Performance for intensive games when using the Game Porting Kit can be less than ideal without proper optimisation for Mac like making better use of Metal APIs etc.

From what I've seen so far, unless I'm getting this wrong, it's because of some outfits the mc can wear that got patched day 1 to cover up a little bit more than they were before
There's a legitimate conversation to be had here about censorship and double standards on what gets and doesn't gets censored as well as the general act of purchasing something only for it to be changed immediately when it comes out, but in this specific example it seems to have gotten way out of hand to me

1 is weird because to me it encapsules so much of what is perfect about a Dark Souls game to me but a lot of those aspects didn't fully return because from 2 onwards I felt like things went back to a more Demon's Souls ish formula, DS2 re-added back in the whole mechanic of dying and having your HP halved constantly if you were hollow which I never liked as a mechanic, both DS2 and DS3 go back to a more linear style with a hub area that branches off into hallways vs DS1's extremely open nature to the point that people that play for the first time don't even know which way is progress because of all the places you can go, DS2 also added a consumable healing item like Demon's too

For helldivers it's worth mentioning, the enemies have the same health across all mission difficulty types, you just meet stronger variants, and some enemies get new abilities, and more spawn in general the higher you go

It's a great way of adjusting difficulty because it means what you use to kill something in lower difficulties, still kill that specific thing in later ones

You just have to add ways to handle the new threats

I think I may have found something weird... So I turned on fsr frame gen in cyberpunk with a mod... But then I have frame gen on in the driver as well. And now I think it is adding 2 levels of frame gen because I am now seeing about 130 fps, insane to see on the fps counter for a tripple a game on a handheld, but the latency feels worse then playing at 30 fps

its just bethesda ruined a lot of other aspects of the game, like how unique weapons arent really worth finding anymore, because legendary enemies drop random "unique" weapons instead

there are more powerful handhelds, but they all come with downsides such as battery life, or the OS being unwieldy for handheld usage (i.e. shipping with Windows)

SteamOS means that not all games will work (particularly those with more intrusive anticheat), but the interface is more streamlined and polished

SteamOS also has quick resume functionality that works quite well IIRC

along with a larger community, so most community developments are tailored for the Deck first and foremost

I would get one if I was traveling frequently, but my Fold 4 suffices for the occasional mobile gaming needs

Good thing about steam deck as well is the gyro. I love playing first person shooter games with gyro.

Some play well with it like l4d2. Payday is only controller or mouse, and since gyro just emulates mouse movements, it doesn't quite work unless you map keyboard binds to controller. Doom Eternal and Cyberpunk works but the buttons shown on screen keep changing between keyboard and controller when you aim with gyro and move with controller.

But if you are fine with only controller then these aren't issues anyway

As far as I know, no pc game integrates gyro, you just gotta do it through steam input.

I honestly would have gotten a steam deck myself if it was available in Australia. The extra graphics power of my handheld is cool but the battery life sucks

Also on another note, I am unsure if I want to use frame generation or not. It adds latency and the game isn't technically running any better.
