I don't see what saves have anything to do with it
They changed too much apparently for EA saves to be compatible, which is a good sign overall

Nice to see their still updating it

Respawn in early stages to porting Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to PS4/XBO https://t.co/pWVUOEZOm3

wow, so late into the current generation and major AAA games are still regularly being ported to last gen
iirc fifa 14 was ported to the ps2 lol
huh
Is the game good I haven’t played it yet I’ve only played the first one
oh, yes, anyone who liked J:FO and wants more of that should absolutely play JS
Oooooh. I’ve seen gameplay of it but I’ll get it soon
what are those TMNT designs
huh
play JavaScript
I wonder if the sequel will be TS. Time to find a fitting Star Wars name
they're mutant turtles who live in the sewers they're supposed to look nasty
I'm still not a fan of their voices. They are waaaaaaaay too young, even for teenagers. They sound like 9 year olds.
nah they sound like 13 year olds i knew in middle school
have you guys seen the original TMNT art
I knew many 13 year olds when I was in the Boy Scouts. Absolutely none of them sounded like that.
Correction: one sounded like that, now that I think back to it.
I have a 13 year old son right now
so what I'm hearing is Canadian kids sound more mature than American kids
I guess?
Where's a voice clip to compare?
Idk when me and my friends were 13 we sounded similar to them
i mean, at least they cast actual teenagers
Yeah
You tend to think 13 year olds look and feel older when you're that age and younger
And then when you grow up, they look like kindergarteners
Source: me as a 4th grader thinking 6th graders were basically adults, vs. Me as a high school senior thinking freshmen were babies
lol wife made a new Dark Souls character. On her way to the Taurus demon, summons help. Dude is "Nazgul", wearing the iron golem armor with a big sword and casting fire storm. He's gotta be like level 17. What a great showboat
Surprising that she was able to find any summons at all on Dark Souls 1 of all games
still tons of them
the gaping dragon or whatever it's called, there's often like 5+ signatures
(she's in the remastered version which I guess came out semi recently)
Even the remastered version which has overwritten the original release on most stores is pretty dead and has been reported since release to not work very properly with the online
It caused it to go dead pretty quickly and people mostly stuck with ds2 and ds3 so it's surprising for me to hear that someone is having a very active online experience with the game
it's not like "there's always a summon everywhere", but there are key areas where you can find them
You can only place summon signs on specific areas in DS1 so yeah of course, but back in 2017 even before the remaster when I was playing DS1 for the first time I never really managed to find much activity online unfortunately
well, like, there are always lots of people in Anor Londo for the O&S fight
huh, weird, I wonder if people went back to it nowadays
IDK
Has anyone heard of Billie Bust Up? It's a musical platformer in the works, and the songs are composed by Daniel Ingram of all people!
They sound soooo good! The man can't miss!
gargoyles, Quelaag, and Manus tend to have pretty good traffic too
Nice, kinda jealous since when I was playing DS1 I had a pretty lonely experience
I don't even think I was even invaded at all
But to be fair it was the original release... still, nice
it's fun seeing all the crazy characters popping up, even on Elden Ring people do joke or cosplay characters a lot still
they should've cast actual turtles, smh
Dark Souls 1 has a very dedicated fanbase
The majority of which are playing in US time
(also they play the remaster)
lmao, me and tallcat are going to EVO

Well the first one came out 2 years before Switch release, and Splatoon 2 came out on Switch the same year the console was out
So they probably thought it's not necessary
According to Todd McFarlane at a spotlight panel in San-Diego Comic Con, the character Spawn is set to come to "one of the biggest games on the planet" in October, with people speculating it to be Fortnite.
Now it's not confirmed to be for Fortnite and it could be for any game…

can't wait for Twitter/X to die already so that this kind of shit vagueposting is limited to clickbait articles

Social media isnt going away even if twitter actually dies
given Mcfarlane toys makes the fort toys, and Todd has been pushing for spawn to be added to the game for a while now, it likely will be fort
also its not vagueposting its literally something he had said at comic con
Yeah but Twitter's the main cause of it so it gets the blame
You can just make up whatever you want, attach a few images, send tweet
the main difference being is that the person who posted that tweet isnt just some random person
theyre a notable leaker within the fort community
We definitely see it the most because twitter is huge in our demographic, but the few times I open facebook the content is actually so much worse
So dont expect social media to get better even if twitter dies

oh well, Spawn is fuckin' busted in SC2, jesus
maybe it's better if he's added to Fortnite instead and I can continue ignoring the media conglomerate posing as a video game
Stop giving fighting game characters projectiles in a melee based system!

theres a trend on FB of big pages making up stories and finding video footage that suits it, and then at the end of the video it says in tiny letters "video footage unrelated" and it gets MILLIONS of likes and shares. The facebook demographic which is obviously much older than twitter/discord does not give a damn about fact checking
People making absolute bank on made up stories posing them as news
Yeah
it's funny how FB transitioned from being a platform predominately used by young people to boomers

@uneven epoch it's time to get funky

That's actually pretty smart
Hmm do they include Elite controller gen 1?
That one looks like an elite controller 2, I wonder if there is even significant difference between parts
The joysticks on my gen 1 need to be replaced
And I’m not really up for spending $200 on a gen 2
Sticks and paddles are swappable between elite 1 and 2

Tomorrow
It's September 6 for PS5.
The delay for PS5 is because they're having trouble with the local split screen, iirc.
that's odd, why does the steam page say august 6th
oh wait
it says october 6th 2020 💀
I'm stupid
Convenient!
god I wish they allowed you to preload it
it's gonna take hours to download with my speed
I won't be able to play until night time probably
It might take a while for the download for me too, which is why when it releases I'm just gonna start the download and go to sleep. That way, it should be ready by the time I'm awake.
I mean, 120+ gigabytes is still a lot. It might take a little longer, Idk. I also might have to clear out some space so that I can download it in the first place.
Wish the game was a bit smaller, but it's probably all those cutscenes taking up that space, lol.
120 gigabytes it's gonna take like 6 hours to download at my speed
I bought it

Is that an obscure indie thing? It's Xbox Game Studios
I feel like being bought by Microsoft immediately de-indies you
significant sarcasm was involved, but it's not exactly a tentpole release I'd expect everyone to be familiar with

I'm keeping all my RPG juice for tomorrow, but at some point I'll try pentiment
Heard good things about it
I finally figured out how to get this bean.

