#Running Immich without connecting external hard drive

Hi, I had asked this question a long time ago but then got away from the project, so I do not know whether this was settled.
Basically, I have pictures on my laptop, and others on an external hard drive. But now, whenever the hard drive is not connected (for instance, when I am not home), Immich won't start, which means I have to be home to see the pictures I have on my laptop.
Is there a solution to this?

In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:

  • Your docker-compose.yml and .env files.
  • Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
  • All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
  • Any recent changes you've made to Immich or your system.
  • Details about your system (both software/OS and hardware).
  • Details about your storage (filesystems, type of disks, output of commands like fdisk -l and df -h).

I think you’re trying to use immich as an app / end user software. It’s not designed as such. It’s a server platform
