I was gonna say, reminds me of how the 60 fps ''''''mod''''' works for Peace Walker on the PSP emulator where it just kinda forces the game to go faster, at least that's how I think it works, with 60 fps there's a couple of quirks with the timing of things, but there's also a 30 fps version that seems to work a lot more stable since it's closer to the original 20 fps from the game (I can't believe I played that game entirely with 20 fps on the psp....)

It works if you disable the cheat before loading your first race (or license test) in the session. Otherwise, the game will freeze. You can leave the cheat enabled afterwards

It's inspired by in the sense that when making Dark Souls Miyazaki was inspired by Zelda as one of the many things that he probably had in mind when designing all the things in the Souls games, but it's not like the chosen undead is rolling around the undead burg destroying vases and going through dungeons

It's something a lot more general like the sense of exploration and adventure and whatever, not a direct influence or inspiration

What does directly inspire the souls games is Berserk, seriously I feel like if Dark Souls wasn't as praised as it was it'd probably get accused of plagiarism, a lot of elements all the way up to Elden Ring are straight up ripped from Berserk directly

And when I say a lot, I mean a lot, straight up, directly ripped out of Berserk pages

You’ve already covered the excessive use of the console gimmicks, but I can do you one better: There are some other game design considerations such as using recycled locations (Skyward Sword is particularly bad about this as I understand it) and unclear intention between the dev and the player, leading to confusion on what you’re supposed to do. Phantom Hourglass in particular expects you to solve a particular puzzle by closing the DS and opening it again, but it fails to communicate this and instead gives rather nonsensical instructions. Then the game appears to soft-lock until you close and open it.
Spirit Tracks… I barely remember it, but I finished it the day I bought it during school hours… so it was really short

OG Prime 1 sold 2.8, Dread sold over 3 million. Metroid games usually sell around a million copies.

the only useful context to know from SH1 is that "yes, Silent Hill is a real place with real supernatural shenanigans", since that narrows down wtf is going on in SH2 just a bit

SH1 and SH3 are much more strongly linked (in a plot sense)

If you prefer remakes that's fine but others don't, the only remake that I can say I really do prefer over the original is RE1's remake, and by now I've already played RE2 and RE3, but the remakes don't just automatically stop making those excellent games, they still should be made easily available with modern ports and ideally remastered versions
