SUCKAGE
The puns are so good
ye olde speaketh always gets a laugh out of me
The graphics can be pretty annoying, so check out the settings
They have a lot of options that make things clearer including an alternative font

my favorite out-of-context setting name might be Corona distance: you crazy
(it was renamed to Corona distance: extreme in the next game)
they predicted social distancing by almost 20 years
Corona Distance: Beyond Range of My Stick

@gaunt marten You know a lot about Boneraiser, what do the different characters do? Like what's the difference between the starter class and say Sinned Deamonologist?
Wow LBR
Uh
The starter class specializes in relics!
They get more of them
While the deamonologist specializes in demons!
Demons are raised by merging two third-level basic boners
To figure out what each class does, you just need to look at the screen for which you buy souls to upgrade that class
Souka! Thank you!
Ahhh, and each hero has their own upgrades
No wonder they all felt samey, they're all unupgraded, lmao
Yeah, you gotta collect souls to upgrade them. The souls are dropped by the same enemies that sometimes drop relics
In each game, grabbing a soul allows you to create a demon, a giant, a meldus minion, or other types of special minions
And after you're done, you can spend those souls to upgrade your character
You can hold up to nine out of the game at a time, and may also upgrade with gold if you have no souls
So with each session you may upgrade no more than 12 items in a hero's screen at once
heee, the potato boy can manifest a pumpkin and blow up people
That's 9 from souls and 3 from 3333 gold each
The bro summoner is great. I recommend the pink fire bros
Get two of them and you can merge them into a massive one
HAHAHAHAHHA
store.steampowered.com/replay/ oh, they have their replay thing going now

My sister got a Switch Lite for Christmas but we can’t play stuff together between Switches cause even locally it requires an internet connection
No? You should be able to connect to local wireless without an internet connection
That's a lotta games

Apparently they still both need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and in this family that rots your mind or something stupid like that
Not sure if this was posted before, but they released an alpha for the new Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader RPG, and some folks have put up their impressions already. Based on what I've heard from multiple videos, the performance needs work (as is to be expected, since it's an alpha) and the space combat could be sped up a bit, but the story-telling, atmosphere, ground combat, and general gameplay are all great.
It also seems to be fairly open-ended, as most CRPGs are, giving you lots of wiggle room to explore and gain experience, and also discover new territory. There's quests and a main quest, but it also feels somewhat like you building up an "empire" of sorts where you can recruit other allies and gain resources to keep going.
As for my own impressions judging by what I'm seeing so far, the game looks amazing graphically, the combat (ground and space) looks acceptable for me, and it looks fun to play overall. Definitely waiting on the full release for it, but it's gonna be an instant buy.
Talking about what's available in the alpha and my thoughts and impressions after playing through it a bit early!

My replay is corrupted so badly because I tend to leave an idle game running
Mine is only accurate for Steam. I've spent more time on bnet than anything else, really
Yeah, I left FFXIV running in the bg a lot as well
The hours aren't that far off though
Yes, corrupt the young ones early
ba ba ba ba ba, copyright strike

Geee Geeeeeee
I was going through my Spider-Man Remastered screenshots and found this
Vapor Trail must be proud.

look i would turn off the inaccurate ye olde english but i find it too charming
I played the Five Nights at Freddy's: Survive Til 6am board game last night with my mom and it was very fun

They put out a video for Steam Replay
We're thrilled to announce Steam Replay, available to all Steam users now!
Whether this was your best year yet or one you’d sooner forget, playing games was (hopefully!) a reliably fun escape. To celebrate, we’re introducing Steam Replay as a way to look back at your year of gameplay on Steam in 2022.
Visit Steam to take a look at your very ow...
pretty cool
Man, I wish this existed when Hades came out, it would dominate my replay
after i finished that 32 heat challange on september
Yeah when you run out of goals it peters off
I have a mousepad in my setup for the first time ever
I mean you could try to 32 with every weapon and/or every aspect, but... ehh
Only took my like 8 years to finally buy a mousepad
That's what I'm currently doing
And tryna to finish the rest of the achievement
Mine was kind of boring, dominated by Elite Dangerous not terribly surprisingly, but mostly due to playing earlier this year...
Unstable unicorns is a cool card game

Fuck you too, Steam.
I'm doing the https://xkcd.com/606/
Yooooo, it's #N/A! She's my favourite character!
Was honestly expecting that to be skewed to JRPG more than that
This is gonna get banned in china reaaaal quick...
Wonder if this is real or cgi
Hm, more i look at it, probably ai generated or something. A lot of distortion on that fan
The spidergraph only makes sense when it covers more than just one year
I don't know why they included it
Added a Christmas Fun setting so you can pound Santa all year round
ayo what the fu-
oh it's just an update
Here's a list of special messages the Steam Replay gives based on specific games https://pastebin.com/raw/TsrrUZKF
As far as I can tell it's just a Christmas theme
Gifts, snowflakes, stuff
It's intentionally like that!
bah, humbug
i thought i was being funny
-- Doki Doki Literature Club! --
You enjoyed playing this totally wholesome, and not at all disturbing game.
Huh, there's one for FFXIV and I didn't get it