Reminder to uninstall Baldur’s Gate 3 before the release date to avoid any technical issues with the release version.
Also, reminder: this is your last chance to get the Deluxe Edition of Baldur's Gate 3 before the launch. If you buy the game while it's still in early access, you'll get all the Deluxe Edition content for free.
Im just waiting to install when its fully released
This includes the digital soundtrack, a digital artbook, exclusive in-game content (armor sets mostly), and other goodies.
From everyone who has played it, they're saying it is THE best turn-based RPG ever made, possibly surpassing even Divinity Original Sin 2 (which was made by the same devs).
If it goes as well as I hope it does, it may even be a Game of the Year contender.
so many games this year
Half of them be shit, half of them be BOMB.
It’s potentially going to be one of the best RPGs in years, as I understand it
The expectations are high
I plan to give it a solid go, having had the early access for a while. It looks like it’ll be quite fun.
see now that's high praise
I'll be honest, my only real experience with RPGs is the persona series, which is a turn based thing too, and for me now so far, those games are tiers above anything I've ever played
I like how "best <genre> of all time" was implicitly placed below "game of the year"
so would it really change my life as much as persona did

I would be surprised if it wasn’t nominated for GotY at TGA this December
Very surprised, and honestly outraged.
I don’t really have much of a horse in this race. I’m just looking forward to it.
BG3, Starfield… what else would be a shoe-in for GOTY this year?
(I'll just be watching from afar since it's not my thing)
did I miss Starfield
It’s coming out in about 30 days
oh it's another Bethesda RPG, yeah that'd explain me not knowing
A little over 30 days
Bethesda in space, yeah
I don’t have super high hopes but it’s expected to be space game of the year
how many space games even come out per year
would re4 count
Yeah, maybe
dead space?
Usually a few
remakes definitely count yes
Dead Space, yeah I could see that one
ff16 too
Oh yeah and FF16
especially when people unironically recommend playing both the original and the remake
That’ll fill the list
oh and spider man 2
in case its good, which it probably will
q4 2023 is going to be wild
I could bet it’s FF16, Starfield, TotK, Spider-Man 2, and BG3 for GOTY nominees. Swap out Spider Man with Dead Space maybe.
Armored Core will probably do well too, we'll see how well
Oh damn, yeah that too
I don't even know how to look up which games I played this year that also came out this year (without tediously checking each separately)
oh yeah, that's coming out
That’s a tough list this year
Also Remnant 2 reportedly did very well
fromsoft can't do wrong can they
who would win me or John Baldur's Gate 3
I think this might actually answer your question: https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/15g217t/new_to_this_game_unlearn_what_video_games_have/

