Ocarina of Time has a fun system for dynamic loading of rooms
The moment you move closer, you're transported into a near identical room
purp
why are you ourple
I thought you meant the cutscene that plays when you enter some rooms but that would be more regular loading than dynamic loading
It's not a cutscene. The room is loaded beforehand
You're just moved to the room when you approach
Distant rooms are deloaded to save memory
I'm playing the Archipelago randomizer with Manechat friends and it allows me to choose or randomize things like my colors
oh neato
and it's illegal to play a randomizer with the default skin /s
does the rupee sprite take it's colour from Link's tunic colour ?
I played the default skin first time
or did you make that ourple too
No I made them all purple because it's the best color
oh cool
I didn't make the hearts purple because red is fine for HP
purple is for additional health bars
I'm surprised there isn't a purple tunic in a Zelda game considering purple is sort of the royal color in the games
outside of 4 swords anyways
too similar to Zelda?
Zelda in Breath of the Wild 3 when
purple was a royal colour irl as well
cause it was hard to get
so you needed to be wealthy to get it
yeah it came from snail shells i remembered that
wow
the romans copied the greeks but then the byzantines copied the romans
is everyone just copying each other
to some extent, yes
I believe the Greeks borrowed some stuff from Egyptians and Babylonians and Sumerians, but I'm not familiar with that part of history
Fun fact
It was also less purple when it was new
The colour-fast (non-fading) dye was an item of luxury trade, prized by Romans, who used it to colour ceremonial robes. Used as a dye, the color shifts from blue (peak absorption at 590 nm, which is yellow-orange) to reddish-purple (peak absorption at 520 nm, which is green). It is believed that the intensity of the purple hue improved rather than faded as the dyed cloth aged.
The Byzantine empire considered itself the last remaining continuous part of the Roman Empire.
That's one reason there's a schism between Orthodox and Catholic Christians
The Catholic pope crowns the Holy Roman Empire (which was German and not related to the Roman empire) as emperor of the Romans.
While the Orthodox emperor claims that title for himself
my favorite part is when people copy each other incorrectly
the whole "neoclassical" style that many famous American buildings like the Capitol, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, etc were intended to be copying Greek architecture and monuments, but at the time nobody understood that Greek stuff used to have a bunch of bright colors on it, so all those copies were pure white from the start
Most of the dyes the Greek had were not color fast
(I do like the neoclassical's white look, though.)
agreed, it's not a bad look at all
it's just funny how we got there
speaking of which, my favorite fun fact about how the US Founding Fathers are mythologized
the Lincoln Memorial is designed to resemble the Temple of Zeus at Olympia, of all things
It's been 75% off before
I love how the last thing I said was ''I'm surprised ther eisn't a purple tunic in Zelda'' and when I come back I get greeted by the history of the byzantine empire
We are fun like that.
Oh! Now say the same thing, but substitute purple for a different color.
Maybe we'll get to learn about the Persians!
or keep Nire here by mentioning a purple thing from Dragonball
Freezer?
I knew I was forgetting an obvious one
Frieza
Furiza
Gesundheit
one of these days Nire needs to read Hunter x Hunter just so we can see his reactions to the Dragonball allusions in the Chimera Ant Arc
also I need to read or watch some form of dragonball
That arc was the one that belonged in the story least
it didn't advance "the main plot" much, but it is framed as a giant detour from the start, and I still enjoyed it immensely
true, though we could say that about a lot of arcs in most long-runners
since the arcs before and after it advanced plenty of main stuff it didn't feel like an issue at all when I read it
My experience with it is watching a little bit over my brother's shoulder
I also had the benefit of reading the collected tankouban volumes instead of the original chapters in shonen jump (HxH was kinda infamous for having unfinished art that got cleaned up later)
OCRwmix's album number 100 is a Final Fantasy album
Oh cool ff8
Yeah
I read it as VII first and rolled my eyes but then i focused harder and saw it was VIII
Hadnt read beyond that
I like FF7 and 9 music better than 8, but it's all fantastic. 8 is my favorite overall
Same
7 music <3
The Man with the Machine Gun and Maybe I'm a Lion are god tier
no memes please
yeah that second image was a bit much
also the release was November 2010: https://publicintelligence.net/us-army-apache-longbow-ah-64d-attack-helicopter-operators-manual/
but laughing at warthunder leaks is always on-topic
the second image was a meme
it literally was
my 'friend' from yesterday is back
I take it you won that fight.
Not really, he's a platinum player with over 200 hours in battle hub alone and I barely have 5 and overall 20 hours in the game in total from practice and other casual matches
Ah.
That makes it somehow worse, I think.
I won a couple of rounds this time because I've been reading about my character and practicing but I'm not at the level of a plat player, he's just a trash talker
200+ hour player shit talking a barely 20 hour player unranked and going into my profile to see what I've been up to
who's the green fella who was raised by electric eels
blanka
i like him he's from Brazil
"the day m bison killed your father was the worst day of your life. for me, it was tuesday"
it certainly says more about them than about you
that sounds like he has self-imposed rules about what makes a "good" player, and would fall into the "scrub" mentality: https://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/introducingthe-scrub. Like he's trying to get you to stop using "cheap" tactics.
Some players also like to get into your head with toxic behavior and bad sportsmanship to try and push you to play worse
I didn't even use any cheap tactis, the funny thing is he kept mashing command grab more than me, I'm just playing to the best of my abilities
he seems to have gotten salty that sometimes I kept command grabbing him in a row but it's his fault if he can't defend against that
He even made sure to private dm me rather than speak in the chat so I guess it's just a thing he likes doing, I didn't even know how to use the chat so I didn't reply
I only found out today and I just said ''lol lmao'' and went back to the machines to practice
hope I don't come across him again, I was waiting for someone to fight and he beelined into my machine when he saw me and I didn't have enough time to get up
I'll check it out!
If anyone's rude like that I just block them
If you block someone on Steam, not only will they be unable to see your profile, they'll be excluded from any Steam-run matchmaking service (like for Dark Souls)
who would be rude to you
people who are rude to everyone, for starters
Dark Souls matchmaking is antagonistic by design
A lot of trolls thrive there.
Some even abuse bugs to get you banned or break your save.
I can't remember if I had that on or not during my failed attempt to play it
I feel like I might've turned it off immediately
You only get invaded if you're human and have not beaten the boss of the area you're in
huh
With some exceptions like you asking for an invasion
You also may only summon cooperators under these conditions
and only if you're using online play
to clarify, I feel like I might've turned online play off immediately
but I also spent almost no time as human so I'm not sure
I'm sure there's some way to block people but I honestly can't even be bothered to put the energy into that
I'd rather just chime in, play my games, and then get out
One funny trick they play on you, in Dark Souls 1 your health starts at 100% and you lose 50% of it if you lose your humanity.
In Dark Souls 3, your health is 100% but you get 30% more if you use an ember, and you start unembered.
Dark Souls 2's version of that was the worst
So even though the end is the same, and dying loses you ~25% of your health, it feels better because the ember bonus is a bonus
in Dark Souls 1 you don't lose health if you die, it's just if you're cursed
if you die you just go hollow and you're not human anymore
I don't think you lose health for losing humanity in DS1. I've only watched, not played, but that doesn't seem like what I've seen. (You have lower item discovery and lower defenses without humanity)
it's DS2 where if you die, you gradually lose more and more max HP
and it fucking sucks
Right, right. It's DS2, where you slowly lose HP up to 50%
yeah, dying from a curse gives you half health which sucks
Either way, it's exactly the same mechanic
One feels bad because you start with the extra HP
I knew a guy like this. He and i were pretty cool until SF6 came out. We hadnt apoken for a while until then but something must have happened to where he became really toxic and fucking RAGED at me for playing similarly to what this dude is being a crybaby about.
this is your brain on competitive gaming
games like league of legends change people
I know because it changed me
Like, he was fucking raging abput how none of what im doing is ever going to actually work in a competitive setting and that im just limiting myself, etc
there are some people it's really bad for
I remain baffled and fascinated by people who claim to enjoy this and games designed around it
Like bitch im new to fighting games and i do t learn very fast what do you expect, you KNOW im like this, been like this since SF5
It's not really a problem of the game itself, League is a very fun game and I legitimately enjoy it and think it's a great moba
it's just the people and the mentality you start developing when you play
SF6 is also fantastic too to be fair these experiences are just one of the many positive ones you'll have, like I said last night the first guy I fought actually complimented my gameplay and said if I practiced a little bit more I'd give everyone trouble
But once you get into that sweaty hardcore competive circle you better develop tough skin
In the worst cases you start acting like those toxic people too without realizing
Basically
Ive sworn off fighting games because they just breed this community of saltlords who have nothing better to do than forget they were new once and trash on people who are just trying to have some fun and play the game
tbf some games do have garbage hitboxes
Nah that's taking it a bit too far, if you play mostly casual matches you'll have a good time especially if you queue for casual matches in the menu
No chatting or anything, just go straight into the game and rematch as many times as you want and go away whenever you want to
It's mostly around the more competitive circles that people get really shitty and elitist about skill but most players and most people are also trying to improve and have fun
the talk of "saltlords" reminded me of that one area of Blasphemous where nothing can be seen except a bunch of people transformed into salt statues as punishment
....that's salt?
new headcanon
I thought it was ice
it is hard to tell when you first get there, especially since it is a lake
but iirc the NPC there will tell you it's salt
9th circle moment