Mannnnn, I should have gotten this at least!
-- Vampire Survivors --
The real question is, how much time did you spend standing still with max garlic?
I-
FUCK YOU, STEAM
https://s.team/y22/hvqgpbr?l=english
mine is p dumb
the most time played is an incremental due to its nature though
That's why I don't play incremental games on steam
If it doesn't allow me to launch the game off steam, I don't play it
Yeah kinda ai generated but quite sick style.
i dont really care about metrics in any way, so its fine by me
extra so in the case of that one, because it was a sequel of one i'd played and enjoyed before it was fun but i'd platued on the content released so i'm gonna go back to it later probably
get through this, biatch
they got through it
I don't understand, I had maxed out laurel and spellbinder and spellbook, my shield was charging literally as fast as it could

Looks like global game revenue this year went down
With 6% of it coming from physical products and the rest digital (including microtransactions and such)
UM WHAT IS THIS GAME ANYMORE (I think this is spoilers for Vampire Survivors? I THINK? I DON'T KNOW)
It's great
Rude-ass kid https://i.imgur.com/qq64yrj.png
I wanna take the shovel and crack their head to get my stuff back
Switch sale ends in a couple days and I caved
Nice
On gog
Someone casually suggested would you kindly buy the Bioshock collection and this was all it took to sway me
Perhaps if you convince me to rob a bank first
Curses, foiled
hm, sounds about right
geez, that makes my numbers look a whole lot more ordinary
I like how my new vs retro games ratio is apparently extremely average:
New Releases 23% (average 17%)
Recent Favorites 64% (average 64%)
Classic Games 13% (average 19%)
if it new about the emulator stuff I'd been doing, that'd be even more average
Mine was 100% classic games lmao
I mean the 3 biggest games I played this year were Half Life 2, Portal 2, and Gmod
And TF2
Wooo Source Engine
our stats on this are pretty close, except I seem to prefer fewer/longer sessions? (cc @quiet swift too)
I haven't played in a while
I should really get back into it
So unfortunate that my replay data was corrupted
220 achievements. I played 19 games. Factorio was #1 at 27%, the Wargroove, then Northgard.
That's pretty neat.
Huh, there seems to be more games free with prime already? should normally happen in january... Everything before Quake is a new one
ETS 2 will and always will be one of my favorite sim games
This is the first time I reached the end of the stage.
A lucky combination of Laurel, the item that protects you from all damage for a while upon getting hit, and the lancet, which freezes enemies, allowed me to freeze the reaper that comes to kill you
I circled around it, trying to keep it frozen while dealing damage
But then another one spawned in a minute, then a third one
I couldn't keep them all frozen
I once had five up at a time, I think
Supposedly you get a reward for killing them
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgivEvHjHNM Nah, you get killed by an invincible death
Yeah but there's still a reward
I'm going to be playing a roblox rage game with ladders

It is bad. I had no other options though
Very impressive
"can now run" probably implies too much since there's still games it can load but break later on, but yeah it's was a neat milestone
Mhmm, it just manages to boot
Whether it's playable is an entirely different ball game.
playable is at 68%, which isn't bad for what is essentially the hardest to emulate 7th-gen console
I tried to do a similar thing earlier with one of the DLC characters but yeah the clock might just be more consistent on that aspect, along with the better range
Both of you are way ahead of me; I got 18.
(To be fair, a lot of the games I play don’t have cheevos/award them only under restrictive conditions)
I have no memory of this
All of those will be of the "played through the main storyline" variety. I do not go achievement hunting.
I gotta do mine once I get up. Gonna be like 20 achivments across 5 games I bet
I almost never go achievement hunting either
Stanley Parable is the exception that proves the rule
maaaaaaybe Hades I kinda did?
Ooh right I did play stanley parable this year too
steam deck only recently became available to buy through third party in australia

Can the Steam Deck's hardware stand the test of time, or will it be outdated in the near future?

Is This Video's Title Misleading?
It's a theory, so yeah.
Basically with paraphrasing "Steam Deck is a handheld but runs PC games, so it might be outdated compared to a console"
Lol what
Because "PC games don't focus onto one set of specific hardware, and games are usually not designed just for Steam Deck"
But "There are Steam Deck verified titles which help alleviate this, but don't always count on it."
So yeah, that's the gist of it.