AC is supposed to be a smaller title than other from soft titles so they might not get quite the acclaim they usually get, also it's more experimental, as they are not just repeating their tried and true souls formula
But more hybridizing with another genre
the new spiderman game will probably end up being good, but i already know they probably wont include a couple costumes that i like within it as unlockable costumes lol
WOW they're really subverting all the "video gamey" things we've come to have gotten used to
Now that is really cool
Yup!
Almost all of this could be done in D:OS 2 as well
And let me tell you, it was AWESOME.
no wonder so many AAA devs were complaining on twitter
Larian Studios is the GOAT.
People were complaining?
To be fair, most of what they say was already in Divinity but with the D&D license this time, which is exactly what I want out of it
who is the main character of Baldur's Gate 3
[Player] I imagine
We'll see how much freedom this one allows once I'm playing it, I have high expectations but I don't know if I buy it'll be revolutionary
But like, seriously, go wild with this game. Explore, experiment, and be amazed. You thought Elden Ring had lots of secrets? Please, that was nothing. People are reporting 200+ hours into the first act of Baldur's Gate 3 alone, and are still finding hidden places.
Sit in every chair. Click on every wall. Move over every brick. Look under every rock. ANYTHING could be a hidden lever or mechanism to open up new quests, new dungeons, new treasures, and hidden rooms.
So far the only truly revolutionary RPG I played in recent years has been Disco Elysium
is that the gay one
The amount of code involved in this game must be a nightmare.
is all the ship art ive seen of Harry and Kim a lie ,??????
It's a custom player character, but the tentative "canonical" name is Tav. But that's usually not everyone's first pick, and I think the devs knew that so that's why the name is boring.
I don't know if there is an outcome in which you are explicitly involved with him romantically, but he is adorable
huh, most of this sounds like a standard argument for getting someone into the great old-school choice-heavy CRPGs or "immersive sims" (I guess it's good that a game newer than Prey is trying this again but the implication that BG3 is the first to do all of these things has me going
)
I can't play that game as a bad guy because the weight of disappointing Kim would be too much
i like harry's muttonchops and ive seen official art of him without them and they make me want to cry
They have 70000 variations to the endings. Naturally, most of these are only very slight differences, but that still shows how dedicated these devs are.
Yeah some of those items in that list made me think “has this person never played an MMO?”
I’m particularly confused by that “you can’t fail quests” item… uh, yeah? That’s pretty standard.
It came out, it was good
oh cool
Then they released a DLC which was also well recieved
I have a friend who has wanted me to play Prey for years but I’ve never gotten around to it
I tried playing it twice but somehow it can't seem to catch me
Maybe I wasn't in the mood
Prey was maybe the best immersive sim since Deus Ex, and people who are into that adored it, but that is a bit of a niche since it demands so much of the player, so general gaming audiences often forget it exists
They just never wanted to sell me on it other than be like “you need to play it”
i think im just not in the right circles cause i feel like i never heard about it again a month after it cane out
came
yeah I am definitely not in the mood for another CRPG/IS at the moment, probably won't be for a while
well if you're not into those games then it's probably a good sign
Not necessarily. I've played plenty of games where you could fail quests and not get a reward because you didn't do it properly (for example, letting the person you're escorting get killed).
I am mostly in the mood for BG3 because I really like D&D and this one seems to be pretty awesome.
But yeah, if it wasn't D&D themed I would probably wait.
I know nothing about dnd, would I still like this game?
clarification: is it just themed? I thought I heard it was doing D&D mechanics as well (like BG1-2?)
I'm still riding the "Honor Among Thieves" hype
I think so, yes.
No it has the mechanics from the tabletop
Well yeah, I’ve played some games like that too, but that feels more like the exception rather than the rule. Most RPGs I’ve played never had a failure mechanic.
Mostly
There are some differences and concessions because it's a videogame and some things don't translate perfectly
Also I think it's the 1st big videogame using the 5e system
ok, yeah, personally I do not enjoy D&D mechanics in video game form
I enjoy them to the extent that I already know them well...
In most RPGS there is the problem that you learn as you go, and if you fuck up you learn it halfway the campaign and it sucks a lot.
But in this one, I'm intimately familiar with the mechanics already, I skip the learning curve and I can start right away to have fun with them
I thought Solasta: Crown of the Magister did this already?
yep that's a big part of my problem with the games that people usually call RPGs; I can never trust them to remain playable if I'm not following a walkthrough to avoid mistakes that won't hurt me until 10+ hours later when it's too late to learn any better
Also 5e mechanics are relatively simple compared to previous D&D system which also helps
Many 3.5 games I enjoyed them in videogame forms a bit more at times because I didn't have to do math
I'm going into this game almost completely blind. I haven't seen much gameplay footage (not that I need to, it's basically the same as D:OS 2, which I'm already very familiar with), I know nothing of the story beyond the basic premise, and I have absolutely no idea what it's going to be like.
I haven't gone almost completely blind into a game in many, many years.
5e was the first version that really clicked with my group to the point we didn't have to reference the book during a session
huh, I go near blind into most of my games
I played a bit of early access to get a feel, seems like Divinity but D&D, which is more than fine by me, Divinity is great
Except I actually care about the world and the organisations because I am already familiar with the world, which makes it better for me
(technically I'm familiar with Planescape now, but I assume that's not enough in this context
)
Nowhere near enough
These sort of things are the silliest numbers. If there are sixteen things that could each vary one line in the dialog that gets you almost all the way there. Seventeen would overshoot dramatically.
I'm probably going to play a barbarian paladin to emulate a character I played in one of Flitter campaigns, (technically she was a zealot barbarian but that subclass isn't in the game, but I can get pretty close with multiclassing)
I can't wait
Still unsure how many levels in each
I'm probably gonna be a rogue. I really want to try them out and see how they work
mm-hmm, a "number of endings" metric is so easy to game that to even present one is a red flag
Oh yeah, what's the level cap for Baldur's Gate 3? Wasn't it 15 or something?
it's rare enough for a game to have >5 meaningfully different endings
12
Ah
I don't think it's a red flag, it's just an easy headline to get.
Why do I feel that Baldur's Gate 3 is overhyped?
Lower than I thought
Might be overhyped, doesn't mean it'll be bad tho
ok, red flag for the quality of the source doing the praise, which ties into going for easy headlines
same, I'm always wary of hype
same for Garfield Starfield
however you want to phrase it, we're all saying the same thing
Like, let's be clear, this game has a year of pretty damn successful Early Access, and the developers are the authors of two of the most acclaimed turn based RPGs of all time, it probably wont be bad.
Will it be as good as people claim? Ehh, we'll see when it comes out
Yeah, of course there's no way in hell that it'll have that many actual endings, but still, having over 70000 variations does show that the devs are dedicated to keeping things polished and rewarding for players who go the extra mile. There may be only like 10 actual endings or so (Idk how many, I'm just guessing), but that's still a loooot of choice.
yeah, good early access isn't the norm
70,000 variations of what?
The ending
What does that even mean?
Different combinations of cutscenes
Most of that is just little deviations involving choices your character makes throught the game
The entire ending sequence. Which in practice means maybe a dozen choices change a line of dialog somewhere in it.
Oh, so basically flags that changes the flavor text.
The ending seems to be pretty modular, as in, what happens to a lot of the sidequests or your companions will change various details in it, which is where people get the 7000 permutations
Wait, is it only 7000? I thought it was 70000?
Seventy thousand was the given number
Ah, okay, so I didn't misread then
I don't even care about the number, it's a buzzfeed headline
"18 quintillion planets."
mm-hmm, a permutation count on its own doesn't mean anything, gotta experience the game to judge how varied the ending is
17k actually
Though seven thousand and seventy thousand are just three choices considered apart
out of curiosity, what would you all say is the game you've played with the most meaningful ending variation?
To compare apples to apples tho, Witcher 3 did a very similar things and they got to 40 variations with 3 different meaningful endings.
So even by that standard, it's a pretty impressive number of variations
Seventeen thousand and seven thousand are about one choice apart. Combinatorics are fun.
As in, game with most normal endings, or game with most variation between the normal endings?
I just hope the game doesn't pull an ME3 at least, otherwise a new lcd pixel will be made.
well Witcher 2 probably had more than 3 endings (and is my personal favorite on this point) but I don't want to get into the weeds of whether 8 is the right number or too low or too high
Which game I played with most endings or which games I did the most endings in?
I phrased it that way to avoid the fallacy of counting discrete A, B, C endings as a metric for how good the ending system is
it can't be quantified, which is part of why it's worth asking the poll question
Honestly I have played approximately zero games more than once so I have very little idea how many endings any of them have
By deaful I'll say Witcher 3 but I don't know
Or how much they might actually vary
My experience of replaying games with choices is that doing so a second time will just shatter the illusion of choice
I don't mind it actually, I did both sides of Witcher 2 at some point.
It also depends from the game and how they do the variations
It's funny how people hate the Deus Ex Human Revolution and the Mass Effect 3 because to pick an ending you just have to push a different button at the end, but actually, at the time, I thought those were pretty convenient.
