free
Hot
It must also be noted how awesome of a job Erica Lindbeck did with Magilou's voice. Her dialogue is downright hilarious
Oh I only played the game with Japanese voices
I've always played Tales games with English voices given the option. My first was Vesperia that didn't have a JP voice option but the English voice acting, translation, and dialogue has been very good in every game I've played since then so I'm kind of attached now.
Like this battle line in Arise (maybe loud video). I don't know if they do the same in Japanese, but this game goes out of its way to explain how important incantations are for magic so it's extra funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uET9ANIsaYg
If her casting speed is high enough, Rinwell just skips the incantation
If you get Rinwell casting fast enough, in addition to that like she'll also just say "Blah blah blah".
Though the only way you can do that is loading her up with accessories that lower casting time.
playing GTAV and Franklin's hound is so cute

it's canon tho /hj Franklin was tryna get Chop away from another male dog

New Steam feature: If an early access game doesn't get updates in a while they'll tell you
oh thats genuinely awesome
Ironically, the game featured in this screenshot is still getting updated, just not on the stable branch
crowdfunded UE4 games from 2017 in shambles
kingdom come deliverance II has been officially out for one (1) day, and its already got one million copies sold. thats crazy for a czech game
I really need to go back to the first one and actually finish it, two seems actually insanely good
i just finished re-playthrough today, i juuuuust missed it by day
so now its downloadin n tomorrow i shall begin II proper
hope yall are ready to only see me durin work breaks and ffxiv raid nights bc otherwise i am gone
lol
(in more serious tone you dont really need to play kcd I to my knowledge, they recap all the important story bits for ya and you do have to be somewhat forgivin to eurojank happenin in I. if textures arent randomly disappearin and your dog isnt suddenly half his polygons, is it even fun
)
I mean I have no rush, these big games always need a few patches to really come into their own, so I can finish Ender Magnolia, Metaphor, and then start KCD1 and work my way up to two.
I avoid ff14 because I'll like it.
thats a good assumption! it is a cult
a cult that makes you cry a lot and you enjoy it
I'm happy over in the Disco Elysium cult anyway
Right now I'm still so hard in the honeymoon period for Ender Magnoglia that it's actually hard to unstick myself from it to come and raid
might play more of that later
I have so many things half-finished now every evening is a tough choice
(deleted user is gummy dont worry about that)
i rlly need to figure out a better way to do screenshots on this new phone the "slap three fingers and press" is so annoying
we like the cult of big fat tacos

"You can't just ask people that!"
Idk, if I was asked that I'd be intrigued.
see, thats what im used to, but there is no button option in my top menu, like at all. i know you can reconfigure them, but its just not there!
how annoying
Power + Volume Down? That's what it is on my phone at least
Maybe after I retire
like... i got obsessed with New World. Do you really think I have a chance with a game that's actually good?
ok but when do you retire
I was about to guess 2050

Huge Sims sale on Steam right now
along with the release of Sims 1 and Sims 2
Careful though, I heard Sims 2 has very bad issues
Thank you EA for not selling it in my country
And Sims 1 too.
Would definitely wait until more patches come out before buying any of these for sure
I still have the originals
It's only been a few days so far but a day or two ago a lot of people were complaining about how basically any of the issues you would have with any of the older versions of these games you'd definitely still have
Whether or not they're gonna work on that and release more patches I don't know obviously but for now I'd probably just wait and see first
The rumors were true! EA re-released the first two Sims games for Windows PCs to mark the 25th birthday of the series. And they even fixed them to work on modern PCs! Kinda. Sorta. Ehh, an attempt was made. Still, I'm happy to see these exist on Steam and whatnot, so let's dive in and take a closer look at The Sims Legacy Collections from 2025!
...
Clint put out his review of 1 and 2
''Sims 1 & 2 completely expanded[...] and being sold for 40 dollars when bundled together, which is the price of a Sims 4 expansion pack''
wow
That's just what aging and alcoholism does to a man
didnt lose the hair though
Probably the only ~40 something year old man that can make that hairstyle work
FInished Borderlands 2... Again.
(Borderlands 2) ||I didn't even let Jack finish his fucking monologue because i accidentally domed him with my shotgun mid speech thinking "Oh he's still talking, I'll just finish off this clip so I can refill afterwards"||

now i'll actually try to finish the DLC at... some point.
SOLD.
Have you played the first one?

i don't have it on PC and
it aged.
Game is still good though the bounties were fun

I think that will come a bit after launch
meanwhile i'm gonna play the new Necrodancer
Yeah, understandable, but there's plenty of roguelikes out there already, arguably too many at this point.
Ooooh flitter is now a vehicle in destiny 2
Do you get to drive it or just look at it?

Nice
I seen someone saying it’s based on the tron bike. I can see it in the middle

@graceful bridge
omg
Just because you can does not mean you should
We're getting this scene remastered, gaming has been saved
have any of you guys played Ori and the Blind Forest ? it looks very pretty and ive heard it's good but just wanna know what you guys think
Ixrec's probably your guy for that
Yeah
I'm not the biggest fan of platformers? Which I guess this is (or metroidvanias?). But it and #2 are pretty good, apart from one action sequence in each if I recall which were frustrating~
Registered for the playtest of Anno 117, Ave!
yes, Ori 1 and 2 are some of the best metroidvanias, especially for someone less familiar with the genre
For the most part 1 and 2 share the same strengths and weaknesses (stupidly pretty, relatively easy/forgiving, simple but heartfelt story, etc). The biggest difference is that 2 has much more involved combat; part of what makes 1 a nice genre intro is that "only" the platforming and occasionally navigation get challenging.
played both 1 and 2,1 is great absolutely no complaints about it,for 2 might wanna finish it relatively quickly cuz if you take a break its difficult to pick back up in some parts
you know, at least she's honest about it.
(i don't want to kill her tho :c )
unlike CERTAIN FUCKING PEOPLE
she didn't kill my main in Borderlands 1
oh coooool a local shop has a lil kcd II showcase. the first picture sucked ass so i wont be postin it but they also have this kickass wooden emblem/shield with the shall we call it catchphrase of the game
gonna ping @hasty patio for that
honestly after next paycheck ill check if internet shop has it cheaper or not but i feel like gettin a shirt of some kind
I am almost at the end of Ender Magnolia, amazing game, I feel like I broke a couple jumping puzzles with sorta glitches at some point but apart from that it was an incredibly polished experience, Early Access really paid off
I think I'll do some more Magnolia myself after I do this last thing for the AP game
I will probably replay lilies after I finish this one
Also I kinda want to do a reread of all the lore text I found to see if I have a good grasp of the story before actually doing the last bit, it's definitely a bit more complicated than lilies in that regard
FM 2025 cancelled after repeated delays and the like.
Also, Green Hell is F2P for the weekend, along with a deep sale (67%; give or take your local currency).
@random steppe streaming Magnolia
I will put you in the background but I won't be able to speak as I am commuting
That's so strange to read, I wonder if they really want to fix the game or if management decided for them.
Feels like management made the call to stop, but I do feel that they were given the chances to make it happen. If it wasn't for a expected release later this year (2026), another delay or so would have probably happened.

