#Adult Users Need a Privacy-Respecting Opt-Out From Teen-Safe Restrictions

I am an adult user, but ChatGPT automatically enforces teen-safe restrictions in certain conversations. This limits my ability to engage in normal, mature discussions.

Currently, there is no way to turn off these restrictions. No adult toggle exists, and there is no age-verification process available for the ChatGPT app. This is frustrating and unnecessary.

I am aware OpenAI has facial-age estimation tools, but requiring biometric data to confirm adulthood is unacceptable. Facial scans raise serious privacy concerns, and adult users should not be forced to submit any personal biometric information just to access age-appropriate conversation.

OpenAI needs to implement a simple, privacy-respecting method for adult users to opt out of teen-safe restrictions. Forced teen-mode by default, with no opt-out, is intrusive, frustrating, and inappropriate for adult users.

Please add an adult-mode toggle or equivalent solution that does not rely on facial scans or other biometric verification.

Thank you.

Adult verification is being rolled out (I verified back in November). But I'm afraid that even a verified adult has largely teen-safe restrictions in conversations and in long-form fiction as well.
After verification (if you want to test that it sees you as an adult) ask it for a cocktail recipe. You don't need to care what's in it. If it sees you as an adult, it will tell you what goes in the drink. If it thinks you're underage, it will tell you that it can't discuss it with you.