I hate that video
Well I kinda get the point
Yes, but its assuming that the device is already ancient because of the new hardware that's out.
And that's not how handhelds work at all, and if there is a demand or market share of it... there will be more support.
Just because a handheld can run PC games doesn't mean it'll be out of date once a year passes by, it'll be out of date once the company discontinues the model.
Steam Deck imo was, is, and will be in an awkward position where it's basically an emulator which is also handheld
But the extremity of the video's idea is...yeah it's extreme
Ironically PC gaming wasn't like that.
It started with a simple question... "Can this PC run this game?"
Steam deck has a very specific target audiences
I honestly think it doesn't really have competitors, it just depends on if Steam Deck itself is good or not
One thing I prefer pc gaming for is that you don't have to upgrade for ages. It can last longer than a console depending on what you play.
Like how my cpu is from 2014 and still plays games fairly well
The PS4 is from 2013 and is only just beginning to fade out of full support
Okay maybe using 2013 pc hardware today would be a stretch
top-tier 2013 PCs (i7-4770K + GTX 680 or 770) can still play recent AAA games, but you have to make a lot of compromises
Wait
I have an i7 4770
Is it 2013 and not 2014?
And at the start of this year I gamed with a quadro 4000, eqivilant of a gtx 480. Coming from very bad integrated graphics, it was great.
Recent AAA games on base PS4 have a lot of comprimises too to be fair. And cyberpunk never really ran on it.
Oh
I use a 2013 cpu in modern games!
It is no wonder why my sister's $1k laptop with an i5 outperforms mine
Except for the gpu. 2070 super wins over 1650
God my pc is so imbalanced
I had a 4770k and a 1070 and it ran stuff at 1080p just fine, and I'd had the stuff since... 2014 or 2015. But I had opportunity in jan 2021 to upgrade and I did so to be more future-proof. My 5600x and 3070 are doing just fine at 1440p
LTT usually does benchmarks on CS:GO and it's amusing, since it's always in like 300-500s
Pft yeah
I can get 30 fps on rdr2 at 4k ultra
Although you do need to turn water quality down to not drop when going near water
And also not for long.. After some time playing, I think I run out of vram and I get graphical glitches
getting done watching the final Disco Elysium stream of a streamer I watch, holy fucking shit this game is mind blowingly good
heh, I have a 6700K and RX 6900 XT
that's super unbalanced, way in favor of the GPU
also I just finished Portal 2
check my leaderboard time on the first puzzle if you want to try to beat it 😛 (39.96)
Can't be as imbalanced as mine
I forget what the first puzzle of portal 2 is
it's very easy, you only need to place 3 blue portals (can't place orange portals at that point)
it's mostly a test of your bhopping skills in challenge mode
I see
Also the first portal I played in offline mode on steam, so I had finished the game despite having like no achivments and no play time
That's a pretty dumb video.
You know, I'm starting to get a sudden weird thing where, I actually kinda want 60 fps over 30 fps and better graphics
Just feels that much better
I think what also helped me want that is when I realized Vsync was on in minecraft, turned it off, and then suddenly felt what 100s of fps feels like compared to 60
I do recommend capping FPS if you disable V-Sync to reduce power consumption
you usually don't gain much from having more than double your monitor's refresh rate
meanwhile I'm more than happy to sit at 40fps.
30 fps can feel a bit janky but 40 and I'm totally happy.
No no, I wanna keep my 600 fps in minecraft
Nintendo posted their Yearly Download Ranking
Apparently #1 is Splatoon 3, followed by PLA/Violet/Scarlet
It's like, I always used to game at 20-30 fps before. But now that I can, I probably should aim for 60 fps. As fun as maxing out a game and playing at 4k is, it isn't fully useful.
Literally, the only thing to upgrade is, perhaps the graphics card? The SSD or HDD or add one or two more. And yet once upgraded is good enough with those to last for years.
It's Japanese, but you can tell which one is which game
MK8D still in top 10
That game sells
Mario Kart is the startup lunch break game
wtf
How is Violet more popular than Scarlet, Scarlet's professor is way better
cpu is probably the last thing you would need to upgrade, especially if you buy the highest end one currently out
Because people like riding futuristic sandwich dragon jet motorcycle
But the professor is hotter
How do you see your steam replay?
Haven't played too much this year.
Excuse me, 98 games? Haven't played too much?
Let me get mine, hang on
There were a bunch of games I launched, played 5 minutes of and then put down
2022 was probably the worst gaming year of my life
Holy shit I do that too Midnight
And then there are games I literally can't put down if I try
Doom Eternal pog
Yeah
The only 3 games it felt like I played was doom eternal, rdr2, and stanley parable
Steam claims I played over a hundred games this year
I… don’t recall doing that.
I did play a little Dead Island when I first got this gpu, thinking that the definitive edition would stress an rtx 2070 super... And then got 300 fps on ultra and being like
Most of them I probably ran for five minutes on the steam deck.
Mine also conpletely omits all my FFXIV time because I don’t play it through Steam.
I wonder why May was so active for me
I think during that time I was trying to play games a lot more after work
But playing games after work can really affect my sleep
Could of had some weekends off too

What I get out of this is that they think Mass Effect is a space sim.
Aren't those tags user populated?
This doesn’t make it less wrong!
I wonder if there’s some sort of genre coalescing going on that resulted in this.
E.g. it saw that Mass Effect was (weakly) tagged as a space sim, but if it used that tag it could combine it with Elite Dangerous into a single genre entry
So the primary genres for mass effect got knocked off
here's mine I guess, since we're sharing: https://s.team/y22/dfnbqdt?l=english
mine does not feel representative of my average year of gaming
(I blame the Steam Deck.)
I need to finish Yakuza: Like a Dragon sometime. I hit a difficulty spike and just dropped
Omg is the lightsaber game cool
Oh, Saber Fight? It's okay
I so gotta work out my body fatigue
It's the gigachad template
Yup, that's it, lol.

Resident Evil 2 half-finished
E
E
Now that I think about it, I could give OG RE2 a shot, I only really played through all campaigns of RE2R and a bit of OG RE2 but never the entire thing....
although I was planning on jumping to RE3 after RE1R
What if Batman was in Resident Evil
Ix do you know about the seamless HD projects for RE2 and 3? I'd recommend those if you're using dolphin, I think they use dolphin anyway
the original RE2 Claire does have a sick design
I like it far more than the generic tank top + jeans designs of Jill and Claire in the new games