yeah, I heard 3 is moving to specalists instead of chosing your own loadout
any thoughts on that ? it feels like it's just there to sell more characters/skins, but idk
its hard to tell without playing
but 2 had more MTX than im comfortable with already, tho it was restricted to skins if i recall
ah right, that's good to know
the artstyle isn't my thing, though it does remind me in a good way of Quake 4's Strogg
i loved KF1 and 2, tho its 6 player lobby size makes it hard to get a good team together
hard enough to get 4 players for helldivers
right, and relying on matchmaking is very hit or miss
indeed
Killing Floor is a funny game to me because my only memory of it and the only experience I ever had with it was sneakily booting it up to play it back when we shared a computer in my house and being traumatized by it because everything from the grimey visuals to the zombie noises freaked me out
oof, understandable
I remember on summer break from my sophmore to junior year all did was watch anime and play killing floor 1 and team fortress 2 for nearly a month
best summer
🐍 ❗
the bigger the circle is the more accurate, right?
any more than this and the shrapnel will start flying backwards
PlayStation is currently down.
Does that mean you can't play your games or just that you can't use the social network or does it mean something else?
Finished it, banger of a game, actual masterpiece, no notes
what kinda game is it? heard it mentioned here a bunch of times but never actually seen anything about it
Just play online you can use games that don’t need a connection
It's a 2d metroidvania with very anime aesthetic
The first one was more medieval inspired, this one goes a bit more into industrial sci-fi
whats the first game called? sounds like an interesting experience

Both great games
looking at screenshots it looks very nice visually
ehhhhh, seems like a total failure
gonna see if I can play a single player digital game
You should be able to. on Xbox you can’t play games if there’s an outage
OH SHIT IT LOOKS REAL INTERESTING
really digging how the combat is done in the trailer
theres a way to set up your library so you can play games without a connection
The gimmick in both games is that you are the girl, but summon "spirits" that attack in your stead
yeah i love that kinda shit, might have to try it out if i dont get caught up in other stuff
wait what
Xbox needs internet?
wow
Uhh, so my PS5 can connect to the network.
PSN is up for me.
my main in rabbit and steel is ancient, which is p much same thing your character and the main attacking summon are different entities
same with pom in tfh and a bunch of other games
Or unless they changed it. Because the original Xbox one made it so you had to always have a connection.
Oh that never happened.
The first one is an amazing game, the 2nd one is somehow ever better.
They tightened out the combat and how responsive it feels, the maps are larger and more intricate, etc...but the 1st one 100% stands the test of time
no way thats true cuz i played throughout 2017-2020 majority of the time without internet
They had to halt that, unless you are using game pass.
PlayStation is still down for me
Oh it’s only if you are game sharing I think. And yeah store is working of course it is
hell yeah def gonna check them out then
how about navigation since its a metroidvania? i tend to get lost and stall progression a lot in metroidvanias
Now that I finished Magnolia I'm definitely gonna replay Lilies
The map is very good in both
They do the thing where the zone gets marked once you found everything
any backup things like an objective indicator or a map in case i do get lost? ori so far seemed to be the most straight forward with that
Objective indicators are pretty rare, but it's easy to notice where you didn't find everything so you know where to look at least
Like if you are stuck you basically go to the zones you didn't complete and knock them out one by one until you find the next leg of the story
sounds managable
Magnolia is a bit better since the map is more detailed and you have custom markers to remind you of zones, but lilies is still not that bad...I tend to get lost in 2d maps way more than 3d maps but I was able to find my way around
just got the game, controls on keyboard are...quite something, had to change p much everythign
holy shit the character designs are insane, the protag, the first spirit, the first boss are all insane
the environment looks really nice too
killed the dark witch, thats it for my session for now time to sleep
love the game so far
Awesome, also yeah if you can swing a controller it makes the experience a lot less traumatic, but if you are adept to keyboard you can probably make it work
PlayStation is still down.
sounds like me ngl
One thing I do like about Borderlands 2 is that you can make a "boosted" character that starts at level 30.
The intent was definitely to let people experience the Commander Lilith DLC without having to start a fresh save or use an OP character...
But since the other DLC scales to level 30 as well, you can make a boosted character, ignore Commander Lilith and do the DLC as a "fresh" character. (One of BL2's biggest problems was how slow the start felt, given you need to get to level 5 to even get your first skill point and before then you're just running and shooting.)
Plus, starting at level 30 gives you a decent amount of stat points to play with, meaning you can go all in on one tree, or spread out to make a more all rounder type build.
This isn't even mentioning the fact the game dumps you at the last base game story mission, meaning you can do the last mission, finish the game and start over in True Vault Hunter Mode (The base game but the enemies scale from level 30 to 50ish) giving a more dynamic and fresh playthrough if you're so inclined...
Holy shit I just made a wall, didn't I?
I mean, it was interesting reading
I didn't know BL2 had a boosted start
I've tried playing a few t imes, but i always just drop it after like, a few hours. Idk why it doesn't quite grab me, maybe because I'm playing mostly in singleplayer
Yeah as I said, it was part of the Commander Lilith DLC that links directly to Borderlands 3. It was free for a time when it first dropped.
People are thinking it was a DDOS but I think it was a breach
@graceful bridge it’s coming to VR https://2kgam.es/4jQ1YzZ

