Are there any more logs around this? Any serverside errors? Does the web client look ok?

If you logout and log back in, does it work?

vital bluff
#

is your instance being accessed over local ip or dns?

vital bluff
#

Do you mind try internal ip?

#

does it work in web browser using the exact same url without /api on the same mobile device?

#

please take care to match the http/s/port #

tribal forum
#

Please post a screenshot of the full url being used in app and mobile browser on same device

vital bluff
#

for full picture to support you, many user mistakenly enter the wrong URL so it is best to ask

vital bluff
#

When you try login with local IP, can you wait a bit, then grab the mobile app log and post it here?

#

also can you capture the screenshot of the backup screen, especially the album you selected for backing up?

vital bluff
#

Thinking more about it, have you always have like 13800 assets not uploaded?

#

Do you use Shared Album feature of iOS by chance?

vital bluff
#

Hmm I am not sure why this happen unless there are some tinkering going on with the instance that doesn't mean to be the designed way of operation

This is interesting. I have the exact same issue on my iPhone. Not only that, but the date for the picture that seems to be the problem is identical with @civic temple (oct. 4. 2020). See screenshots. It has been stuck on this "file" for a long time. I have checked, and I don't have any files with this creation date.

#

No shared albums in Apple Photos. I also notice if I change the backup albums to something else, the same unknown file is waiting in the "upload file info".

#

OK. So I found a way around this for now. Backup album set to "recent (all)".

  • Turned OFF the "ignore iCloud photos".
  • Started the backup and it started copying files.
  • Stopped it immediately.
  • Turned ON the "ignore iCloud photos"
  • It started backing up files again.

Oct 4 2020 is a place holder where there is no file in the queue to be uploaded

hmm something odd is going on with your instsance somehow, I don't have a clear answer yet. Can you try create a test instance and use the phone to access it to see if it shows all the local assets?

#

Hmm you can try connect to the demo portal as well (double tap on the spinning icon at the logging screen)

#

we disable upload endpoint on the demo instsance

#

so your choice

vital bluff
#

you know, ways of debugging is to have a check list of elimination and go through the steps to eliminate the possibility, and here we try to help by walk you through it

peak hare
#

does the app not have network access?

vital bluff
#

Have you tried the suggestions of either connecting to the demo instance or to spin up a test one?

#

maybe also create a new user and login with that user can also help

vital bluff
#

Alright, next steps is to not select Recents, lets try different albums to see if the local
Assets show up.

#

Can you also check on the photos page if there is a spinning circular icon at the bottom of the navigation bar?

#

I think there might be an edge cases in the Recents album that cause the sync mechanism to give up

#

Can you switch to recents then go to the timeline, wait a bit and grab the full log and send it here?

#

In the log page there is a share icon on the top right corner

vital bluff
#

Look like there are some photos that can not be retrieved from your library and it causes the sync to run into issue

#

I will have to dive in this later

#

Can you open a GitHub issue and post the logs so we can track this issue?

vital bluff
#

Correct

#

Do you know what changes recently from your usage behavior? Because you said it was working fine right?

#

Correct

#

You can

#

are you using iCloud photos still?

#

and which iOS version are you on?

#

so those 13k assets are all local on your phone?

#

Sorry you might have said this but did you change to a new phone?

#

so the files are uploaded to your instance by a different method, from the CLI or immich-go?
