Loki's chaos is spreading. Pursue him across ancient Egypt as you possess mortal heroes with unique weapons and playstyles to take on one of the biggest, most epic VR ARPGs ever.
Pre-Order now and get in-game exclusives, a free download of Asgardās Wrath 1*, a Meta Quest home environment, and an exclusive Asgardās Wrath 2 Character Skin and Tit...
It's out
IGN gave it a 10/10
90 hour game, apparently
Wow
IGN calls it the Tears of the Kingdom of VR
holy hell 90 hour vr game ????
Yep
I need something similar for Harley
BINGY
This was supposed to be a launch title for the Quest 3, but it was delayed

Asgard's Wrath 2 reviewed by Travis Northup on Meta Quest 3. Also available on Meta Quest 2.
Asgardās Wrath 2 is the full-fledged VR open-world RPG Iāve always wanted to play, and for that matter itās one of the best RPGs in any perspective Iāve played in years. With four unique characters and stories, fantastic and satisfying combat, intricate ...
(Also if you bought a Quest 3 you got this for free, the redemption button should be in your email)
What is the best thing to try VR?
Meta thing or Playstation or different
Because there is a thing where you can go and try

If you dont have a ps5 then either a meta quest 2 or 3
If I have which is the best
An Update on The Last of Us Online: https://www.naughtydog.com/blog/an_update_on_the_last_of_us_online
You probably want the Quest 3 as the entry point to VR
The best starter vr headset is the quest 2 because of how cheap it is but if you have the money buy a quest 3
best overall:oculus quest 3
best pc:prolly index
best budget option:quest 2 its ridiculously cheap now
Did you try the Xbox games with quest yet?
i got my quest 2 for like 160-200$? and like its not quest 3 for sure but its a pretty decent headset for the money especialy if you dontt wanna spend the 500$ on a quest 3
Quest 3 might be better than Index for PCVR in the long run, but even now it has very convincing wireless tethering
your PC still needs Ethernet and you need a Wi-Fi 6 router that's nearby, but it can make the experience much nicer since you won't have a cable keeping you in place anymore
wireless is very yuck for vr,even if its good i wouldnt do it tbh
I havenāt yet, but Peach did. Seems to work well.

My little review of Urge: It's a very fun concept but the survival aspects are lacking a bit
For the new seasonal content update, rather than being banned outright, naughty players were sent a gift bag in game, only to be sent a lump of coal. They were banned immediately after accepting it.