Didn't have to replay the whole game to get a different outcome
Well, its mainly because when the game came out (ME3)... it only had different colors and very tiny cutscene differences.
The extended dlc did help at least, but it was pretty brutal the comparisons.
tbf I get the complaint that just 3 buttons in a room is a pretty game-y and immersion breaking presentation of the choice; the original Deus Ex is hardly subtle about your 3 options but the choice arises much more naturally, especially since you have to actually do a level or two differently to get to the place where you trigger the ending you've chosen
I played it much later and I enjoyed my time with ME3.
Even tho I have to admit that ME2 final mission was actually masterfully done.
It's so special that I actually don't even blame anyone to not do something like that, it's one of those feats of storytelling that seem like magic to me and I don't even know how one would go about trying to accomplish it
ME3 was also a case of hype and marketing clashing very heavily with the actual game; in particular they explicitly stated the ending would not be N buttons in a room and yet that's exactly what it was
so that one likely benefits from playing it years later removed from that context
An oddity with the ME3 Extended Ending DLC is that a few cutscenes that were good, got worse somehow. Like certain graphical details were lost and compression got higher in some scenes. It was odd.
But then again, it was probably a factor of the team getting overwhelmed with work.
let me try rephrasing the original question
It’s also that ME3’s ending was changed at the last minute due to a mix of publisher meddling and artistic desire to keep the element of surprise
what game(s) do you personally think had the most immersive and impactful multi-ending or ending variation system; anything from a single choice the whole plot masterfully builds to or a thousand choices seamlessly integrated into a highly varied ending sequence or something far more subtle or creative
Citadel DLC was a love letter and an apology for that and it was phenomenally done
personally my picks for that would be Witcher 2, Silent Hill 2 and Planescape: Torment
Yeah, deadlines were a problem too
There’s a whole story there where I can hardly blame them. I’m mad about it because the original ending was better, but it is what it is
And I think Citadel sorta makes up for it
I like what SH2 did
ME2 is probably the most impressive I've seen but I liked Witcher 3 more because I was more invested in the characters
Dragon Age 1 was also really good
ME2 was cool and all, but I never understood why that one's on a pedestal since it mostly follows the (now-)familiar format of "the more of these sidequests you did, the more good things happen / bad things don't happen"
yeah, that's one of the upsides
It was sorta new at the time
at least when I played it it was pretty obvious that nobody was dying because I did every sidequest
You can still mess up if you make the wrong choices
Even if you have full loyalty and Normandy upgrades, people can still die
I think it made a whole lot of tematic sense, you are the leader of a team, and making a team more cohesive and trust in you more, improves its effectivness
Since the last mission is formatted in "Very dangerous mission we might make if we are really good at" it played really well as a metric of how good of a leader you are
The better ending you get
I want to say Armored Core: For Answer, but that game has some pretty limited choices until the very end
to be clear I'm not saying there's anything "wrong" with ME2's ending sequence
it's "standard" but very well-executed, thoroughly enjoyable the whole way through
it just doesn't have some truly unique thing elevating it above that
"I am Commander Rainbow Dash, and this is my favorite store on the Cidatel."
It wasn't just random "Jack likes you more, now she wont die" but more of a "Jack is now an integrated part of the team, she might make it"
Also there is the idea that you assign different people to tasks during the mission, and if you know what they are good at, it also influences it
right, I was of course oversimplifying a bit, it's good that it's possible to still eff up during the mission itself
It just worked really well in the fantasy of the game you being this elite military leader
Possibly
If you don't fuck it up
It was really rewarding in that sense
I think I like linear stories more, in general
I don't have a preference
As long as they are well written
They scratch different itches
part of what I was getting at with phrasing the question the way I did is that mere quantity of endings or story branches is not inherently a good thing
I must admit, a linear story is harder to fuck up.
most people would probably put Silent Hill 2 into the "linear" bucket, for example
Silent Hill 2 is kind of special because it has multiple endings, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to try to get them all or anything
You just kinda get what you get
And it's fine
My favourite story in a game is FFXIV which is as linear as you can get, but there is something in making your own choices matter.
I don't even care about the ending that much actually, just having different branches that finish at the same spot would probably be just as satisfying to me.
See, I never go blind into a game. For one thing, I usually buy a game long after I first hear about it and have been reading this and that and the other thing about it (to, you know, know if it's a good use of my limited budget and especially time or not). For another, almost the first thing I do with practically any game is to look up how to play it so I don't make rookie mistakes, or at least am less likely to make rookie mistakes. In the case of RPGs this would most definitely mean looking up build guides.
in my case it was more like "after all of that, this feels like the only way the story could've possibly ended" and then I learn how other people would get a totally different ending and also feel like it was the perfect way to conclude that whole story
it somehow taps into that cliche of every reader seeing a story differently and figures out how to pick the emotionally right ending for the player without them knowing there's ever a choice being made
Yeah, it's a good system
Except the ||ufo ending|| but you don't get that one by chance
I also felt that way
I've read the technical details on how it works and I still don't understand why that leads to the "emotionally right ending"
it's just ineffable
also I should've listed Signalis before, somehow it also managed this same trick where I got the emotionally perfect ending for me and cannot explain how
||Lesbian space magic||, duh
Clearly the only answer
I didn't mention the Nier or Drakengard games, because those are linear games despite having multiple endings
Since you are supposed to do them all in order
I'm probably going to have to play Nier one of these days
They are very interesting
Also surprising progressive at times for 13 years old games from a japanese developer.
Clearly Yoko Taro does a lot of drugs
Yoko Taro is an absolute madlad
My running theory is that he just wears the mask so people can't check his pupils
Nier is pretty solid
It's a lot, especially Automata
You have to come ready to tackle a lot of philosophy, it's not an everyday kind of game
It's presented in an entertaining way, but the endings are going to suck if you don't at least tackle with the questions it asks at some point
that's pretty much what I mean by "I'll have to"
what little I've heard about it has me convinced it is exactly the kind of thing I will love when I'm in the right mood to put that much focus and brainpower into it
Oh yeah, they are definitely worthwhile experiences to have.
so for at least a few years now I've been avoiding learning anything remotely concrete about it
(other than the vague awareness that there's more than one Nier so I'm not quite that lost)
My favourite factoid is still that the only reason papa Nier exists, is that they didn't think we liked twink boys in the west
Nintendo in the meantime, releases the 23th Zelda title, laughing its ass from the other room
I am curious at what point in the franchise that became a conscious goal
I personally also think the story is a bit more compelling in some ways as papa Nier, so it's not all bad
But yeah, it generally flows better as brother Nier
It's interesting how the story still pretty much works both ways tho
For the curious, very minor spoilers
||There are a few dialogues, related to a vague romantic confession, and one about the power of friendship, which come really weird when the dude is like, a 40+ years old dude, so I can see why brother Nier is the deafult canon protagonist, but for many the idea of trying to save your daughter is a more compelling fantasy than saving your little sister in the west, because japanese people seem to have a weird thing about sisters if anime is to be believed||
what on earth is Nier about
There is not a simple answer
Like, I'm not sure there is a complicated answer I could give either
i thought it followed that on e lady
First of all, which Nier?
the best possible answer
Nier Replicant or Automata?
i didnmt know there were multiple
lol
They are barely related to each other and you can play them in either order too, it's not a normal franchise
It's more a vibe that make them part of the same franchise
i see
for whenever the mood finally does strike me, which one(s) should be played in what order? to the extent that has an answer
To give you a simple answer that wouldn't spoil anyone, they are action rpg games with some bullet hell elements, that tend to play with your expectations and try to deliver a deeper story than you would expect from the genre.
Hard to answer that too, I played Automata first and Replicant 2nd because when i played Automata, the other one only existed as an Xbox game
It's impossible to tell which one you'd like the most because they do cover very different themes
Personally I think Replicant is less ambitious but also more approchable for its story, but you might vibe with the more high concept questions Automata asks
Most of it tbh sounds exaggerated to me. Sure, maybe you can talk to animals...but do they have anything interesting to say?
Ultimately it really doesn't matter which one you play first, they reference each other only in very distant ways
Replicant is the first one chronologically if that matters
Speaking from experience in Divinity:OS1&2 there are whole quests lines that you can only do if you talk to animals, or solutions to quests, so yeah, it was a pretty big deal in those games at least.
Will it be in this one? Who knows?
I mean, the spell "Talk With Animals" can be pretty important in normal D&D, so I'm sure that Larian will use it to great effect in BG3.
wait is Baldur's Gate 3 the one where you can romance bears
I think so
Yes
You can ||romance a druid which then can turn into a bear during sexy times||
Slight difference
And probably for the better
But why
Because why not?