new worst reviewed game
sports game ports are notoriously bad
sounds like the PC version is just awful
About time people realized these games are copy pasted and offer nothing new that couldn't be already offered in an update or patch to the previous games
I'd say I'm baffled that people still play these but I realize that most of the audience isn't exactly gamers and mostly sports fans which is a pretty big audience
it's fun watching actual pro basketball players play these games
indeed, sports games have always been a "why do people play these?" for quote-unquote "gamers" and yet continue to sell crazy numbers
sometimes they're surprisingly good at them. Turns out they have good reflexes and understand basketball.
I assume they're close enough to the sport that it makes sense for sportsball fans, and that's mostly good enough for me
what confuses me is, as you said, the changes from year to year are not big
in fact this seems like maybe the only single player genre of game that should be a live service, if people care that much about roster updates to match the real life sportsball leagues
some years they make a significant change, but some years it's just new rosters and that's it
It's not really confusing at all, it's quite clear that they're just greedy scumbags, that much is clear
I mean what's confusing is people buying a game that's identical to one they already own except for roster, in droves, when this is not a secret to anyone
given people do that, of course it's not confusing that the publishers would keep making them
The only confusing part would be why people pay for it but again I assume most people who play these sports games aren't exactly gamers who are very in tune or really know about the company that much, the kind of people that go ''ah sick new nba game let's goo'' and don't really think much of it
especially when the fomo kicks in and maybe they realize ah if I don't switch I'm not gonna have anyone to play with online or whatever
I don't know how the updates for these games work but I think it'd be safe to assume the previous games stop getting updates entirely in favor of the new game
probably
especially back when subscriptions and live services were not a thing yet so you actually had to release a new game to do a roster update
or an "expansion pack", as they say in ye olde english
I'm pretty sure even back in that era the differences between the games were very minor which is why it's been happening for so long
in many cases, game sequels have started out as planned expansions / DLCs that grew enough to become a full game. Like Descent 2 was meant to just be a Descent expansion.
people just... keep paying for it
regardless, it does still seem to be true that for people not hugely into the sport in question, like most of us, these games have nothing we'd be interested in
but yeah, sports games, the releases are barely expansion-quality and definitely not new-game quality
or Silksong
I just read a review in the steam page that basically said: ''they just sold the same game. I bought 2k23 less than 10 months ago, I didn't hesitate to buy 2k24 but I didn't realize they're worse than robbers! Paid for a software update''
the weirdest part of the review being ''I didn't hesitate to buy 2k24''
a lot of people in the reviews seem surprised that this is happening but it's been like this for so many years it's why I think maybe these people just aren't really keeping up with this stuff or don't realize or care until it gets this bad
There's another review on that Steam page that's just informing people how to request a refund.
The situation seems to be the exact same as it has been for a while except now it's even worse especially because the game seems to play like trash
yeah, this appears to be worse than past years
So you're getting a worse version of the game you already own
...Where have they been for the past... decade?
Too busy playing 2K apparently
this game is based on Catholicism isn't it? God turned that one guy's wife into a pillar of salt when she looked back at the burning city
it sounds like they're going through the same angst "the gamer community" went through with "AAAs" when I was a teenager
, and led to the indie PC boom
Blasphemous isn't 'based on' catholicism as much as it's based on Spanish culture with obvious drops of fantasy in there
yup, the full lore is that some guy pretended to be a priest and used salt in performing his fake miracles, so both him and his followers were turned to salt as punishment; his penance is to bless specific objects you can bring him and that's how you get several of the "relics" that give you special abilities
ooo
but yeah "based on" is just a smidge too strong, since it's not like anyone is a 1-to-1 match for Bible characters, I'd go with "inspired by"
yeah poor choice of words on my part lol
i just remembered that the helmet or whatever was Catholic or something
yep, which I did not know about before that chat here
My only question is how is the guy able to still bless things if he pretended to be a priest but I guess he's doing it 'fr fr' this time
tbf you could ask how any of the NPCs even know what their penance is supposed to be
I assume the Miracle just made them know
The hat itself isn't catholic persé again it's just spanish culture, it was a hat used for penitence and to humilliate people who were being judged
Nowadays it's used for religious events and demonstrations during the holy week
To be fair until I was told, I had no idea what my penance was
Unlike Link in Zelda it seems this protagonist really is fully silent
not like protag's gonna say what it is
I like how the protagonist remains completely anonymous and backstory-less for the whole game, and several characters even comment on this; he's just the guy who managed to kill all the bosses
Nire: you haven't seen any of the endings yet, right?
what is the Miracle
I know nothing about this game other than what I've seen through my playthrough
cool, I will not say what I was just thinking of then
I'd like to imagine the ending is the protag takes off his capirote and says ''I guess I was blasphemous ™️ all along''
Shovel Knight is in Blasphemous
in the world of Blasphemous, "the Miracle" is everyone's name for whatever mysterious supernatural will is doing all the weird stuff
behold
the miracle is the friends we made along the way
oh i see
it's typically described in divine terms but what it is or wtf it wants is ultimately a mystery
That's basically Grace from Elden Ring
that island painting also looks familir
except that turned out to be || aliens ||
w h a t
(Blasphemous 2 adds an interesting wrinkle to this subject but I'll leave out that part of the answer for when Nire gets that far)
||what do you mean it turns out to be aliens||
Minecraft food is boring, time for an upgrade.