you had one job capcom
U.C Jill was so badass too
That skirt does not seem very practical
Ooooh
we looked up the requirements and it seems unlikely to do much better than E on a first playthrough anyway
since it basically punishes you for saving, healing, and taking longer than 2.5 hours; we're all gonna do a lot of that unless we save state scum it away
I thought Dolphin was Wii/Gamecube? the old REs are all PS1 games so I'm using Duckstation (after trying a few others that didn't work at all)
Dolphin is indeed GameCube and Wii. Aren’t there ports of those games to GameCube, though?
Platforms: Playstation, Nintendo 64, GameCube, IBM PC compatible, Dreamcast, Microsoft Windows, Game.com
I know that GameCube and Wii have some RE games
huh, there is
"Gamecube/Wii emulating" as if Gamecube and Wii are different consoles
/j
The Gamecube version of RE1 is a remake of the RE1 that was on PS1
A remake? Huh.
So it's RE RE1
Just for fun... look how far we've come :)
Resident Evil HD Remaster Vs Resident Evil Original Graphics Comparison
Resident Evil HD Remastered Vs Resident Evil PS1
yes, RE1 (1996) was PlayStation/Sega Saturn/PC, RE1's remake (2002) was GC/Wii/PS3/PS4/X360/X1/PC/Switch, and then RE1's remake's remaster (2015) was on a lot of those too
RE1's remake's remaster
it's easy to get confused
What's next, RE1's remake's remaster's reboot's recolored version?
they've "only" remade 1-3, with 4 upcoming, so plenty of room for it to get even more confusing
if we get another remake it will probably only be for Code Veronica
and some people want/say Capcom wants to do resident evil 1 remake remastered remake

which would be not only extremely confusing but also a terrible choice IMO I didn't enjoy the remakes as much }
yes and RE2 and 3 are on the gamecube as well
Excited for RE4 :pippwiggle:
the only downside is that it's all pretty much AI upscaled so there's no hand drawn or manually updated backgrounds, which I understand but still
so some areas or sections can look weird
but it's mostly an improvement!
I understand these texture packs but idk something about the old PS1 textures and backgrounds is super charming
RE3 looks great
in my case, until recently I had zero familiarity with RE before 4, so seeing what the originals originally looked like is part of the point
(RE1's remake is similar enough to the original when it's not adding new stuff that Tale told me to just play the remaster; I watched speedruns of both the original and the remaster afterward)
yeah they're worth at least a single playthrough, which is why I wished a true remake existed alongisde the reimagined RE2 and 3
or at least a remaster of the old games...
Yeah RE1R is perfect in every way
The best remakes are the ones that are a perfect replacement for the original game like RE1's case
I was so mad when the giant snake ate Richard after I went to all that trouble to save him
Wtf
The Yawn (ヨーン, yōn?) was an experimental B.O.W. test subject created at the Arklay Laboratory. It was nicknamed "Yawn" in reference to the way its mouth opens before attacking, which resembled a yawn. Adders lived around the Arklay Mountains, with a number residing in the trees in the Spencer Mansion's courtyard. One of these snakes was taken in...
quickest nope
Why was there a giant snake
because umbrella
Maybe one of these days I'll actually play RE1 and know why

because animals get affected by the virus too
The RE1 remake is on Switch
there really isn't a "why" beyond the t-virus does whatever makes the game have the enemies it needs
my mind was kinda blown when I ran around the giant snake arena and realized ||they... didn't stop me from just picking up the mask and leaving||
Yeah there's a section later on with a giant spider and || you can totally just destroy the door with webs and just... go and you don't need to fight it at all||
"a"

Jill sandwicg
mhmm
also I couldn't destroy it without fighting them (but I was playing as Jill; I saw in the speedrun that Chris has a flamethrower which gets through it much faster)
The name Jill reminds me of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
Tale was laughing so hard when I picked up the shotgun, heard the click and went WAIT A MINUTE and immediately put it back
I got to that room without the knife but they give you a knife in that room for that exact purpose, I went back and just did the thing and totally avoided the encounter
I did take a hit though
but that's the risks you take
gotta hoard all that ammo
I did notice that but even the knife was so slow it was easier to fight them
we talked a lot about the knife because I'm so used to RE4 where it's actually useful
You have to lure it to the other side of the room before you go for the door, I got lucky and it just stood there
menacingly
Yes RE4 definitely made the knife a lot more useful than it was before
it's so funny when they just raise their front legs imposingly but never move
Did you see that in the RE4 remake you can use your knife to deflect the chainsaw
lol
Imagine classic RE2 with mechanics from RE2R like the knives being much quicker and better to use and even being able to get out of grabs by using it
It breaks but you can do it
I know nothing about the remake, standard upcoming game procedure
ahhhh, in an ideal world....
I'm so excited Ix
RE4R seems to be enhancing every single aspect of what made RE4 good to begin with
I wish I had a machine that was capable of running it >:c
they're dialing it up to 11, I just hope they also dial up the horror to 11
that's right, RE2 didn't have "defensive weapons", I just realized that
because RE4 severely lacked horror
Whatever I'll just watch Vinesauce Vinny play it
Yeah there isn't any you just tank the hits, RE3 has the dodge but I hear it's dogshit
like it's actually very unreliable as a mechanic
Wtf are you on about those creatures you had to kill with the uhhhhh heat vision scope were terrifying
I mean sure but that doesn't mean the entire game was like that or that it didn't lack horror
by the time you get to those enemies you're already on the island, the least scary place in the entire game, literally just an action game shooting gallery
I was scared quite a few times by chainsaw man at the beginning
And that part where you're in the house with Luis (?) was pretty scary
Resident Evil Ultimate HD Edition PC Walkthrough Gameplay 2160p 60FPS / 4K 60FPS
Resident Evil 4 PC Remaster Gameplay Walkthrough
Special agent Leon S. Kennedy, who is sent on a mission to rescue Ashley Graham, the U.S. President's daughter who has been kidnapped by a sinister cult. Traveling to a remote rural area of Europe, Leon fights hordes ...
Yeah these guys
I hate them
Iirc I had to look up how to kill them because I didn't have the heat vision scope
Oh god not them
Lol
I am terrified just thinking of how they’ll be in the remake
Oh no
I wonder if they’ll still have what I find most disturbing in the game, the weird unexplained bag
https://youtu.be/JUhCy8a6tdM
I don't remember that bag
I forgor that RE4 was ported to everything ever made
It's like Doom
And we can add Super Mario 64 to that list now
I also hope they actually do more with the story now
And Skyrim!
There's a lot there to do with Leon and Ada as well as Krauser that the original game doesn't do at all
as well as a pretty good opportunity to go a bit deeper into Leon's not-yet-alcoholic but still trauma ridden mind
The original game didn't do much with the whole ''I'm turning into a plaga?'' thing, I hope they do it with the remake and they kinda tapped into that with RE3's opening about Jill having a nightmare where she turns into a zombie
because of course she would have that dream every night since the incident
Leon my baby boy
Have you seen those videos where someone animated RE4 characters dancing to jpop music
also fun fact Leon was meant to have a sick monster arm and monster powers originally
you can kind of see why that turned into devil may cry pretty quickly
the whole Ada situation was such a confusing tease
even if her levels were fun to play
I'm told she makes more sense if you've played the older games
''hi leon''
''HUH? YOURE ALIVE?''
''yes I'm working for wesker now''
''WHAT''
''anyways got to go this will never be explained at all bye''

