Hey guys,
I am struggeling with the setup of immich.
When I try to pull the immich-server docker image my disk runs out of space untill i see this error message:
"failed to register layer: no space left on device"
My LXC has 40GB of storage assigned to it which should be enough to pull a docker image, right? How big can it be?
The second device is just for the database and the images are to be stored in another nfs mount.

This is my .env file (without the db config):

UPLOAD_LOCATION=/mnt/storage/SharedStorage/BilderUndVideos/library
DB_DATA_LOCATION=/mnt/storage/db
TZ=Europe/Berlin
IMMICH_VERSION=release

I did not change anything in the compose file.

So, does anybody know how much disk space i need for the docker image and container?

Thx for your time, and a happy new year everyone!

Some info about my system:

  • LXC on Proxmox VE running Debian 12
  • 4G Ram, up to 4 cores
  • just increased Disk from 32G to 40G

Some troubleshooting I have tried:

  • purge docker with docker system prune -a
  • only pull immich server to free some more space

Hello, if you are having issues with LXC we would recommend a VM

#

Proxmox does not recommend docker in LXC

#

Otherwise this is not an immich issue but a issue so our ability to help is limited

#

The images are not more than 10GB though

Thx, I think the 10GB hint is enough info for me. Will try VM