no i can't move on from this what do you mean ||aliens||
(All Spanish games except Shovel Knight)
The Greater Will is the mysterious force behind the Golden Order in Elden Ring, the final boss of the game || was sent to the Earth on a gold star by the Greater Will and became the Elden Ring which became a central part of the Golden Order as it's what embodies the laws of the world. Whoever or whatever the Golden Order is is some sort of Eldritch ancient god alien being who introduced all of these things laws and magic and even alien entities into the world ||
whoa
fantasy settings have a habit of flipping into sci-fi when the world-building gets past a certain depth
that's so cool
An optional boss from the game is basically || an outer god/alien who crashed into earth as a meteorite and there's other creatures similar to him and with similar magic ||
WHOA
it's even cooler in motion, look up a video sometime
did Jerma fight this fella
Jerma the fella fighter
yes
He fights fellas and fell-you know maybe this joke wasn't appropriate for Manechat
||wait i thought that Malenia was the optional boss ? or does ER have many optional bosses||
It's a Dark Souls game
yeah
That means they have like five optional bosses and one or two optional super bosses per DLC
oh ok
...that is a weirdly consistent number
what is a super boss
Blasphemous has 9 mandatory bosses, then one DLC added 5 more, then another DLC added 2 more (and gave the 9th mandatory one a new phase)
Really hard boss
The fingers are also vassal entities associated with the greater will, the two fingers specifically, the three fingers are directly associated with || the outer god of the frenzied flame || and they lead you to that ending of the game, so there's a lot more than just the one entity and it's safe to assume most otherworldly aspects of the world were directly introduced into the game's earth from outside especially any form of special magics
it sounds like a joke but Elden Ring is just ''what if we made Dark Souls and Bloodborne but at the same time?''
"and also open world"
tbf cosmic horror is a very natural fit for their storytelling style
that's so cool
Their minimalist approach to storytelling lends itself well for mysterious otherworldly unexplainable phenomena
(it's really a shame I can't enjoy their games, only appreciate videos about the lore)
and it's never really something that is the forefront of the story it's more so something you slowly start realizing through lore dumps and descriptions and just the world itself, and in the end you get a pretty big confirmation but most of the game revolves around the ''politics'' of the entire ring shattering ordeal rather than the cosmic stuff
Eldritch horrors my beloved ❤️
it's a pretty complex and detailed world whereas something like the Dark Souls world seems a lot more contained and a bit easier to get an understanding of in comparison
I think I mostly remember everything about Dark Souls 1 but there's a lot of Elden Ring I just completely missed
I only recently found out that the tarnished were brang back to life by the erdtree
relevant Blasphemous 2 stuff: ||things like #1032716748887179434 message, and the whole leaving and coming back centuries later thing, arguably imply that The Miracle is more like an eldritch abomination than a divine being
||
Well... everyone gets brought back from death, since the rune of death has been sealed so the concept of death doesn't really exist anymore
That's why enemies and you keep coming back all the time
How come you get to have your own necronomicon
ever since Dark Souls came out, it's mandatory to have an in-universe explanation for your protag and enemies respawning
I have to use the same one everyone else does
I don't remember fallen order having an explanation for that whole thing actually
Borderlands 1 is another game with focus on this feature
😎
Released two years before. Each time you die, you're brought back at cost by a "NEW-U" station or a respawn point
yeah I'm mostly kidding, it is a "soulslike narrative trope" and that is actually one example of how Jedi:FO/S are "soulslike" only in a gameplay sense; their stories just aren't souls-y
Oh I just get them off project Gutenberg since they're open domain
TIL that Borderlands came out before Dark Souls did.
I don't know why, but that feels... off.
Even then I don't know how much of Fallen Order is really souls-like considering it seems like a '''standard''' action adventure game but I haven't played it myself so I don't know
alas, i like my books in physical form
if there are any souls like aspects they seemed really surface level to me and the rest is mechanics that don't show up in souls at all like the platforming
Well, "souls-like" seems to be a relatively broad term nowadays.
I've never actually played Dark Souls - only seen footage - but the gameplay of Fallen Order feels like how I imagine Dark Souls to feel, if that makes sense.
Technically digital books exist physically in the form of bits
Although I suppose you could just call that a "melee combat game".
Also, physical books are grasped by your digits, making them digital
i don't even know who i gave my money to considering Lovecraft is dead and i don't think he has an estate
so, gameplay-wise, the main reason Fallen Order gets that label all the time is that it expects you to do a lot of dodging, blocking and parrying, with a limited stamina meter for your blocks and your enemies' blocks, so boss fights typically involve getting their stamina to drain faster than yours
(it also helps that Fallen Order/Survivor have very 3D Metroidvania level design, which people often forget was not invented by Dark Souls
)
it was invented by me
If only we could gleam what ''metroidvania'' means so we know which games invented/popularized this game design...