They did Thriller as well
not a whole lot really, the entire thing is left unexplained and Leon kinda doesn't react the way he should as it is
oh yeah, I haven't gotten to Wesker being somehow not dead
Keep in mind Leon thinks Ada is still dead
Wesker shows up in Code Veronica so.... if you wanna find out play that one

cuz you ain't getting an explanation in 3
Be careful CV is a bit rough
Ya I had no idea who the fuck Ada was when I played RE4 and just assumed she was from the older games
hoping this will be her design in 4
because it looks smoking and cool
I think they're gonna do away with the dress unfortunately...
A dress isn't exactly practical and I know for a fact Ada is actually prepared
I wouldn't worry about realism in the franchise where a man punches a boulder through the sheer power of his roided muscles
most importantly, she has the supernatural ability to use a grappling hook
...there are degrees to the "realism" thing lol
I'm not worried about realism at all what
she also wore a dress in RE2 as well
If I was worried about realism in my media I consumed I would not be a fan of a guy who dresses up as a bat to beat up criminals or a guy who kills demons
much less all those times the bat guy fights demons
the funniest part is that the RE2R design for Ada is even less practical than the original one where she actually wore leggings and just a pair of shoes rather than heels
Real????
Doomguy and Batman team up confirmed?????
Re6 has my favourite ada design though
actually second favourite, Umbrella Chronicles is still my favourite
If anyone plays it here.
Escape from Tarkov wipes today with the big Streets update
yep, I play, my homie just called me to say this, bruh
i had a tiny rogues run that popped off hard
@real panther im done with my new toy, we can play payday 2 now
alright
Now we know why Mario Kart 7, a 3DS game, received an update after about ten years. It turns out that Nintendo has been patching a RCE vulnerability in their first party 3DS, WiiU and Switch games which allows an attacker to send a payload to unmodified systems to install custom firmware.
Their first party games which have direct peer to peer multiplayer are the vulnerable titles.
good guy nintendo i guess? once they were aware of the issue, they fixed it
Seems so
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/526454698794811395/1057697676319260725/image.png dishonoured 2 is on prime gaming if you have that
nice, I was planning to buy it
... I'm tempted to see if High on Life legitimately has all of Tammy and the T-Rex playing on the TV or if this is just a goof.
Knowing Justin Roland
This is definitely something he'd do for the fun of it
OMG ITS THE TREX
FROM TAMMY AND THE TREX
I am going to take things from the Dishonored games and put them in BO3 and nobody can stop me
Nintendo is more than happy to fix those bugs because they directly cut into their profits (they allow people to install custom firmware and emulate)
Of course in this case they allow someone to force random other people to install custom firmware
In this case it’s also a safety issue
Which is definitely bad
Which is the key problem
Nintendo doesn’t usually go back that far for CFW holes, but in cases where it can be used for malicious purposes such as unknown people hacking the cameras and microphones remotely? Yeah, they’ll patch that.
(Or, it follows, quite possibly allow random people to just remotely brick your device.)
I finished Serious Sam 2 a second time today, gotta appreciate the dual wielding for making it a lot more palatable
I mean, who would even care to do that to others on a 3DS in 2022/almost 2023? I would imagine the biggest concern to Nintendo is the potential to do easier piracy on the machine using the exploit
plenty of people would care to do that in 2022.
Fun fact that game turned 20 this year
10th anniversary next year
I never actually stopped and took a second to admire Dante's demon form before, I didn't even know he can fly, look at this weirdo bug man
I can't believe Dante's mom was into Sparda considering he's even more of a weirdo insect man
We'd seen ray traced shadows before in the current-gen refresh of GTA 5 - but very recently, Rockstar went back and improved the game still further, adding RT reflections. On top of that, very minor issues we had with the Xbox Series version of the game were also addressed (likely before the RT upgrade). In this video, Oliver Mackenzie shows us ...