And apparently some of the devs finished up some final bits that supposedly makes the bear romance look tame.
This probably wont be the case, but I kind of wish that if you were an halfling or a gnome, and you get the scene, you just get a gameover screen
because it'd be really funny
LOL
Maybe I didn't quite convey what I meant--I wasn't saying so much that "talking to animals will be useless," but rather that I suspect that in most cases talking to animals (or corpses, or random NPCs) will be mildly interesting but not really important or that valuable. Sure, sometimes you'll get a quest or get a solution to a quest or whatever, but most of the time probably not, because there are sure to be an enormous number of animals, corpses, and NPCs and it would be infeasible to make them all important (and rather silly, too).
Idk i dont wanna watch my character have relations with a bear

I mean, I don't either, but the whole point of it is so that people who crave the more ridiculous and outlandish style of D&D can have an absolute blast playing the game, even turning the serious romances into silly, stupid romps.
I guess
It doesn't need to be foundamental, in the same way that having a high persuasion or insight wont solve every situation, it just needs to be a useful tool if you have it
You don't even have to romance anyone if you don't want to.
It's a completely optional side thing.
I know
It's interesting that they didn't enable romance between player controlled characters, even if one of the characters is an origin with a normally available romance.
Probably wanted to avoid weird interactions
Also speaking of romances in video games not everyone is bisexual in Cyberpunk 2077 which is kinda cool
(as in, if two players play in the same game)
So if you're female v you cant romance certain characters. Same with male v
As a sidenote I am kind of happy they are bringing back origins from their other game, they were a really smart idea and fit really well in Baldur's Gate
Doesn't stop the players from roleplaying the two of them being in love anyway, lol.
You know it'll happen
Yeah but you can do that in Discord if you want, they can't hunt you down to stop you

