Basic character colors locked behind in game currency, currency that you CAN unlock but is incredibly limited and there's not a sustainable or easily accessible way of getting to it because you're at the mercy of whenever Capcom decides to add events that allow you to even get that currency, the other premium in game currency is only purchasable in extremely odd numbers that pretty much force you to purchase more than you want and leave you with leftover currency you can do absolutely nothing with, and this premium currency will eventually run out after a set number of days so it's not even permanent, and the new costumes cost more than the game in total and according to people who did the 'math' looking at some special editions of the game the costumes actually cost more than they do there

Assets need to load on the fly and it needs a very fast solid state solution, basically an nvme for the entirety of the game. Otherwise you'll get micro-stutter hell.

The transitions are one of the best qualities of that trailer, I will freely admit.

But the bigger the game is and the more resources it uses from the engine, the more performance-heavy it becomes, which means less players are gonna be able to play it.

Thus you need a balance.

If the engine truly does give developers next-level tools to create bigger and better games, then I will freely admit that I was wrong and that I am a dumb-dumb. All I was pointing out was that the graphics, which admittedly aren't everything, aren't as impressive as other engines on the market. there are so many different kinds of "hard"

I think for me RE0's biggest problems were parts where it's impossible to avoid taking damage (the healing supply was so tight I'd regularly reset on taking any avoidable damage), and the scripted temporary losses of one of the two characters including inventory (which were often instant reload points because ammo's too tight to get by without your full arsenal)

You don't have to be particularly smart to play these games it's just the nature and design of these games to let you explore and uncover stuff with the new tools and items you acquire as you go through the game
if there's one thing I could change about RE1 it would be retroactively adding RE2R's map where it shows any items you uncovered and didn't pick up and any door locks, it would make the experience of going through the areas much better because even though this game started that design choice of showing you areas you haven't cleared it still doesn't tell you which doors require which keys and that's the kind of stuff I wouldn't be able to remember and I understand that feeling

when I play a game start to finish in a short timespan I can often remember where most of those keys go, but when you're not sure about one or two of them it's just not interesting to go back and double-check several doors, and most of us are going to get interrupted and take breaks so our memory of that minutiae won't be good regardless