Pardon the interruption ā you are now speaking with Veritas Ratio.
It has come to my attention that your broadcast today touched on certain warp arrangements in connection with myself. If I may be so bold...
The current arrangements for this Warp are pitiful! Zero points!
The dissemination and sharing of knowledge, as we...
yeah i slready saw in the star rail thread
We have a star rail thread?
not very active but it exists, lol
Ah right.
hmmmm, nier automata is 60% off. i dont know when ill be able to get to it, but i wonder if i should get it
do you like being depressed by sexy androids?
i could do without the sexy part but otherwise sure
Do you enjoy the entire human race being fucked?
i played fallout
so yes
its moreso a question of whether the game regularly goes to 60 off or if it's an unusually good deal
its been on my wish list for a while but i forgor
Well
I think it does big discounts quite often at this point
Maybe it's better to play the game before checking out what Yoko Taro did in ffxiv
uh. kinda late for that
Oh lol
its not like im completely unfamiliar with the game, i watched a gdq speedrun
weight of the world is a banger
I assume you have a controller
I heard that it can be a bit of a pain to play with k/m but not sure
ok, internet says 60 is pretty good deal, so i'll grab it for future
dw you'll still be confused as hell
I would suggest a controller personally
A PS4 controller is pretty cheap and would work
It's also nice for laid back gathering on ffxiv in my experience
Like I don't like it for playing for real, but when I am doing island stuff or gathering it's pretty nice to have
Twitch rolling back some of their recent changes
Which changes?
artistic nudity changes - for drawings and in person. Seems like twerking is still a thing though
Imo, nudity shouldn't be on a streaming platform, artistic or not. There could be kids watching, you never know.
Oh they rolled them back already? That was like a day
The sort of nudity on Twitch is usually unacceptable but some forms of nudity are kid-friendly.
Also Twitch has a Mature Content option.
they really should just ban kids from twitch.
A topic that is actually worth debating
I honestly think it's fine on twitch, you can already stream games with nudity, the way it is, is just a stream of exceptions on exceptions that make the whole thing really dumb and make no sense.
Just mark the stream as mature, if you are a responsible parent you can enable parental controls and your kid can't see it.
if you aren't a responsible parent no amount of things that Twitch does is gonna keep your kids away from that stuff.
Parents should stop trying to offload parenting to everyone else but them
Consistent rules make everyone safer, and Twitch isn't gonna ban Cyberpunk anytime soon
Incidental nudity like in say cyberpunk or bg3 and stuff, yeah, that's generally allowed. Stuff like full on 18+ games isn't, which is the correct stance. What changed recently is how a streamer was basically full blown nude but only showing the top of their breasts to show the nudity. Which got people copycatting, then a ban for the original person, then the rule change, then people going wild with drawing full on
in the art section, then the rule reversal
To be clear, with the rule change, it would have been fine to draw nudity, but not porn, which I think it would have made the thing more in line with what is allowed with games
However, there also was a great deal of new content that was allowed under the updated policy. Much of the content created has been met with community concern. These are concerns we share. Upon reflection, we have decided that we went too far with this change. Digital depictions of nudity present a unique challengeāAI can be used to create realistic images, and it can be hard to distinguish between digital art and photography.
So, effective today, we are rolling back the artistic nudity changes. Moving forward, depictions of real or fictional nudity wonāt be allowed on Twitch, regardless of the medium. This restriction does not apply to Mature-rated games. You can find emote-specific standards for nudity and sexual content in the Emote Guidelines. We arenāt making other changes to the updated Sexual Content Policy.```
Either ban nudity from games as well, or make the rules more consistent with the rest of the site.
Having it both ways just make the thing confusing and if anything, that's what is gonna make people exposed to stuff they don't want to see.
Yeah that's inconsistent, and I don't like it
By that logic why is it allowed in photorealistic games?
This kind of nitpicking is what brings this kind of nonsense: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/CHIQ8u0e0po
Watch the stream here:
https://piratesoftware.live
#Shorts #Twitch #FreeDumpy
Good thing I downloaded it before then lmao
Actually nevermind, that kind of nonsense is because people at Twitch are dumb as fuck, but I still don't like it.
Nothing to do with my point tho
Also lol opera https://fxtwitter.com/operagxofficial/status/1735614261609611330?s=46&t=bVzXPIZvXYyJJoEkCfgMsQ
@IGN Nintendo when their 30 year old game gets ported for free
Personally i think they did it because they realized advertisers would leave had they kept it on the site.
Yeah but it makes no sense, wouldn't they leave if their ad gets served on a game with nudity?
if that's the problem, they didn't solve it
I honestly doubt that any major game company would appreciate if people port their game without any permission
A lot of payment processers REALLY hate it when their ADs are run on anything involving real nudity
Also
When it comes to games it's significantly easier to just like
say "hey, don't run my ads on mature rated game categories or ones that contain nudity"
Because streamers are gonna label their streams correctly when it comes to playing certain games
https://www.pcgamer.com/baldurs-gate-3-will-never-be-on-game-pass-says-larian-ceo-we-made-a-big-game-so-i-think-theres-a-fair-price-to-be-paid-for-that/ in case anyone was waiting for it
They indeed made a big game
When it comes to games it's significantly easier to just like
say "hey, don't run my ads on mature rated game categories or ones that contain nudity"
Yes but keep in mind, that the rules is that the stream would still have marked as mature, so the thing is essentially identical.
Well not really
Having a real person's things out isn't exactly the same as some game stuff
Plus, even then, the fact that there is a category doesn't mean you'll find all of it very agreeable
I am not sure about the real person stuff, the thing I'm more concerned about is the rollback on the art stuff.
I feel like there is really no excuse to have games allowed mature content, but someone is allowed to draw it
The logic : We don't want people to leave because they want to play Cyberpunk 2077!
Either disallow it on both, or in neither is my 2 cents
Even then like
Advertisers are hilariously fickle and oftentimes there are just double standards that won't make sense
It's the same reason that for example an image of the statue of david would be acceptable yet someone drawing their random OC being nude in the same way will be considered completely unacceptable
Sometimes things are just
unfair and it won't make sense
I think that a statue of david would be disallowed by twitch rules right?
Other than "one thing is popular and therefore gets a free pass"
It would, but I kinda made that as more of an example of
"One would be more socially acceptable than the other despite them both being the same thing"
It would be like if some random indie game had the same nudity on the level of cyberbunk
It would probably not get the same level of leniency that that game gets
Yeah my point is ultimately, if you want to protect kids, and that's the argument they are ginving, it should be one or the other.
Honestly I'd be fine with not allowing nudity in games, I just don't like the weird double standard.
It's less so they want to protect kids and more so they want to protect their bank accounts unfortunately
They follow where the money goes and this flew way too close to the sun in a way that was baffling
Oh yeah that's probably the case, I am still not 100% sure it's consistent even in that case because honestly, a lot of the shit they have been doing is really bad for advertisers.
Them showing like, 3 identical ads in a row will not make me wanna buy the product, in fact I swore I will never buy anything from a few companies for how annoying some of the ads have been
Twitch's ad delivery is complete other mess of a subject that is
honestly really amusing how it got that bad
But most advertisers' mindset is just "statistically even showing people ads for brand recognition and shoving it in as many people's faces as possible evens out even if it turns off the very few % who will hate us for it"
Twitch is such a trash fire for a lot of things, I feel like it's forever since they delivered a decent feature for streamers
The last good update was like
channel points/predictions tbh
Imo watch party was the last okay one and it kinda worked sometimes
...and good lord this launched in 2020. 3 years.
I mean I like the culture most of the time, for how much I complain there are a lot of things it could be doing worse.
They are also not doing a lot of things right tho
Kinda coasting of past success, and I hope that bubble wont burst
I mena amazon owns twitch so if they ever need to bleed money for the sake of keeping it alive they could
"Nope, too much bleeding, leave Korea now"
I had Korean spicy noodles
It became such a big thing that they would have to devote too many resources to maintaining it for years on end, which would remove too much from their capacity for developing new single player games.
https://fxtwitter.com/wario64/status/1735721630775775335? @graceful bridge
always seem kinda dumb for a single player focused company to try and make multiplayer game

even the remake isn't safe from being ported to every device possible
GTA Definitive Trilogy also came to iOS and Android, but Android version has a stuttering issue the iOS version doesn't have and it has worse graphics
the Classic Lighting option, while not perfect, is pretty good still
Which is funny considering the definitive trilogy version of the games are based off of the mobile ports
I seen that. It does look good do you think they will fix the console versions to bring them like the mobile version?
Not surprising, too many devices to target will give you a harder time to optimize.
But yeah its not a bad port from what I can see, although I do expect the usual bad stuff from the Definitive Edition to be lying around.
Well that's because Apple Silicon really is just the same stuff that iPhones have.
So once you make a port for Mac, technically you can port it to iPhone and iPad and tvOS...
maybe, maybe not
I might actually finish playing GTA 3 & Vice on my iPhone.
It plays surprisingly better than the PC port.
LCS supremacy
And that is also the originals included, the controls for these three titles have never felt good for PC to be honest. GTA IV at least fixed that with the exception of the driving to some folks (I actually enjoy the driving)
Its just bizarre how much easier GTA 3 / Vice / SA play in a phone now.
PC controls weren't great back then, especially III/VC which feel quite stiff due to that "player always facing camera" movement
I finished both games this way
I played PS2 GTA 3 but it deleted my save so I will try again but faster
I play on Xbox
At least it lets you do silly stuff like this
I wonder if Vice City Stories fixes this somewhat, I remember playing it on the PSP but I can't remember if it was exactly like VC or something more like San Andreas, I only played GTA on PC ever in my entire life so I'm not the best for comparing the PC controls to something like a controller
Did people like that one?
I don't even know if people remember that one that much
i found her
VCS was never released on PC so it only has classic (i.e. gamepad) controls
VCS is generally considered the worst entry out of all 3D universe games, but truth is, they're all very good anyway
when I mean "worst", it means "it's a 8/10 instead of a 9/10". It's still well worth your time š

