My friend gave me a fuck ton of runes so selling realmbreaker 4.1 is my main money maker. It's not much but it's honest work

but the rest looks really good

when it comes to modern renditions of the Doomguy face, I preferred Wolfenstein: ET's implementation of it

nice, smooth 3D models that get pretty close to the source material (Wolfenstein 3D in this case) but with more natural animation

it did look a bit silly to see the "grin" animation used whenever you were holding down the left mouse button for any reason, such as distributing health/ammo packs

I like how the most important elements of the HUD were brought to the center at least, it's better for ultrawide players. They probably took notes from MachineGames' Wolfenstein games here

ironically, the status bar design of classic Doom is very ultrawide-friendly too (more so than most HUDs from source ports)

I know it's customary to put all the ui elements in the corners but when you get a nice ui that has all the important stuff as close to the reticle as possible in a high pace shooter it's just perfect

I dunno if I was doing something weird, maybe reseting position during training mode too much or alt-tabbing too much causes some weird network issues or something, it was kinda annoying

Was fiddling around the other day with MGS3, I just got the urge to play it on a whim, it ran perfectly fine but I really didn't dig the idea of playing with just a keyboard like I usually do for PS2 games, luckily PCSX2 has mouse mapping so you can use the mouse as the analog stick, I couldn't get it to work at first and I looked and looked but I only found unhelpful and old threads about this, until I realized pretty randomly that you have to press ESC to bring up the ''in-game'' menu and then load up your controller settings from that menu and the mouse mapping works
It ended up working great, not super fluid, the mouse aiming when in first person is actually extremely slow compared to looking around outside of first person, but it allowed me to do small adjustments when aiming and simply being able to map the attack and first person view buttons and being able to look around with the map already makes the game feel so much more comfortable

I think it was supposed to be "haunting" with the song, but yeah, it's really just a guy climbing up a ridiculously long ladder. No safety, not even something to lean back against if you need to catch your breath (because let me tell you, climbing a ladder for that long is exhausting).

also to be fair, the moment that precedes the ladder climbing is a long boss fight between Snake and this 100+ year old plant-man who is so old he has to save his strength by literally being dead all the time except for when he's woken up to fight in a battle, who also has the ability to bathe in sunlight to recover his life force and can speak to the forest (and also has some vague ability to slightly control nature too since after his death some branches that were blocking your path just magically go away?)

so by comparison, Snake climbing an almost comically long ladder is actually the most normal thing to happen in the game

this is another fun moment I had, I didn't notice that using The Fear's camo drains your stamina really quickly (which makes you hungry and makes your stomach growl), but it ended up working great as a distraction to get the other guy in a more advantageous position
Ignore me panicking and trying to abuse save states (at least before I realized I didn't even have any recent save states to load so I just had to improvise )

I was gonna say I was wondering in what ways Delta would ''improve'' on all this menuing and controls considering it's gonna be a more 1:1 remake than a reimagination but we actually already saw how it's gonna work and it's actually pretty quick
The transition is a little weird to me but I understand it's there to make it a little prettier, I just wouldn't mind if Snake is magically wearing different camo but I guess they have to put it there because of the new mechanics the game will have surrounding things like dirt and mud and procedural damage on your clothes
At least they kept Snake's goofy cat pose hands when idle

Yeah since the guy is already so old and basically dying at this point you can just wait it out and wait for him to naturally die if you just boot up the game like a couple of days later
You can also try and snipe him before the boss fight entirely right after the cutscene where he first shows up, but I didn't get it to work, you need the sniper rifle to really get this one and I didn't find it beforehand, but if you do kill him here then a bunch of Ocelot's soldiers show up in the areas you fight him in and they're actually a little tougher to get past

I actually really liked doing the boss fight because any fight in this game that requires precise aiming and quick reflexes is kinda not super fun because you can't really be doing any fancy FPS stuff in a game where you just don't have that much control over your character (unless you're playing the new PC port which trivializes most fights)
instead his entire boss fight is basically a giant cat and mouse game, you're supposed to fight him like a sniper, but you don't have to do that, I didn't even try because my sniper was lethal and I like doing non lethal playthroughs so I just chased him around following his footprints and sneaking up to him, you usually get the camo pattern of each boss you kill but for The End you actually have to sneak up behind him and make him freeze and drop to the ground and keep him there long enough for him to just drop his camo to you

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that, if you do kill him like that earlier than you're supposed to, his wheelchair will blow up and travel directly towards you like a homing missile

Also just to add to this and before I forget, one of my other favourite boss fights in the game was Volgin's because it actually made me use CQC for once
You don't really need to do any of this quick equip-unequip unless you wanna be a bit tryhard about it, most of the fight is just keep distance, avoid attacks, get your throws in when you can, and shoot him with whatever gun of your choice you want, nothing too complicated and really fun to do and puts to use most of the game's mechanics

