Bug Report: Deep Research ends early, misses citations, and no longer shows visited sources

`Steps to Reproduce`

Run a Deep Research request that requires researching multiple websites and sources. Wait for the research to complete. Check the final report for citations and the research progress/source activity UI. I reproduced this 3 times in a row with separate Deep Research runs.

`Expected Result`

Deep Research should continue until the requested scope is adequately researched, include working citations for sourced claims, and show the research activity/source trail, including the number and list of websites or pages visited.

`Actual Result`

Deep Research finishes much earlier than expected, returns results with no citations, and no longer shows the number or list of websites/pages visited. As a comparison, I also used a normal ChatGPT conversation and simply asked it to “do deep research” without invoking Deep Research, and that ordinary chat session produced a noticeably more thorough result than the dedicated Deep Research feature.