And it's over 2 hours
I think that any GOTY awards that go to either BG3, TotK or Alan Wake 2 is at least understandable
I just donāt want BG3 to win literally every GOTY award
Those two games are in a very weird position, I would not have be surprised if BG3 got every single GOTY awards but also it would suck for TotK if they can't win a single GOTY
That said, I do think that BG3 is the right pick in an objective sense for the impact it had and will have on the industry, but the other two pick aren't wrong either
Like, TOTK impact wont really be as big as BOTW's impact
Because of how similar they are
Awards are inherently flawed in some sense that the "best award" goes to only a single nominee(except very rare cases), so that it sometimes make people feel that the winner is simply miles ahead of the others
This year I do feel like AW2 won as much if not more than BG3, I didn't feel like it was a one dog race.
So they did a good job on that front
would I be considered "out of the loop" to not know what Alan Wake was (not just 2, but the whole thing)? cus the game awards last week was literally the first time I've heard about it
Like, the big musical number in the middle of the Game Awards, wasn't BG3 music, it was Alan Wake themed.
They really paid a big homage to that game
People like comparing too much and awards are unfortunately a great fuel for destructive debates and arguments
AW2 released really close to the awards, like a few weeks before, might be why you didn't have time to hear about it
well not just 2, but Alan Wake as a whole
While BG3 had time to be in the news cycles like, 12 times between release and awards show
It's a 13 years old game
That might be why

It got a bit for a resurgence when Control released, since the two titles are related

Also I think they are kinda mixed in with Max Payne and Quantum break
I don't understand how tho
I only know of Max Payne, and even then, I know nothing of it... guess I'm just a rock dweller
I should definitely read up on what's happening before I play AW 2.
I did play control, I have no intention to replay all of the Max Payne games tho and I remember next to nothing about them
And sure as fuck I'm not gonna play Quantum Break, that thing was apparently terrible
stark contrasts I guess
There are so many games out there it's impossible to keep up with everything. But these are at least not obscure: I've personally heard of the Max Paynes forever, saw an LP of the original Alan Wake and later of Control, heard of Quantum Break and then heard it was bad so didn't play it, have been very tempted to try Alan Wake 2 but a hundred other things grabbed my attention first.
There is something beautiful about a very good and established developer, fucking up and releasing a complete stinker, and not because the game is made by commitee but because the game is just too weird and doesn't work as a premise, which is what Quantum Break is.
I love when that happens
ok so I never actually read or watched a proper explanation of this
wtf did Quantum Break do that was so awful
It means that the developers didn't stop trying new things and are instead remaking the same game 40 times ubisoft
I swear I'm constantly like, 5 years behind on releases; I'll be like "huh, I'll need to play 'XYZ'... holy shit that came out 2018
"
I think we all are
it's pretty unusual that I play a game when it's brand new
most of my favorite games I played at least a year or two after they came out (and not just because most of them are indies relying on word of mouth over marketing budget)
Ok I don't remember precisely why it flopped, but I think that Quantum Break was meant to be kinda mixed with a sort of live action tv show.
well I mean, my fav game that I still play fairly regularly originally came out 12 years ago, but there were so many updates and stuff, it's honestly kind of funny to me
I remember the show was a thing
I don't remember if it released at the same time, or it was just the cutscenes between the levels, or probably both
But I seem to remember it ended up being too high concept, and the mechanics way too thin
Seemed like it was too concerned with the live action correlation than being a good game
I would have to read up on it to remember exactly what the problem was tho, it was a bit ago
something something Disney's "Wish"
I think it's also that it was an Xbox one exclusive, which like, didn't help
I'm starting to wonder if I should replay the Max Payne games
I can't not think of that one image of the bargain bin just full of max payne 5
I'm pretty sure it's at 20 years since I played the first one, I should check if 17 years old me had shit taste, and I am completely sure there are so many themes that flew over my head at the time
You probably mean Max Payne 3
It's the last one they made
ah ye
my bad
...wtf am I thinking of then
I thought it was a 5th instalment of a game
...lemme find the image
nope, I'm wrong
zoom
yup that's max payne 3
Oh interesting, I don't have access to the max payne complete collection, I assume because of some weird distribution rights in italy.
Well, fuck that, if I have I'll yarr it, no way I'm fucking with any of that
You on city or knight
City
I had max pane 3 but didn't play much of it
I think I played about half of it or less? It crashed and I think i lost a lot of gamesave then lost interest. It also didn't really have the feel of the others
I have had it with the enemies in this game https://i.imgur.com/wivz3Qg.png
Its the best 3rd perosn shooter everrr

So fun fact about Cyberpunk
in the cutscene where you talk to Royce and Dum Dum
if they try to kill you and V does the thing where she jumps the couch
she'll pull out a pistol
always
even if you do not own a pistol
it will put one in your hand
not even in your inventory, it is a phantom weapon, it will disappear if you change weapons
I left my pistol at home bc I was doing a melee build and noticed this ghost weapon had been magically placed in my hand only to vanish forever when I pulled out my bat
that's so cool