i hope the romance goes deeper than in Skyrim
If they could Hasbro would already have sent the hitmen to this server
Apparently it goes pretty deep. You actually have to actively work to keep the romance going, and you can even be in polyamorous relationships too if you want.
Hell, you may even be able to romance the whole team.
Or most of it, anyway. I don't know if you can, I'm just guessing.
I think it's not as simple tho, some characters wont be as fine with you being with other partners I seem to gather, we'll see how it shake out.
Seems like they gave them interesting personalities too
can you gay
I guess I'm still not conveying what I mean. The original reddit post brought up talk to animals in a section labeled "games have taught you to ignore part of the environment". If most animals don't really have anything to say, though, this isn't really true. There will surely still be plenty of animals, corpses, NPCs, and what not which you may talk to once to see if there's anything going on and then happily ignore, just because it's obviously infeasible to make every instance tie into a quest or something else important. (And anyway I ignore parts of my environment everyday regardless
)
I know that the vampire dude is a massive tsundere.
i like how animals in Lord of the Rings are shown that they're able to talk and have thoughts like a human but it's never mentioned again
like the fox in "A Shortcut to Mushrooms"
The ||bear scene|| they showed was a gay scene, which was pretty cool for a big game to just show on a big stream to like, pretty much anyone.
I liked that fox. He was an adorable one-scene wonder.
apparently he had more important business lol
They have a lesbian almost-kiss in one of the trailers, iirc.
And there's also a ton of other scenes in the most recent trailer that showcase a LOT of gay interactions.
Including ||hand-holding
||
I'm very curious, I love the Forgotten Realms, and this seems like it'll be an impressive representation of that world.
i don't know anything about DND except that it inspired Doom partially
You will actually be able to explore every bit of the city of Baldur's Gate.
Everything you see in the trailers? You can walk to it.
Or teleport. Or fly. Or hover.
It was originally gonna be several sections, but they decided to group it into one MASSIVE city level.
Larian Studios is trustworthy. I will vouch for every member on that team.
We'll see.
I kinda want to see how the character creation goes, from what they shown they added a lot since early access
Which I'm happy, the EA one was a bit restrictive
I mean, it's early access.
I like rpg games cuz i can make my character look like what i wanna look like irl
only games im looking forward to the rest of the year are Super Mario Bros Wonder and Super Mario RPG remake
I plan to get Rift Apart for PC once it gets cheaper
I didn't get a lucky code unlike Spider-Man :^)
And spider man 2
I must say, I did love all the Panel from Hell streams they did, all the cosplays, these people are such nerds.
this has been a really good year for games
And at least FFXVI released only on PS5 so I don't have to worry about that one
FFXVI is super good
But then Remnant 2, BG3, AC6, Starfield, City Skylines 2, Lies of P, Cyberpunk expansion (which I don't care about but a rework of the game mechanics will come with it so I'll check it out without buying the DLC)
They just don't stop.
Whoever is releasing anything in the next 2 months they are probably fucked
I didn't really have to worry about that one either tho since we got it for my dad for fathers day
Spiderman same thing for me, I don't plan to buy consoles
So while I would like to play it, it's at least one less game to worry about
what games are coming out in August and September
Basically that's the list I just gave, except I think City Skylines 2 is october
In that mess Payday 3 also releases
Which I just don't care about but some people will definitely love
HOLY SHIT QUAKECON IS SOON
new Doom new Doom new Doom 🤞
Quake reboot Quake reboot Quake reboot
I also dont have to worry about starfield or lies of p cuz gamepass
Yes I definitely wouldn't play Lies of P if it wasn't for gamepass
FNAF anniversary is also soon
regarding speak with animals / speak with undead -- my take on it is that it's a good way for a DM or game designer to include riddle-grade hints on occasion, like, sometimes a player can pick up on "huge red man was here" and put it together with other hints
Yeah I love keeping in mind that animals have a low int, or might pay attentions to different things than a human would
like rather than colors a dog might describe things by scents
some animals can't see the same set of colors as humans
some animals are nocturnal so they'll naturally have been aware of nighttime stuff instead of daytime stuff
Which is interesting, if you are looking for a murderer perhaps asking if someone that smelled of blood passed through there.
Which might be the murderer, or the local butcher, depending by contextual clues
How much they'll do that in the game we'll see tho
It's more of a tabletop thing
And different DMs do things differently
As a sidenote, the dragonborn looks so good that I'm kind of sad I'll be playing a elf the first time through probably
They really knocked it out of the park with that in BG3
yeah, really depends on the DM or game designer how well speak with [dead/animals/plants] is implemented and what kind of info can be gleaned from it
press The Crew Motorfest to pay respects
many people are expecting a Quake 2 re-release (like what happened to Quake 1 two years ago)
I wouldn't expect new Doom or Quake though
a boy can dream
for some reason this reminded me of Twilight Princess, where you can talk to Epona in wolf form, but she basically says "...this is super weird. I hope you go back to being human soon."
Epona !!!!!! i love her
feels weird that only two games have an Epona
?
My Littl ePona
OoT, MM, TP, BotW, TotK
oh right MM
even if we aren't counting BotW/TotK because she's amiibo, Link's horse that he has in official artwork is referred to as Epona
I don't count BotW/TotK on this since Epona is just a name you could assign to a procedurally generated horse with no unique story or character; the unique horses that are in those games are not Link's trusty steed
oh I don't know anything about amiibos
I always name AIs I create for ponies EPONA, the Electronic PONy Analogue.
Such a nice name.
Such a nice horse.
Disco Elysium for $12 if you subscribe to Humble Choice, you can cancel right afterwards and keep the game on steam
https://www.humblebundle.com/membership
sorry i don't know why im so anal about Zelda
Yee I’ll probably play a lesbian character in BG3 (late response I know XD)
Hoping there will be plenty of LGBTQ relationship options in that game
Yeah there’s a balance between statistical realism and player choice to be struck there. I was mildly disappointed I couldn’t follow a specific romance, but it did give me a nice alternative.
Same
I was female v and wanted to romance Panam
But you can only romance her as male v
I just finished Super Mario Bros, because I kept seeing speedrun videos and wanted to finish it for myself.
it's also a good excuse to look at Mesen2
did you like it
I'll probably play a bisexual character (unsure of the gender yet) and start a polycule if I can, lol.
yes, though I remember Mario being way less floaty for some reason… it's like he's on ice skates
It's also interesting because they already confirmed we wont get all the way to lvl 20, I wonder if they are keeping some levels for DLC stuff
Or they were more comfortable not going all the way given how the later levels are pretty broken and hard to balance for in 5e
Polycule would be great. It’s a bit unfortunate that poly relationships are basically never possible in games.
Apparently it is possible in BG3.
I'd love to have a secondary "epilogue" campaign that's unlocked after the main campaign is completed (or as DLC or something, sure), and that one takes you all the way until level 20. Imagine how awesome battles will be if you're fighting at level 20, haha.
I actually don't remember if Baldur Gate games had expansions but I remember Neverwinter Night games expansions very well
So it's not a foreign concept
BG1 had the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion, and BG2 had Throne of Bhaal (and then apparently some much later expansions and spin-offs)
Numbers are out. Nintendo sold 3.91 million Switch during Q1 2024
Note that "2024" here is a fiscal year. Japanese fiscal years start and end in March, and use the year it ends
Q1 2024 means Apr 2023~Jun 2023
Nintendo is expecting 15mil hardware sales total, which is 16.5% decrease from last year. This will put Switch at about ~140mil total sales.
Unless they stop selling the console, it is likely that it will hit 150m+ at certain point, which means that it is possible that it will become the second and eventually the best sold console in history.
TotK sold 18.51mil copies
One interesting thing is that among 3.9mil hardware they sold, about 2.8mil were OLED model.
This includes the TotK edition.
My brother wanted to buy Zelda edition switches and resell them at home since they're super expensive there
Want to earn exclusive Baldur’s Gate 3 loot while supporting your favorite streamers? There’s a Twitch Drops campaign for that! why would I ever want those
Metroid Prime 4 is likely going to be the last Switch game and also going to be a launch title for Switch 2, I’d wager.
Still listed as a Switch game but doesn’t preclude them from doing that
Here’s the full list of games on the docket incidentally
We have an official list as of yesterday.
Ah yeah that’s easier than the IGN link
BG3 dropping in 50 minutes
MP4 could’ve been kicked to next gen entirely, who knows.
Could be, they still list it as TBA even with the other two being 2024.
There's also the question of what is a launch game for Switch 2, With Zelda and Mario being this year.
im so excited for the Princess Peach game it looks so cool
in before it turns out they developed a whole other zelda game in secret alongside tears of the kingdom
You play as ||Zelda in the past||
I have 30 mins and maybe more depending on download to decide which class to play in BG3.
I like how the temp game title is literally just "A brand new game with Princess Peach starring as the main character"
They should keep that name.
i wonder wgat it will be called
Hello, do you have Princess Peach will star as the main character in a brand new game?
Yes, it is written like this even in the original JP pdf
It's time.
97.7 GB to download
Let's all crash steam's servers.
have fun
It'll be a few hours anyway for me
While you wait you can go over the rule changes from tabletop:
https://bg3.wiki/wiki/D%26D_5e_Rule_Changes
download time
Being able to cast level spells as an action and bonus is a change to note.
Assuming the changes for rage from EA sticks to the current version, I'm definitely going to play a dex barbarian
The expanded class list.
6 hours
If I let it rip I could do it in 5 hours but then I wouldn't be able to use my internet for anything
And that's a bit much
Today's ideal since I'm gonna have guests over for dinner, so I wont be stuck looking at the download bar
That said, I hope they do get their ass out of my house not too late, or I might have to boot them out
tell them to gtfo and go buy and play baldurs gate
It'll have been over 7 years since the last 3d mario so thats an obvious one
please dont remind me how long ago 2016 was

Isn't that insane
I do have a gigabit connection
RICOCHET has entered the chat 🛡️
Starting in Season 05, the kill feed will notify lobbies when #TeamRICOCHET and it's systems have removed a problem player from the game.
3126
221
our "gigabit" only gets like 15MB

Yeah. Generally one 3d mario per console
Galaxy was the exception
Bowser's Fury?
Ouch. How much you paying for it?
That was basically an expansion to a switch port of a wii u game
£40ish split between 4 of us, shout outs to virgin media being a garbage company that has a monopoly
(monthly)
89 euro monthly here... but also virgin media
Are you guys still in the "first 12/24 month discount" period?
(yay, finished downloading, now in the verifying stage)
inb4 it’s called Metroid Prime 4: Samus Aran Stars as the Main Character in a Brand New Game!
no, ours was a first 6 months discount, we're in a relatively busy area but not built up built up enough to get the good stuff

