For the record you can't actually do this in the game although from what I hear it was a feature in RE2R, it's a mod that enables it
for some reason this feature is disabled while in-game, people theorize swapping outftits may cause issues in some areas or circumstances but it hasn't been tested yet

Itās a cool thing to experiment with, but it is nonetheless a very expensive feature to support and it would be an ongoing cost until the game studio/game publisher turns it off. I can't say I've ever had any significant issues or issues at all with Steam, but to be fair I don't really use it a whole lot on a day to day basis to be familiar with all its features or those of other stores/launchers, but I can definitely say I've heard way more complaints about literally any other launcher that isn't Steam more than complaints about Steam

Nope. Games have gotten to the point where theyāre so large and complex that they take a very long time and a lot of money to build. So thereās some significant pressure there to get it out the door ASAP and there are only so many hardware configurations they can test on. Further, itās normal to put out patches to fix things in the first day(s) and weeks after release. So they make it feature complete (beginning to end), sufficiently stable, and certifiable for the given platform(s) its targeting. Then they switch to polish mode, especially after they get analytics data and mass reports from real world players.

finished replaying professor layton and curious village. when u take into account all the batshit stuff that happens durin the series its easy to forget just how quaint and nicely self contained the first game is. it fills me with warmth of nostalgia. i really did miss the expanded note taking from other games tho 
i forgot you couldnt really note take in first game n that makes puzzles trickier unless you bust out pen n paper

Yeah, the stutter is significant. Very playable, but the stutter certainly canāt be ignored and needs to be patched ASAP.
Although I will say Iāve gotten to a later point in the game and it is now crashing rapidly, so Iām basically unable to gain progress at this point 
At least Steam is crediting all my achievements as ā0.2% of players have this achievementā which is pretty telling about how people launch it and then are unable to actually play it

the game works quite well in deathmatch, I only wish the running speed was a bit faster
the latest Ship of Harkinian update is pretty lit, you can make your very own DK Mode now. Oh, and HD textures support

I use C for crouch, but I don't use WASD. CD are my crouch/jump axis. AZ is forward/back. Left/right is on my right hand (joystick twist, or ... left/right mouse buttons. Seriously.) Shoot and use are space and control. Half of this config is due to Descent's defaults and half due to DooM's defaults.

I think C to toggle crouch is good, it's when you have to hold it that problems start
I often rebind crouch from Ctrl to Shift to match Minecraft
but in games that have sprinting and walking, I bind Shift to sprint and Ctrl to walk
