Bug Report: ChatGPT Android app does not recognize hardware keyboard shortcuts on Samsung Galaxy Tab
`Steps to Reproduce`
  1. Open the ChatGPT Android app on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S11.
  2. Start a brand-new chat.
  3. Tap the message composer so the cursor is active.
  4. Type any text using a Logitech Pebble Keys 2 K380s Bluetooth keyboard.
  5. Press Enter.
  6. Press Ctrl + /.
  7. Press Ctrl + Shift + ;.
  8. Optionally test Ctrl + Enter and Alt/Cmd + Enter.
`Expected Result`

The ChatGPT Android app should recognize hardware keyboard input and documented shortcuts.
Expected behavior:

  • Ctrl + / opens the keyboard shortcuts list.
  • Ctrl + Shift +; triggers the documented shortcut behavior.
  • A hardware keyboard send shortcut should be available, or there should be a setting such as:
    Enter sends a message
    Shift + Enter inserts a new line
`Actual Result`

In the ChatGPT Android app:

  • Enter inserts a newline instead of sending.
  • Ctrl + / does nothing.
  • Ctrl + Shift + ; does nothing.
  • Ctrl + Enter does not send.
  • Alt/Cmd + Enter does not send.

The same keyboard works normally in Samsung Notes and other apps.

On chatgpt.com in Chrome on the same tablet, Ctrl + Shift +; shows a green “Copied code block to clipboard” notification, but the Android app shows no reaction.

Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab S11, model SM-X730 OS: Android 16 / One UI 8.5 ChatGPT Android app version: 1.2026.167 Keyboard: Logitech Pebble Keys 2 K380s Bluetooth keyboard Mouse: Logitech M196 Bluetooth mouse, also tested with mouse disconnected On-screen keyboards tested: Samsung Keyboard and Gboard Layouts tested: English (US) and other layouts DeX: off Multi Control: off Accessibility services: checked; no active key remapper/shortcut interceptor found Other troubleshooting: force stop, clear cache, full uninstall/reinstall, brand-new chat, removed Gbox/Gspace from tablet