PEOPLE DONT LIKE THE BATMOBILE ??????
this is the coolest cutscene ever put into a video game https://youtu.be/vdXFRlng5bI?feature=shared
Batman rescues the officer and then Evens the Odds
Its fun but is way overused
Youll find out when you do riddlers sidequest
the Knight batmobile is way better than Gotham Knights vehicles
Not a very high bar....
sidequests in general will do that
if you don't want a game to overstay its welcome, stick to the main path
(if that requires too much grinding, lower the difficulty)
Aren't there also a lot of boss fights/sections that require the batmobile in Knight? I think that's why people generally disliked it and say it gets too overused
The riddler things probably don't help
Problem with knight is
||you have to get 100% to get the true ending||
Yeah. Most of the side character villian fights are in the batmobile
Deathstrokes was probably the most offensive given he had an actual fight in origins
Maybe spoil tag that just in case but yeah that's what I heard as the reason for people ''hating'' the batmobile
Not so much hating the batmobile itself just it's a mechanic that seems to be overused and injected into sections where it probably would've been better without it

the first 2 are good but the 3rd is seriously the best 3rd person shooter ever. the first 2 are being remade too
Show me some
It's too inappropriate for Manechat but see Hisashi Ouchi before his death
He received seventeen whole sieverts (not microsoeverts) and died after three months of intense care by the world's best professionals
His DNA straight up broke down and dead cells began to slough off. He was kept alive with the help of stem cell donations and other procedures
Wow
There's a myth that he was forcibly kept alive against his will but it turns out he did ask and fight for it
After a significant enough dose of radiation the cells fall off all the way to the bone
Oh, also keep in mind you might see a picture of a guy with all four of his limbs suspended.
This photo is wrongly labeled as Hisashi Ouchi. It's actually someone else suffering from a separate radiation poisoning incident
Apparently you can make Raiden vomit by rolling in a barrel for too long
Completely unnecessary? Yes.
Kinda gross? Yes.
Is this exactly what I expect from Kojima? ABSOLUTELY.
god i should play MGS 5
Looking into some of the lore of Urge, perhaps there is more to the game than first seen. It is too easy to brush it off as a baseless survival game.

is that the CS:GO AK
LES GO šššš
good thing it runs on the fox engine
that thing uses black magic, it can run on anything and look photoreal
me: hears 5 seconds of It Has To Be This Way
brain: YOU SHOULD FIGHT ARMSTRONG ON REVENGENCE DIFFICULTY N O W! āļø
you know what, if i can get through MGR on Hard without getting bodied too hard I'll try Very Hard again
Get all the arm collectibles first
It unlocks an upgrade for unlimited rage which is almost necessary to perfect score boss fights
I diiiid maybe cheat a little and grab a save with all unlocks

Look, the records themselves are still on the defaults, I just didn't want to grind for hours to upgrade everything
MGR is fun as a burst game, not as a grind game
ackshually
āļø Kojima wasn't involved in Rising at all, the director is Kenji Saito!
but yes that's exactly the type of attention to detail that would be included in a Kojumbo game
I should replay Rising again just to see how I'd do now, I remember Sam's DLC was borderline impossible for me at first
I don't know if it was just my perception but MGSV is pretty damn well optimized so there shouldn't be any issues, I remember playing Phantom Pain on a super potato laptop and it actually ran and looked pretty decently
trying to do every boss in mgr s rank no damage on a keyboard was hell but worth it
I know but it is absolutely a Kojima move
Plus like, if you weren't told that Kojima wasn't involved, would you even notice?
Absolutely I would this is mainly a Platinum game before it is a Kojima Productions game, Kojima was never involved in it at all but members of the team that made previous MGS games were
sort of the entire project was exciting for the devs because Kojima had no direct involvement, he was making Peace Walker at the time
It's interesting because this game was very close to being cancelled because the KojiPro devs couldn't figure out the action gameplay stuff before they handed it out to Platinum
also if I play this game again I have to do it with mods for sure
Hand to hand, the basis of all combat. Only a fool trusts his life to a weapon
Supposedly all bosses are defeatable with this mod so it shouldn't be a problem
Kojumbo šš
i like how stealth is simultaniously actually pretty useful and completely useless in mgr
on the one hand, you can instant kill minor goons and go past IR cameras without any fuss
on the other, you are a death blender on legs, just kill everything
Asia: Be a lily on a lake
Hclegend: Be a death blender on legs
i have a way with words
Stealth in rising really felt like something they put in just as a formality because it's pretty non-viable since you're missing out on combat and points, I remember people praised Blade Wolf's stealth sections but they were pretty basic, I do kind of wish Rising had more stealth options just to have that interesting choice in approach like you have with MGSV where you can just go full rambo mode but it probably would've been much for a game that was on the brink of cancellation
I appreciate the cardboard box being in the game and being functional as always, there's even a lot of enemies that hide from you in cardboard boxes
I mean, it is useful in Mistral's mission where you have all those IR sensors
Just walk through them
i think there's one that has a camera at the end, so if that spots you moving you get shot but aside from that you can just boxwalk through it
or drumcan walk if you're so inclined
just don't try to roll too much... see #1032716748887179434 message
I found and watched investigation about The Day Before development, this story is really sad. Brothers Gotovtsev's hired a bunch of hypermotivated junior game devs, with cheap Russian salary, and exploited them all 5 years. Working without weekends and holidays, reworks because brothers played "GTA", "Spider-Man" and gave orders do like in GTA, Spider-Man, other AAA games, reworks of everything because something looks like too much cheap for AAA game. Suppression of creative freedom, fire for burnout for 3 months without salary and severance pay, literally middle of 19th century. And all team was ready to save The Day Before like No Man's Sky, but Fntastic was dismissed. Sad that this material on Russian, so I can't send it
I thought it was an ingenious scam, but I overrated leadership of Fntastic
Sounds like the same shit that the public knows about has happened behind closed doors of a lot of AAA game developers
Oh, and I forgot, team had only 5 testers for MMO game, no mass tests, no iternal beta tests
Decision make The Day Before a MMO was made in 2021 after 3 years of development
Studio changed Unreal Engine 4 to 5 in the middle of development, even changed 5.1 version to 5.2 for several weeks, maybe months before release
And Fntastic restricted to ask any help from UE 5 specialists, even from publisher MyTona
Volunteers who wanted to help testing The Day Before was sent to other Fntastic game, which died because cringe update, everyone who asked were sent away from volunteering
I saw the trailer and then the game and I was thinking how they made a trailer
You are too young
You don't know about WATCH DOGS 1

Damn, in next year will be 10 years after Watch Dogs release
I feel old
š“
I remember being blown away by the premise of Watch Dogs and thinking this is where games peak this right here
but in my defense I was a literal child and I thought the cool hackerman was cool
I was 10 when Watch Dogs was released, but I was playing Minecraft and Dota 2. So I heard about Watch Dogs from YT, when downgrade happened
Damn, I was really playing Dota 2 when I was 10
Typical CIS childhood