Hey, I don't think Tiny Tina's a bad character.
(i think i prefer her in 3 tho)
kinda forget that BL1/2 have kind of a sparse side-character cast.
I suppose having the playable characters from 2 in 3 helps (even if most of them are in DLC, I don't mind that.)
oh and Pre-Sequel too. Though I think like, all but two are dead by 3... Oh my god I totally skipped that western area Nisha is in, huh. But yeah by 3 like 4 of the characters are dead or otherwise fucked off into retirement... or are Claptrap
tho makes sense, most of them are villains in 2, given Pre-Sequel is like, a prequel to 2 and you see Jack before he becomes Handsome and all. I'm rambling, the point is that Borderlands has a lack of side characters up until 3. (Hell even Moxxi was from a DLC before becoming a regular side character in 2.)
doesnt she have her own spin-off game too
Yep. Haven't played it yet tho.
I recommend linking to the official page
https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/marketing/advertising
hmm are there a lot of games using those advertisements in-game atm? I su ppose either way this should hopefully cut down on some of it.
right right
Crystal Project dev makes a short list of good mods to start with
(well, mostly good. Don't play Apotheosis)
such a gorgeous scene
wait i didnt realise that was the end of the game what
are there alternative endings? the screen after really seemed like it was implying that
yes
what are the unlock conditions for them? not exactly sure where to go from there
You ate this game up real fast
that's the... well, you could debate whether it's a "bad" ending or not, but it's very much a "not the whole game" ending
by this point there should be some other parts of the map you haven't explored yet
I'd rather not spoil the exact conditions before you discover them organically (yes, they are properly indicated by in-game lore)
so you're telling me i have to...read 😨
the best ending definitely requires reading
8h playtime, tbf i played it in a couple but long sessions so thats probably what made it a lil faster
the normal ending maybe not so much
still if you actually have no idea where you can go feel free to show us the map
but it should be easy to find the endgame by exploring all the major regions, unless there's a room you thought you couldn't get through that you actually could
ill try to look around cuz i have a general idea where i could have unlocked stuff by triggering this ending, but i have a feeling i wont be able to find what i need on my own
ah i was wrong, the thing i was thinking of was not related to the ending,ig ill just try to explore other rooms i havent been to yet
iirc the precise text you get after Ending A is also a slight hint about where to look harder
is there some major stuff im missing(major areas/abilities)? cuz i still cant even break the red walls
oh yeah that's an important ability
though again we'd have to see how much of the map you've covered to know what to tell you in between "look around more" or <entire walkthrough>
I am probably not super useful for specifics since it's been a long while since I played it
my current progress
Even tho I'm replaying it I still am not at the endings
yeah I've done the randomizer multiple times so I should know this
oh wow you really did take that route
other than Witch's Thicket that's almost an Ending A speedrun

