For those who have played both factorio and dyson sphere program, "how factorio is DSP"? I showed a screen to someone in another channel and they loved the vibe of it, but I can't really answer the question as i've only played DSP as a factorio-like game

Oh, well, I played both at an amateur level for over 100 hours apiece, so I might be able to help. I'll start by saying I strongly recommend playing both. (For that matter, play Satisfactory as well, it's also great, but that's the last I'll say about that.) They have many obvious similarities. I feel like DSP is a proper evolution of the genre. They are their own unique experiences, but some of the skills you learned in one carries over to the other. They're not as similar as they may seem at first glance.

DSP feels more like a space game with assemblers, where Factorio feels more like just a pure assembler game. So, if a pure automation experience sounds fun to you (and it IS fun), give it a shot!

I feel like DSP makes exploring more fun than Factorio. However, Factorio is far better balanced than DSP. Especially with the latest combat update in DSP, which I found unnecessary and half-baked, combat in Factorio is a blast. Pun intended, obviously.

It also cannot be overstated how much fun Factorio is multiplayer, which isn't an option in DSP at the moment (The multiplayer mod is still broken, last I saw).

DSP is not Factorio with the space exploration mod. Space in DSP is extremely well done. Actually traversing though the stars using space warps feels great. Timing your landing and accidentally overshooting that moon is hilariously frustrating in the best kind of way. It absolutely outshines Factorio if s p a c e is your thing.

It's nice that Factorio has a well-defined end goal (launch 1 rocket), but of course you can go beyond that. Factorio is brilliantly crafted and if you just enjoy games in general, I consider it to be the best made game.

Also do NOT start your first game in Factorio using the space exploration mod. It makes the entire game way harder and is only intended for hardcore audiences.

If someone was brand new to the factory games genre, I would have suggested DSP, but with the latest patch, I'd stick with Factorio.

Sadly the agreement to cease development extends to Citra 3DS emulator; same dev team. Yet the eShop for it has been shut down, 3DS is confined to second hand stores these days, and Citra is the ONLY 3DS emulator.

My overall opinion on it is, if they were genuinely making money off of illegally distributed versions of Switch games, then they deserved to have this lawsuit dropped on them. Not only is it the latest Nintendo console still being monitored, but it's genuinely illegal to do what they did for money. Most emulators don't do that sort of thing. While it can be seen as annoying considering how Nintendo is and can be with lawsuits about ridiculous things, for once, they actually had a valid reason to send out a lawsuit since Nintendo was losing money for games that don't exactly need to be preserved quite yet. This still isn't gonna stop emulators in general, and this won't mean all the other big companies are gonna go after other emulators, like Sony going after PPSSPP for example, and ruin emulation. The companies are probably at least aware enough of how things are these days, and aren't dumb enough to not realize they honestly either suck at preserving their old games or, the most likely thing, they leave their old games in the dust on purpose so we can keep throwing money at them for their new hardware and/or games. If the other bigger companies ever became dumb enough to do that, piracy would become a massive migraine for them more than before, and they would be losing a shit ton of money, which in my opinion, they would deserve at that point if they ever decided to be that petty

It still annoys me though that they'll do all of that to people who do preserve the games people grew up with and miss, and meanwhile, all of the big companies just won't do it at all, which is why this happens. Now look, maybe some games have issues being brought back because of a copyrighted song or something that they have issues renewing the licensing for, but even then, they can just remove something like that, even if it sucks, if it doesn't support the product. Microsoft is by far the best at bringing back old titles, and even they still have many titles still missing from the OG Xbox and Xbox 360. Sony is giving just as much effort as a COD game gets put into it, which isn't a lot, whenever it comes to preserving their old games, and Nintendo is kind of in the middle, but only gradually getting there over the course of many years

I've noticed FF7 ''suffers'' a lot from weird translation quirks at least this original version, a lot of the way phrases are 'constructed' is very japanese and it seems in some areas it was translated pretty literally like this line
I'm guessing in the original japanese line was something along the lines of the classic Shikata ga nai (It can't be helped/Can't do anything about it) but they must've translated it poorly

yep, original FF7 is a classic example of translation quality being not so great in the past

particularly the infamous tutorial message that's just flat-out backwards

Earlier in the game there was another moment like this that caught my attention and I managed to find a video that explained this particular thing which I found interesting
During the Nibelheim flashback Cloud goes into Tifa's room and he can take one of her clothes, the game refers to it as 'orthopedic', but on the original japanese it's refered to as 'chotto senobi', Se = Back and Nobi = Stretch, Senobi seems to specifically refer to the type of 'stretch' you do when you're standing on your toes almost as if you're trying to appear taller, the translator must've read the 'back' and 'stretch' part of it and thought of it as some sort of clothing that helps with a physical problem, but apparently to refer to something as 'senobi' means something is trying to appear taller or older/more mature than it is, so basically Tifa was wearing something as if to appear more mature and not wearing something that was 'orthopedic'

ha, okay so that's a thing you can do

this boss and this entire area was giving me a lot of trouble because I went into this place without much money or that many items, I wanted to look up its weaknesses and apparently a single elixir (or a phoenix down) would immediately kill it
I would've liked to have had the option to go back here because I was actually leveling up the party and materia a lot but I simply didn't have the items for it, I would've gone back to buy some and come back there to farm if I could

I don't think I did much in terms of side quests but I think I got all the party members for this game, I went back to the forested area to find Yuffie and I fought an optional boss in the Shinra Mansion that drops the key to get Vincent, so that should cover it

and speaking of the mansion despite that optional boss and this one random encounter enemy giving me a lot of trouble I wasn't expecting for this to be the highlight of the entire thing for me

I finished Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and I give it a /10, I didn't like Remake that much but this sequel greatly improved on the aspects I was iffy about in the previous installment. The voice acting/direction and visuals were also phenomenal, I highly recommend the game if you like RPG games