nah pretty sure it was dark souls all along
Glean
gloam
and tbh, it's an awesome system for lightsaber duels
The biggest complaint I hear is that lightsabers still feel like clubs
while there's still an element of "why isn't a lightsaber an instant kill" going on there, it's much easier to believe that your saber isn't doing "real" damage until after you break through the bad guy's guard
What's your favorite word, CaptainMario?
lightsabers
You sound like a petrichor kind of person.
or crunch is a good word
I'm honestly very surprised that Fallen Order didn't go for the Sekiro gameplay mechanics rather than the Souls ones, Sekiro seems like a much more logical fit
Crunch is nice
Sekiro's entire deal is about breaking guards and damaging the enemies' posture so it's not mainly about dealing damage although you can deal damage, the damage dealing part only really comes for killing blows which would make total sense for lightsaber combat
i like that word
huh... fair point, I also bounced off Sekiro far too quickly to really form an opinion there
In uh
Max Payne, I think
Your "HP" is just the protagonist's luck
nice
You run out, and your luck literally run out, getting shot
In any case, Fallen Order doesn't hold a candle to Jedi Academy's masterful lightsaber combat
Just look at that grace, that elegance

Truly peak of Star War games
I guess I should also add, Fallen Order/Survivor have a lot of animal enemies which don't have any way of blocking a saber and thus breaking their stamina is optional (and usually pointless), but those enemies either do die in one hit, or are 2-5x your size so it's a lot easier to believe they need multiple hits
(there's a few rare cases rare it's even possible to cut off a limb but the enemy's still fighting on lower health)
anyway, not a complete solution to sabers-as-clubs, but far closer than most Star Wars games
Also just from looking at that gif you may think it's a complete joke but this game actually has a pretty in depth 'system' for the combat that people have been discussing and making guides for for years and became the main way to play the game competitively
Yes, this game has (or had) a competitive scene and tournaments
oh no I believe you
that's what all competitive shooters and fighting games look like to me too
Yeah, the only times in Survivor that I can remember thinking in the back of my head "that swing probably should have done more damage" is when fighting those big BX droids.
Even then, though, I suppose you could explain that away by saying that their armor is made from some anti-lightsaber material or something along those lines.
As far as most other enemies go, though, I thought the games handled them rather well. I would absolutely believe that a Yahg takes more than one swing to take down.
ah the big ass enemies that have unblockable/super-armor moves
yeah, I also find it believable that a combat droid could be made of solid pieces of hard-to-cut metal that no human-worn armor could compete with
since we've seen in the movies that sabers take time to cut through thick doors
you know you're playing CS2 right when your 3rd top weapon is a shotgun
people are kind of noticing shotguns are a bit busted in terms of balance, either people are finally giving them a chance or CS2's netcode has made them more effective
oh no
chk chk
NeverKnowsBest just put out a 5 hour video about all 16 final fantasy games
see y'all tomorrow
It's past midnight
I'll watch most of it tomorrow
They did it.
They actually did it.
https://www.gamespot.com/articles/titanfall-2-receives-first-major-update-in-years-apex-patch-notes-easter-egg-may-be-related/1100-6517774/

They even took private matches out of beta after, like, 7 years.
is campaign affected in any way? I'll probably only care about the campaign when I get to that game (I have too many multiplayer games to care about already)
I don't think so, no.
I stopped playing TF2 quite a while ago now since I was literally not getting any matches in the slightest and the servers seemed pretty broken
Well, if you wanted to give it another go, these developments should help with that, it seems.
Yeah pretty active rn from when i played it last night
Well right now I'm not doing much FPS'ing as I did before but if I happen to not touch Apex Legends for a while longer I may uninstall it and install TF2 since I enjoyed my time with it when I was getting matches
People always underestimate the tactical worth of the Boxtrot.
what is this
Mini-sentry
Where did the sentry girls meme come from anyway?
Reddit, probably.
The TF2 subreddit has had, like, two civil wars over them by now.
why 😭
shower thought: mini-sentry is just a baby sentry
you either find it cute or scary, no middle ground
Latter for me.
Those things are terrifying.
Upon further research, it appears to have been initially propagated by a multitude of social media sites - YouTube, Newgrounds, etc. Some models were even posted on the Steam Workshop back when it first became relevant.
Not sure of the exact origin of it, though.
do you guys remember that one comment thread on that Paper Mario OST video that was literally a warzone
Do tell.
Know Your Meme
Mimi-Sentry is a player model and ragdoll for Team Fortress 2 designed as an anthropomorphic, female version of the mini sentry turret. The model, designed by Steam user Mochi, was originally posted to the Steam Workshop in February 2023 and became increasingly popularized among Source Filmmaker and Garry's Mod creators over the following months...
As early as 2020, several artists online began creating anthropomorphic versions of the mini sentry from Team Fortress 2, a sentry turret dropped by engineers, often depicting it as a robotic female character and referring to her as "mini sentry chan," "sentry girl" or "mini sentry tan." On May 17th, 2021, Newgrounds user Flyingpiggles10 posted artwork of an anthropomorphic sentry girl named Mimi, garnering over 300 views in two years.
one thing leads to another and you end with this
i don't think i like them they're kinda creepy
I too am scared of mini-sentries
it was a video of a Paper Mario: Sticker Star song and there was a comment thread that was like an extreme war or something lol. sadly the yt account was terminated along with the video so it doesn't exist anymore 😔
Ah, that sucks.
...I suppose it's unsurprising that it was a Sticker Star video, though.

I see a lot of hate for that game, therefore I have to try it eventually
Paper Mario fans hate any game that isn't TTYD
the OG Paper Mario has a full decompilation, but no PC port yet
I'm eagerly awaiting for that 🙂
I saw someone saying "FINALLY, PEOPLE WILL UNDERSTAND" during TTYD remake reaction
What's been happening with Nintendo actually paying attention to their older games recently? We have the Metroid Prime remaster, the Mother rereleases, and now a TTYD remake. I'm sure I haven't hit everything with that, either.
"Switch sold well, and we don't have time to make a new game for it now due to making a new console, let's just throw everything we had before to Switch now"
You... are probably 100% correct, actually.
Still, though, I suppose it's nice to have updated versions of these things.
this is genuinely one of the funniest video game moments i have ever experienced in my life
💖 147
Also after the success of Mario movie they are probably like "Ok Mario sells well let's just bombard people with Mario"
post-covid times, lots of games being released at once
I wouldn't read into it too much 🙂 I'd say it's just a byproduct of the increased number of releases
It does kinda feel like they were holding multiple projects in their hands and then showing one-by-one every direct to hype people
You're probably right.
But I will absolutely read into it too much.
We're getting a new Metroid Prime next week. Guarantee it.
I worked on Metroid Prime, my mother's very proud
Wow he looks like Elon Musk
Yeah the Ttyd remaster is probably the biggest W in a while for old Nintendo fans
SIDE EFFECT????? That is a FEATURE!
Super Mario RPG be like : Am I a joke
Oh my God, he does
Holy fucking shit