i just went like "oh this looks like it gets me further away from the place im at" "oh i got x technique i can check out the other place that needed it before and seems important"
so from here, there's two directions you can go in with a whole area you should be able to find and do now instead of just a few rooms: 1 is at the top of the map, between hamlet and twin spires, and 2 is east of thicket
that should be vague enough to keep it mostly feeling organic
ty,ill check out the area im at rn and see what i find in those after
these fake looking walls keep getting me,i always try to run into them and am left dissapointed almost each time
a couple things ive learned from metroidvanias
1.always run backwards in the first room at the start of the game
2.run into walls and pray
1 yup
2 soooomewhat, though in the good/modern ones you should always be able to see there's something off about the wall
like how modern Zeldas are pretty good about putting a visible crack on every bombable wall segment
so I usually do literal running into walls only until I've figured out what this game's suspicious wall indicator is
Crystal Project does both in an interesting way
With clever platforming and looking around, you can actually skip the majority of the game
Flashbacks to Super Metroid's solution being ''just make sure to bomb every single wall you find''
I've been developing a route you can do to beat the game by skipping every fight, but so far at least two are mandatory
yeah, Metroid's been through the whole spectrum of obnoxious to great handling of secret walls
these days there's always something unusual about the block even if it's not as obvious as a crack, and you always have power bombs to fall back on
i like how in Dread (maybe it's in previous games too) there's that one power that shows you all the breakable blocks in that screen
and in the Primes you always have the scan visor which ofc makes this a complete non-issue
why do they have to make stuff look so climbable jsutfor it to lead nowhere
yeah Dread basically gives you a 2D scan visor so non-issue there too
2: I know this, on a pragmatic level, but I still lick every wall because as a souls player, I have trust issues
I solved my trust issue by not playing those
No it's fine, I want to have trust issues
Dread was such a magical experience the first time because the entire game was just a bunch of QoL features after the other and going ''oh god, yes, they added this thing into the game'' all the way up until the end of the game
To the point that the only negatives I could ever mention about it is just weak soundtrack and weak visuals/art direction and that's literally it
i wanna love Prime like everybody else but i get so lost so easily in the 3d environment lol
it's interesting how some people find either 2D or 3D dramatically harder than the other
Really depends on the types of games you grow up on I think
I know because I follow a streamer who pretty much played almost exclusively fighting games so whenever he plays anything outside of that especially any FPS it's like a grandpa's first game experience
at our age maybe it does
I ''don't like'' Prime simply because I'm uninterested about turning Metroid into an FPS myself
I just don't see much appeal so I never really cared for it
I definitely have an harder time to commit to memory 2d landmarks than 3d landmarks
Like if I find a tree in a 2d metroidvania, I can't just file "left at the tree" in my brain the same way I do with 3d enviorments
And much of my memory as to where to go is landmark based
it depends on the game for me i feel, even Dread i felt kind of overwhelmed trying to remember all the places i could go after unlocking a new ability
I do think it's worth noting that the appeal of the Primes is largely the same exploration as any 2D metroidvania, and also that while the combat technically is shooting and first-person it's unlike any other FPS I've ever seen because the combat movement is all about locking on and dodge-strafing around the locked enemy
whereas I can look at noelle's screenshots earlier and go "oh yeah she went into the underwater room below Gerrod" for a game I'm not even playing right now
I literally played like 5 hours of that game this afternoon and that map is just ??? for me
Gen and I are talking about Ender Lilies again
Ender lilies, it's great, you should play it
The way I try to sell this, it looks like my uncle made it or something
it's worth noting a lot of modern metroidvanias will either mark obstacles for you, or let the player place markers on the map which are typically used for stuff you'll revisit later
yeah i like that
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown even let you attach screenshots to the map, I loved that
i was also liking how Zero Mission just told me where to go
Ender Lilies is not amazing for reminding you where to come back to, Ender Magnolia however, that's a big upgrade in that regards
Enderman
yeah I'd say maybe half of them will straight-up give you objective markers, it depends a lot on the game's structure
Hollow Knight and Nine Sols are interesting middle grounds where you're mostly meant to explore on your own but at one or two specific points in the narrative they will just give you a map marker
i was playing Hollow Knight last night and got really mad for some reason
ok i think i found my way? found an area that was innaccessible without the wallclimb and it seems to have a bunch of branching paths,so i think im making progress
sounds right, the area I'm thinking of requires claw or [spoiler] to get in either way
doggy :(
now you've all got me in the mood to play more Ender Magnolia
of my favorites, HK is probably the most reliant on the player being willing to explore complex areas with minimal guidance for a large chunk of the game, which is the main reason it wouldn't be my first pick for a not-already-fan of metroidvanias
Which ironically, I'm very picky with Metroidania but it's the one that clicked the most for me
(on the flip side, that's also related to why some genre fans hold it up as one of the most non-linear and are annoyed when all the others are too easy to navigate by comparison)
i like the grubs
everyone likes the grubs until [spoiler]
oh i know about the spoiler
sadly
oh yeah what do levels do in ender lilies? havent really noticed much difference through levelling up
pretty sure it inches up your base attack/defense/etc stats, but I never looked up the detailed numbers
if you don't feel underleveled, then don't worry about it
ok let's magnolia
I looked it up and from what I understand, it's just extra attack
gameplay wise? no,pacing wise? yes, i was using it as a guide expecting it to represent somewhat the point of the game im at but ig i was wrong
It's a nice self balancing mechanism actually, if you die a bunch you end up repeating zones and level up more
ah, I don't think levels are a good progress indicator in any game I've played with levels, because there's so much player variance in how over- or under-leveled they go through the game
in a metroidvania there's usually some notion of "map completion", which I find the most useful for guessing overall progress, but I am also the type to 100% these games if they're any good
i dont mind grinding
legend lvl250 on 2 platforms in dying light,so more than fine with it
I am supposed to be sleeping but I am not sleepy at all and tomorrow is sunday so whatever, I'll peep some magnoglia, even tho I can't turn on the mic at this hour
Yeah that one is tricky
those are rare and well-hidden
I know for a fact that you can get some at the point of the game you are but yeah, they are often a reward for exploration
if you want to try finding a few of them soon-ish, the earliest area you can find any is ||in Catacombs||
ill focus on progressing the endinghs probs, dont particulary feel limited by it,was just worried that i was missing some very obvious shit somewhere
then yeah you're good on that front
they definitely don't want you maxing out Umbral Knight early, I assume the idea is to push you toward trying the other spirits
i just use it as a combo extension this is my current set, switch between them depending on how important i feel stance break is in the situation
interesting, way more range than I usually use
For the replay through I pretty much recreated what my muscle memory got used to in Magnolia
still not sure what to do with these doors
yep that's another thing you get later
A horizontal long range attack/antiair attack depending on the situation on B, a counterattac on Y and a fast or slow attack on X
lol
bruuuuh i got sniped by an enemy that was on screen when i was 1 shot hp
not too big of a deal its like 1 room away from rest spot but just goofy as hell
@slim thorn here is the funny part, that mine is literally the first thing I did once I was given the key...you went through all the rest of that stratum before coming back, it was very interesting to see the playthorugh from that perspective.
and I only realized that just after I warped here
I was also just thinking that Magnolia must be doing the same chapter scaling system as Lilies or this area would be a cakewalk by now
I was literally thinking that
julius fight was really fun, probs my fave in the game so far gameplay wise
same, he's one of the hardest bosses in the game in a good way, in randomizer I'm often choosing where to go based on whether I feel up to him yet
he was a bit difficult yeah though felt the fairest out of the bosses
Damn that was a good hit
#tooreal
You literally beat ||employment into him||
found it by accident
Am I misremembering, didn't you find a totem last session?
I thought so
I noticed it because it follows you around
welp
RIP
The NoMansSky servers aren't responding
Perpetual Connecting... status
I just wanted to claim my Twitch drops
and that's what happens when someone pings me halfway through a boss fight
oh no, is this because of the PSN stuff being down?
ok that was mostly 5 am gaming but I got him
I definitely believe in the scaling as you mentioned
I took some time to kill him as well to be clear, but he was definitely juiced up
In your playthrough I mean
Here is your ||parry, this time it comes in a variety of different effects and a special category of equipment dedicated to it||
i think i just found the 2nd area
thats surely not gonna be tedious at all
you should see it in entrance randomizer
oh my god they brought back ||the rat spawners||
this area is a bitch, made me fall into a randomass hole that appeared out of nwhere and dumped a bunch of enemies on my ass from the sky
The ||rats are the worst enemy in the game||
the best part is I know the exact room you're talking about
rats rats rats and more rats
Should finish this guy someday
I seem to have modeled my Tiger E into a strange hybrid
Anyone know what these are? They don't appear in diagrams
And are absent on later models
Additional mufflers, maybe?
sounds like a question for lazerpig
Oh they're air filters!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_131 apparently it has an article
Yeah I was looking at that
Thought it might have been the fire suppression system added to it in 1990
Tiger 131 is the only tiger in working condition with original parts
Looks damaged
Ohh looks like it seems a bit off because in that 1990 restoration it literally had the engine of a Tiger II installed
Its original engine was removed and cut in half to display it at the Bovington Tank Museum
So it no longer has the one of a kind Tiger 1 engine
ah yes, the 90s were a hotbed of cutaway things
It's for the best, running it for more than 1 minute probably had the maintenance crew on their toes
Also why the museum was hesitant to lend the tank to the movie Fury lol
They were worried the stress on the tank would ruin the engine
It's so delicate and old
Overengineered junk box, still beautiful regardless
It's crazy that there's only one of it
They're famous, but famous for their power rather than their numbers. Only 1357 were built. Because they are so famous people tend to think they were everywhere
Tanks often get misidentified
They were everywhere in that they were deployed to all fronts, but commanders of Wehrmacht divisions preferred to not deploy their Tigers if it wasn't absolutely necessary
a lot of this stuff, unfortunately, tends to get scrapped because no one thinks anyone wants to keep it for historical reasons
Among the millions of Tiger I sightings from GIs only like 90 would be real
Unfortunate end of the E-100
Yeah that too, the fear of encountering a Tiger meant Allied soldiers thought they saw Tigers a lot more than they actually did
(I think Gen hasn't noticed I stopped playing Magnolia
)
Aren't we glad the Russians took everything as war trophies? The British probably would've scrapped the Karl Gerat
Or kubinka tank museum buys alot of tanks
Yeah the British didn't often capture German stuff (Tiger 131 was a special case because it was the equivalent of finding a Lamborghini Countach with its door open, keys in the ignition, and nothing wrong but a chip in the paint).
Wanna see a funny? Here's a funny. A KV-2 on top of an IS-2 hull. I think it moves?
tbf I'm not really talking about tanks but in a more generalized sense
Americans captured stuff to later shoot at it
The crew were probably new
historical buildings, ships, all that stuff
I thought all German crews were instructed to scuttle their tanks
Games that have an option to steal the enemy tank gets an instant 10 in my book
Given the story of how it was knocked out, the inside of that tank must have been loud as hell. When they discovered they coudn't move the turret or see anything in a night battle, I think I'd bail too.
I'm pretty sure tanks are death traps in general
Back then they were. Crew survival was "have the thickest armor and hope the enemy doesn't have a bigger gun."
Nowadays lots of tanks, mostly NATO vehicles, have a priority to keep the crew alive rather than preserve the tank, so there are a lot of safety measures to hopefully keep them alive even if the tank ends up a smoldering wreck.
Maybe, but when was the last time we actually got into a tank fight?
Ukraine
Yesterday
Ukraine is still at war and tanks battle alot there
There's a video of an abrams ammo cook off, blowout panel saved the crew
Tanks are less of an iron coffin than the past
Leopard 2s, Challenger 2s, and M1 Abrams are getting their first taste of combat against the tanks they were actually built to fight against, rather than Cold War relics they can out-spot and out-shoot with zero danger.
(i think the sherman is literally called the iron coffin by its crew)
I had forgotten about them getting modern tanks
The M3 Lee got the nickname "MG-6", or "Mass Grave for 6" due to how awful it was against... anything
The British were also very confused as to why Americans named a tank after the general of the losing side of their civil war and named their version of the same tank (that also had mods like a different gun) the Grant
The Lee was a stopgap to get something stronger than the clearly outclassed light tanks they had onto the battlefield while the Sherman was still in development
British: "why would you name it after the losing side's general?"
America: "Because they suck."
The British was atleast better at making stopgaps
The Firefly probably wasn't but it feels like it is.
Too weak engine? Slap 5 Inline 6 engines together
Too big gun? Put it in sideways
Radio won't fit? Cut a hole in the turret and put it out back
don't know
there's a big thread on the NMS Reddit about it being down
good to know i'm not the only one
Amazing because people cannot play their single player games that require PSN connection to play for some reason
NMS can be single player offline, and it primarily is, since you only run into other players in the Anomaly or if specifically invited to your planet
but i need the servers to be online for the Quicksilver dude in the Anomaly to recognize that I have unclaimed things
and if it is related to the PSN stuff, why the frick is PC unable to connect
PSN is already up
🖕

