ironically, MacBooks are probably among the devices that handle this the best

It's absolutely wild that they put the Pathfinder games in the fifth tier. Sure, they've got a bit of jank, but not that much. I'd put both of them in the third tier, honestly.
Also, Baldur's Gate 3 still has lots of jank despite it being a lot more stable now than at release, and it's at the very top of the first tier, so the actual "jank tier" part of this list is somewhat dumb.

Axiom Verge 1 is a tight, well designed Metroid game. Axiom Verge 2 doesn't try to be that. It's a continuation of 1 but also has a nicely distinct identity
Ultimately I would not recommend 2 to someone who has not played 1 even though the story is not directly related.

yeah, a lot of people are complaining about performance and frame pacing issues (especially during cutscenes, which don't target a steady 30 FPS but constantly hover between 29 and 30 FPS)
even RTX 4090s can barely hit 4K60
I assume it will be squared out post-launch somewhat (by patchers but also modders), so don't buy day-1 if you have high expectations here
note that Jedi Survivor is still not squared out to this day though, so caveat emptor. 🙂
