So a tl;dr of the OW2 situation: Blizz's initial plan was to release Overwatch as it was, then eventually add more and more onto it in the eventual goal/plan to get it to the level of project Titan, which was the 2nd MMO they were planning on releasing after WOW. So it was a gradual plan to get to that point.

Two issues with that though: WOW went on longer and survived far longer than they ever expected, and needed content.
OW itself as a live service needed content and whatnot, but their desire/efforts to do as mentioned above shot that in the foot, and the cancellation of PVE is just them finally admitting that the plan to get to the level of project Titan was never going to happen, and finally focusing on making OW 2 the games as a service game that it is now

it's been fun watching my wife play through Dark Souls with a bunch of different character concepts and finally start acting like a dragon again. just tried out Final Fanasty XVI's demo myself and I'm not that impressed. The intro is very cinematic and impressive sure but the battles play like Ys but slower and worse to me (and a lot less fluid) and performance, even when choosing framerate over graphics is disappointing in built up areas. It is not a locked framerate that's for sure.

If you do the challenge part from the main menu the demo is extended to later on in the game.

Then again Final Fantasy has always not really ever grabbed me, not even the supposed classics like 7 or the underrated in 9, all of them have left me cold, and I do like JRPGs, I love almost everything from Nihon Falcom, Monolith Soft and Atlus after all...

there's a full spreadsheet listing all the issues where GOG builds are inferior to their other counterparts
