Bug Report: Windows version of Desktop app is slow to the point of usable

Install Windows Desktop app. Have a long entire experience degrades.

`Expected Result`

Fast and responsive (like the MacOS app)

`Actual Result`

Close, all UI elements take an age to respond. Unusable.