Hey did you try VR
I was later told by a YTer that Watch Dogs 2 was surprisingly great, but after 1's mediocrity no one was paying attention to it
never played any of the WDs myself, I was already kinda sick of open worlds by the time those happened

you know, I used to be someone who would run with an uncapped fps. but now I kinda realize having a consistent fps and not having my hardware work needlessly is better.
You want your FPS to be exactly your refresh rate
there is a point,responsiveness
id say like even if ur on 60hz 80fps-120fps should be a good idea to run at
latency is not always tied to framerate
This is a game-by-game thing, and ideally games run inputs separately from graphics
120 fps does feel nice. But it all depends on the game.
Some I'm still fine with being at 30
enable VRR and cap framerate to 3 below your refresh rate (or enable Reflex in the game if supported)
VRR being G-Sync/FreeSync
I don't have a G-sync monitor
I have a cheap Hitachi TV
With the weird ass games I want to play though dropping to 20 fps is normal so what does it even matter
VRR is arguably one of the best things to have happened in gaming in the last 10 years
(that and HDR, but HDR support is way more spotty as of 2023...)
I'm sure it's great but I won't be getting a monitor with it anytime soon
Well, I finally did something productive after a period of no motivation. I finally finished Mario Wonder. I didn't finish it 100%, and honestly, I'm not sure if I'll go for 100%, considering that, I don't know how potentially torturous getting the rest of the collectibles is gonna be, and even more so for just doing anything in the Special World. The couple of levels I've experienced in there feel like Mario Galaxy Perfect Run levels of brutal. I'll figure that out in due time
Overall though, it was one of the best Mario games in a long while and a definite fresh facelift that the main 2D games needed after so many New Super Mario Bros games in the last nearly 15 years. I would definitely want them to keep a lot they have going on in the gameplay department for the game. The physics, the wacky antics that change the level and keep things fresh to where it doesn't feel repetitive, the badges, all of that for sure should stay in my opinion. If they can get this wacky at the late stages of the Switch's run as the newest console, then I would hope they keep experimenting with different art styles and gameplay styles for future 2D games. Overall, for me, this was a solid and fun game that was just an overall breath of fresh air and eye candy visually through the entire thing. For those in here who haven't gotten it yet, and may do so soon, trust me, it's worth it. For those on the fence about it, I can honestly say you won't regret it
Now, for the next Mario game, it's most likely gonna be another 3D title, also most likely on whatever Nintendo's next console is gonna be. Personally, I've been predicting a 2024 announcement and a 2025 launch. We'll see what happens obviously, but realistically, that would make a lot of sense, what with them having seemingly some more big plans for Switch titles at least during the first half of the year, 2025 for the next console would make sense. If I could want anything in terms of the next games, they definitely should continue the formula inspired by Mario Odyssey. Not copy paste mind you, but let's say, maybe Mario Odyssey levels of open world feeling maps with objectives with some wacky Mario Wonder level goofy stuff to go along with it. Not to mention, of course, unique bosses like Mario Wonder has, as well as more new power ups that are funny as hell. All we can do is hope, but those are my thoughts
I'm glad you like it.

Yeah, a game preorder is an interest-free loan you pay in exchange for a future game which you know little about because it's not even made yet
Why the fuck did pre orders even become a thing
Well "what if we could have the money now so we can keep developing instead of cancelling the project" is a reasonable stance
That makes a bit of sense
Problem is the industry heavily abuses it and provides few guarantees that you would expect in the case of other non-entertainment products
Yeah
You judge based off of trailers and what a company says
And then get Cyberpunk
the serious answer is because back when games were physical, it was completely legitimate to pre-order a physical good to guarantee you'd get a copy on release day
of course in that era the internet was too young to support all the DLCs and post-release patching we see today, so companies operated as if the release day version was the only version they'd ever get because it was
They had similar risks, though less pronounced because of the incentive to release right the first time
yep, the possibility of the game not being that good was still there, but for a developer/publisher with a good tracker record it was a much more reasonable risk to take
but we now live in a world where every publisher that ever had that good will has since squandered it at least once
at least personally I don't think I heard of anyone being burned by a preorder, in the sense of it being clearly a bad decision, until things were more digital
sometimes they just didn't like the game as much as they hoped but only to the same degree as any other game purchase since you can't be 100% sure without playing it yourself
Yeah
oh yeah, and back then demos were more common
just a completely different environment
Yeah, even when digital copies weren't a thing, I've bought games I didn't like and then you're just kinda stuck with them. I guess the difference here is mostly that games nowadays sometimes simply feel unfinished/unpolished.
yep, the "I paid for a sandwich and got 3 pickles" experience is very much a modern trend
or at least feeling that way is
š“
Yeah, before it was more like, "I bought a tuna sandwich, I got a tuna sandwich, but turns out I don't like tuna sandwiches
" (I love tuna sandwiches, tho XD)
yet another reason for it is that AAA dev costs and dev time spiraled out of control
so the projects people feel burned by are often more like "you got ten chicken sandwiches but all of them are either burned or raw so you can't eat any"
Speaking of game purchases, last month I bought the Spyro reignited trilogy because I never played the Spyro games and they've been really good. I'm on the third one now
maybe No Man's Sky (on day one) was more a case of "I ordered one sandwich and I got 10 loaves of bread with nothing on them?"
this is a fun analogy to torture
I should probably try Spyro one of these days, but last time I had the cartoony platformer itch I bought A Hat in Time and then randomized it to death so that's good for a while
I still have to play that ps1 looking platformer with the goat with the big butt all of you were going crazy a few weeks ago
I picked up all 3 spyro games for like...17-18 USD, so that was a pretty good deal.
Wut?
My computer fucking crashes when I try to run Pseudoregalia
There's actually a setting to put pants on her
Do you think that not activating that will be an incentive in the next GDQ?
I wonder if it'll be in GDQ at all
already was: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idaCHH0Q2BQ
Oh, interesting
I don't recall if it had any incentive though
I mean I'm not gonna watch it before I play it, but I thought it could get there, it actually got pretty big when it released
yeah, it has enough speedrunning going on that it would've been weird if it didn't show up eventually
I must say, it's a bold choice to inspire yourself to PS1 3d aesthetic
I'm from that generation of consoles myself and even I don't have much nostalgia for blocky aesthetics
They have a few settings that make the game look a bit cleaner and more tolerable
I always think of it as N64 aesthetic but that's probably down to what games we played when
I mean, the models didn't look that different between consoles
It was around what the hardware could support at the time, not really a choice
also because Zelda's probably a more useful comparison point than Resident Evil (again, just the games I've played on those two consoles, counting emulation)
It does feel a lot like Ocarina of Time
I think I described it to Nire as one big OoT dungeon with more platforming and without a map
I personally don't dig the PS1/N64 aesthethic too much. I have a lot of fondness the older pixel art games
(personally I have no strong attachment to or dislike of any of these art styles)
I am meh on pixel art as well TBH, it's okay, better than the 3d from the time at least
Yeah, it's all personal preference, tbh.
I'm having a lot of fun with Crystal Project right now
It's a classic final fantasy style RPG with platforming and metroidvania elements. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1637730/Crystal_Project/
Explore the world, find Crystals, and fulfill the prophecy to bring balance to the land of Sequoia....Or maybe you'd rather spend your time collecting neat equipment and artifacts? BG3 should have Aasimar.
I meant as a playable race
if you've got Tieflings you should have Aasimar. it only makes sense.
Tieflings are a default class from the Player's Handbook though, Aasimars aren't. A more apt comparison would be if you have Githyanki than you should've had Aasimar.
In any case, I agree 100%. Also, there were apparently a LOT more races planned, including Warforged, Genasi, Tritons, Yuan-Ti Purebloods, Firbolgs, and Aasimars.
I'm not very familiar with 5e material but if this is the case then I suppose my commentary becomes "If the default player's handbook had tieflings, it should have had aasimar"
My current party is in a githyanki stronghold and the environment is literally stellar
In BG3, or in a campaign?
Campaign