it's still kinda crazy to me that this is even humanly possible
Picked up a Retron, and Trials of Mana today
I need to find my old Gameboy games/get some new titles perhaps. Well, new to me.
not bad
nice haha
Quite a few there I don't really know

This game series is weird~
why isnt minecraft here

i need to get back into kcd
10,000,000 BCE
it does kinda suck that the AC series is one of the few "popular" games that explores these historical settings
Anno would be some others. The list is a bit barebones and seems mostly focused on action games
oh man now that u mention it i played so much europa 1400 the guild when i was younger
And heck, we could add any warhammer 40k game for far future
Or Spore for earlier stuff
what ablout Pokeomon
oih yeah its a 100% joke list
it just highlghts how certain historical periods dont get a lot of love
Age of Empires, Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis, Victoria, Hearts of Iron, XCOM, Stellaris

It's a list of the top 100 by total revenue and by playercount
yup
Yus
maybe ill redownload it and actually get to the end this time
in preperation for hades 2
Im already very interested in 2 because I prefer playing as female protags lol
of course it's mostly Assassin's Creed games in here
if you want to add more to that list, there's the AC Chronicle games

one of them is one of the only AC games that takes place in a contemporary setting, 1918's Soviet Russia, after the October Revolution
AC China takes place during the Ming dynasty in the 16th century
and AC India takes place in the 19th century during the Sikh empire during the Anglo-Sikh wars
also speaking of Hades I should probably pick up that game sometime because I'm very interested in it but never played it
everyone in hades is hot
it's greek mythology they're all hot
I went to upgrade my free version of Death Stranding to the Deluxe edition, and... somehow my Epic account was set to the Cayman Islands, so I had to fix that first.
Death Stranding is a lot of fun

Looking forward to hearing your impressions of it

dionysus and meg and charon 😩
artemis is my favorite

And we know who the immediate new favorite was in the trailer

I'd love to play Death Stranding but I feel like I probably wouldn't be able to run that game
I can run MGSV just fine, but Death Stranding came out pretty recently-ish
Seems surprisingly tame. Might not be at the highest resolution/details though
I've been wanting to upgrade my computer for a long time now
just don't know where to start

I remember when 1 GB of VRAM was astounding...
Nire: tons of people here will probably be able to help. The first step is your budget and what you need. Probably new mobo/cpu/gpu/ram?
I found this on a video on "keep talking and nobody explodes" and it was about 100 nodes https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxc847a3hSA-fjIHS0ozc0tFMgLMsKJKAx

Death Stranding is not as resource intensive and you might expect from a title that recent
I would try, if you grabbed for free at least
MGSV was a top of the line AAA game remember, death stranding is significantly smaller in scope
I did get it for free on Epic
yeah but Death Stranding is still pretty impressive visually and it coming out after MGSV just means it's gonna be even better looking
I do think it's a bit more resource intensive than MGSV
But not by much
Also IDK about the scope, I do feel they were pretty comprable
Something you haven't touched in your library or something you don't have yet?
Well, Steam does have a function for that
Well, you've been playing CKII and EUIV...why not Victoria III? (That was a joke)
Yeah but I have too many games for it to make a good suggestion list
Here's mine https://i.imgur.com/K6KNvrO.png
The play next thing does have a few "tabs" so find something from it anyway 😛
I decided to play Escape Goat 2

It's a nice puzzle game with good music that I have only played once years ago https://store.steampowered.com/app/255340/Escape_Goat_2/

i dont have that tab
for some reason it only came to mind that that would let me add the game groups i made
the 5 of those i wanna play are (essentially, but not technically) multiplayer only, core keeper (i bought to play with someone then she disapeared fof the map
), plateup, wildermyth, barotrauma, and barony
DST is pretty good, plate up is great, baro is hard but fun, the rest i have no opinions on
i dont know if dst has the problem i had with ds that being "punishing with no real explanation of what you should be doing at a given time"
it does
crab gam

i can only really play it with a bazillion mods
there are games i'd rather play than spend hours reading guides to play games
What is DST? Obviously not daylight savings time...
dont starve together
ds being dont starve, that being the single player version (idk if there are any other differences)
Play wildermyyyyyth
play getting over it
i wanna play it with people but could never find people
Remember that you can dismiss games from your recommendation list to get more
Of course, when I asked here I was looking for human suggestions
theres a suggestion list? of games you own?
Yes!
or Add Shelf if you don't have that
It's the Play Next shelf
on that list:
Realm grinder+mr mine are incrementals i picked up for free and had my fun with and should remove from my library
for the king+undertale+getting over it i played on different platforms
rust+witcher 3 i touched went "ew" and then dropped
black desert i keep meaning to go back to when i want a new mmo
totally accurate battleground+ crab game were essentialy fotm games