MGS4 is definitely gonna be in Vol 2, what I don't know is if MGSV will be in it, they could do POOPs and PW, or they could do PW and MGSV, or if they wanted to be lame about it they could do MGS4, GZ and TPP and leave out PW entirely, which would be the wrong decision to make of course

It would be kind of weird to re-sell MGSV on these collections since that game is so easily accessible though

The other games deserve some love too, since they included even the NES port of MG1 I wonder if they'll include Ghost Babel and the Acid games as extras for Vol 2, that would be really nice

It's very love it or hate it kind of thing, I actually enjoy Ground Zeroes a lot more than TPP just because that entire area that you play in for the whole game was really really well designed and felt more Metal Gear than TPP's open world
A lot of people complain that TPP's world is very empty and lifeless and there's not really a whole lot of anything of substance going on, but at the same time TPP is very sandbox-y in comparison to the usual Metal Gear experience, so it's very much designed for you to make the entire map your playground in terms of how you wanna approach different situations in pretty much any way you want with all the tools the game gives you

Well obviously they're gonna look similar on a surface level, Dread just has a lot of very same-y areas and music, most of it is very ambient and it doesn't have many catchy or memorable tunes like pretty much every other Metroid had, M2, Super, ZM, Fusion
But it has arguably the best gameplay so far with all of the improvements they made and built up from Samus Returns, it has the best feeling movement and traversal and combat and actually a lot of very epic moments and really good cutscenes and presentation

I had something very similar

Was unable to get a CT scan and MRI despite going to various doctors for a year

Ultimately it turned out developing stress management techniques helped a lot

-relaunch the game, worse than the beta

-extremely predatory monetization and practices, grindy to the extreme (there's even reportedly a glitch that made people purchase skins from the shop that they couldn't refund after)
-basically no competitive scene, characters not being unlocked in offline mode kills any chance of running tournaments, no ranked system
-shut down after 8 months

Basically, in older battelfiedl you could chose to be random army man #43, which you customise to look like you want, and then pick if he is marksman, a support, an assult etc, and have access to various weapons and gadgets based on that

In the recent one, you chose to be Mr Guy, which has a name and is his own person and has his gadgets and weapons

So a Hero is a set Character, think one type of model/person, with a special ability style of kit, and little to no customisation of what they can bring in.
A class in battlefield terms is more like a role you can fulfil in the game. A medic could bring in certain gadgets or have a selection of guns etc. An Assault would have options for mines vs Ammo packs. You could build your own kit, and play to unlock neater tools.

Like difference in Overwatch term could be, playing a cowboy, or playing Jesse McRee, which is a cowboy

It also just looked bizzare in-game too, with the hero-style. You'd have a bunch of the same looking character instead of many variations of normal people who happen to be "medic, engineer, assualt, recon" etc.

The battlefield games are kinda interesting examples, as how do you matchmake 64 players?

Even if the teams are balanced, you can definitely run into imbalanced (skill wise) encounters

though thats supposed to be par tof the fun as well, teaming up on particular players, or watching one or two players run riot.

Got my PSP charged up, going through some ops in Peace Walker
I gotta say, I don't know how ~11 year old me ever managed to play this game for as long as I did, the 20 FPS framerate is absolutely atrocious to the eyes, the extremely low resolution makes things blend in together so much, the PSP analog stick slips off the finger really easy, and you kinda have to claw this when menuing around sometimes, it's really taxing on the hands after playing for like 20-30 minutes

I would install this on a PS3 emulator on PC and go through all the game again and do all the extra ops all over again but I'm waiting and hoping for this game to come out in the vol 2 of the master collection, Peace Walker HD running on PC with keyboard and mouse support would just be heaven, I'd also hate to start a new file just for the pc port to come out and then I have to do it all over again, so for the moment, I gotta endure the PSP version lol

PS Vita owners had it good, the entire HD collection is available on the Vita plus you can play MGS1 since it can run PS1 games too, basically every game up until that point minus 4 on a handheld

Finished Kvark a half life inspired Czech retro shooter , pretty solid all in all , the locations are nicely designed and pretty atmospheric especially music , guns are....pretty good but some feel pretty underwhelming , enemies are fun but need a bit more variety but combat is still interesting enough ,boses are good too especially the second one , i think my biggest complain is that i feel like a game a bit too easy , its not even about the fights but just how much loot they give to you , i am not.....against it but i feel like with such atmosphere and on a hardest difficulty i expect to run a little short on ammo but no , you get A LOT even without secrets , so yeah it has problems but all in all its a neat shooter

Played Ender Magnolia a bunch, this game seems to be pretty damn big too, I feel like I would be about at the end in Lilies but I feel like, halfway through in magnolia.

I'm also playing the hard difficulty which no doubt slows me down.

I could make it harder but "hard" seems to be a sweet spot, I fought a couple of bosses that gave me problems but nothing that took more than a dozen attempts at worse