Probably even like 99% of Nintendo fans would agree that Switch has a weak performance compared to other consoles
You can see that Switch is like realllly bad compared to Xbox or PS5, but quite bad compared to Deck
It's meaningless to bash Switch for graphics at this point, I really wonder if Switch 2 "has a PS5 level graphics with upscale" like the rumor
It's interesting because it's not a leak but more of "they showed it during game show" thing
At least it doesn't claim that it has PS5 level hardware, it says "it has a decent hardware, and it has upscale tech from nvidia that allows the visual to look like PS5"
I too doubt it would be that powerful, but it can make sense I guess
I expect Xbox One levels or maybe a Xbox Series S... maybe... but that's just me being generous. The issue is that NVIDIA has yet to reveal any SoC that can do that without eating a lot of power, there are laptop gpus but this needs to be an SoC.
I mean it can be a dockmode only feature
I don't think any of the news said it was capable of PS5 graphic in handheld mode, that would be some insane future technology
Yes but making it "look like ps5" can just mean "it outputs at bigger resolutions" but "looks like Xbox One".
The Switch isn't exactly the console you'd go for for cutting edge visuals but it's legitimately distracting how bad it looks, I'm sure the people in charge of porting it to Switch worked very hard to make it run in the first place but MK1 is a game that focuses so much on the latest visuals that it's pretty baffling it even is on the switch
That's the gist of it.
Yeah we have to exactly see how it feels
but hey if it runs it runs
Honestly graphics isn't like the biggest concern, I think more important part is that "it ran UE5 matrix demo"
Well UE can run on anything if you kneecap it enough.
I was honestly expecting about Gen 8 console. If they can improve it from there, that's a W for me
I mean sure, but I am more worried about backwards compatibility.
That's probably gonna be a deciding factor for me in getting a Switch 2 instead of a Deck.
Because the Deck will not last me a second.
Deck is literally a heavier, bulkier, and power hungry device that would probably top 1 hour of battery for me lol.
It would be extremely dumb if they don't have backward comp
I guess Nintendo is often extremely dumb
But I don't think they are that dumb
Its more about the SoC and how it could need to emulate older titles.
While seemigly looking like it has backwards compatibility.
Some titles are 32bit, and those titles are the ones that might not work on the new Switch.
im not complaining :p
small heads up: if you want to buy the fully unlocked, no-MTX version of Avengers, you can only do it until September 30th for $4. It'll be delisted after that date, but still playable if you bought it previously (including multiplayer)

Always love seeing stuff like this

Crazy how much love and dedication even just one person can have for a game that they take the insane effort and time to do this type of thing
Huh. Wonder if that's worth playing. Do they have stuff like campaigns or something? (story is my main interest)
It does have a campaign but the story is fairly weak
imagine being a game company that releases 2 games in a decade
wait sorry, i forgot about the remasters that are factually worse than the originals

My 2nd Blender test. This one is much more ambitious than the last one since it tackles Grease Pencil (amazing tool btw, and not too hard to use in this case), some rigging (mainly modifying an existing rig), and much more extensive compositing.
Also learning DaVinci Resolve (more extensively, though I'm...
The horse man the myth the legend
So damn adorable
I loved every little bit while she was in front of the camera. The "HEY!" beep was perfection.

And I also love how everyone is treating Mimi as the Engineer's daughter. It's such a nice and wholesome dynamic
The 2d overlay for her face is something I've never seen done before with Mimi
It's genius, and the animation is so well done overall too

Chie: squares tf up
Her kick is the most powerful attack in the series lmao
All those martial arts movies payed off
p4's idle animations are great and show a lot of character
p4's a good game
I think the dungeon gameplay is way less fun than p5, but it's still a good game
P4UU makes me want to commit crime

Unlimited Elizabeth
-Health increased to 22500
-Invigorate increases SP by 4x the usual rate
-Diarahan fully heals HP
-Mahamaon and Mamudoon now come out instantly
-Ghastly Wail/Memento Mori deals 7500 damage normally, and 44444 with Fear inflicted
-Megidolaon now only activates with 1 hit
dis bitch be op and I have to beat her to advance the Golden Tower
At least the boss doesn't appear to like using Diarahan otherwise I would have DONE THINGS by now
... i beat this boss
by pressing ONE BUTTON
I HATE HOW EFFECTIVE THIS IS.
Average zoner gameplay be like
The kicker is that now with Fury of Yasogami, I start in Boss/Unlimited Mode
Remember the restore to full health thing I mentioned before?
Elizabeth can purposefully put herself at low health to Awaken (basically a comback mechanic) and then HEAL TO FULL AT NO COST
Not that it matters... She has two instant kill super attacks. As in, 99999 damage
This character is fucking broken
Like either of those would break the game
But she has BOTH
This is on top of Boss/Unlimited characters having an automatic damage multiplier and most Boss Characters do look to be insane to fight against, like Boss Yu Narukami just being able to cancel attacks into everything.
https://www.tumblr.com/askagamedev/728453344063078400/about-unity-these-past-few-days some interesting veiws on the unity situation, but TLDR unity spent far too much money before and during the pandemic and are in desparate need of cash
which would expplain the fees
Unity has been infected by IronSource
Ironsource, yeah
11 of the 13 board members at Unity are investment managers, and one of them is the founder of IronSource.
That text sounds a little too sympathetic for John, I think it's great to actually re-direct all the internet hatred and hoards of people towards the people that actually are pulling the strings that never take the blame during these situations (look at how much attention was put towards Kotick during the Blizzard situations and not the other equally responsible people) but I don't think that John should be completely ignored either because he legitimately is a greedy scumbag too
Yeah I don't think John is innocent in any of this at all, like that message seems to kind of imply
he's a greedy shithead surrounded by other greedy shitheads trying to fuck over the consumer for more dollars
🎉 RELIC ACQUIRED 🎉
Next time make him meet Cleofas
but... at what cost...
redento....
I got the final stinger upgrade so that's cool, I don't care too much for the finishing combo and the faster charge attack upgrades though so for now I'm probably holding off to donate these souls to the church
I wanna see what reward I get for throwing money at that thing
fuck go back this is 100% a boss
imo it's the funniest boss

Brilliant! Now everything is immediately going to go back to normal.
High five, everyone! We did it!
The employees who warned against this decision multiple times are probably like: ''we FUCKING TOLD YOU
''
@unity I got a suggestion, I think you should fire every fucken higher up dickbag and give the whole company to the back breaking employees who came out here on their own names to defend it despite idiotic leadership. Maybe then all these devs could give trusting it another shot. Maybe.

