#pgvecto_upgrade–Crashed - Truenas server migration

Hello!

I'm currently migrating immich from one truenas server to another.

I can install and run immich, but after using Truenas' rsynch utility I go to run Immich and it crashes.

pgvecto_upgrade states it has crashed, unsure as to what permissions I have wrong.

My original server is running postgres 15, so I set the new server to also run postgres 15, not sure if that's an issue. Maybe I should upgrade to 18 on the old server before copying the data over to the new server? Let me know what you think, thanks!

You need to do backup-restore, not rsync the postgres folder.

Ok, so the backups are already in the immich/data/backups folder on the new server. I assume I can delete the directories in the pgData directory and restore to there?

Yes

Gotcha, do you know of a way to run that command from the truenas shell?

earnest rivet
#

No, but we have #truenas and the search function 🙂

Got it working. Started over, ran a replication task from the old truenas server to the new one to copy all the immich directories, then installed immich on the new one and bingo. Came right up. Thanks for your help.
