I’d like to suggest adding Obsidian to ChatGPT’s connected apps.

Obsidian is widely used as a personal knowledge base for notes, research, writing, project planning, and long-term reference material. Connecting it to ChatGPT would make it much easier to work with a user’s existing vault without manually copying notes into the chat.

Useful capabilities could include:

  • Searching across an Obsidian vault
  • Summarizing linked notes or folders
  • Drafting from existing notes
  • Finding contradictions, duplicates, or gaps across notes
  • Helping organize tags, backlinks, and folder structures
  • Turning rough notes into outlines, documents, study guides, or project plans

A read-only connection would already be valuable, especially for users who rely on Obsidian as their main knowledge system. Optional write access could be added later for creating or updating notes, but even search and retrieval alone would be a strong first step.

This would make ChatGPT much more useful for people who manage their own local knowledge bases and want AI assistance without moving everything into another platform.
