Bug Report: ChatGPT Web History Navigation Button Gone
`Steps to Reproduce`
  1. Go to ChatGPT web, start a new conversation.
  2. Edit prompt, or try regenerate answer.
`Expected Result`

I should able to navigate edit/regen history with arrow buttons, like < 1 / 2 > under prompt, or output.

`Actual Result`

No history button rendered, and I'm unable to navigate my edit/regen history.

I checked further about this bug:

  • Buttons are not hidden, but not rendered to client at all.
  • Edit history data is intact.

From my (limited) understanding, this is affecting some users fully and others not at all, which makes me think of "feature flag" releases where some users, regardless of which device or application they use, get a certain version of the interface (which in this case has a bug) whereas others do not and thus remain not only entirely unaffected but oblivious.

Found this in forum post above(2 weeks ago from today):

This is what they said to me:

“What you’re describing (toggling through prior versions of an edited message in regular chats on ChatGPT) isn’t a currently documented ChatGPT feature; the only documented “Version History” is for custom GPTs in the GPT editor (and “history” exists for saved memories, separately ).”