If they don’t kick their fucking CEO out, nothing will matter
the CEO and mgmt who all sold shares in advanced should be rotting in prision for insider trading
They said in 2019 that they wouldn’t make major TOS changes without warning like this after a similar sudden and massive change to the terms. Yet they did.
Now do that in Duke's voice (or Gabriel's).
That’s a non-issue.
The CEO sold 2000 stock units, which is a very very small amount compared to his trade history. Further, high ranking managers and executives in organizations this valuable or otherwise very large are required to schedule sales well ahead of time, sometimes several months in advance, as part of standard practices to prevent insider trading.
I’m 90% certain that is required by law.
Stock trading becomes complicated as hell when you’re higher up
You don't need to be high up for that to be forced on you, but any position that can have a good handle on future moves/annoucements is basically required.
Yep.
i just think it would be funny to see them removed from CEO/positions of power as they are sitting in a prision cell
good way to get them out of power
If you want to get around it, Congress is always there (on the Floor; US Residents only; must be 25/35+, etc.).
I'm not typing out a fake advert for a radio commerical for a joke that is Rule 2 violating.
I’m pretty confident no real crimes have been committed. It’s merely a drama over a significant breach of trust into Unity’s brand as a tool that business owners can rely on, so moving forward it is very difficult to determine if committing to the Unity platform is a safe time and resource investment or not.
oh yeah the confidence and any trust in them is certainly shattered
Mhmm
i do like seeing all the posts of companies already planning their move even if unity backs down
I swear, Skyrim modders are a different breed
making changes to the policy
In other words, we aren’t fully backing down. I feel the only way they can even remotely get any trust back is to completely reverse this decision and fire the CEO and board.
The next investors meeting for Unity is going to be very telling.
While I feel like the trust is indeed significantly diminished, I do want to hear what they have to say.
It’ll also be interesting to see what the broader dev community thinks of their response.
Thanks Todd.

Here's the actual message they posted
The replies are very funny.
Elder scrolls will be coming in 2026 or later but will only. Be Xbox and PC only https://twitter.com/hazzadorgamin/status/1703762227491225764?
anyway news about a game coming out in 2026 is hardly reliable even if it had a good source.
mm-hmm, we should phrase it as something like targeting a 2026 release
The Elder Scrolls VI will skip PS5 and isn’t coming until at least 2026, according to documents from Microsoft in the FTC v. Microsoft case. Details: https://t.co/R6Y8qpwydt

Going straight for the big guns: the Nintendo switch 3
I thought it meant like
It would be for the PS6
I now realize it just means xbox/pc exclusive
But releasing it on pc and Xbox they will lose a lot of the fanbase I think.
I think they're desperate for games that will sell xboxs tbh
Because at the moment I think Sony is spanking Microsoft in exclusives
so is Nintendo
And the post that agent posted was fthe document that was at the FTC Microsoft case.
Makes sense.
They're still in preproduction, most likely.
The PS6 and next Xbox will be available by then
Nintendo Switch 2 be like: Hey we got Skyrim, give us the next one too bruh
Do you think they will come out around 25-26?
I think so, 5-6 years seems to be the general console release timeline
Tbh this gen barely feels like it’s started 2+ years in though. Can the industry really justify a new console generation in just a few years time?
I don't think I own any current gen consoles besides maybe the Switch
Thats fair, we haven't even heard murmurings of a "PS5 Pro" yet
and I think we'll see that before we see a PS6
So maybe 27 or 28 for new consoles?
The PS5 came out in 2020 and the pandemic significantly hampered the development cycles for everyone. Further, support for previous gen consoles was extended because of this.
So that cannibalized the current gen a fair bit
I heard the PS6 wouldn’t be out until 2028.
Honestly, 7 or 8 years makes sense.
But it's hard to say, I'm sure they're not really looking too much into it right now beyond initial plans.
I mean when the pro comes out. It’ll last until the 6 comes out.
If a Pro comes out.
I'm not sure if up-tuned mid cycle refreshes are going to be the norm or not.
It got leaked a while back. But we will see what Happens.
Yeah playstation really got Microsoft good this gen with exclusives
And the head of Xbox said the Xbox series consoles are almost at the end of the cycle.
I barely play my xbox as is. Mostly a movie box and part time emulator machine
That wouldn't make much sense
The Xbox Series X|S came out in 2020 as well.
But who knows what Microsoft's hardware strategy is.
I suspect they're going to go their own way
I didn't realize the previous generation was longer than usual, much less this current one
Well the way Xbox is heading they want cloud being used more than consoles.
Wii U having a stupidly short lifespan made Switch's lifespan weirder
Yeah, Nintendo is simply detached from the cycle and they have their own
I mean it’s good they are bringing out a new switch but having it be as powerful and an original Xbox one and PS4 is a bit strange.
Gen3 and Gen4 are probably over-extended due to NES and SNES living extremely long
The cycle used to be reliably 5 years. Not so much anymore.
It also doesn't help that game development cycles themselves are also getting longer
Both being produced all the way until 2003
Remember when games were built in two years on average? Now it's five.
Well look at GTA 6 it’s been 10 years and not even a teaser trailer.
Rockstar is an unusual studio, though
The format of their games means that their games are necessarily going to take a lot longer than average to build.
Yeah Rockstar like surprising everyone with random trailers out of nowhere.
They like not releasing games
And when 6 comes out it’ll be the most highest grossing media ever made