Dunno who it was but I saw a screenshot here of someone playing balatro with like 17 jokers at some point. Other than skipping a blind, how are you getting so many negative jokers for the extra slots? (still trying to beat red deck here)
the way I did it was, ironically, with a completely different deck over red deck, but if you're looking just to win, play the hand you were given in the shop (hehe poker pun)
you just need to know what the jokers do, and how to play to them in a strategic way to have it snowball to victory
(sorry I'm not the best at explaining things, just know my 17 joker run was because I used anaglyph deck specifically)
i bought the Handsome Collection thingy with Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel
lots of DLC lol
it was like 12 bucks which is neat
I was watching you play a 5am while in bed and under the covers.
Losing consciousness was not only a possibility, it was the fucking plan.
well we can't end a metroidvania without some navigational challenge now can we
Apparently PCSX2 stopped being bad and nobody told me
It uses QT for interface, it got rid of plugins, merging the best of them into the software itself, and cleaned up house in a big way
gtk, the retroarch PCSX2 core has been infamously out of date for a while now, so this might be the rare case where it's better to use the standalone emu next time I want to play a PS2 game
I only looked up the dev blog to see if they had performance improvements since I last used it
I want to give
https://github.com/evilwb/APRac2 a try but my CPU was not up to snuff last time I played Ratchet and Clank
PCSX2 is in a really good state now, even its macOS version on Rosetta is generally better than the native-but-defunct AetherSX2
well then, time to go for the hundreth loop around the elevator
it's mitigated by having 4(?) respites all around it, so you should never have to do a full loop more than once
figured it out, turns out all i needed was sleep
classic
the boss was a bit easier than it looked, the last phase was scary as hell on the first couple attempts
yay i can open doors now
not sure what to do now,the slopes in ||abyss|| dont seem to be climbable and i need to get around somehow
hm, did you finish Stockade?
Not sure whats that?
oh
ok then I think you're missing a boss in an "earlier" area who has the last ability you need to finish abyss
(or if you want to play by randomizer logic, I think you can get over that specific bump by exploiting ||spirits like Guardian Silva and Verboten Champion giving you significant vertical movement, and Incompetent Sinner giving horizontal||)
I did find another area next to spire i think do ill check that out as well after lethal company session
Ehhh, there are still some slow downs that aether doesn't show.
Still pissed that a bunch of android users harassed the dev.
I finished Little Kitty Big City!! 🐱
How was it compared to Stray?
I haven't played Stray yet
I did notice the new interface and the lack of plugins when I downloaded it to play Haunting Ground and MGS3 recently
I think back when I last used it it still had those plugin windows for changing your controls or any graphical options
The biggest change I noticed was the ''in-game'' menuing, which is how I ended up figuring out how to make mouse mapping aiming work for MGS3
I don't really know how to explain it so here's what it looks like
I remember PPSSPP actually had this type of menu too, though this one seems to have a lot more options for what you can do that you can tinker around with
When I was trying to get the mouse mapping to work by just clicking on the emulator windows and trying to enable mouse mapping and doing the inputs it never worked until I pressed esc to bring up that menu, load up the controller setup, and it worked
worked much faster for doing savestates too, I like being able to actually see the savestates like that rather than a list where I have to make sure I read the time correctly unless I load up/overwrite the wrong save
Is this what PCSX2 looks like now? This looks like the Retroarch menu
That's the 'in-game' menu you bring up by pressing ESC, I think it's basically all the options the regular emulator window has, maybe even more
The regular window looks actually pretty similar to a lot of other emulators right now
Reminds me a lot of Dolphin
omg omg omg
https://reddit.com/comments/1hsnop0
finally free from its 15 FPS jail 🙂
thanks
Castlevania has... enemy design.
"why the heck am i struggling to pull off a combo in kcd II on the trainer, im not THAT bad at the game. oh. oooooh my mouse deteriorated and is not registerin some inputs. oh okay thatll do it"
so i guess im goin shoppin tomorrow
it did last like, four years so i guessss that isnt too horrible given i lug it around in my bag twice a week
spare keys as in, those funky side ones?
oh wow thats a lot
I have them set up to page up, page down, home and end, middle click
A fast autoclick macro
you could have a whole full row of ffxiv hotbar there
i havent used a mouse with side buttons yet. i think at most id try out one of those two side button ones
but honestly my criteria lies elsewhere so thats not somethin im all that set on
That's reasonable
we´ll see what ill find in town. i know i want wireless powered by AA battery because thats my preferred mouse kind, otherwise ill probably just pick by price
I do love the idea of a wireless rechargable mouse, but my bluetooth dongle sucks so I'd have to pick up a good one if I'm to ever use one of those
One of my first mice was a logitech with two batteries and a charinging port, which ejected the battery with a spring, so you felt like you were reloading an energy weapon or somethingh while you were doing the swap
It was an odd system for sure, I don't think I've seen it in any other mouse
I should amend, one my first gaming mice, before I just used the classic 10 bucks mouse
g u n
Highly recommend razer viper mini, its small and pretty nice for the price(40€ a few years back, may be cheaperr now)