Did you uninstall before doing that
I never had it installed
I see though it stopped downloading at 100gb out of 125 so something happened in the download
Yeah
Our fiber is also pretty slow, since the last bit is normal copper wire.
But I can't complain, I'm in bum fuck nowhere.
Also it's pretty cheap
$65/month here for gigabit fiber that actually gives me pretty close to gigabit speeds most of the time
yall should prolly make a thread sooner than later
ya know, spoilers n stuff n its easier for focused discussion
Lets gooooo
good point
#1136698160698376203 now exists
Bald Ur's Gate
Ooooooh, I was off on my calculations! The game launches quite a bit before midnight for me, lol.
Damn though, that's a lot.
Luckily, I have 149 GB free for it. I just won't be able to do much torrenting for a while (that said, I've already got a lot of stuff, so I don't really need to either).
Sooooo, install it is!
I have a couple of these controllers and they’re pretty great
They’re also useful for PC
It has Hall effect joysticks
Um, question for all BG3 downloaders/players: how do I access the digital soundtrack, artbook, and character sheets from the deluxe edition?
I assume once it's installed you'll fine that stuff on steam, let me screenshot where it should appear
This is my guess at least
Doesn't appear for me for now tho
The deluxe edition is applied tho, so it should be somewhere, I'll check once it's fully installed
I’d bet it’ll be in the game files
I don't even have the soundtracks or software boxes in that drop-down menu.
I wish i had a gaming pc rn so i could play BG3
I’m at work and won’t be able to install it until tonight
There is an option even with weaker pcs if you want, but you probably want to wait its release on the console if you game mostly there
Basically, some people are taking advantage of geforce now cloud gaming, it being a turn based game the latency isn't as important
So i cant play it
What I really want is a dedicated desktop for gaming, storage, work, etc. That way, I could have a 2-terabyte SSD storage which will enable me to have all my games installed at once with still plenty of space to spare for other things.
But such a thing is expensive, even if I build it.
How big is your current ssd?
256 GB. It's really small, but that's because it's a laptop, not a desktop.
Oof
A laptop could have a two terabyte SSD too
456 GB
My sister has a gaming laptop with a 512 gb ssd
So about half a terabyte
Yes, but do I really want to experiment with cracking open my only good laptop so I can maybe put some better storage into it and then attempt to put it back together again and hope that it still runs perfectly?
I'm sure there are shops that offer this service.
fwiw my (new) laptop has a ~1 tb ssd
Alright, second question: how will I get all the stuff currently stored on my computer onto the new SSD, IF I decide to go to said shop that performs said cracking-open service?
you can use cloning/imaging software if you want to transfer the OS
if you don't want to transfer the OS, good old Ctrl+C using an external drive enclosure
Hmmmm...
I will think on it.
Having 2 terabytes of storage (or even just 1) on this laptop would mitigate sooooo many issues I have with it. Right now it's a game of uninstalling and reinstalling with games in order to ensure that I have enough storage space for other games that I want to play (like BG3).
Oh wow, the download is moving faster than I thought. It's already at 67%.
Steam's CDN is magic
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't
it's funny how in software "magic" ended up as a pejorative
Damn
the Steam CDN is an impressive feat of engineering, same for SteamPipe
Oh man, I've got the soundtrack, character sheets, and art book. There's sooooooooooooo much good stuff here! The inspiration I'm getting from the artbook alone is astonishing.
it's not an RPG unless you spend an hour on pre-game stuff
Mortismal Gaming's review is up, and having watched many videos and reviews from this guy, I trust him with any and all RPG reviews. He knows what he's talking about and has a lot of experience with CRPGs in particular. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8h64EYMoLF8
Talking about my experiences with my first complete playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 after receiving a review copy of the game ahead of it's full launch!

I'll be watching it after I play the game myself, just to see how it compares.
Peach just set up my Steam Deck to download it. Will be ready when I get home.
But also I have other work to do when I get home.

Meanwhile

Somehow i already have both for this week. Didn't think Loop hero had already ben there
Didn't know Bloons TD6 was on EGS
it should be f2p in the first place, given the fucking microtransactions
Oh shit, you can be non-binary in BG3! :D
Or "other" (which includes all the other genders listed under the non-binary umbrella).
I wonder if that was part of the idea of Microsoft acquiring Discord
But when talks fell through they were like "Ehhh fuck it, people still want this, we're still chill."
Yep, voice gender body type and genitals are all separate selections, it's funny since it is one of the few inclusive option choices that arguably require less work than not doing it
baldurs gate letsgooooooo
EGS is starting to be a broken record in terms of free games 😛
likely because it no longer needs to be as aggressive, or lacks the money to do so
I won't complain too much, my EGS backlog is still mostly unplayed with the exception of Control and A Plague Tale: Innocence
Yeah EGS realized they cant replace steam. So they’ve accepted the role of the Fortnite,UE, and free game launcher
ironically, EGS is where you can find a lot of DRM-free AAA/AA games that aren't available as DRM-free on any other store
that moment when I really want to click "[Say Nothing]" but the game doesn't give me that option
Prism Launcher has the best first-time setup dialog I've ever seen. Cat selection
Every program must have a cat button.
So, I finished my first few hours of playing Baldur's Gate 3. There is sooooooo much detail and so much to do in this game. Way more than in D:OS 2, even! I'm still in the first area after the Nautilus Ship and I feel like I'm being pulled in about fifteen different directions to do stuff.
This game is gonna take me a long time to play through, I know it. And I will love every second of it.

I remember 6 years ago when everyone on this server was talking about D:OS 2
I wonder if D:OS 2 will receive the BOTW treatment from the playerbase. In other words, suddenly it becomes a "meh" game after its (spiritual) successor is released
I am very behind on RPGs myself, haven't even played a Diablo game
Ive only played one Diablo game and that was 4
Holy shit Nintendo is doing a summer sale
There are explanations for what the bot is currently doing in the bottom right corner. You can use the , and . keys to go frame by frame and read them.
This is a UserScript-based bot playing The Password Game. It does not cheat by poking inside the game code; it only directly modifies the input boxes and clicks the buttons. It does, however, us...
I am generally not a rpg guy really , I mostly play metroidvanias , FPS ,stealth actions.
same, I'm just in the baldur's thread to hear the funny anecdotes
and so it begins
?
The process of people recommending games to Ixrec that he doesn't want
loop hero free on the epic games store
Yes we already talked about this
CODE VEIN is 82% off
Oh sorry, the deluxe version is
fucking Banco
maybe I don't want the Deluxe Edition, how 'bout dat

Code Vein was aight. Wasn't a fan of the story but it was fun to play
Cant wait for password Artery
this doesn't seem like a big deal ?
Theres more to it
im not taking anyone who unironically uses "this is just like 1984" seriously
Well one of the changes is illegal under EU law so
Something else i didnt expect to ever see
And have made every single minecraft server commercial
This is some buuuuuuuullshit exaggerating if I've ever seen one. Private servers like Hermitcraft or the Manechat server aren't affected by this, really.
Or at the very least ours isn't.
But have they changed the actual EULA?
eula ≠ usage guidelines
-Servers with ANY content not suitable for 10 year olds are now prohibited
This is also bullshit exaggeration. The Manechat server has plenty of adults and mature language on it, even if we do try to keep it PG most of the time.
-Any server, piece of online content such as video or other may be taken down due to any reason whatsoever
As is this, and this can be fought in court.
The Kinglor Forest is a lush rainforest, with dangers everywhere!
Look up, and you’ll see the awe-inspiring floating mountains.

