#Tracking Codex Issues

Hey all, it seems there is a significant increase in Codex issues, but so far it's all anecdotal and whining. Nothing here is actionable or effectual. I suggest we use the normally useless #1070006915414900886 channel to at least centralize reports and move people to contribute details onto single issues. Otherwise when someone says "OK, what's wrong? Everyone else seems to like it." We can point to something substantive, not just random threads of angst.
My suggested approach would be - when someone says there's an issue, we try to refer them to an existing thread (or codex tag?) to add their notes, or to create a new thread there.
I've reported the missing daily usage graph to a human, and I did get an email from a human and a case number, but nothing after that
I despair of this getting fixed anytime soon
Note that this thread is not for specific issues. It's about how we report issues effectively so that we can get them fixed.
Maybe in this thread we can discuss how we do this in general - the process - and in other threads 🙄 we can discuss daily events and experiences with the process.
I'm try to get some organization here so that we can get things done.
Here's what might be a better alternative. Get specific issues out of Discord and into GitHub Discussions where they get more visibility.
When someone has a specific issue here. The question is "did you look for, or create, a GitHub Discussion on this?"
If the answer is no, send them here:
https://github.com/openai/codex/discussions
If the answer is yes, get the discussion number: (example)
https://github.com/openai/codex/discussions/2251
If there isn't a discussion on it, there is no problem in the eyes of OpenAI.
People must report issues for discussion in GitHub so that we can get eyes on the problems.
I recommend this solution over #1070006915414900886. It puts all info in one place for maintainers.
If there is concensus on this, I'll propose it to devs.
If not, what do YOU want to do - complaining in public does not effect change.
Another suggestion, probably better than posting on GitHub:
If you're serious about getting things fixed, post to https://community.openai.com/ .
Discord is not an official resource. We can whine in here for weeks about issues, and people do, and nothing will happen. Cause/Effect/Proof.
OpenAI staff are in the OpenAI.com Community/Developer forum.
Send people to find and report issues there.
Get information there. Bring it back here.
There are multiple suggestions on the table for getting action on issues. Pick one. Follow it. Help others to do so. Stop complaining into the air - it doesn't change anything.
