Also the game finally opened up after like, 5 hours or something which was mostly the introduction before the game actually started for real so I think that entire section was enough mandatory story before finally cutting you loose and letting you do whatever you want

Most mods being worked on right now are for MGS3 unfortunately, I hope more people will mod 1 and 2 to make them the definitive way to play too, there's already some mods that fix stuff like the resolution, the awful audio from this collection, and some other bugs that Konami didn't bother to fix and even properly remastering MGS1 with better resolution and visuals, the master collection looks worse than the PS1 version

I had to use mgs2 v fix to remap the controls to what I'm currently using on MGS2 and seems like you have to do a whole thing to custom remap them yourself but it's better than Konami not even supporting keyboard and mouse on this master collection

I actually played and I think I still have Peace Walker on my PSP emulator with a 60 frames mod because I unfortunately can't emulate the HD collection and Peace Walker is still not ported yet and the difference it makes
Having played that game at 20 frames and on the tiny PSP screen for dozens and dozens of hours as a kid and then seeing it in almost full glory still at low res but at least with 60 frames is beautiful

The last cop related quest I remember is one I randomly found driving around where these cops were beating up this corpo and I wanted to find out what was going on and let the guy go, then I looked up the quest to see if there maybe were any other paths and found out the corpo getting beat up was a piece of shit selling hacked BDs intentionally so I saved him and killed the cops but I at least took all of his money in return
He was getting beat up because I think one of the cops' daughter or something was put in a coma because of one of his BDs which is pretty fucked up so I did end up killing the cops unfortunately because there was no other way I could've asked them to go away but I did at least take all of his cash

Not really? The bd implants take all the data they can get, your senses just don't notice them or our brains block them out. It's not just pulling from human ears or our memory if the events, it's live recording and also using your cybernetic implants to boost what it records
