a big reason why I played the modern Dooms is that they looked difficult in an interesting and different way
in Doom the enemy projectiles are mostly slow enough to sidestep, so the combat flow is one of constant motion and constant snap judgements about which directions to attack and move in to keep the right balance of you dealing damage and their damage not reaching you before you can kill them
in Halo projectiles are faster, MC and enemies die faster, melee less powerful, so (on a sufficiently high difficulty) the focus is on approaching each room carefully and positioning yourself so you're dealing enough damage to kill an enemy without being in too many enemy lines of fire at the same time
Doom isn't the kind of game where you'd use a grenade to force an enemy to move out of cover, but Halo is

Pro: Feels very Ace Combat, enjoyable story, fun super-planes, post-stall maneuvers very fun when you can pull them off.
Con: Story and missions don't feel long enough (it is thought that some of it was scrapped when development was delayed), tech tree progression probably the worst in the series, most DLC not even close to worth it, post-stall maneuvers difficult to actually initiate making high-difficulty playthroughs even more difficult as they are pretty much necessary to out-fly enemy aces.
Despite that cons list being longer I still recommend it, especially at the 90% off deal

I'd say it's worth it if you're just now getting the game. It will make it feel like you're getting more of a game with more content from the get go. If you've had it since release, DLC has been released in such a slow drip feed at huge fractions of the original game price that long-time owners definitely feel more ripped off.

Tribes also has pretty interesting movement, with lots of verticality, it's less about doing crazy mouse movements and more about strategically using the terrain to land as smoothly as possible (and ski as fast as possible)

I am somehow curious if that music always matches up the timing or if you have to be very lucky
I realized that mine will also line up perfectly when I heard the line from Count and the music timing, so I could fly right behind the bird
