Sometimes it surprises me to see how unoptized indie games are. Makes you realize that maybe tripple A games do have a lot of optimization despite what people say. Granted some indie games probably don't even use LODs or might go too hard or stuff like smoke effects or grass densitity.
But like, generally fps won't vary by 80 in games by big companies. But then in indie games that is fairly normal.

It's better to see it as a good experience that's been polished, tested, and fixed up as much as possible by both the devs and the community, which is for once given a damn about, than to see yet another rushed piece of garbage that fails because it's broken for so long and it pushes people away. Plus, at least those play tests that they do are actually tests, and not marketing like COD does lol

Yes! I was amazed that they actually let you wipe out one of the guilds instead of only allowing you to ignore or join them. Too bad they don't let you destroy the Thieves' Guild too (particularly given their story in the game). Some kind of third path for the College and the Companions would also be interesting.

For example, I have an existing save file on Super Mario World with some progress. The emulator will see that, but if I delete the save file inside the game, power the game down, then power it back on, that deleted save file is now back

Complete reinstalls are a bit problematic though, because I've done so many specific tweaks and changes to get things just-so

You can copy the config files somewhere else, then if the clean install works, you can compare the clean install and the manual backup

Well, that was confusing. I did a clean reinstall of EmuVR, but when I ran its program to check for Retroarch cores, it still had remembered that I Had downloaded bsnes, snes9x, and beetle bsnes

Cyberpunk RED has a quick start set, if you want to look into it. The game has options so you can dial it to be more crunchy if you want (it can get extremely crunchy).

I think it's because Blade Runner is the first really good example of "megacorporations taking over and turning a city into a nightmare" dystopian visions, which was then incorporated into cyberpunk. It's just that there's no real "cyber" in BR, and even the androids are bio-engineered rather than machines.

It has permadeath. Knowledge is the only resource you carry from run to run. The game is not sensitive to time and you can pause whenever. It is played on a graph, and it's complex enough.

Found an exploit in content warning. If you just record video at the house and use up all the film, you just can juat simply dive and resurface straight away from the old world and when you try to extract the video it just fails and gives you free views. An easy way to skip levels in the game. Perhaps good if you have done the first level a lot.

Been trying to figure out the way the game works, it seems you need to record a wide variety of monsters and perhaps locations too. If you record too much of the same, even if it is a monster, you don't get much. Deadly monsters get you more though.
Anyway this game is actually amazing and very unique. Have never seen a game where how you progress depends entirely on what you record on the in game camera.
I can see this game getting big. Only came out today but I could see lots of videos getting made about this game soon

It is a backrooms exploration game so that is fairly easy to do I guess, but just the lighting and the VHS filter make it look so real.
I like it when a game is realistic by design though, like rdr2. So it can run on low powered hardware.

Interestingly I found out recently, an fps cap at 30 can actually feel really good if you the game isn't struggling. Just consistent frame times no matter what happens. Good for saving power. But then struggling at 30 fps feels terrible.

You have to assign a deposit for the resource and then make sure there are surplus in the sectors you produce that resource
So they get sent to the other sectors
Like in the sector in which you produce alloy, you can say "keep 30 always, and the rest send it away" and it will propagate assuming you do have a surplus in production and set the other sectors to want alloy sent to them
It is tuned very difficult and I am not a master, I did have to knock down the difficulty to be able to finish it, pretty sure people better at management than me could have kept going with the standard difficulty
There are a lot of options tho, you can fine tune the difficulty if you feel like it

Well, Matt Stone and Trey Parker went on to say they got burnt out with the RPGs, and they wanted to try something different, something that Matt Stone apparently enjoyed as a kid, which was the mix of gameplay elements we see, and for $40-$50, it isn't bad. I could see frustration if this was a full price game, but even they knew it wasn't worth that, which is a good thing. Not to mention there's still DLC to come that'll add more to it. I still say the hate is a bit much, and some will disagree, that's fine, but from my experience, I enjoyed what I paid for overall. We all know there's been far worse. At least this game wasn't completely broken and the co-op works

It's like I just commented on the video. They knew it wasn't gonna be as content packed or as big as the last two games, because they priced it far below regular full game price. Including the deluxe edition of it. It's far from the worst thing I've played. There's been far more broken experiences with what feels like predatory monetization. This is just one of those things I've sat back and enjoyed while mowing down enemies and grinding to upgrade my character
Now sure, some may disagree here, and that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion, but the hate feels like it's a bit much with this game. Especially when you look at the many many flops that have been completely broken that have come out in the last few years or so. I'll sit here and admit that the Henrietta post game stuff was a bit of a letdown in terms of difficulty and rewards, but that didn't ruin the whole game for me. I saw myself still smiling and laughing at points at this game. Even if it wasn't as "unhinged" as the other games, where these guys are acting "more tame" as people say

I have trouble calling the steam deck a pc though. It has too many limitations. It has a desktop mode but it is so limited.
If you wanna do stuff like install mods it is probably easier on windows
I mean technically it is a pc but the OS just makes it feel like a console that runs windows games
I prefer the ally for the flexibilty of windows, and that I can run literally any game with whatever mods I want
Also the steam deck isn't available in Australia so I didn't have much choice anyway

It is good. I wish it had more ram and a faster gpu would be better. But it is good enough that it replaced my desktop gaming pc.
But yeah a lot of steam deck vs ally is like, do you want a console for pc games, or do you want a full on windows pc.

When I've used the ROG Ally, it's definitely had it's issues, and even gives my Steam Cloud problems whenever I've actually tried playing games on it

Steam cloud issues I think just come with playing games offline, steam cloud doesn't always like it. I don't really use steam cloud myself though.
and I feel like people's experience on these handhelds is just all personal. I have seen a lot of people say there are issues with the steam deck and prefer a windows handheld, I have seen a lot of people hate windows handhelds and prefer steam deck.
I haven't had any issues myself, other than low RAM.
16gb is a bit low for VRAM and system RAM. I have seen someone mod their ally to 32gb of ram. Requires soldering though.