how did you get more than 15000 gems?
I played a bunch this afternoon but I'm not quite there yet
There's actually 20000 gems in the base game, since there's a bonus level with an extra 5000 gems. However, the 2 gems here was because of a bug, so Ix is gonna have 20002 gems at the end.
anyway, I'm officially done with the Spyro trilogy now
97%?
wasn't feeling the speedway bonuses
just got the hook cuz i cant fall asleep...it never even hit me until now that there were hookable points anywhere in the game

i read the fucking controls tab multiple times even and just didnt fucking process that somehow
If only the zone it was from wasn't a pain in the ass
Hook autoaim sucks
seems fine so far
im either fucking stupid or i dont have enough health to get past this
NAH IM ACTUALLY BLIND
i did not see the fucking hook points in the main ||abyss|| entrance
i thought it was like a triple jump requirement or maybe an upgrade to the wall climb that allows to go up slopes
hooooly shit
this boss really lets the claws shine finally
managed to get through, just had to optimise the relics
ah, thank you for the recommendation but also absolutely not
im not tryin to get a gamin mouse at this time, more so the, how did gen put it, "classic" cheapass mouse
or at least, cheap one that meets that battery requirement
we'll see what the store has
ah fair enough, thats outside of my specialty then, but if you do ever want a smaller decent mouse in general would def recomend it
the mouse i have is the one that came with my laptop
maxed out umbral knight
aaand got all the stone tablet fragments, now time to see what happens with that
oh..
done
im assuming i fully completed the game considering i have the ng+ option now
it was great, def playing the 2nd game immediately
i did not realise the 2nd game released this recently,im surprised there was a crack for it
jfc remapping controls is a pain in this one
Whoo, grats with the Lilies completion
me playing Sleeping Dogs:
"... This is fun. But now I want to play Yakuza."
I'm not even saying that to be insensitive, having done the combat tutorial, it's like Squenix wanted to make a Yakuza game.
Ooooh. You’ll love it HC it also has karaoke
Did you get it for a good price?
i've had it since 2020 and never played it
Ah. The dlc is good as well
damn you really did blitz through Ender Lilies
Can we talk about the real problem with the games tho?
These two cards are too different, why is the title so high in lilies, it hurts me
all above board, i'm sure
Im surprised myself that i managed to,usually i get lost so much and stuck at some singular part that i may not even end up completing a game, this was a pretty smooth experience though
Magnolia is definitely the more streamlined of the two so it should go similarly
enjoy Crimson Forest
I love this one
Small wins.
TIL that this was even a thing
iiuc it was mostly an issue with mobile ports, so not many of the games we play
Indeed
It's slowly getting there tho, plenty of games advertise their DLC in the title page nowdays
It's a small leap to advertising other stuff
#EnderLilies/Magnolia: the more things change, the more they stay the same
playing magnolia rn and one thing that keeps catching me off guard a bit is that characters feel like they actually have character, since in ender lilies it made sense for them not to cuz of them being just blighted undead n all that, protagonist being silent as well it had a much different mood to it
not a bad thing, just one that im not used to yet
is magnolia part of the same world lore wise?
or just connected in any way
lol yeah sure, why not
it's kind of insane to think about the fact that there's currently a non zero percent chance of Kamiya getting to direct a new DMC game
the thought of it both excites and deeply terrifies me
DMC, Okami, and Bayonetta I can see tying together with an incredibly thin thread. I don't know enough about Viewtiful Joe and Wonderful 101 to add them to the mix
...This feels weird, but I'll allow it.
Same world as far as we can tell
Also yeah I liked the characters having a bit more of a personality
The small vignette they do at respites are real cute
i kinda dig the lack of it in the first game, but can def appreciate this as well
I think it works better because the story in general is more complex
So you kinda want more than two characters driving the plot
the soundtrack fucking SLAPS so far though
100% agree
first game had a really nice ambience but this shit is actually amazing
I now want Bayonetta to do the Henshin A-Go Go lmao
I like Ender Lilies, I think Ender Magnolia is one of the best games I've played tho
She already does all the poses
dont wanna judge too much yet since im still early on,but im kinda underwhelmed by the difficulty of magnolia compared to lilies, even with it on hard
Doesn't quite get to HK on the mechanical level IMO but it's exceptional on every aspect
might just be me being used to how the game works though
I think it's easier, but I think it's because the combat is more responsive
They should definitely add a "very hard" preset IMO
i love this fucker already hes so cute
the horse was pretty as well in the first game
would be nice if very hard added extra attacks to bosses/enemies n such
FAST TRAVEL WITHOUT GOING TO RESPITES HELL YEAH
really like seeing actual stat changes as well now instead of "slightly increases aerial damage"
Agreed
jfc why is yolvan's stance break so strong
shield fuckers are like a million times more annoying though, having to wait for them to attack instead of dash behind and kill them
What did you think of the fact that they ||give you double jump and dash|| pretty much immediatly?
mixed,i do very much like it qol wise and it feels like it was made exactly for what im doing, playing both games one after another, but at the same time it just doesnt feel right?
That was a bold move IMO but like, it really helps the gameplay to feel fast and mobile right away
i got used to the regular dodge in the first game so ti didnt bother me too much,i probably would have prefered to get parry early though
I think you'll love what they did with the parry
no more bullshit knockback on hit?
That too but more that it's a whole thing now...no spoilers tho, I'll wait until you find it
do i atleast get it soon or is it a later-on thing
It's not late, but it depends in which direction you go after the game opens up a bit
oh is it open ended?
Not super open, but you have a couple of choices as to the order you tackle things in
Ix in his playthrough went to the first place I went to basically as the very last thing in he could do in the lower stratum which was amusing
Like if you have ||Yolvan|| it already happened
I would say that's the end of the tutorial IMO
i didnt even know theres any other way i can go
right i need to not forget that this game released only a couple weeks ago and spoilers are actually relevant this time
ofc mimics still have to be a thing
if box a lil too 2d its bad
areas feel so much less claustrophobic in this game, its nice but also weird at the same time, reminds me more of ori and the will of the wisps
As Ix observed, it makes sense with them giving you much more mobility right away
They need to give you more space to jump around if you can jump higher
||shackled beast's|| soundtrack was...certainly a choice
wait is ||shackled beast|| the thing youre referring to?
ok i was scared for a second parry was locked on cooldown
Lol