cluster truck is fun to play ngl
i considered getting clustertruck on my switch
What's the refund policy on the Switch?
Yeah big win.
none
thats very illegal in the eu
Oh
Well it's probably worth your money on a sale
But it's pretty arcadey so don't expect a lot of depth
yeah it's been on sale before
oh yes Ive watched gameplay
it looked fun
something to play when you're watching a movie or something
your pfp is amazing btw
Thanks
Yeah surprised nintendo hasnt been sued yet for the no refund policy in the eu
Do they have a policy for no refunds or do they just not have a refund policy?
you could probably contact nintendo support and get a refund but there's no way on the eshop to actually refund it which sucks
nothing like steam
So you could just pick up a game on steam, try it out for an hour, refund it and if you like it go buy it on the switch
Can probably even hook up the switch controllers to your PC
yeah I supposse i could
Their DMCA on the Metroid video was also removed and the video is back up.
Nintendo’s aggressive use of the DMCA is remarkable, nobody else uses it nearly as much.
They're horrible
and they just keep doing it
They’ve also started sending complaints to archival projects.
they can't stop
Which makes them a direct threat to historical record keeping in the video game space.
''Every single one of you that buys our games, we HATE you, FUCK OFF'' -Nintendo
It doesn’t make sense that they keep spending money on doing this when they’re not actually losing money on any of the things they send complaints to.
It’s a totally nonsensical business position.
When it comes to the whole Smash thing they easily could act like it doesn't exist but they not only don't want to oficially endorse any Smash tournaments and shit like that, they actively sabotage them too
they could EASILY just ignore it because nothing would happen but no
They just have to get up in there and make every single person hate them more and more
It's more to do with the "fair use" laws... which aren't really a thing in Japan
Japanese Fair Use laws have resulted in 3 Japanese students getting arrested for making movie reviews on YouTube. Let's talk about it.
article: https://natalie.mu/eiga/news/453745
interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApH0qhyJSVA&ab_channel=TBSNEWS
Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheAn1meMan
Main Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheAn...
It's a bunch of nonsense from the dinosaurs running the company and the fact that fair use isn't a thing in japan
He talks about it quite a bit here
Even then, it’s a bizarre position to take
idk I also would want to distance myself from the Smash community
It's not exactly the point though
Spending money on lawyers for no reason is just objectively irrational.
and yeah there isn't anyone else in japan that does it quite like nintendo
Toei and Dragonball
If it’s entirely on principle, which it probably is, then it’s still irrational but it’s just silly:
Remember how they struck like 150 videos from that one guy
I think he got the stuff back, actually
Oh really?
he got some of it back
I hope this is my last Toei Update. I thank youtube for helping when they could and I very much want to look to the future! Thank you once again everyone for the support.
wow, my laptop had little trouble running Death Stranding
I was thinking about buying the upgrades for Death Stranding and Control on EGS (I've already got the base games for free), but already have a bunch of other titles I bought
so maybe next summer
The game is pretty great, and I only completed the base version, so the game is worth it as is
yeah, but then I get compelled to replay it 😛
that happened with Black Mesa for me
I much prefer only playing a definitive edition once, it's a more efficient use of my time
Not playing at all is more efficient use of your time
Oh I am indeed going to replay it because of the DC
It is a phenomenal podcast game
i need to play Black Mesa
or just finish HL1
i got to the stupid train part and then quit
this is making me realize that most of the Metroidvanias I've played lean toward the Metroid side of the term
playing something that feels closer to Castlevania is a nice change of pace

''explain Devil May Cry in a single picture''
to be fair I might be able to run it totally fine, I haven't tried yet
my computer doesn't meet the requirements for like, one or two things, which are important, but I bet if I played the game at like, super minimum settings, I might be able to run it just fine
I mean MGSV and DMCV run pretty alright in my computer
Sonic Frontiers doesn't run very well on my computer though
From what I heard, Sonic Frontiers doesn't run very well on anyone's computer
Oh good so it's not my shitty computer then
I just had Railroad Tycoon II crash on me the middle of a campaign scenario (which means I have to completely start over)
It’s an issue I’ve seen before where it suddenly fires a bunch of events all at once and you get the “train arrived and made money” bell sound going mad.
Kind of weird...
me: ''alright I'm at the lab in RE1 time to finish the game so I can move on to RE3''
RE1: [plays in slow motion for no fucking reason]
guess I'm not playing RE1 tonight

holy shit a hydraulic press
I use hyndraulic presses at work
''I think you might be hoarding a bit too much ammo''
BUT WHAT IF I NEED IT FOR LATER
Ooohhh ffffuuuuucccckkkkkk
I have to fill up a fucking tank fuel with that fuel from the picture earlier and if I run, shoot a gun or get attacked it wil fucking EXPLODE

this is gonna be fun
I love it! The soundtrack has some very good pieces
it really does
My favorites are Pioneer's Horizon and one other
https://jeffball.bandcamp.com/album/timespinner-original-game-soundtrack
The soundtrack also has a bunch of good experiments that didn't make it to the game
I wonder what could be behind this door....
also who is holding their gun more correctly? Jill or Barry?
Anyone else play World of Tanks on console?
Probably not seeing that it's not very fun for most people
What game you playing?
resident evil
oh
biohazard
ACTIVATE WINDOWS
ooohh maaahhh gaawwwddddd

OH MY FUCKING GOD
IT JUST STRAIGHT UP RAN AT ME AND DID A LARIAT

better to have and not need than need and not have I guess

oh my god I killed it just as it was about to charge me
jesus christ that was so fucking close

yaaaayyy more cheevos!!!
👀 👀 👀 👀
oh cool they actually change the menu screen
that's awesome
ohh noooo I have to actually go in the game and unlock Jill's casual costume
dang it
well I guess someday I could go and finish RE1 all over again, this time on hard difficulty
I guess now I can jump straight into RE3
I could do Code Veronica but.... eh
Guess the game #250
shrek super slam
Old kids basket ball games be like
I wish I could mod l4d2 to that degree without the game crashing