Literally 1984 guys...except not. All of this is perfectly reasonable and common sense. Even the "not an official product" thing is just to say that your player avatar OC being sold as a funko pop or something is not an official product of Mojang.
This Rock Solid fellow has a few of his namesakes in his head.
He's mad that he can't promote violence in 2b2t anymore.
I still think the lan restriction thing is bs
Like if someone wants to have a 200+ minecraft tournament whats the big deal.
Except there's already a work-around that I can see
If you're streaming the event, any and all donations made to you are then donated by you to the charity of your choice. No sponsorships needed.
And they said nothing about wi-fi multiplayer.
yeah, the Minecraft community has a history of overreacting to reasonable policy changes and non-changes
(I assume its sheer size makes the hot takes worse than usual if you don't curate your sources)
reminds me of deviant art artists
please.
please fucking stop.
you should not learn about the holocaust from a fucking goofy kid-friendly battle royale
in fact i'm pretty sure trying to teach the holocaust in a game where you're dropped on an island and forced to kill each other will have the opposite effect of what the intent is
i get the idea
kids like fortnite
let's make it educational
but
please. stop.
i need a drink
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mo-kXjasZs Jeeeeez. Heat 32 is hard enough
I am a fucking legend at this videogame
51 minutes of attempts, to get luck that is arguably unachievable in thousands of hours.
never say never I guess
thank ghostyboyy97 and anyone else I might have missed for making the thumbnail
I'm expecting a "but"
A speedrunner beat it i believe
No but from what I can tell
Soon we'll have Heat 69
That's not by epic themselves
It's a UEFN Map by a Jewish game developer
It also has weapons, emotes, destruction, etc disabled as well
So pretty much a virtual museum
It's not the battle royale mode
Creative mode is a whole separate thing
it still feels in poor taste
Not at all
It's done with good intention to be a virtual museum
An educational tool
By a game developer who is jewish
perhaps we should move on from this topic
When are they gonna make a Mob Psycho game
Complete with UFOs?
y
golly
the people in #1136698160698376203 seem pretty happy with it
though I'm just spectating
Is it just Divinity: Original Sin II 2?
see some of ^these comments
but I think the tl;dr is "yes-ish but more"
Yeah, kinda looks like it
It takes divinity 2 and improves a lot on it
I couldn't get into botw 2 because of how similar it was to botw 1. i'm worried i'll face the same issue here. but eventually i'll pick it up. It's a hard pill to swallow since we buy two copies for co-op.
If your unsure just wait for a bit
Gameplay mechanics wise... well, the controls feel similar obviously but the way spells and combat and whatnot flows is diffrent. More D&D-ish than D:OS2 was, the latter had more flexibility with spells I believe. I'm struggling somewhat with BG3 atm for example
But by and large, if you liked D:OS 2, you'll like this
hm, is that the thing where mages have to prepare a set of spells and that's all they get to use that day?
yar
ok, my only experience with that is Planescape which probably doesn't count since none of the spells really affected story (and I had no idea what I was doing
)
#Pentiment: oh boy, I think I'm gonna have to accuse someone before I have enough evidence to be sure who did it
Nitori canonically wants to get shit faced, lol
Actually yes and no, they allow you to swap spells pretty freely as long as you aren't in combat, but that depends on the class
ah, apparently they lucked into the perfect build that people usually mod/seed for to make heat 64 barely feasible
and this is one of only 2 players who'd already beaten modded 64 heat, so I guess throwing one-in-a-million dumb luck into the equation was the only place left to go
i enjoy playing the dumb birb cookery game
"if you get three butterflies the run's just over"
so I wasn't missing some trick to the goddamn butterfly rooms
GODDAMN BUTTERFLIES
aaaaaaah I was so close
if that dialogue tree had a slightly more neutral option earlier maybe I wouldn't have gotten that one debuff
...no, I don't think I will click on the "[Think about death]" option
welp, time to feel super conflicted about not knowing whether the guy being executed because of me actually did it
Look at it like this
If he was guilty you did a good job
If he wasnt. Well then whatever he owned is now yours
I'm calling it a win because I'm fairly confident the originally accused character is innocent, it wasn't me who rendered the actual verdict, and most of the cast more or less likes me despite all this unpleasantness
I got that vibe too, certainly nobody expected me to know
it feels like the best I could've done was identify a motive and a possible weapon for ~3 characters
I got 3 motives and 1 weapon (and what I'm pretty sure was weapon 2 but failed to figure out how to complete that part)
no lead whatsoever on who wrote the mystery notes though, I'm assuming there's no way to learn that until a later act
...ok, Guy dislikes me a lot more than I thought he did
I thought it was a real hero announcement for a second
every game has one of these achievements now
Yeah.
I mean everyone is doing it so it should feel lame but it's one of those things that I just see as an objective good.

Achievement unlocked: Pet 5 kirins.

I'm currently trying to find new games to play.
or at least like, new games to beat, I have some unfinished ones I could dive into.
what machine do you have
I have a fairly good computer, in addition to a PS5 and a Switch that i do not have access to rn.
So, just a computer for now.
What games have you played so far?
Have you considered Dyson Sphere Program?
I've played a lot of games in my life so I'm not sure how to answer this.
have you played Doom yet
Oh you like games? Name every game
maybe some of your favourites
well, without any information you're just gonna get the equivalent of pressing the random button on google
So, I have a top 100 I was going to send
but I can't send images here
uh.
oh you still have new pony
some subgenres or a Steam profile would be a starting point
yeah I made a list.
fwiw this list has no franchise overlap allowed so like
this prompted me to press the random button on google. It searched for "keming" and I spent far too long staring at the word.
I like more than Final Fantasy 12 for instance but 12 is the only one listed
looks at the top 20
Oh keming is fun, I follow a subreddit dedicated to it.
I'm happy I picked a game that wasn't on your list
yep this is not a job for me
having FNAF Security Breach is fucking based
wdym
Ruin secured it.
as in your top games are mostly in genres I don't play
oh fair enough.
YES true
I do tend to prefer RPGs and visual novels for gay people.
