theres a few things im not fond of, mostly how they changed clothing
clothing used to provide a bunch of stat bonuses like a traditional RPG armour system, but that means that you often wear the ugliest stuff with the best stats
so they moved that system to cyberware, which makes sense i suppose, with only some clothes offering set bonuses (armoured chestplates providing set armour increases per item rarity level for example)
thats a good change mind, means clothes are mostly cosmetic
but then they added a literal cosmetic clothing system, where you can wear whatever clothes but your actual outfit is completely different to it, which... kinda negated the point of removing stats from clothes?
its just an odd change

It's less buggy for sure, with most of the remaining bugs revolving around vehicles (getting stuck, causing lag, launching themselves sometimes), or pedestrians (clipping out of the world, walking up invisible stairs until they fall to their death, other funny things)
The pedestrian bugs don't ever impact your game so I didn't mind them but the vehicle bugs can be kind of annoying, I got softlocked one time bc of it, car got stuck in the floor and I could not get out for some reason. Also the only non vehicle related bug I had was the phone refusing to appear, causing me to need to reload an earlier save, bc the phone is vital for mission progression.
But that's only two bad glitches over some 50~ hours of gameplay, so assess that as you will.
Combat is fun, exploring the open world is fun, main story is good, dlc story is pretty good, the only really important narrative choices you make however are the endings. A lot of the individual decisions you make in dialogue or quests are unfortunately irrelevant.

There's a lot of them, especially given how the game plays and rewards/punishes folks. It's bad enough that the cheaters tend to know who the others are and avoid them in map (assuming they use the same set).
One change to show player profile or something might help cut down on false reporting and nail the ones that want to be more greedy.

Well in MW2 when it had DMZ it had some extraction mechanics. People would form pre made 6 man squads so they had to change it

Depending on the cheats, you get the usual speed/weapon/unlocks to almost full map knowledge (like name, positions, and where their LOS might be). The folks that know can see others and acknowledge that and move on.
Wipe does level the playing field a fair bit for the first week or so, but then it becomes an arms race or farming folks that can't play as often.

One of the big issues is locking things behind levels and redoing quests once again. It's a PITA to redo yet another series of quests, a lot of which focuses on 2-3 maps for a while.

I don't know personally. Doing the quests and surviving tends to be the easiest ways. Also have to do a bunch of shit to level up most skills that help. It does slow down past 30-something IIRC, but level locked stuff is done around 20 IIRC.
Better to play with friends for sure. It is doable solo, but the game is balanced around small unit tactics (and friends can help get your shit back/hide it well so insurance can pick it up later).

Cassette games were more common in Europe than in the US where most C64 games came on floppy disks, disks and the drive to load them from were more expensive though they were much faster to load from.

this is interesting, given hollywood is kind of going through the exact same thing. Hollywood is interesting because Hollywood has a lot of data that's constantly coming out and a whole culture around it that focuses on the success or failure of films while almost never having the true data. It's generally thought that in order to break even you need to make back about 2.5x of the stated budget. As far as I know, it's never been really clear where it was at for video games. I do recall, though, that the creator behind Supreme Commander said that despite the apparent success of the game, it basically made absolutely nothing, and it's probably a big reason so many video game studios make one or two games and then fold.

Generally I go for getting the two map-spawned evo weapons. You need the laurel for one and the clock lancet for the other, then the silver/gold ring and the left/right... red thingy. Laurel gives a pretty strong invincibility shield when evolved, lancet freezes stuff and makes it screen-wide at intervals when evolved.
Then you just need enough dps from your weapons and you can kill the reapers. Once you kill one (I think?) you have 'won' and the final unavoidable reaper arrives

Because it was on the map. Once you hit 6 sub-weapons and have "maxed out" your slots, anything extra on the map is a bonus
As you can see I have 11 passives
In fact, the two I circled on row 2 and 3, they are always on the map once you unlock them. I suggest getting as many passives as you can before them to fill the 6 slots. Once you do, you can go on the map to pick them up and have more than 6
The problem with waiting though is that these things are at literal opposites of a map. One piece will be say on the far left. The other part will be on the far right

This video gives one hell of an eye opening sad but true perspective about the bigger gaming companies as a whole in the modern day. As time as gone on, they've been focusing more on the money, the sales numbers, and the overall profit, and wanting these beyond ridiculous, and sometimes borderline impossible, profit and sales goals met, with fear of innovation and/or experimentation, or just no interest in doing either of those things just for money and fear of losing said money off of a flop despite having billions of dollars and talented teams.
Meanwhile, a lot of them keep treating their employees like shit, Activision being the best example of that, booting out some of the old employees that shaped the companies like PopCap and EA that made them good back in the day, made the games and the environments truly fun, innovative, and creative, and it just goes to show how much investors, overly greedy corporate dickheads like Bobby Kotick was that wanna line their pockets in any and every way possible while being complete scumbag human beings, and worrying more about profit than quality have taken a choke hold on the gaming industry as a whole in many cases if not all of them these days
I get it, businesses, as always, need money to operate, but these automatic insane expectations for profit and/or sales numbers for each and every game is one of the big issues. Yet it's funny because some just don't give a damn and throw out half baked buggy garbage that some people still buy into and make the companies think that their predatory monetization is okay to do, when it's never been okay to do to the extent that they do it. Now while there's cases where both the devs and the publishers along with the corporate suits have joint blame, a lot of the time, you end up feeling bad for the devs because they wanna innovate, experiment, and dive into the deep end, but they can't because their companies are too busy playing it safe with billions of dollars that said devs will never get anywhere near, yet they wanna do all these bullshit layoffs and cost cutting like they have a valid excuse to do so a lot of the time. Most of the time, they don't have a valid excuse. Greed is truly the most annoying sin
Gaming jobs are more or less slowly turning into being as stressful, if not more so, and more depressing, agonizing, and annoying like most average jobs like either retail or fast food, except if you couldn't leave for over half a day, were literally always rushed with no breaks, and couldn't live your life at all, because you have to meet crunch deadlines that are insane before you're out the door onto the street

Most randomizers give you a lot of control over how many "locations" there are to check, so in practice it's only as long as you want it to be. And of course a game you've 100%'d before usually doesn't take that long to 100% again; most of the games I've played with Archipealgo randomizer mods took 2-10 hours.
I also happen to be currently developing an Archipelago randomizer for Outer Wilds. My last test playthrough of that took only a couple hours, though some of the people following it are already asking for way more checks to make it take longer lol