Rockstar delayed development of GTA 6 by many years in order to milk GTAV
^

It was only when consumers complained and 2k themselves ordered rockstar to start making more games did we actually get anything from it
Rockstar remasters are hit or miss
To be fair the GTA trilogy remaster wasn’t done by rockstar but they had to step in to fix a lot of bugs.
Frankly I don't expect GTA6 to be that good.
It is baffling to realize that Nintendo retired Wii U before releasing Switch
For about a month they literally only sold 3DS
That console got it bad lol
Also like, I think early Switch marketing wasn't very good, even though I think the Switch is a great console
Nintendo fucked up the marketing for it big time
I say that specifically because when the Switch came out, I thought it was like the Wii U again, where the tablet was just a game pad and the dock was the console
The switch was what the wii u was meant to be
Switch had a good enough marketing, it just had a serious production problem
I didn't realize until I literally bought my own switch a year or so after it came out and brought it home that the tablet WAS the console
I opened the box and I'm like "Wheres the console at..."
So I say the early marketing was bad because I don't think it did a great job explaining that the tablet was the switch, and not just another gamepad
Me either
I think they showed how it work good enough
I always knew it was a portable console
Yep. Even Nintendo once said that the WiiU is basically the prototype of the Switch and the Switch was the thing they've always wanted to ultimately make
The Switch feels like the culmination of every Nintendo console
It does!
They exactly said that during the media conference
The classic "Full game" experiences of the N64/Gamecube/etc, the casual capturing and motion control stuff of the Wii, and the portability of the DS/GBA
Yep
Although I wish the OS had that cute Nintendo flair to it with like system music, easter eggs, bring the Miis back, etc
Yeah but companies can say that, doesn't mean it's true normally. For the Switch its actually true I think lol
That'd be nice
The Wii's OS definitely had that game feel that I think Nintendo should constantly strive for
I have a strong feeling that Switch's OS is partially incomplete
In my opinion, the switch is the best "console" ever made
Hardware and feature wise atleast
The Switch's OS is so barebones
it is! They once said they intended to bring more features to it and sell themes for it, but that never happened
For example they have a whole "theme" section in their settings
I agree. It feels like a full console but it's also portable, its pretty cool
Which literally only has "light mode" "dark mode"
Hopefully we get a better OS with the Switch 2
Yeah, they clearly had a bunch of plans that got cancelled
I don't think Nintendo has to innovate much feature wise with the Switch 2
just give us a Switch with QOL improvements and better specs
That's my hope
I'd buy it
From the fact that 3DS had such theme functionality
Switch but with the cozy and playful Wii feel and I'd fall in love immediately
It is easy to assume it was supposed to happen for Switch
Yeah, they explicitly stated that was the plan one time
It just... never happened.
Clearly they had some sort of priority shift internally
We also do know that the Switch's firmware was only stabilized literally the month before release
They were behind schedule
I'm not surprised, the Switch felt like a huge jump from the Wii U or 3DS
As I said, they retired Wii U a whole month before they released Switch
The Switch's firmware is a fork of the 3DS firmware
Incidentally this is why the Citra 3DS emulator was forked off to build one of the Switch emulators, because the vast majority of that work was reusable.
3DS retired 3 years after the release of Switch. If Switch failed, Nintendo's hardware business was basically dead.
This is quite funny.
The Switch has finally outsold the Wii
I think this makes sense.
I sorta thought the Wii's sales numbers were kinda untouchable
The Switch has the casual appeal the Wii had but more "proper gaming" appeal
at least imo
Wii?
Wii actually didn't sell that many hardwares
PS2 is nearly untouchable
People still debating over if Switch can sell more than DS and PS2
100 million is an incredibly difficult mark to hit
Over 100 million is pretty solid
Yes but it's nowhere near "untouchable"
I guess it was still the most sold Nintendo home console
the ps2 had the advantage of being what? a dvd player when dvd players were just coming out?
yes?
I mean, the 100 million club is entirely "iconic, timeless game consoles everyone knows" list.
Yep, that was what drove PS2 sales
It was a cheap DVD player when actual DVD players were much more expensive than a PS2
Some people do speculate that Switch's last-holiday sale may make it possible to go past PS2 ever so slightly
That's also what helped drive PS3 sales too, incidentally. It was an affordable Bluray player.
"affordable"
PS3's price was still insane though. $899, wasn't it?
Basically what you get for stuffing two computers into a box.
No, I'm pretty sure it wasn't that expensive
Ah, right, $599
Still super high for a game console at the time
Adjusted for inflation, $879
Yet they were still losing like 200 bucks per console
YEP
Bluray drives were very expensive
AND they stuffed a PS2 into it for backwards compatibility
Also that CPU architecture was... a bad idea
And indeed Xbox performed quite well
The Xbox 360, despite it's ~52% failure rate, sold well.
Yep, neck and neck
DS was amazing
Such a low spec and cheap device
Anyway, definitely gonna get a Switch 2, Metroid Prime 4 themed at launch, right? Right? Right?
I feel like the PS3 started out with a super high price point and then went down
but I might be mixing it up with one of the other consoles that did that
That's right
It went way down as time went on
afaik PS3's initial announcement had a price higher than $599.
In the later revisions of the hardware they took out the PS2 hardware, which itself saved them a bunch of money
Correct
Then they reannounced the release of the console with the currently known price a year later
They really struggled to make the PS3 affordable
That whole thing was kinda legendary
At the time, anyway
it was just wildly unaffordable in my eyes so I just... didn't look at Sony for several years
remember when the Xbox 360 launched with "full" and "core" versions so they could claim a lower price point, and everyone was making fun of the core?
GIANT ENEMY CRAB
is that the "for massive damage" conference?
Meanwhile Wii be like : lol you call that a price
Yes
Man, I worked so hard to save up for the Wii by launch day
Still remember standing in line for that in freezing temperatures on launch day XD #corememories
And apparently it was just impossible to find for a year after it came out
Guess what low price and a solid library will do for you

hm... what consoles was a GBA roughly equivalent to? like, was it more powerful than a SNES?
The GBA is basically an SNES, yes
I’ve actually been reading up on that architecture recently. It’s pretty much a more compact and modern version of an SNES
Wait the GBA is as powerful as the SNES?!
A bit more powerful but not much more
I didn’t know that.
its amazing how technology advances
It was a 32-bit embedded system, which was a jump from the SNES’ 16-bit architecture, but ultimately it didn’t actually differ too much
"I've never played on a real SNES" is suddenly a lot less true than I thought it was
thats not sarcasm, the snes was cutting edge for the time
It was!
and the GBA was also cutting edge for handheld tech
oh don't worry, that's clear even to a late arrival like me revisiting those older games
Yeah I didn’t know that they were so similar until very recently
some of you saw my Link to the Past reactions being basically "I keep forgetting this isn't a modern Zelda game, except when I have to save"
Basically it was just “what if we made an SNES again but now it’s the year 2001?”
What could you compare the Sega Saturn to?
a hot pocket
I haven’t read up on that architecture yet, but that’s a 5th gen console
Capable of 3D rendering
I haven’t played one in years.
I keep getting Sega Saturn and Genesis and the Dreamcast mixed up because they're all before-my-time consoles that aren't the (S)NES
somehow I'd never even heard of the "blast processing" meme until I watched The Entire History of Video Games
Incidentally
A very good series of dives into the architectures of different consoles
If anyone happens to care
SCOOP: In a company all-hands meeting this morning, game tech maker Unity addressed the pay-per-install debacle and floated several big changes to the controversial new policy, including a 4% cap on fees and customers self-reporting installations. https://t.co/pRxjO5uoPL