it's like id Software or Valve games
Now, it's your turn.

||Talking to the literal goddess and creator of life as he knows it, promising to atone for mankind’s misdeeds, and she refuses him…so he tells her to pray to whatever divinity prays to. ||Holy SHIT that goes hard. Especially in context, since this is the culmination of two games’ storyline.
You either hate RD or love it, and boy do I love it
Oh yeah, that line does indeed go hard. I don't think I've seen anyone else tell off gods in that particular way before.
Tellius games were so peak. PoR for gameplay, RD for story. Apparently there was a threequel planned, since there’s characters marked as “wounded” in battle who don’t die after certain points (like sothe)
But it never came to be
oh yeah I remember highlighting that line when I got there too
what I heard was the threequel got sorta smooshed into RD and that's part of why it often feels like it has a bit too much in it
I read RD as Rainbow Dash at first
the more souls i get in DoS the more i love this game
For every repeat of Aria (Tho I would not forgive them if the Student Witch wasn't in, GLORIOUS ATTACK KITTY) you get something glorious like THE BONE THRONE
After doing so many of those sneaking VR missions in MGS2 I wanted to see if I could do a full ghost run of the Virtuous Mission really quick
I almost got caught a few times but it's doable
reminds me, I have yet to play MGS3
I am now installing Kingdom Come Deliverance
enjoy! I claimed the first one on Epic Games Store last year, still need to get around to it
Yeah I got it free on Epic Games too. I just havent ever played it
I also need to eventually play the Shadowrun games, cuz I got those free too
KCD1 is still quite demanding when maxed out today, but it looks very good
in fact, I heard its executable is the same as KCD2
so the engine hasn't changed all that much (it's still CryEngine), but KCD2 looks better thanks to improved assets/lighting
CryEngine sees very little third-party use nowadays, but Warhorse seems to be doing a great job at it
...I remember when CryEngine powered games on the Wii U, like Sonic Boom. It ran quite poorly and didn't look all that great
I played a bit of it but the I got distracted, now I have like two other big games I want to knock out before I get back to it
I was a little confused but I got there in the end
yo nice! cornering into a kiss of death
I'm looking up how I'm supposed to do this. It never sticks in my head for some reason, haha
yeah fair enough, it's pretty rare to run into right?
noo not really
ahh ok
Many games are decided by having a 1 pawn advantage, which eventually turns into a queen. so, queen and king end games aren't rare for that reason.
I posted this on Reddit and they gave me really good and easy to execute patterns to force checkmate while avoiding stalemate
We are very excited to reveal that we have begun working on another U.S. state for American Truck Simulator. At this time, we have four map expansions in development, so Missouri, Iowa, and Louisiana will now be joined by... Illinois for American Truck Simulator! Welcome to the beautiful Prairie State! [url=
yoooo
That's sick
is this something where you can piece multiple states together from different expansions and drive from, say, Utah through Wyoming and Nebraska into Iowa even if they're not all in the same pack?
Yes IIRC. Most of the older DLC are now in packs that made some geographical sense. You can buy the states separately if you want.
preparing for WT air rb
Wow loot boxes are returning to overwatch
Portal 2 is like the best game ever but i wish it was a little longer
ender magnolia: i hate rats i hate rats i hate rats
CO-OP mode! and the perpetual testing initiative
true
oh yeah theres modded campaigns too
and Portal Stories: Mel too
One day I'll play portal
never finished that one
is this the one with the third portal
(im always down to do portal co-op btw, been ages since i did it)
I liked Portal 1. and I think I beat portal 2? but it was forgettable.