TMZ confirms: 'Max Payne' Voice Actor James McCaffrey Dead at 65 After Cancer Battle https://www.tmz.com/2023/12/18/max-payne-star-james-mccaffrey-dead-dies-cancer/
RIP
Don't confuse James McCaffrey with John McCafe
McCafe
Yes he made the antivirus
Iām afraid McCafe is the coffee chain of McDonalds, thatās McAfee :p (unless if youāre indeed joking)
They do sound similar though.
Same thing, I just got the spelling wrong
Anyways, this must be so coincidential.
Because just yesterday I thrifted Max Payne, and around the time I only started my campaign today, James McCaffrey is no longer with us.
1 and 2 are currently being remastered.
i'm so bad at stealth lmao
Hopefully he has recorded the lines for the remakes.
Counterargument, the story has a ||prominent aasimar character that is basically a half God and having playable aasimar would have lessened the impact of said character to an extent||
Played any new games recently?
caught bro napping xD xD xD
I'm mostly just been absorbed in Warframe new stuff, but I did start Alan Wake remastered
Oooooh what Tenno do you use?
I have all of them at this point (the new one is in the forge, should be ready in like 12 hours)
For the quest I went with protea because she's fun
Nice
Protea and Wisp are my 2 favourite, with Gara as a close 3rd
Kullervo is also nice
The eximus update destroyed my boy Limbo
But I still quite like a lot of the frames. Octavia and Hildryn are my favs now
Which is why this art made me really happy lol
That's wonderful
Hildryn prime is also gorgeous, it's probably one of my favourite prime updates
Not a fan of the helmet but you can easly swap that out, but the whole rest just screams barbarian queen and I'm all for it
Yeah I got the prime access for Hildryn because of how much I like her
Octavia's is unfortunately like 500 years away or however prime release schedules work
I had every (obtainable) prime last year but I'm behind now.
Gauss prime is next and he's also looking very good
And most importantly, after Gauss it's Protea prime
Gauss is neat but it's that rifle I'm after lol
Also big agree on the acceltra
After the Kuva Bramma nerfs the Acceltra has been my go to
(I wish DE would stop nerfing all my stuff :<)
I think it falls behind when you go against Steel Path level stuff, but anything that's not that it just feels very good to use
I hate steel path anyways tbh, I don't really like "hard" content in Warframe
Hopefully the Prime variant gets the bump it needs to be competitive in SP as well
Eidolon Hunts and Steel Path are both kinda not my bag.
I just trade for stuff I need from them.
I used to hate it, but with some frames it's pretty fun.
Like, some of them with the right build, the normal path content is just way too easy
I can't remember what frame I used for steel path
Titania Prime I think?
Titania is definitely a good one
Running around in her ult with her pistols was the only way I had the dps for SP
because I also dont use rivens, they annoy me
I use them very rarely
Like, if i happen to roll one for a weapon I like, might as well
But most of the time I pretty much ignore them
Right now the easy steel path stuff is with some of the new incranon weapons
Maybe with Wisp, or another very resiliant frame, like revenant
Those can pretty much sleepwalk through steelpath
Oh and Styanax
He's insane
Ok so, in the Zariman update, they released weapons that, if you get headshots, they can transform in a different form
And some of them are a bit insane
0_0
And in the Duviri update, they released incarnorn additions to older weapons
That basically turn older stuff into incranon weapons
Right now the meta is stuff like the fucking braton, or the boar
IF you can believe it
or the goddamn ceramic dagger
Sadly no Sybaris
Yet
There is a very good one for the miter tho which is funny
I had to craft it again because I sold that piece of junk years ago
At any rate the new team is doing a lot of great things with the game
Since Rebb became creative director and Pablo game director, the game just became better on all fronts
Like, in the recent update they released this version of intensify and I hope we see a lot more mods like this, this is such an interesting design space for the game
Terraria has christmas buns XD

the percentage of games I played vs the games I bought in 2023 must be disappointingly low
I played only 16 games and bought like 50
Well stop it
can't DX
I always feel like "ooooh I really wanna play this" and then I just forget about it and never get around to playing them
this is part of the reason I often don't buy a game until the moment I am in the mood to play it
I also spent a stupid amount of time playing valorant this year
and some games off steam
I bought 24 games in 2023 and played more than that
i played like. 3 games total.
bc 95% of my gamin time has been spent in ff14

god. Who gave I Was a Teenage Exocolonist the right to be this good.
Probably because 70% of games are on Windows, but have found a few ways around in playing it on macOS without crossover.
Posted it earlier but it was sad to see
The Max Payne series is one of my faviourite
My % aren't reliable because I leave games open a lot, but this sounds correct
X4 foundation? What's that?
Max Payne is a series that Rockstar has long since forgotten
That sounds fun
Like you can have fleet of npcs while you fly a badass carriers
unfortunately neither CP, Dead Space or Jedi Survivor are showing on my steam because I played them... elsewhere
Or whole trade fleets that operate by themselves

