Bug Report: Editing a message or regenerating a response no longer shows previous versions / branches
`Steps to Reproduce`

First, send a message in a conversation.
Then, either edit your own message or click the “Try again” option on the AI’s response.

`Expected Result`

Previous versions of the message or response should remain accessible. Normally, the UI displays a version indicator (for example, “<2/2>”) that allows you to switch between different versions, effectively acting as conversation branches within the same chat.

`Actual Result`

The version indicator no longer appears. Only the most recent version of the message or response is visible, and earlier branches are no longer accessible.

`Environment`

Tested in the browser and Windows app versions of ChatGPT. (The mobile version never had this feature, so it's unaffected) (Also, thank you ChatGPT for helping me word this in a way that hopefully makes sense)