(you're allowed to have you're opinion but damn thats a hot take)
I still think that take is cold next to my take of just outright not liking the humor of Borderlands.
you've never played it!
If you want more portal 2 content get the motion pack dlc thing and a razer hydra motion controller set lol
I've played it. but I played a yarr'd version and later was gifted it on steam.
aaah
Deff worth it to own
If you can find one
A working set generally goes for 150 usd+ iirc
explodes you with my mind for having a different opinion than me
I read Postal 2 instead
POSTAL 2? FORGETTABLE?????
Actually only played about an hour of Postal 2 and had multiple runs of Portal 2, both singleplayer and coop, so...eh...
Postal 2 is... A game.

Oh!!
hope there's some cool news coming
though it doesn't impact me so much, given I don't have a playstation lol
I look at events like these for gaming world as a whole 💖 and also they may come to other platforms one day or be emulated or played in cloud! Thanks for letting us know!
True that, you're welcome
these days, most PlayStation games end up on PC sooner or later
unless you're GT7 or Astrobot. Something tells me these games won't be on PC for a long time; the former because it's a service game, the latter because it's a big part of the PlayStation brand (basically "fanservice: the game")
Yeah basically all playstations exclusives that aren't called Bloodborne get to PC sooner or later
(i'm not salty, you are salty)
yeah, idk why bloodborne didn't get a remaster or something. I've not heard anything about it for years now
ShadPS4 keeps making progress, hopefully it will be more optimized so more people can play at 60 FPS in the future
but right now, you can already finish the game on it
5 Minutes
In one hand I prefer Bloodborne not to get announced so that PS4 emulation progress continues, on the other hand... I want it out so that people can stop asking for it lmao.
Apparently a god of war remastered collection might be getting announced.
It's just bad when people don't have access to good games
That reminds me Avowed from Obsidian releases tomorrow and is on game pass
Yeah...
stares at Mac users
that would be neat
Here we go!
that twilight emoji is super cute lol
Monster hunter
hey I'm here too

might just have it on mute on the side though
I don't expect many things for me
Lesgo

Shinobi Art of Vengeance... goddamn that looks good
Hey, that game looks pretty sweet!

Sonic!
Similar style to the Ninja Gaiden by Blasphemous' devs, I'll take a note for that one for later
Sonic is once again too lazy to get out of the car.

Sonic Transformed but for the new age I guess
Also a beta
The sonic website has crashed already
god its been years since I've seen digimon.
That looks cool
This feels familiar
Like final fantasy or something
looks cool tho
Oh wow stylish
Imagine what would happen if like they announced Devil May Cry games remakes
Now I am interested
I put the time at 2x speed so I can visit the future
I like this
yo is this dark souls-gun shot
A bit too clichè but if the gameplay is good I might be persuaded
it's weird to have a sonic racing game when sonic probably should just run real fast
I like cliché sometimes when it's in style
i think it's to give the others a chance
uh oh

it's kind of funny that digimon is digimon but they don't seem to have very popular games
it would be pretty funny to have a racing game where everyone is in cars but soic and shadow
So, this is going to be microtansation hell right?
Yup
oh yeah, 100% Genryu
randy....
"I made a universe where you're inside the digital world"
"Oh it's a video game?"
"No."
Borderlands time
get him out
I don't know anything about Digimon, but I kinda hope this new game ends up being really cool and makes the franchise more popular, I always felt bad that Pokemon completely overshadows Digimon to the point that nowadays kids probably actually don't know what Digimon even is

digimon's big problem, I suspect, is that they have too many critters and no consistent relationship between them
borderlands the IV
get him out
What he did
I can't believe they're making a wrestlin mmo
I am over Borderlands but happy for those that celebrate
The movie?
What did Randy do
dw renamon makes sure they do
Ooooooh can’t wait for this game
who is this voice actor?
It takes two was SO good
looks neat
Goosebumps
This definitely sounds like the perfect conceit for a It Takes Two type game and them being able to cook up cray scenarios for it
you still need to play A Way Out sometime
I am so fucking ready for a good sci-fi story Expanse style
"it doesn't look too bad"
<literally a big fucking hole in the ship>
Thank you for reminding me!!
so they did some teen slasher games and now they're doing a Thing/Alien game
pretty neat
The Thing: In Space
Oh it's The Thing but not The Thing
Wow
Directive 8020
Sign me up
from the name I assume they were transporting nvidia cards
oh dear

oh they're programming in clay now?
I don't think they will ever be, given how much of a fanbase it still has after all these games
Owow
last fnaf game was the Into The Pit game in August
Nightmare Before Christmas style
I do admire the style
konami
it's interesting when games branch out to other styles
that's an octopus
Octodad 2
Awww
🦑
I'm surprised Konami still does whimsy, that's a good sign
"roguelike franchise"?
looks mobile
Wait, the octopus game was Konami?
oh no
Gosh I love games
Someone still human works at the company
They said Konami I'm pretty sure
It's not really that surprising at all, they specialize in these types of games for mobile
fuck the ||king of the garbage heap|| 🖕 (ender magnolia spoiler)
fun fact, today is Darwin day
Oh shiot, I loved this game, I will 100% play this
Ooh
huh. weird. Not what I would have expected from them at all, given the last titles they had
one of their more popular franchises they kept focusing on was a very cutesy cartoony baseball game that seems to be exclusive to japan
so this is not out of normality for Konami

Nire, you played Onimusha?
captured on pc
I want to but not yet

is that what it said
I think I will try Ninja Gaiden first since they're on game pass and stuff
it's the early 2010s again
look in the mirror the zombie is you
oh right! Haven't checked new games on game pass in a while
looks
Avowed tomorrow, from Obsidian
OH GOD NOT ANOTHER TALKING BRACELET
🐍
do you hear me SNAKE
I'm watching Mint Fantome watch this, it's so fun, she's going nuts over Snake
this looks weird
I usually wouldn't care about yet another fantasy rpg....but it's from Obsidian!!
Outer Worlds was amazing!
i should give Avowed a try
what the fuck is that

Yup
a new one?
Must be
Death Stranding 2?
Or a collaboration
I love indie games
I've gotten too cynical over the AAA industry over time

soon video games
I don't blame you.