I wonder why steam recap doesn't show just plain hours played
for some reason they decided to go with sessions and percentages
Probably because some people were shocked the amounts of hours played.
The stuff you get changes very fast as you go through the game so it's hard to recommend builds, just know that shoulder mounter rocket launchers and shotguns are very good in general and you wont be disappointed

Tbf. Session is just booting up a game
i am very indecisive
Terraria completed on Master Mode
what class?
my one and only completed master mode playthrough was on ranger
because ranger is stupidly easy and OP
it's not my favorite class though
maybe second favorite
Kind of swapped between classes depending on the boss. Last boss I did as melee and my friend was a mage.
ohhh you were doing multiplayer?
I don't like switching classes myself because you have to pretty much regrind all your gear
I swear I'm way worse at multiplayer terraria because the boss AI throws me off when it switches targets and stuff
I'm better at singleplayer because of that
Yeee, me and my friend were doing a semi-blind run on Master Mode. I played it once before and got to Hardmode, but not much beyond that.
Hardmode and beyond was pretty much all blind XD After we killed the last boss we did start looking up things to see what we missed.
hot damn, I'm surprised you got through master mode blind
took me at least 5 expert playthroughs to finally beat master XD
AT LEAST
and also a lot of pain and struggling
Right now we're trying to get all the OP weapons and just playing around XD
Yeah, it was a challenge!
though quite a few bosses require you to completely change your strategy in master mode compared to expert mode
that's what I struggled with the most
I remember I got shitstomped by brain like 7 times before I realized I had to approach it differently
(I just spammed it to death with nades XD)
We didn't get Brain, we got zeh wooorm
oh, I don't like the corruption
oh, another example were the mecha bosses. I got bonked so many times by them until I got that hell horse mount and make a looooooooong platform
and I just... ran away from them
while blasting
whereas in expert I actually dodged and stuff
also I went for the pussy ass maximum armor build XD on a ranger
I got the pirate ship mount fairly early and that was a game changer, tbh
oh yeah, pirate mount helps a ton
but you get the hell horse mount at WoF so that's even earlier
and I pretty much couldn't beat mechas without it
Don't think we ever got that, I don't remember a hell horse mount
The Goat Skull is a Hardmode mount-summoning item dropped by the Wall of Flesh in Master Mode with a 25*1/4 (25%) chance to drop. When used, it summons a rideable Goat Mount which allows the mounted player to perform a double jump, similar to the Cloud in a Bottle.
Once a high speed is reached, the Goat Mount leaves a fire trail behind, and from...
it's basically a way better version of the unicorn
and it's much easier to get
Aah, nice.
The Worm accessory seems so...mandatory though XD Like, 17% damage reduction. That never came off.
yeah, scarf/brain are pretty much one of the best accessories in the game
I do like brain more though
Is brain accessory also 17% DR?
it's 17% miss chance
Ah, that's also pretty powerful.
yeah, I like miss chance more
it's better for hard hitting attacks
whereas DR is better for lots of small ones
Yeh, helps mitigate chip damage a lot.
so brain is like better against bosses whereas scarf is better vs mobs
at least I think so
plus you can stack evasion with ninja gear and hallowed armor
pretty insane strat
works really well against deathray
Some bosses also have a lot of smaller hits, which high defense/DR works really well against.
I rewatched the Paper Mario TTYD Remaster/Remake trailer and noticed that the art style has been paperified even harder than the original was.
It looks great
It really does
It takes all the best parts of the modern Paper Mario games and uses it to their fullest to lovingly recreate everything in TTYD.
Nintendo has re-recorded Mario's lines for a microgame in WarioWare: Move It! Are other Mario re-releases next?