Lol
self-reporting
What could possibly go wrong!
if "self-reporting" means stuff like "the Steam client reports the install" then that's non-terrible I guess
?????????? SELF REPORTING?
on that very specific point
obviously no human customers are going to waste time on this
I guess that could be it, but thats very curious wording
They already told people to self-report, so that wouldn't be a change
it makes it sound like they expect people to personally report installs?
"customers self-reporting" does sound like it's specifying the stupid thing
Thats what I'm thinking
CUSTOMERS?????
Yes thats what it says
It does say that. But customers of Unity or of Unity based games?
I can literally only think of 1 situation where you'd do that
and its to troll devs
oh thats fair
customers could refer to devs
Like devs being told to report unique, non refunded, non bundle, paid installs or w/e
That can be interpreted in a number of ways, but again, that mechanism is already built into their "clarification" post from a couple days ago
Which everyone hated
Because it still involves problems
It doesn't solve anything
"We have never made a public statement before. That is how badly you've fucked up."
- Megacrit

Regardless it feels to me they aren’t really backing down on the policy which in of itself just means people will continue to flock to other engines.
This still stinks of a door in face approach
yep, the biggest problem is still that this was a "retroactive" change, in the sense that it applies to games which have already committed to the engine, which completely shattered trust
and the second biggest problem is that a per-install fee causes far more problems than it solves, even if we trusted Unity's alleged solutions; it's just lacking motivation over a revenue share
The “pray we don’t alter the deal further” meme has never been more true than for Unity right now…
Indeed. If that tweet is accurate, then they seem to want to manage the absolute bare minimum of a walkback and call it good.
Which is far from sufficient
I'm pretty sure that much of the broader dev community may not find anything short of removal of the executives to be a sufficient action to restore trust in their brand. That's definitely not going to happen, of course. I'm curious what they end up saying, but if they want to just put on a tiny band-aid and call it reconciliation then that's kinda sad.
Lmao. Self reporting
I feel the only possible reading of that policy is that with customers they mean developers
There is no fucking way that a player is going to email Unity to report that they are installing a game on their computer
No no, they knock on your door a random time every month and ask to check your computer to see if you installed any games
Also with a 4% cap it's just basically revenue share with extra steps
I feel like some devs would just pay them 4% of what they make from sales rather than trying to figure out how many installs happened

goddamit i visualized that
This sounds like fun
AMOGUS
Borderlands 2 turns 11 today
goddamn that tweet has 80k likes now
Messy situation
I can't tell if he overreacted or if he genuinely had a solid reason for doing this, but in any case unfortunately in this world the literal creator of a body of works can't dictate much about it legally like saying whether or not it's public domain, only whoever owns the rights and in this case DC insists they own Fables
If you decide to willingly sign off all rights to a work instead of merely licensing it, then it no longer belongs to you, and this is fine.
if you work for a company or even do any freelance work, the rule is that you don't own copyright on your work. Most contracts are written around this
(not mine though 🙂 I keep copyright on the code I write, it just has to be licensed appropriately)
when you don't have copyright on your work, you have no legal basis for declaring your work as being in the public domain
and contracts kinda need to be written around that, or every sufficiently large project could be trivially legally torpedoed by one disgruntled employee
of course a comic book is not that large of a team

So I am planning on GMing a Tails Of Equestria game. This will be with 6 players representing the 6 Elements of Harmony going through all of the scenario modules currently available.
All races from the books are available except Buffalo. I will be repurposing them as Yaks.
I already know Meganought wants to play, so all I need is 5 other brave creatures to heed the call of adventure.
This will be a voice chat game and cameras aren't required, but voice will be. I plan on starting this on October 1st and the games will be played on Sundays at 2pm CST for 1 or 2 hours (or whatever works according to work/school/sleep schedules.)
Please let me know if you're interested through DMs.

@arctic fern just so you don't miss seeing this
Okay.
Sounds like fun but I'm more of a text person
You encounter a pretty purple pony princess.
player>walk 5 north
You fall into a ravine. Maud Pie looks at you.

Zork is fun and all but I'm, talking about text roleplaying
Ah I know but the formatting made me think of Zork
The Hobbit text adventure
theres a hitchikers guide text adventure
its great
you start off specifically with "no tea"
and "no tea" is an important item
You eventually end up having both tea and no tea at the same time
i wasnt going to mention that part but yes
oh i once threw my tea at a door
the door was disapointed with me
Clever, meticulously crafted text adventures are a joy to play but no substitute for human interaction
have you MET humans?
yes
You're playing in my Sunday DnD game so yes
how do you know im human
how do i know you're human
I'm a bird.
I look in the mirror, and you look in the mirror
how can our eyes be real if mirrors aren't????
Man I can't believe Jaden Smith is 26 already
friend
Snek
one of my favorite bosses
in our rando, my Sierpes fight reward was only 20 rupees for someone's OoT game, but I did it anyway just because
MAC10 - Candy Apple
This is what you should do in the arcade version of the game:
||There's a secret reward, a reward for getting all five skulls, and a normal reward for just finishing it.||
come to think of it I'm not sure I ever did that
next rando
speaking of, I just finished 100%ing Yoku's Island Express with its official randomizer mode
omg this is so cool
I figured considering you can break the walls and floors in this minigame
blasphemous already felt a bit old school what with all these secret things especially how to even get to this place but this feels even more old school and I was weirdly okay with it
I was legitimately having fun even though it's a severely more stripped down version of the game
also apparently I have 80.92% completion
oh there we go, full immersion
man that hurts my eyes
the distorted slightly fisheye view lens thing fucks me up real bad
this one actually helps making it look a bit more retro without obliterating what's left of my eyesight

Yeah, sure
As a sidenote, I am pretty sure there are a number of laws in Japan that restrict foreign companies from aquiring Japanese companies, so I highly doubt those explorations were more than "it'd be nice if" about Nintendo
Nintendo rejected the buyout before the original Xbox.
Oh interesting that they aren't talking about aquisition tho
They are talking about a merger
I mean it's still not happening but it's a different beast
Nintendo is only interested with companies that share a similar culture and that's not Microsoft. But these are internal emails I'm sure they considered everyone.
WB is still an option given who is running that company.