I just love the pinkie pie standing in the background here
I was like ''goddammit why isn't the HD pack working?'' and then I realized
I downloaded the Dolphin emulator they give you that works best with the pack, I didn't actually download the 1.6 GB HD texture pack itself

ah did it!
yeeeeeaaaahhh this looks so CRISP
woooooooooooo

this is gonna make playing this game so much more fun
Oooh RE3 rules

And speaking of games, I still have one more Steam code for NFS Unbound's top edition (80$ version) thanks to my workplace. I usually exchange these codes for whoever gets something off of my steam wishlist's top 20 for me. I already had Dishonored 1 on Steam, can they offer Death of the Outsider
either way I'll take it
Kat what are you doing
I started playing persona 5 royal, it’s good so far
Oh nice
I really want to play that game
But I'm still waiting for a big sale on Persona 4
Oooohhhhh dishonored!!!
I wish they were offering Dishonored 2 for free
I still have to play that one
God Dishonored was so good
dishonored 2 is free on gog with amazon prime
I started Dishonored 2 but then put it on the back burner until I get a real gaming machine. TBH I probably won’t end up playing it at all, I just don’t have the time.
I finally got the M1 Abrams after 2 months of work in World of Tanks
Now go blow up, IDK, T-26s or something.
Your mostly up against the T-72BU and Leopard 2A5
But what really sucks is when you have to fight a BMP or Bradley that shoots missiles.
Opened Steam Replay
I want to delete Steam
This isn't metairony
This is fucking bullying

I was just joking that you should use this hugely expensive and advanced tank to kill ancient light tanks who have a snowball’s chance in a blast furnace against you.
Bradleys are srs business though, they actually killed more tanks in…one of the Iraq wars than M1s did.
Because they got those missiles
For some reason they don't have the T-90 just the upgraded T-72s
Yeah, the TOW is great.
The Russian BMP is also pretty strong
Amazon likes to do that, say stuff is "free with such-and-such subscription." Rephrasing subscription services that way is an effective advertising trick.
Today we bring you some EXCLUSIVE facts about one of the most beloved Nintendo 64 titles, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. This information largely comes from Japanese magazines that we had translated into English for the first time.

The more I find out about Majora's Mask's behind the scenes the more I love and respect both the game and the devs
And the more I kinda see Miyamoto in a less favorable light...
man gives them one year to make the game and then starts casually telling the team jokes and fun stories to lighten up the mood when they have to work off the clock and pull all nighters
Knowing that the devs had teams for their favorite waifu in the game is hilarious too
Literally a waifu war inside the dev team

People in charge of TV adaptations of videogames not shitting on the source material challenge impossible
I swear to god, Halo, The Witcher, this happens all the time, what is this awful trend?
this is on the same vain as thinking VA's aren't ''real actors''
Traditional movie and television producers and directors do not respect other mediums. It's extremely blatant. Comic books got the same treatment back in the 90s and early 2000s. They get a little more respect now, because $$$, but you often see directors completely changing things without respect for the themes of the originals, see Superman.
The stigma that something isn't a legitimate form of art or hasn't reached it's peak unless it has a live action film needs to go the fuck away
Not only because it super takes away what makes that thing good in the first place in most cases but also because we have been repeatedly shown that cinema/tv directors not only do not understand the source material or the appeal of the source material, they actively do not care and actively shit on it most of the times
It's baffling that it just keeps happening every single time
At the end of the day, because they don't respect other mediums and don't consider them a legitimate form of art, they feel that their vision of something is more important than that of its original creators.
They feel justified in fucking with something because theirs is more valid, in their mind, and will be better appreciated by people who know what they're talking about with respect to art. It's monumentally entitled and stupid.
The reason it keeps happening, unfortunately, is that they make a lot of money doing it. There are millions of people that will just throw money at movies for... really no reason. I've pretty much stopped watching movies because of how pointless it all is and how little I want to support the industry.
I don't fucking understand why they keep making them it makes no sense to me
A while ago I was even hearing talks of a Devil May Cry tv show???
Devil May Cry, the franchise that is all about actually playing the game
my favourite movie (that isnt star wars) is My Neighbour Totoro and I can't see it working in any other form besides animation
I mean it has a cool story and all, I like it and I think it's good, but the point isn't the story it's the fact that you can do a bunch of cool shit, and in live action too? that would be horrible
i think more video game adaptations should be animated
something like MGS I can see happening but even THEN, MGS has a very distinct and appealing gameplay that a lot of the feel would be lost in a tv or movie adaptation
like yeah hurr durr kojima just makes movies they're not games, yes it's a funny joke but it's not actually true
they are legitimately good games
Yes even MGS4
MGS4 is actually really really good
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZo59DeZY9g that's dumb considering Ghana already made Devil May Cry into live action
like Arcane or (and I'm biased about this) the Super Mario Movie look amzing because they're animated and it feels much more faithful to the source material than if it was live action
the only DMC adaptation I'll accept
Mario movie but it's live action and Chris Pratt is just Chris Pratt without the Mario mustache
but Chris Pratt has FLUDD
w h y
it'd be funny
give me a mario movie that's Dragonball Evolution levels of bad
is dragonball evolution really bad or something
listen
"Is there any successful adaptation that has been made?"
"Resident evil"
"Oh ffs"
Super Mario Bros (1993) is really bad but also has a weird sort of charm to it
does Dragonball Evolution have a charm or is it just straight up bad
oh no
just bad
Honestly, live action Super Mario isn't that bad
God, the last movie was such a failure I literally actually didn't hear ANYTHING about it
they released it and the world kept going like normal without acknowledging it at all
ok if live action Super Mario wasn't based on Mario it would be a semi good scifi action comedy movie