Ironically rumor is part of the reason they gave him his new role is so they could put in his contract he cant do cameo videos.
oh boy
Lol
Stop paying attention to overwatch and actiblizzard...
I would be so curious to know OW numbers now
On one hand, everyone seems to hate it, but on the other, it's free to play now so maybe more people are playing it, who knows.
I would love to be a fly on the wall in those meetings
They must be either surprisingly positive or actually harrowing, I can't see an inbetween
ha a Scout skin for Tracer would be funny
Graphic Design is my passion.
I do hope they do something with that engine though.
Same with Ubisoft's MASSIVE engine.
They're impressive engines to each their own.
Just beat Cyberpunk :D
...this cant be true
i loved his videos
What sort of videos did they make?
fallout videos
a lot of challenge videos in particular
Welcome to Mitten Squad! This channel features predominantly Fallout-related content, though videos about other games may appear from time to time. If you've ever thought "Could someone beat a Fallout game by doing something really stupid?", odds are you've come to the right place.
Despite what the channel name may imply, it's only one person ...
Mitten squad jumpstarted the YouTube trend of random dumb challenge game videos, mostly focused on Bethesda games
His were very fun to watch and well made
He was very good and its sad to see his alcohol addiction take his life...
Yep, this is definitely where the industry is headed next in terms of a profitable trend considering it worked wonders for Fortnite. COD and Fall Guys followed suit, and now we can add Overwatch 2 to the list
Huge insomniac leak dropped - as in gta 6 leak scale huge
Pre release footage of wolverine, employee info (smh), and plans for future games (spider man 3, wolverine, new ips, x men)
You could probably search it up on reddit and twitter, don't want to post anything here
Yeah... story, cast info, apparently a demo build is out there somewhere
Insomniac's entire release schedule for the next decade got leaked too
So it just said new IPs. Jesus, if this is true, man, videogame companies should just shadow drop stuff from now on, because clearly the Internet is way faster than them at revealing their information than them these days. The internet gets so dedicated that they don't stop until they have the information they want
Yeah, a ransomware group hacked them about a week ago
And demanded payment
Damn, that's gotta be fucking depressing
Oh God, yeah, I forgot about that shit. Like, man, these are the kind of people that fuck things up for everyone. I mean, to be fair, I'm not surprised about Spiderman 3 at all. Insomniac has once again turned something they've been tasked with into a kickass juggernaut of a series worth playing, but the other ones, yeah, it's depressing to find out about those in such an anti climatic and overall malicious way that they never intended. I do hope Insomniac knocks all of those games out of the park like they have with Spiderman though. I mean, clearly Marvel sees a good studio in them if those leaks are right and they trust them with their other IPs like Wolverine and X-Men
About 1.6TB of data was put out
That's just gut wrenching =/
Also a ton of personal info, so many employees have just been doxxed
Aw motherfucker...
I hope those fuckers are found, sued into the ground for that, and also thrown in prison on top of it
Of course fuckers like that go after one of the few more well known studios left in today's gaming industry that are actually good with their games quality wise and treat every game and every IP with respect, probably being true fans of Marvel themselves
Yeah the employee personal info including passports is crossing a line
Right before the holidays too
There's different types of games. The types that are stable, not completely broken, and one hell of a good story and love letter to the people that play the games, like Insomniac makes, the games that start off broken but then get soon fixed, so rough start and then smooth sailing, and then there's the typical overly broken microtransaction simulator yearly release games or general completely broken and unplayable AAA games not worth sinking time and money into
Oh well... on the other hand, from what I've seen they were absolutely cooking
Hopefully this doesn't severely impact development that much
Also, venom game in 2025 š
https://s.team/y23/cdqrkrff?l=english didn't play much this year but here's my review
really? i thought mine's just a rookie number
september was my 1st attempt and i lost that save file cause DS3 has no cloud save somehow, then october was my 2nd run and achievement hunt
The median on Steam is 16 achievements, 4 games, and 5 days in a row
That means half of all users have numbers smaller than that
ah i see
I think the median includes a ton of people who don't play anymore, so it might be skewed
Steam highlights and yeaa that's not suprising
Oh wow
def been a hyperfixation for awhile
and also did a save everyone run with every playable character to prove it was possible
each run was like 3-8 hours each so :3
the authentic transgender exprience of casting blood magic and defiling corpses
tiny bit of gaming
what about it?
i just see it pop up all the time whenever a friend is playing terraria
it being included in the games section is funni
i mean its a completely seperate game so it makes sense
also me hours bc steam doenst show it on the wrapped
somehow i snipped the snipping tool?
yea sure why not
Saw some youtubers play that. Game's fucked
Best train sim I have ever played honestly
I have lost faith in all AAA games today. Indie is the way to go to have fun.
I swear to god this new amongus collab weapon evolution in VS is singlehandedly the most broken item in the entire game
there's still a couple of good AAA but honestly you shouldn't be holding your breath for new AAA game releases. Don't fall for the hype and marketing
I'm more hyped for the updates of Urge than any AAA game
Ransomware Group Leaks Over 1.3 Million Files In Major Insomniac Hack
https://insider-gaming.com/ransomware-group-leaks-over-1-3-million-files-in-insomniac-hack/
i mean fall guys didnt exactly jump on a trend of doing collabs, they had been doing it from the start for the most part
fort as well did it like really early on as well
which had been like their whole plan since 2017
every other game had pretty much started jumping on the collab thing after they had done it to begin with
ill probably stick with the games i already play lol
Best ad of PC and piracy
Pf yes
I feel you, random citizen
The Insomniac data breach has revealed Sony has signed a deal with Marvel to make exclusive X-Men games until the end of 2035. https://bit.ly/41sHkgG
Let's gooo
Almost nothing has changed compared to last year for me
me, looking at the new Vampire Survivors DLC: "I don't need it."
amogus
ME: I NEEEEEED IIIIIT
Creaminstaller:
hey, official amogus collab is cool too y'know
Creaminstaller:
my steam review was laughable lol
Oh huh, Discord shortens image links now, neat
Creaminstaller is the consequence of devs putting the DLC data in the base game and charging people to play the stuff already on their computer
wait so you can just pirate the DLC?
... my brother in christ, it's two dollars
well, if they did an oops, it's on them, but you know
two bucks
Yeah, I would not pirate the among us DLC for Vampire Survivors
But I might for the Crusader Kings DLC
i'm not saying i'd judge if you did but
i totally would for a game like Vamp Survivors
It is an indie game and a very cheap DLC

Didn't know you had Darktide.
Makes sense for triple a games.
Theyāre only getting more and more expensive to produce big titles.
Frankly, games have been over 60$ for a while now
even if the "base game" was 60$
they'd just lock all the content behind some stupid season pass or ultimate edition or whatever other bullshit that'd cost you an extra 10 to 40 dollars anyways
Smart.
A friend got it for me for Christmas so four of us could play together. It's pretty fun!
Not for me. I don't buy games over thirty dollars.
What game has Everypony been playing recently?
Lethal Company
Cyberpunk, Rainbow 6 Siege
A mix of things
Finishing up SMRPG, started up LttP, and sprinkled in with Master Duel and Darktide

I need to play more pokemon
WoW, D4, cyberpunk
Man, Sony better hope they don't do that with their game prices if they wanna stay afloat. People will not approve of that literally ever. Sure, that's still three years away, but still. Fuck that whole heartedly. People can barely afford new games right now as it is. If that does happen, I would hope to see one of the biggest bouts of backlash I've ever seen honestly, because that would be nothing short of bullshit and clear signs of bullshit greed
Waiting for another industry collapse any year now
Once I'm done with Secret Santa, I'll be playing Dyson Sphere Program.
I'm playing my dad's favorite game Golden eye
in tears of the kingdom.

it's out!
